Love the name!

Check out the book people too

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 27/11/2011 21:29

Great name!

Cute of your DD3 HJ.

Can't name check any more, feeling rubbish. I think I have gastroenteritis. Have been feeling rubbish all day and and even worse if I move. Came back into the house with DD earlier after we'd been to get fuel and She was holding my hand tottering in and I had to suddenly leave her to go and be sick. I turned round and she was very proudly climbing the stairs....

My parents very kindly came over to help out which allowed me to have a kip. DD's been a star although she's teething so she's found eating very hard, even pasta and her favourite, seabass. So all she's had today apart from milk is a baked apple in which I threw some oats to bulk it up a little. I am very very hopeful that she doesn't have what I have.

Makes me feel like a heel for work as I was off last week with a really bad cold!! I am normally very rarely sick! Boo hiss.

HarrietJones · 27/11/2011 21:38

You're the opposite way round to me mock then. I had a tummy bug last week & cold this one.

I'm wavering over work tomorrow. If I don't go I won't get all my visits done this week ( striking on Wed) but can't go and give everyone my cold Confused

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 27/11/2011 21:44

If its anything like my cold don't go in!! Spreading its like biological warfare and just think, if you go sick, then perhaps you won't have to strike......

I wasn't looking forward to getting back into work to hear that we will be backfilling strikers' places of work.........We don't have a trade union, its not allowed.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 27/11/2011 21:45

Ooh, HJ, not having a pop at you for striking by the way! You do what you need to!

HarrietJones · 27/11/2011 22:05

They won't accept self cert for wed so would have to be drs note or strike.

I was awful first thing today but have got better as the day went on. Only been puttering though so different to actual work.
Face v sore now, ears are blocked again, if I'm bad in the am I can't go in but will have to see. [guilty]

tiredfeet · 27/11/2011 23:00

poor you mock, glad your parents could help though. And well done dd on climbing the stairs! Sorry you're suffering too hj I think its so much harder to bounce back when you've got a little one to look after

HoHoHoFunIntended · 28/11/2011 18:03

Oh Mock, poor you. Get well soon. You too, Harriet. Can't imagine how you cope being poorly, with a toddler to run about after.

HarrietJones · 28/11/2011 18:16

Cbeebies and pizza.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 28/11/2011 18:44

Parents Smile. Its soo annoying I am never sick until the last 2 weeks!! I feel loads better today having starved myself yesterday and only eating a little bland food today. DD is fine but a tooth coming through is causing her a great deal of pain. So much that she cannot tolerate even touching her mouth with food. I managed to feed her some porridge this evening after some inconsolable crying.

TribbleToilandTrouble · 28/11/2011 18:49

HJ Feel better soon!!

SnowHunIntended · 29/11/2011 11:42

Can't decide between this name or the other one! Anyway, it's still me!

So, my work update. They have paid me off. This is a great result for me, win win really, as they didn't want me back, and I didn't want to go back. Feel very relieved, and am going to enjoy looking after the little Hun, and any other little Huns we may be blessed enough to have!

Thanks for all the kind support. Really helped. Has worked out well for me in the end. Still wouldn't wish what I went through on anyone though, but now a great result for our family, and I can relax.

I am not going to look for another job, I may try my hand at selling things I make, if I ever find the time (and talent!), and maybe finally getting our website better finished, but we are planning on home educating, so my energies are focused there. Am really excited for that adventure!

BellaDesconocida · 29/11/2011 12:19

Hooray Snow, glad you got a good result from work!

Sending healthy vibes to everyone who's unwell.

Anyone's LOs sleeping through, or is it just mine who still wakes a couple of times a night? She's drinking about 4 oz a time, & I've been advised to reduce it gradually, but she's under the 2nd centile & I'm worried about her losing weight if I do that. Although maybe she'll eat more during the day.

HarrietJones · 29/11/2011 12:20

Congrats Snowhun

You just need your little place in the country now...

tiredfeet · 29/11/2011 12:33

Wonderful news snowhun !! Wish you hadn't had to go through it but at least the battle is over now Smile

I am off work sick, the heating wasn't working at workk yesterday and I just got far too cold. But its dh's day with ds so I am getting lots of cuddles Grin

bella ds still wakes once or twice, although he just did aa stint of four nights sleeping through last week, it was bliss!

SnowHunIntended · 29/11/2011 12:34

Thanks! I have found a wonderful place in the country, possibly achievable if we scrimp and save for the next few years! Though obviously by then it should be off the market! Oh well! Though DH is on a poker mission, and plans to make our fortune playing poker! You never know, we could get lucky!

Bella, DS wakes for a little feed, yes, but I am not much disturbed as we co-sleep. I am no expert at all - perhaps you could ask on the feeding boards?

TribbleTrappedinTinsel · 29/11/2011 16:58

Brilliant news Snowhun!!!! I'm so pleased for you.

bella Ds has just started sleeping through, but occasionally wakes up once for a reassuring pat.

In spirit of the 'you know you have a toddler' thread, I was at work a few weeks back and managed to tell off a particulary difficult individual in my best Mummy voice. I told him what he did 'wasn't very nice' and that he should learn to 'behave himself'.

My colleges still haven't stopped laughing.

SnowHunIntended · 29/11/2011 17:25

Thanks, Tribble. I feel so happy today, like a weight has been lifted. Think we are going out for pizza to celebrate.

Well, that wasn't very clever, was it, young lady!!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 30/11/2011 19:17

Eek I'd dropped off the thread!

Fab news SnowHun (I like the name change btw!) it really does sound like a win win situation for you :)

We are all well, very busy with work and selling our house :) we are not buying a new one just yet-nothing too interesting on the market so just sitting tight for a while!

Dd is trying to run and says a few words - she is so cute, very cheeky. Her big brother is doing well too, enjoying preschool (and causing havoc if you've seen my fb lol)

I cant believe we've all got 1 yo now Grin

HarrietJones · 30/11/2011 19:53

Think I've just been looking at your pictures!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 30/11/2011 21:11

Going downhill again Sad. Hope you're feeling better HJ. Hello everyone else! Will name check when feeling less rubbish.

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 30/11/2011 21:17

However, ill was inspired by SnowHun.....

HoHoHoFunIntended · 01/12/2011 00:48

Ooh, Mock, clever namechange! I am going for HoHoHo, and will switch to Snow when it actually snows.

Get well soon, Everyone.

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 01/12/2011 21:02

I was going to say you should be HoHoHo for Xmas then snow for the rest of the winter! Smile.

Feeling slightly better, but still eating like a bird...not worms and grubs and stuff, just v.small quantities of things and nothing more exciting than rice this evening. DD had more than me of course and a wider variety of food!

She's getting loads more confidence with walking Grin. Its just delightful.

Like your best mummy telling off Trib!

Hope you get well soon HJ and TF Brew for you 2.

Smile at your clever children Seashells.

CONGRATULATIONS Snow!!!! What a great Christmas resolution. Such a shame they put you through such stress when you were pregnant, I bet you hated feeling like that when growing your DS.

Bella DD is still bf'd and 9/10 nights she sleeps through. I think I woke her the other evening as I was crashing about a bit Blush.

Got re-referred for my birth injury! Fingers crossed I get somewhere this time.

TribbleTrappedinTinsel · 02/12/2011 19:54

We've had tummy bugs in our house this week, really not fun at all. We seem to be recovering though. I still feeling a bit ropey though, got tummy ache (on top of aunt flo and heartburn) so I'm sat curled up on the sofa watching others eat food on come dine with me. Would you cook potatoes in sea water?

How is everyone?
