I want out! But I need something permanent AND earning what I earn now. And there's nothing out there at the moment.

Oh you poor thing. Try and take it one day at a time, the right job will come up in time, just got to bide it in the meantime. Or win the Lottery!

Xmas Smile I don't post much elsewhere, this is usually high up on my Threads I'm On!
DH broken up from work now, yippeeeeee! DS being delightful, very dancey today, and climbing into all sorts of things. I want to install a proper climbing wall for him.

Yeah we were saying ds needs a climbing wall, he upturned his babywalker and was trying to climb that the other day Grin

House of ill here, has been one lurgy after another all through december. My fault for saying to dh in november 'we've been really lucky, no real illness since I started back at work in may' or something along those lines, I had it coming after that didn't I

Let me know if you find a good climbing wall thing! I'd like to encourage it, get him to be a parkour champ or something! :)

Since I've broken my phone I've been struggling to post much, though I have been reading.I am having a rare afternoon to myself as DD is at nursery and DH is at his last shift at work so am going to put a christmas film on and make the crackers.

Poor DD had to go the hospital last week as she had a huge splinter down her thumb nail. They had to cut through her nail to get it out which was awful. But she seemed to get over it pretty quickly and was back up to mischief in no time. The first day the christmas tree was up she managed to pull it down twice. Her new favourite word is 'no' with a very exaggerated head shake my family have started to call her taz as she is such a little whirlwind. Last week she got up at 6.30am and didn't go back to sleep until 2.30am the following morning- I am really at a loss at what to do with her terrible sleeping. She wasn't even acting tired and we had been out and about all day so you would think that would tire her out. Anyone got any ideas?

HJ hope something comes up for you with the work situation- or even better your numbers come up on the lottery.
Snow a climbing wall sounds great fun. Your DS would love it.
Tired hope all the germs leave you in peace soon

bp, that sounds horrendous, your poor darling girl. Glad she is ok though, they are tougher than we think.

I need a climbing wall. Maybe I'll win one here: www.mumsnet.com/Polls/christmas-name-change-11 Please vote for me!!! Xmas Grin

Thanks bp, poor dd that sounds painful! Wow at her partying all night antics though, hope you manage to get some tips, ds used to be a dreadful sleeper when he was younger and I know how exhausting it is

Looks like santa will need to bring us a new thread for christmas...

Have voted SnowFun.

Ok, who else still isn't ready? Anyone? Anyone? I still have a few bits to get, everything to wrap, food for some contributions to Christmas Day and all for Boxing Day party to get..... plus we found out today that DP's brother, partner and possibly his Dsis are coming to visit next week. Eek. Nothing like a bit of warning. I'm surveying the toy-strewn wreckage of the playroom and part of this room and feeling helpless.

Merry Christmas though. Oh and BP, not quite the same, but I did manage to cut the top off dd's thumb on Saturday while clipping her nails. NEVER AGAIN. When I say the top, obviously I just mean skin, but the blood was unbelievable. I hadn't done it for yonks because I did exactly the same thing when she was tiny.

Ok, lots to do tomorrow, so really should get to bed. Night all. If I don't make it back on before the big day, Merry Christmas one and all. Ho ho ho Xmas Grin Xmas Grin Xmas Grin Wine !!

Thanks, ft!

Oh my re the nail clippers. Ouch. :( Glad all is ok though.

We only have a few gifts for DS, just need to wrap them, shouldn't take long. Not really got much else to be ready about. Chilling out watching festive films, eating junk. All good! Xmas Grin

Ooh, it is Christmas Eve! Xmas SmileXmas GrinXmas Smile

We are all set, have wrapped the few gifts we got for DS. We abided by the

  • Something they want
  • Something they need
  • Something to wear
  • Something to read

philosophy for his proper gifts from Santa (a tunnel, a jigsaw (the need is educational!), a cute faux-leather biker jacket (soooo adorable!), and a pop up Axel Scheffler book, he'll get a few little bits as stocking fillers (bath crayons, satsuma, chocolate coins), and he has a fab rubber dinosaur from us.
I am getting the Scrabble app for the iPad, as all I want really is another baby (or two (or three))!!! Xmas SmileXmas GrinXmas Smile And a nice big house in the country!

We did thanks. Dd3 totally got into it.squealed at the dolly pram & presents were mainly met by an excited chuckle . She's been stroking her new coat, wearing her backpack around the house & reading her books. Finished opening this morning but all the dds are as enthusiastic about each other opening & us too which makes it nicer.
Dd3 had two huges sleeps yesterday and was knackered last night too. Must be all the stimulation. She got into crackers although couldn't pull them she liked the hats!

Sounds lovely! Ours was nice and quiet, DS liked his gifts, we had a lovely meal, all good.
I have a sore wrist, I think DS slept on it last night! Hope it's better soon.

Hello and I hope you all had a good christmas

I loved seeing ds's excitement opening presents, and playing with his relatives, and christmas lunch was fantastic he sat for a whole hour just quietly eating and watching so we had a lovely relaxed time too. And he spent most of the day sat in a cardboard box being pushed around Grin
However he then developed a serious bout of teething on boxing day (when we do christmas with the in laws), high temperature, not interested in food, clinging to me non stop, poor baby, and we had bil and sil staying at the in laws too, and they are very judgy about me giving cuddles to ds whenever he wants them (!!) So you can imagine all the judgy looks and comments as ds did his clingy monkey act all week...

so I now feel even more frazzled than before christmas, and I didn't think that was possible! Have cancelled plan to go out on new years eve and am going to sit and watch a pile of cheesy films instead Grin
