A friend of mine's lo had really bad cradle cap and it is finally shifting by using bicarbonate of soda. Not sure how you do it but sure if you google it it'll tell you.

Babyboy really loves water. There's no way he can get into the bath unaided as it's huge but he usually gets in the shower with me. Of course that's an absolute nightmare atm trying to keep his arm clean and dry :( I know he's really missing his baths but I can't justify £20 on a waterproof cover for the sake of another 2 (max 3) weeks of having a cast on.

Better go change a very smelly nappy and then get them to bed. Might watch a film on LoveFilm tonight

WhatSheSaid · 11/09/2011 21:05

Yeah I think bicarb of soda mixed into a paste with water, leave on head for a bit then wash out. SOunds like it could be a bit messy. The other one that is meant to work is rub olive oil into the scalp - leave - wash out. Probably have to do it a few times.

Well we had an pretty easy weekend, beach with friends on Sat morning, hanging out at home Sat pm, it rained nearly all Sunday so we just went to the library and then a cafe to get out of the house. Dh was meant to be back 1pm Sunday but got to the check in desk 5 mins after it closed and they wouldn't let him on. He had to buy new ticket and got home 6pm in the end.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2011 08:15

I had a v nice time at the spa yesterday. I had a back massage then a scalp massage but would have been better the other way round because the oil she used on my back ended up all in my hair so I had v greasy hair after.

D is transitioning to one nap a day atm somewhere around half 11. Trouble is the nap only lasts about half an hour still. He's sleeping 7-7 at night but still with a few wake ups but I can handle that when he doesn't wake up at 6.

MalibuStac · 12/09/2011 08:21

I used olive oil last night, so should have softened. If not I'll get baking soda. Its not really bad just would rather get rid of it now before it gets worse.

mlisc must be a nightmare for lo not being able to go in the bath. Could you wrap it in cling flim and tie a plastic bag round it?

wss how's A getting on in school now?

Both my kids are loaded with the cold, J's off school but not sure about R as she's just settling in. I'll phone and see what they say.

Hope everyone is good.

WhatSheSaid · 12/09/2011 08:29

She's getting a bit better stac. I'm basically using bribery i.e. a star chart Sad I don't want to have to bribe her to go, I want her to want to go. She gets a star for getting dressed in the morning and a star for going to kindy and at the end of the week she gets a treat - all she wants at the moment is a Kinder Egg every week as she loves the little toys inside.

She did so well last week I took her to the toy aisle in the supermarket and said she could choose what she wanted (well, I was going to put a limit on if it was too expensive). She said "No, just a chocolate egg please Mummy".

I'm staying with her for a while too, so she's not there so long on her own, I think she is getting better, when I left today she was happily playing shop with about 3 other kids.

Massage sounds lovely dh

CakeandRoses · 12/09/2011 12:21

wow - where are you all?! tis quieter than when mlic and i went to cp together!

lovely weekend here - much chilled which is what we needed. cooked sunday lunch for the dh and dd of the couple we're friends with who are splitting up :( the dw was going to see her father to break the news.

about to go over to my friends for lunch - i get a thrill when i'm not having to do the cooking for a change!

stac does R find it itchy?

wss really pleased A is settling down there. so you've got your dh back again? did he miss you all lots?

mlic i did similar to what stac is suggesting with casts in the bath when i broke both my wrists at once.

kk how's E sleeping now?

A was terrible last night - teething again, i knew it before she went to bed as her cheeks were flaming. like tsc i had a good look in her mouth last week and she has loads of partial teeth/about to come thru all over her mouth. i'm sure F got his front ones first.

how;s everyone else?

