Hello ladies

Sorry I still haven't caught up very well. Still trying to do my college assessment and need to type questionnaires to be answered. Anyone fancy doing one for me?

Well memphis I am so jealous you have met kelly jones I love him ;). Can you ask to have the bills transferred to the new house to give you a bit more time? I'm sure you can do that here maybe different in your area.

tsc seems ridiculous that they make the mistake then expect you to come up with that kind of money! Bastards.

milsc dps cousin had the same problem and we all had to remind him to swallow. He's totally fine now. The speech therapist sounds nice.

viks that's the part of pregnancy I hated not being able to sleep or get comfy, people would say your body was preparing you for sleepless night. Lot of crap! Is D feeling better?

trudy glad your relaxing more. Is M still seeing the nanny? Famous people I've met are matthew kelly (was in a play with him). Different scottish footballers. Shane from westlife dripped his juice on my head at a concert so pretty crap.

cakes thanks for the dairy info I hadn't thought that could cause it I will give it a try. Sounds like you've found strategies to manage F must be so frustrating as a child and being bored iyswim. J is struggling just now as he's very good at maths but more so in his head so he struggles with working out which the school expects but he's learning.

Can't remember who asked but in here Js mums boy Rs dads girl unless she's ill sore or tired then it has to be me. Better go to sle. Night

Chulita · 25/10/2011 06:42

stac I'll do one for you, no worries.

cake tut tut for using sat nav, that's why ours is never switched on. I'd rather do it the old way you usually know where you are with a map Grin

tsc that's a freaking joke! esp as they've listened to the tape and realised you were told wrong in the first place. I'm hoping to get tenants in our house quick or we'll have to start paying tax on that as well as the one we're living in...just bollocks really.

I've only got the one older child so can't compare L with anyone else but aren't all toddlers/children a pita when they're bored?

Morning

Thanks for sharing your celeb stories. Kept me entertained for a bit. The mind boggles at stac's story about juice dripping on head [hgrin]

Shit night here. I'm hoping that vaccinations are really worth it and that they are not just upsetting children and making parents worried. M hardly slept last night after her booster. Poor thing, must be so upsetting to such a little body.

Have some friends coming over later so will attempt to bake a lemon cake.

I'm gonna make a fish pie today and will need 2 sticks of celery. Any suggestions what to do with the rest? All the recipes need one or two sticks and I'm always left with the huge rest stinking the flat out. Will pre-cook some bolognese for the freezer as well. But does anyone know a recipe that uses loads? (Bloody Maries are out [hsad] )

Still big, fat and pregnant here. Baby is so low down now that I can hardly walk. Never had that with M. I've had to use my umbrella as a walking stick around the house over the last few days. What a twat I must look [hgrin]

What are your plans for this lovely Tuesday?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 08:13

Yep chulita. Well E is anyway.

Both in bed at 7pm as usual and E up at 7am, W up at 7.30am. Really appreciated the last two nights of 9 hours sleep, I feel so much more refreshed (don't hate me!)

My best tip for celery is leave it out and don't buy it in the first place! Yuck. I hate celery.

No plans for today, don't know what to do.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/10/2011 08:49

I hate u mlisc Grin no not really you deserve it.

D didn't have a great night, up every 2-3 hours. When will it ever get better?!

stac I'll do a questionnaire for you :) hope college is going well.

I've got a 1st birthday party to go to today. If anyone remembers me moaning about the girls at the group who are 'Bessie mates' well it's one of those dd's but luckily there will be people I like and get on with there so it shouldn't be too bad. It's in a village hall so not sure what entertainment there'll be.

Woodlands · 25/10/2011 08:50

I'm not keen on celery either.

J slept fine last night but I didn't - couldn't get to sleep for ages and then kept coming awake. Grr.

Woww, trudy, can't believe you're doing so much cooking at this stage. Nesting perchance?!

memphis83 · 25/10/2011 09:13

After L being restless after I put him down, he didnt wake til 8 after not making a noise once I was in bed!
stac cant transfer it to new house, didnt want to stay with British Gas anyway we are going with Scottish Power as they are they best tariffs at the moment.

cakes forgot transport survey
while PG
Motorbike
Jet Ski
Quad Bike
Plane

Once born
mounain bike seat and trailer

van and car!

