X posted, dh wow thats an ace night! Well done man, looks like ur going to crack it!
chu glad im not on my own with that, thanks!
Dont know why im sat here, got to be at work in half hour and im not even showered!!

Trudyla · 27/10/2011 08:45

mlic How is W this morning? Every 15 min really sounds a bit excessive. How are you feeling? Remember, today is a new day!

dh and viks Well done on a good night!

viks No help about swollen bits. It's been ages since I could see anything down there and I'm way to scared to take a mirror. It's been blind shaving for me for a while now [hgrin]

M has been in 4+ and sometimes 5 nappies for the night for a bit now. We've also found that the others were leaking in the morning. She does drink a lot of water before she goes to bed, so I think that's the reason.

tsc Sounds like a great day out.

chulita Enjoy the swimming. I'm still in total awe of you for doing all the things you do, while pregnant, but especially taking two children swimming, no matter how many others come to help you. I take my hat off to you. I barely have energy or inclination to leave the front door. Nevermind going to the pool...

It's getting really lonely on my ante-natal thread. Everybody is having their babies. At least it makes me less scared of labour and more excited about newborn cuddles. Midwife was here yesterday and all seems alright. She's very surprised he's not here yet. She has tickets for a concert Friday night. What are the chances I will have to ring her then? Everytime the midwife comes and takes my blood pressure, touches my belly, takes baby's heart beat and stuff, M totally freaks out and starts crying. She seems to hate somebody touching me but I wonder why? I'm always cheerful and laugh and joke with her, trying to reassure her. [hconfused]

Off to my last massage now. The last two ones are gonna be done once baby is here. Massage girl will visit and do it then. My midwife says it's amazing and really beneficial.

Hope you'll all have a good Thursday.

CakeandRoses · 27/10/2011 08:57

sorry for the quickie - just dashing off to work but wanted to say hope everything's looking better there today mlic. how's the little one?

can only echo what the others said - was just an accident on a bad day. certainly does not = bad mum.

i think some children also are more prone to injuries because of the way they fall and/or they bruise easily whereas others seem to be able to roll with it more. i say this because F is the most accident prone child (as i was before him - my nn was my bump Hmm) - nursery say he spends his day running into things, falling over things and picking himself off the floor and yet the only injuries he ever gets (touch wood) are little bruises on his legs - which is kinda the norm for a toddler.

what can you do? you can;t wrap them in cotton wool, you have to let them have a normal active childhood and the occasional bump or graze is just part of the tapestry.

CakeandRoses · 27/10/2011 08:58

'mr bump' not 'my bump'!

WhatSheSaid · 27/10/2011 09:19

Have sent your questionnaire back stac Smile

Chulita · 27/10/2011 09:23

bugger school holidays, aqua tots isn't on this week Angry I'm not sure whether to go for the public swim or not, it's more expensive and there'll be all ages there cos it's raining today but at the same time L's really looking forward to it. I don't want to go cos I just binned my breakfast and feel really rough again...20 weeks and this is just completely taking the piss. I'm in a totally foul mood.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/10/2011 09:30

No it's black jack vik

He's ok thanks, although he looks shattered already and is rubbing his eyes so I've had to put him to bed but he doesn't usually nap unil 12! The bump has gone down considerably so we're just left with the horrible bruise. He has been pretty upset this morning, but I think he's teething and he has a cold and he's obviously knackered, probably from being so upset :(

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/10/2011 11:23

Poor baby is still asleep Shock

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2011 20:12

I'm here! Dont know how much longer though, D had wind tonight so took an hour to get him down.

Might try and get dh off the xbox for an early night Wink

CakeandRoses · 27/10/2011 20:28

I'm here but cooking dinner and writing odes to bread pud, as you do.

A was sent home sick from nursery Sad, seemed fine and then was comedically sick all over our bed and dh's work laptop.

tsc sounds like you've been --too- v reasonable with dp. personally i'd suggest he pays his wages into the joint account and then you'll transfer some over to him for his personal stuff. is he even telling how much he earns?

viksam · 27/10/2011 21:23

dh hope the xbox get switched off asap!!!
cake Poor A, hope its just a passing thing. I HATE clearing up vom, its te worst thing!
I have just noticed that D hs two molars cut!!!how the hell did i miss that???
DH is off tomorrow and we are having the carpet fitted in what wil be D's room tomorrow, sadly im very excited!
Hope everyone is ok!

Woodlands · 27/10/2011 21:27

evening all!