OP posts:
memphis83 · 12/09/2011 13:28

cakes how did you break both of your wrists at once?
stac ive heard the bicarb paste works well, dh's cousin's (who doesnt give 2 shits about her baby) LO has it so bad it looks like baked beans squashed onto her head, but obviously she doesnt care about her much so isnt going to be bothered about cradle cap, makes me so sad to see her (obviously not just cradle cap she really actually doesnt care about her) :(

Ive been docs about the fanjo, they think it is thrush but she kept asking why are you here what are you concerned about? does your dh pressure you for sex etc I finally clicked that she thought I thought dh was cheating and had given me something, I said my dh finds it hard to talk to me so wouldnt be able to chat up women, im more worried that my fanjo lips my fall off!! Grin
Ive been up since 3am! L was up crying in his sleep most of the night and by 3 I had enough and got up, he then slept til 6, then 8 but I was sitting there worrying about getting my fanjo out!
Been shopping with my mum she got L some new ducks for the bath and some new clothes, I got him yet another book on animals then left it on the roof of the car! but a friend told me before I drove off....she didnt recognise me as im blonde and thinner apparently Grin looked st me weird as I was trying to talk to her!

memphis83 · 12/09/2011 13:29

Oh forgot yo say L did actually cut a tooth last night after all that, finally number 5!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/09/2011 15:24

I'm a little nervous about bedtime - E slept 2-3pm today. I let him because I wanted to do my new killer dvd but I know it'll cause bother later. Ah well, can't have everything

Still cutting tooth no 7 here. It's taking forever as usual

I hate these winds, they really make me nervous. It's the only time I don't feel safe in my house :( Was at the park earlier and E nearly got blown over so we left

PublicHair · 12/09/2011 15:41

i've been busy, fongs is ill again. can't give him any more inhaler now til 7.30 if i need to i have to take him in. Sad
clara starts fucking school tomorrow. can really do with calm approach to this.
Sad

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2011 16:06

Been to the baby group for 20s mums but I'm starting to like it less and less. It's the group those 2 girls go to who blew me off that time and although they're friendly enough they just irritate me. One of them is so loud and over the top about everything and subtley makes people feel sorry for her and it's all about her. We were doing some group rules and she had to write the rules on the flipchart which was right next to my chair and she was talking over the group leaders to someone else is the room but it was like a sonic boom in my ear I was actually cringing cos it was hurting my ears.
There are hundreds of things that annoy me about her but I won't bore u with them all, I was going to go crazy if I didn't get that off my chest though.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/09/2011 16:30

Poor fong :(

memphis83 · 12/09/2011 16:47

ph poor Frankie hope he picks up soon, and that things go well for Clara tomorrow, is she excited yet? Hope she doesnt fight you over the uniform! Hoe did Kate get on with Sixth Form, I used to love sixth form!
mlic the winds are supposed to die down overnight, what DVD? Shred is still in the wrapper here, im making carrot cake cupcakes for my mums birthday so I wont start it til after then!
dh no wonder you are getting annoyed with the group, do you think you have grown out of the group?

We have just been for a walk up the canal as it was sheltered from the wind, dh had L on his back and Starkey was walking ahead and he jumped in! I had just been saying how sad I feel that im not bonding with him and wouldnt be bothered if he ran away :( then I had to do my best Pammie Anderson impression he couldnt swim I had to root around under the water to find him, dh was trying to get L off so he could dive in, I was saying I will jump in, glad I didnt as I had my Uggs and Superdry jacket on! Grin

Woodlands · 12/09/2011 19:33

hope F is feeling better tsc.

Have just put J to bed - he wouldn't feed, was fighting me off, which is very unlike him. We gave him some Calpol (as I think his mouth is really sore from teething, had tried teething gel/powder to no avail) and offered him some cows' milk in a cup but he wasn't interested. I am supposed to be at choir practice (starting now) but I don't feel I can go while he's still awake and crying and has not had any milk (DH has a load of work to do). Hurry up and go to sleep J!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/09/2011 20:02

Has he settled down woodlands?

I applied for a job today Shock

Just a part time one in a school. It was an impulse decision with little to no thought behind it. I don't even know if it'd be worth my while to take it if I even got offered it as the salary isn't very high. But we'll see what fate has in store for me hey :)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/09/2011 20:05

Oh and it's another Jillian Michaels one memph called 6 pack in 6 weeks - it's a killer. I literally sat there open mouthed at times as it goes so fast I couldn't keep up!