The dog and L are driving me mad already tearing around the house and my friend has cancelled on me so nothing to do and dnt want to go out and spend money! So day in for us apart from a walk later!

Chulita · 25/10/2011 09:17

I really like celery, especially stuffed with peanut butter, yum! I put it in soups and casseroles mainly as a bit of padding.

I need to get S's mmr done now that he's over this cold.

dh it will get better, just hang in there, you've done really well to get this far already without caving!

Off to dunhelm to buy some storage jars for my sugar scrubs that I might eventually get around to making as presents.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/10/2011 09:49

Thanks chulita it is hard going but I've done it for a week now and there's no way I'd go back to bf and co sleeping all night.

Dh and I went to bed last night and had a right old giggle, just like old times it was really nice to do that again! That's not an innuendo either lol!

CakeandRoses · 25/10/2011 10:06

I agree with the celery-haters. Yeuch - tis the devil's own work.

I feel like I'm coming over all 'my child gets more bored than anyone else's child' which wasn't what I mean at all! I think it's just hard to convey what I mean on here and the more I say the more it sounds like I'm bigging F up which really wasn't the point. I was just trying to make sense of his behaviour and why nursery are getting exasperated with him.

That book sounds great tsc I'll def order it.

memphis think you win the transport competition unless my venetian gondelier and new york subway are worth more points :D

stac what's the questionnaire?

tsc it does sound really bad that they're still making you pay such a big chunk even tho they've heard it's their error. Def sounds like it's worth pushing back again. I would take it higher/threaten to.

mlic sorry, what did I miss re swallowing?

Am on way to the spa with dh for his birthday which sounds great but we had so little sleep (thanks to both DCs), he's got a cold, we're an hour late and he doesn't want a pedi so we've rowed most of the way here. Sigh...

Hopefully he'll cheer up once he sees it.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 10:13

His excessive drooliness cake - SaLT came back out to assess him yesterday and said it's all linked to his inability to feed properly when he was younger.

Hope your day picks up!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 10:14

And does pedi mean pedicure? Pedicure? DH would slap me with a wet fish if I booked him one of those, lol. In fact, he would be less than pleased going to a spa in the first place...

memphis83 · 25/10/2011 11:34

mlic I agree about the pedi, my DH wouldnt even get into the car to go to a spa!, I have to pin him down to get rid of his monobrow and he only lets me do that as some of the younger lads at work laughed at him Grin
Two great mornings here for breakfast, yesterday he had porridge, yoghurt and a whole banana and today he fed himself branflakes and 2 strawberries! Found out yesterday mum has been giving him 2 9oz bottles on the day she has him Shock I only give him one small one mid morning, told her it has to stop!
Just cleaned all my drawers in kitchen... well one is still full of rubbish, its the drawer we dump various bits in and dont know where to put it all, im betting it all goes in a bag and gets dumped in a new dumping drawer, does anyone else have such a drawer or is it just us?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 11:44

Yes I have two one of those memph :) Well done on the breakfast L, keep up the good work!

I feel lilke a bit of a bad parent at the moment. We've pretty much stopped going to toddler groups as I hate them they're usually on as ds2's nap time. I do see friends with LOs (like y'day afternoon) and they go to nursery on a Friday and obviously have/play with friends there, but I feel like I should do something 'socialising' every day. AIBU to not want to? Wink

memphis83 · 25/10/2011 12:05

mlic phew! I thought we were the only ones! I dont go to groups apart from one a fortnight, I dont think he misses it, Ive even stopped tumble tots as I found it painful to try and talk to the 'yummy mummies' I rarely see people with kids but hopfully this will change once I move!

Trudyla · 25/10/2011 12:17

memph Everybody has a messy drawer. I hate ours and regularly tidy it up, feeling all smug, only for it to return to messiness within a fortnight. Arrrgh.
I'm so pleased for you about the food situation improving. Must be a weight off your mind.

mlic One of the best things about the nanny is that I don't feel I have to go to any playgroups and places with children anymore. She does that a lot, so I'm telling myself, M will be happy to spend time with me the rest of the time. It does sound like yours see a lot of other children anyway, and also, don't forget, they have each other to learn social skills and entertain each other. Once I have both of mine at that age I shall never leave the house ever again, bliss I will not worry about groups so much anymore.

cake I had to giggle at the pedi as well. DP hates, hates, hates spas. We were once given a treatment day and while he is hardly every in a really bad mood, he certainly was all day there. Commiserations on the shitty night though.

