I baked apple-crumble-muffins today and they are very nice.

memphis83 · 21/10/2011 12:36

warning self indulgent sobbing about to start.....

Ive have just sat and read this mornings posts and cried, actually sobbed :( L just would never ever eat this much like all of your babies! it takes him half an hour to eat a raisin and this isnt exaggerating, he is great with a fork and spoon but he just doesnt eat much at all

breakfast today
2 raisins...yes 2!
one bite of toast

snack
1 biscotti

yesterdays lunch was a few yoghurt covered raisins and a cube of cheese

yesterdays tea he actually ate fantasticly he ate some chicken and baked beans and shamefully I had waffles (dh cooked) so I gave him half and he ate that too

he gets offered so much more than this but just throws it away, all fruit and nice things anyway!

sorry for being a drip but I feel like a really bad mum

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/10/2011 14:00

Not at all memph! That's why I said at the beginning of my long post, the babies on here are very different. He sleeps well and is a happy healthy boy so is ibviously doing absolutely fine on what he's having. Don't get upset :(

memphis for your benefit I've just dug out L's food diary from last year. We started keeping one cos she just wasn't eating.
March 10th - breakfast: 2 shreddies,
lunch: 1 teaspoon peas
tea: one mini cheddar
March 11th - breakfast: 8 raisins
lunch: nothing
tea: one teaspoon shepherd's pie
And so it goes on, from Feb til July when I got too pg to care. She still doesn't eat loads but she's never short of energy, it's just the kind of person she is. Don't beat yourself up about it!

OP posts:
Trudyla · 21/10/2011 14:47

memph You're not a bad mum! You can't force him to eat and as long as he's happy and healthy, that's all that counts.

M eats lots but she is a little chubbster. They are all different. I used to panic when I read what all the babies on this thread can do. Talk, walk, play on their own etc. when M didn't (and mostly still doesn't) do any of these. But it's not always good to compare. They are little individuals and they can't be compared. Don't beat yourself up!

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/10/2011 15:21

D eats loads throughout the, he'll snack right up til dinnertime and still eat dinner BUT he's always been an awful sleeper so that makes me feel shit. All our babies are different but as far as I know they are all happy healthy individuals so I really wouldn't worry :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/10/2011 15:22

The day*

Spirael · 21/10/2011 15:47

Yep, totally agree that they're all different! M will eat and eat and eat until she makes herself sick if I just kept providing food (savory or sweet) whenever she claims to want it. So I have to try hard to make sure she doesn't over eat at any given time while making sure she doesn't go hungry.

Her dinner last night consisted of 8 grapes as a snack while I was cooking. Then about half of a mozzarella ball with a plate of gnocchi and sweetcorn in a spicy tomato sauce that was probably about half the size of my own portion. This was followed by half of a double-chocolate brownie (I saw you all pinching them. Wink) with ice-cream and then 8fl oz of milk 30 minutes later after her bath.

This is after already having breakfast, lunch and tea at nursery, with the last nursery meal only an hour and a half before I picked her up!

If she eats this much now, how bad is she going to be as a teenager? Shock Confused

Yet despite all she packs away, she's a skinny little minx and I can't get trousers to stay on her. It was finally starting to improve a few weeks ago when she seemed to have chubbed up a bit, then she started to walk and slimmed down again. Angry Clothes that fit her height are comedically wide - I could stuff a couple of teddies in there with her!

I blame my lanky, scrawny, eat-what-he-likes-and-not-gain-a-pound 'D'H. Envy Envy Envy

Chulita · 21/10/2011 18:33

DH has gone off to his do, all dressed up in his red uniform - cue L: "you look like a postman daddy!" hah! there goes his dignity and self respect Grin

I feel like shite, am going to get the children in bed as quickly as possible and tuck myself up.

G'nite all!

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 21/10/2011 19:12

Lol at looking like a postman! Hope he has a good time.

D slept for over an hour this afternoon, catching up on the missed nighttime sleep no doubt Hmm

Dh is in there now with him trying to get him to sleep, I can hear him crying through the wall. He settles instantly with me but he's got to learn that daddy does it too so I can mn

viksam · 21/10/2011 19:59

chu shame u couldnt go, is that why u feel like shit or do u just feel like shit?
Im with u on the tucking up asap thing, i tidied like a nutter when i came down from putting D to bed, then cooked tea...........well defrosted home made chilli! which is going down quite nicley, then i am offfff tooooo bedddd mannnnn!!
DH phoned at 6 to ask if i minded if he stayed out all night, i actually dont mind a bit, if D has another night like last night id rather dh not be there!
memphis please dont feel insecure about what u do, i only put what D eats so that u guys could maybe help me identify what i could be doing wrong, it doesnt sem that im doing anything wrong and neither are u, its really hard not to blame yourself though, i totally know where ur coming from.
D had a giant explosion nappy of fowl smelling pale yellow poo earlier, and has had bad bad wind all afternoon, now that i think IS my fault due to feeding him quite a lot of fruit today. He was doing really hard poos that were bothering him so i thought id give him fruit to help, and help it did!! But the after effects are windypops galore, i just hope it doesnt get trapped over night. Does anyone use anything for wind or bad tummys?
spirael my goodness thats a healthy appitite for M, is she still sleeping through?
trudy MMMmmmmmmmmmmmm those muffins sound lovely!!!
cake how are things ur end, hope u have a better night with A.
I still have sore ears and throat, i believe its manifesting into a cold now, great!

viksam · 21/10/2011 20:03

dh did he settle with ur dh? What ur gona do tonight if/when he wakes?
Im defo taking the spare duvet in there tonight if its prolonged, i ended up lying on the floor last night next to his cot cos it was pointless getting back into bed.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/10/2011 20:30

Nope he cried for half an hour and dh stormed out his room so I went in there and D settled straight away. He kept jumping in his sleep and waking up so I had to stay in there a while.