I went to a little local independent kids' clothes/shoe shop today and got sold a pair of cruising/pre-walker shoes for J, having been told by so many people not to bother till he's ready for real shoes! The woman in the shop said that it's a big leap from nothing/the soft leather ones to proper hard walking shoes, and that the cruisers are much easier to get used to. I'm finding it really hard to know what to put on J's feet at the moment - socks and soft leather ones just don't cut it in the puddles in playgrounds. So he has shoes! They will be great for nursery.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/10/2011 23:12

FWIW Woodlands I think that you've done the right thing, he will be walking all the time soon and shoes are good for him now

I'm a little pissed...excuse the typos. AND I'm on my phone, teeny keyboard

Vik, my two have both been ILL with teething so I'd bet those teeth were linked to his sickness. Baby threw up today and I'm more inclined to think 'teething' than 'head injury' although it still looks fucking horrendous as he's been writhing at his mouth hysterically all day. Today has been Hard Work, from 11.35 to 6.45 (bed) I've hardly been able to put him down. V V upset :(

Anyhoo, I should still be out but my lightweight friend got us a lift home with her fit brother so I suppose I should finish this glass of wine and go to bed Grin

Chulita · 28/10/2011 07:49

Morning all!

I went to bed at 7pm last night, just too tired and ill to do anything other than sleep, and sleep I did.

mlisc hope W's bruise fades quickly and he gets these teeth out, good for you for getting out last night!

cake how's lady A today? I agree re bread pudding, it's bloody gorgeous warm with a cuppa.

viks that might explain why he was up so much recently, if he was cutting badboy molars, poor little one, still two less to worry about :)

woodlands S went from barefoot to proper shoes about a month ago when it turned cold. He would never keep anything on his feet when it was warmer. He stumbled about the house for about 5 mins and then worked out how to walk in them. I don't think it makes too much difference tbh, but then he's on his feet all the time so pre-walkers wouldn't be much good now.

Off for my 20 week scan in an hour, fingers crossed it's all ok!
(then off to the in-laws for the night, devon here we come)

OP posts:
Woodlands · 28/10/2011 08:47

Good luck today Chulita, hope all goes well! Are you finding out the sex? I seem to recall you said you weren't?

Poor babyboy mlisc - hope he's better today and you're not too hungover!

I'm sure he would have got used to proper shoes fine if we had waited - trouble is it could be another month before he's properly walking plus then you're meant to wait six weeks after that before getting proper shoes really, and that takes us well into January! I think these will do nicely now to protect his feet and keep them warm while playing outside. I wanted to see what size he was - I thought he might still only be a 3.5, in which case I would have waited, but he came out as a 4 so we went ahead.

memphis83 · 28/10/2011 08:57

chulita are you going to tell us if the bump is a boy or a girl or keep it from us til d day?
dh how long does your dh play on xbox? i want to buy dh one for xbox but he has said there isnt any point as he wont play it when im home as its antisocial! plus if he did for prolonged periods he would find me selling it on pretty quickly Grin
mlic hope your all ok today.
viksam the woman who irons here is busy but not for reveryday items more for mens work stuff, 5 shirts and a few smart trousers is a tenner a week, I know if dh wore stuff like that I would pay for it to be done! local dry cleaners charges £1.60 per shirt!
Work was so busy yesterday and we all have sore throats, L is at the doctors at 3 today as he keeps choking on food as his throat is swollen, he is happy in the day but looks tired and puffy faced but all night all he is doing is crying and drinking milk!
I bought some Sainsburys nappies the other day im taking them back used two and they both leaked within 2 hours!
Ive been really low all week, and now im so exhausted it isnt helping!

Spirael · 28/10/2011 08:59

Morning all! Hope there were good nights all around. :) Things have returned to normality here now M seems to be recovering, which is also giving me the chance to get over the cold she was kind enough to share. Her bruise has faded too, which is a relief.

Soooo glad it's the weekend tomorrow! Anyone know how to persuade LO's to lie in for an extra hour when the clocks go back on Sunday?? Wink

We got cruiser shoes for M when she was just starting to figure out walking, Woodlands. We got them for her first birthday and she still uses them now! (Tiiiny feet.) Primarily they were for when she was playing outside, to protect her feet.

Inside she still wanders around with just grippy socks. I got fluffy ones to keep her feet warm instead of slippers, as I suspected slippers would be removed and chucked away in a matter of moments! (Assuming I could even find any in size 3, most start at size 4!)

Good luck for the scan today, Chulita! :) Hopefully everything'll be fine and your LO will wave nicely for you and smile at the camera.