Funny, all you celery haters on one thread.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/10/2011 12:45

trudy it'll only last til I have my next one. can't wait to see pics of your lo!

mlisc I've given up on all but one of the baby groups because I find they're always on when D has a nap. The one I go to every mon is 12:30 -2:45 so I have to try and get D to nap before it buy still have a decent nap so he's not tired again by the time it finishes.

We have little square cupboards next to our extractor fan in the kitchen and one of those has become a dumping ground for all sorts. At least it's hidden.

D's been asleep for an hour now, hoping he goes a bit longer.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 13:38

I've just been given two bin bags of clothes for the boys! Woo hoo, I love a good cast off Grin I was just thinking this morning that ds1 was a bit short on trousers. It's got a couple of winter hats and gloves sets too, very handy.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one giving toddler sessions a swerve! I still feel a bit guilty though...

I currently have a spag bol in the slow cooker for the boys but don't know what to do for us for tea. This is why I need to menu plan, when I don't I go haywire.

Update: I have arranged for a return of E's present :( I know he'll love it but it's Just. Too. Big. I emailed them and they told me to ring a number. I rang and they said sorry, for unwanted gifts we only allow a 7 day cooling off period so we can't. I thought 'ah well it's meant to be' and then he said he'd look at the order if I gave him the order number. When he looked he said that because of the email, it had in fact been authorised for return. So then I thought 'well that's meant to be then' Grin So, it's going back and I'm going to buy Tomas/Brio stuff instead that can be moved/erected and dismantled/put away.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/10/2011 13:57

Oh my, I thought this day would never come.

One of E's back molars is finally starting to break through. Halelujah.

CakeandRoses · 25/10/2011 14:18

He LOVES the spa :). Swapped the pedi for a dry flotation :-s

I swerve all toddler groups etc apart from anything they all seem to clash with naps. I have no idea why that is. Has always done my head in. F goes to his music class, they both go to nursery and I meet friends with same age dcs at least twice a week so I can't see there's any need at all to do more.

No messy drawer tho! :)

Off to relax some more.... (Dh is having a massage now!)

CakeandRoses · 25/10/2011 14:22

Oh and congrats on the molar mlic !! I know how you feel! Also, keep meaning to say - I was right about F and teething - no repeat of that awful, grumpy, aggressive behaviour since his teeth all came thru. I know I've been moaning about him lately but it's completely different stuff.

Chulita · 25/10/2011 14:25

Grin cake I'm not being all huffy about your comments re F, he is imo very advanced re reading etc and yes, when someone who works with children makes a comment you take notice cos obviously they've noticed that in some way your child is doing something different to the 'average' child. If he wasn't, they wouldn't have noticed!

memphis we also have a messy sideboard drawer, and yes, everytime I sort it the stuff just gets shifted from one drawer to the next.

I love our toddler groups, lets the two run off steam and they do stuff that I don't at home like glueing glitter and sequins or playing in pink spaghetti or whatever. They also get to use lots of toys that I'll never buy and make a good old mess that I don't need to clean up. Then again, I have 3 very good children's centres within walking distance so I'm very lucky!

mlic re Brio, when you go to CP with cake or off to visit family you can take a small loop with you which is a bonus imo. Great news on molars too!

Woodlands · 25/10/2011 15:16

I don't mind toddler groups but now that J is at nursery I'm not sure he needs them as well. Wednesdays and Thursdays are his only non-nursery days. On Wednesdays we quite often go to parent and toddler at the local children's centre, but haven't been for a couple of weeks because of illness/naps, and I'm guessing it's not on this week because of half term. My mum takes him to a toddler group on Thursdays that they both enjoy, and it means it's more peaceful at home for me to work!

The questionnaire is about peoples attitudes to children with additional support needs attending mainstream schools. Its for a report on research skills which bores me ro tears to be honest. College is going well but then I really enjoy studying.

We don't go to baby groups but R goes to nursery so I don't feel the need to take her to groups. We do try to meet up with friends with kids but this will get harder as I will be out 5 days per week.