I just do the same thing when he wakes in the night, sit next to his bed stroking his head and sshing him. I just hope he's not up for 2 hours again like the last 2 nights.

viksam · 21/10/2011 20:46

Same here for my D dh its such hard work isnt it. This is defo the downside of parenting for me. Sleep is the key, u can deal with anything if you are well rested. And D is so so lovely when hes had a decent sleep, like a different child really.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/10/2011 21:43

You feeling better tonight memph?

Trudy, no panicking going on over there is there????

Trudyla · 21/10/2011 22:01

Just the normal amount mlic [hgrin]. Not too bad actually.

Just when I told you all how well M is eating, she was quite off her food today and is running a temperature. It's the first time ever, that she's had a bit of a fever, poor baby. Hope she'll be better tomorrow.

Hope we'll all be getting restful sleeps. I bid you all goodnight [hsmile]

CakeandRoses · 21/10/2011 23:03

sorry - haven;t disappeared, have been reading but murderously busy with work and trying to keep DCs in line,

will try to post later but if not tomo. sweet dreams y'all.

kkfairybrains · 21/10/2011 23:48

Sounds like rough times all round sleepwise :(
Cakes it doesn't seem like you to be like this at all. I can see where you're coming from with F and definately not nice to hear someone else say it :( hope A gets a let up from these teeth soon the poor little thing.
Vik god I feel for you this is going on with D a while now. Its shit and even shitter cos you're sick and pg.
I'm with memph on the eating and thats why I dont even talk about E's food on here cos I just depress myself. She eats sweet F.A. And it worries me but I try to put it to the back of my head. But then she eats for other people most of the time just not me or dp. Shes too busy to eat it seems. She is talking loads though! we're getting words together now like yesterday she was up on the bed with me and then says 'go...bye bye mammy' and waved and got down. Very cute!
Been mega busy with shit this week. Out with dp and all his friends and their girlfriends for dinner and drinks tomorrow. Not in the mood for it but hey!
Chul that was shit that you couldn't get a sitter. Funny bout L though!

MalibuStac · 22/10/2011 02:27

Hiya all, not posted at all really in ages. Been surrounded with sick kids and loads of college work. Just want to say for teething with R I got a tab from holland and barrett called New Era teething tabs. There's 450 for £6, will post the proper name tomorrow. But R loves them and at the moment she's got 4 teeth coming in, molars maybe Confused. Their small tabs that dissolve and numb their mouth.

You've probs seen on fb that R has been given a steroid inhaler and was so glad to hear from tsc that its helped F's loads.

Loving reading the baby names and glad trudys stuck with Frederick love that name. I have a jack but he was named that before it became popular. R's name has been received well but was given stick on here. I must be a chav/ned lol. Anyway I'm babbling. College is going fab but I'm shitting myself about assessments so hard to fit everything in :(

Wow sorry for the mememe xx

MalibuStac · 22/10/2011 02:51

Even more sorry for being self indulgent after reading everything. Shit sleep still here and memphis R aint a great eater either. Very much a grazer to be honest and your so not a shit mum. trud so sorry your panicking and agree with your dp it will all be fine in fact I'm actually quite jealous of the close age range you, chul, viks, mlisc, cakes and wss all have wish I hadd done it sooner.

viksam · 22/10/2011 06:52

Well having settled D at 9.50ish last night with a dummy, he cried out about twice i think but didnt need attending to, then 4.20 it started and basically didnt end. So i thought, 'right, i have more staying power than you do my boy' ..........hahaha, how wrong was i! I eventually went in at around 5.10 to check him. He wasnt crying all the time its just very on and off. So he was soaking wet.....TUT!!!!!!!!!!!! wish id gone in sooner, theres always something that shatteres ur resolve isnt there!!! so i changed him and sat with him for a while, eventually put him back down for half hour in which time he cried out about 6 times but generally was quiet, so we got up at 6.15 and when he saw his milk he really cried for it so im guessing hes still on catch up given that its only really yesterday that he started eating properly after a week of crackers and toast! I have a terrible headache and sore throat and ears this morning, but sooo glad i went to bed early!
chu how are u feeling this morning.
cake Write to us soon, hope ur feeling a bit more positive, u know i bet its lack of sleep thats making things with F seem much worse than they are.
mylife u were saying u started to give W a bottle at night have u stopped doing that now?
dh what was ur night like?
OMG THe small, must go change a nappy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

viksam · 22/10/2011 07:01

*SMELL!!

Chulita · 22/10/2011 07:25

I just felt like shit viks, couldn't look at food or sit up, whole body aching, falling asleep, headache...I wasn't going to get the flu jab but if I go down properly there's no way I could deal with the children if last night was anything to go by! Just feel really achey and tired today but am going to take it easy. I hate that when you're determined not to go and get them and when you finally do they've done a stinker or something!

stac glad the you got the inhaler, hope it really helps. Sorry about the tough time you're having, keep coming on and telling us about it if it helps!

fairy Shock L didn't start putting words together til she was well over 2! Go E :)

Just for the record, I don't think postmen are without dignity and self-respect Blush just that when you spend £800 on a uniform with sparkly bits on you'd rather be called 'handsome' or somesuch...