Sent M to nursery dressed as a bat today with a pumpkin carved like a baby face and lit with an LED light, as they're doing their Halloween party. Grin No idea why they're doing it on Friday rather than Monday... I've been busy every evening this week rushing to get it finished off, as I thought I had another weekend! I'll post some pictures on FB later once I get chance to take them off the camera.

Ocado just cancelled my order for this evening. Shock That's the first time ever they've completely cancelled my order. Though they have given me a £25 compensation voucher, so I guess I can forgive them.

Will have to try and get a supermarket shop done at lunchtime though for over the weekend and take it on the bus later, otherwise I've got to face the trauma of a Saturday morning supermarket run tomorrow. Confused

CakeandRoses · 28/10/2011 09:03

oooh good luck chul. and hope devon turns out better than expected. we're doing the ILs trip soon and i feel similarly

all vom here. Lady A is her usual cheerful self but I'm on my 4th load of washing since yday evening (3 lots being bedding incl 2 pillows and a quilt). worn out already and it's only 9am. she can only keep water down but keeps asking for bm and i feel too guilty to totally deprive her but then regret it when i do bf her.

Woodlands · 28/10/2011 09:07

Oh no, poor A. Even if she is throwing up the BM she will be digesting some of it and it will be doing her good - it's not like normal dairy in this instance. Probably worth feeding her little and often. But I sympathise about the washing!

I need some new grippy socks for J inside - he normally goes barefoot at home but it is getting colder. I had a pack of three pairs from Gap which were good but only have three of the socks left now!

viksam · 28/10/2011 10:22

Hi,
Glad u asked the question spireal about the clocks going back, anyone got any interesting stratagies?
Re foot wear, i have some of those slippersocks with like a moccasin attached and he loves them, they occasionally come off a bit and he comes and finds me and sits on the floor and tries to put it back on himself!
He had a really good night, cried out once but ss, woke at 6.15 and chunteres on and whinged for half hour then went back to sleep for half hour, then i went to make a cuppa and got his bottle and we all stayed in our bed for the next hour just playing and watching tele, we dont usually do that but it was lovely, bit like what christmas morning would be like in our house, but there may be another bambino sharing the fun then.........i hope. I really hope he comes a bit earlier than xmas eve, i really dont want to miss xmas day at home!
I did change his nappy at 9.30pm but it had still leaked this morning, this is pampers staydry, im going to lidl in a bit to get theres! and maybe i'll try 5+ too.
chu where u goinng in Devon? Please let us know how ur scan went asap, i cant believe ur that far along already, this is going to go quickly for us both i think! im 32 wks tomorrow!!!!
cake poor A, i soooooo know how u feel with all that washing, its a nightmare isnt it!
mylife it most probably is W's teeth, i feel really bad that i didnt notice D's molars, how bad is that!! two of them as well and two really bulging gums at the bottom, that means he has 14 teeth cut! Is there 20 altogether?
DH has just brought a new game for his PC so he will be gaming all day now, i have learned that its best to let him get it out of his system then hes back to normal!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/10/2011 11:13

Yes 20 altogether vik but the last four don't come until they're between 2 and 3yo. E ha only got part of one of the last four and he's 3 in 6 weeks!

Baby is off colour today :( I toyed with keeping him off nursery but I thought he'd only cry and whinge all day with me where nursery might distract him. He had a little bit of a temp but nothing major - I rang and checked on him a while ago and they said he's fine, quiet and heavy eyed but is playing and generally ok. So I'm glad I took him as I'm convinced he'd be less happy at home.

Hope the scan went well chul! How exciting!
Have you picked a name yet vik?
Trudy where are you? When you're quiet for any period of time you do realise we'll think you're off having the baby don't you Grin

dh has an xbox360 and a playstation and he never goes on the xbox but does play on the playstation. Can't see the attraction personally but then each to their own.

I have so much ironing to do but I cba. Might get dh to take me out for lunch instead Wink

Trudyla · 28/10/2011 11:37

I know mlic, very conscious of that [hgrin]

Still here, nothing labour like happening. Just have no energy to post owt. I'll try and be back soon.

Hope all the poorly babes are better soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/10/2011 13:11

memphis he would play it every spare min he gets if he could. He usually asks me if its ok to play it lol. Generally though he plays it whilst Im getting D to sleep in the evenings and at weekends in the morning or if we're not doing much in the afternoon.

I managed to pursuade him off it last night though Wink

D wasnt as good last night, I knew it wouldnt last. He went down at 8 and didnt wake til midnight which is good for him. But then he woke around 3 and 5 and wouldnt go back down so in bed with me he came and slept til 8:45!

Hes having a nap now Im at my mums, going to have lunch then take him to the play area at the castle.