Sorry you haven't bonded with Starkey :( Do you feel any different after he was in danger? The whole 'sometimes you don't realise what you've got until you nearly lose it' and all that?

memphis83 · 12/09/2011 20:19

mlic she is the biggest loser workout woman how does she expect people who are massive and havent moved in years to do it! Sometimes applying for a job out the blue without thining about it is a good thing, if you got it you wouldnt have to take it, The job I applied for is still advertised, but they are apparently mass interviewing at some point.
I was actually shocked that I didnt hesitate to save him but I think its because I thought of Memphis like my child so I think of Starkey like a dog so it doesnt feel the same, but I dont want to ever bond with a dog like that again, He is a lovely dog but I have to remind myself to give him fuss somedays which does make me sad, he is dh's shadow though, when he is away Starkey is so chilled out but then when he is here he gets so worked up and excited!

PublicHair · 12/09/2011 21:19

fongs is in bed. he's had max dose of his inhaler at 6.30, if he has to be 're inhalered' by half 10 we've to do it and take him in to A&E

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2011 21:51

Memphis- well it's for mums unto 25 so I could technically go there for another 4 years. I think I went there with an idea in my head that I was going to find someone I got on really well with but I haven't found that.

Mlic- hope u hear back from the job, would def be an exciting turn!

viksam · 12/09/2011 21:55

Hi all,
Had a lovely weekend with my folks, they loved spending time with D and he loved them being around. His 9th and 10th teeth are about to pop through and making him a little out of sorts same as the others on here. cake do u leave the amber necklace on through the night as well?
I went to the nursery on friday and i thought it was lovely, i am going to book a place for D and #2 tomorrow, hope im doing the right thing, i have a very good feeling about this place though, it has an excellent from ofsted and it just seems like a better deal than the child minders. I was so proud of D when we went, he went off and played and even tried to join a little group of older children, he didnt seem phased at all, i said that i would be interested in a place for D as soon as one came up, so we shall see.
This is dead sad now but im really proud of myself because i cooked lasagne tonight for the first time!! and DH ate it AND enjoyed it AND said he would have it again!!!! Result me thinks!! i may be a cook yet!
Hope J went down woods
Good to see u back mylife its not been the same without u.
Bed calling!! night night!!

Woodlands · 12/09/2011 22:30

I went out at 7.50 or so as J seemed to be asleep, and apparently DH hasn't heard a peep since then. Not sure why he didn't want his milk - very unlike him!

glad the nursery and the lasagne were nice Viksam!

memphis83 · 13/09/2011 08:30

viksam well done on the lasagne! Thats one thing DH loves but I hate cooking so I will send him to yours! I know you asked cake but I have left L's necklace on since we got it.
DH it may be a group up to 25 but you seem more grown up than most 21 yo's ive 'met' maybe your just more mature than the other women there?
ph how was your night? god luck today waving Clara off.

We have our first session of Tumble Tots today and an advert for it has just come on and L was jumping around clapping saying baby baby, although the kids were about 4! Hopefully he will like it. Its my mums birthday today, ive made the carrot cake cupcakes I just need to frost them, All the cakes Ive made recently dh doesnt like he says he would like some cookies so may make him some!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/09/2011 14:14

Aw thanks vik!

Well done on the lasagne! Glad you liked the nursery - did they give you any idea how long the waiting list is?

Toddlerama went into nursery for a couple of hours today while I took babyboy to the hospital (cast off a week on Friday btw) and he had a thoroughly good time. Have put him in for baby's next appt for the day (swappwed them over in other words)

I go through periods of leaving the necklace on or not. But when it's on, it's on iyswim. I don't take it off in the bath or at night although I'm not sure why as it doesn't seem to make a scrap of difference to him

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/09/2011 15:45

mlic bet u cant wait for his cast to come off.

I went into town to meet a friend today then went to a new homeware shop and got D some big crayons and a colouring book although he'll probably just eat the crayons.
He's had 2 naps today and seems alot happier so maybe he's not ready for one nap yet.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/09/2011 20:15

No I can't wait dh. Not long now.
