Am keener than ever to escape now, get a nice country home, space, fresh air - probably some hooligans there too though. Maybe time to emigrate.

Ooh, what car are you getting, Spring?

Agree with Trib, just an excuse to be thuggish, to steal and cause mayhem.

Thank you all for your concern. It has reached Wimbledon, oh dear.

If NoHun at any point you want to leg it to Kings Cross and jump on the train, you can come and stay with me in the middle of nowhere. I have plenty of room and you would be more than welcome. Seriously.

That's a kind offer mock I'd like to offer but we are a bit far (& not offering much in the way of space either)

Ty Stay safe.

I'm really hoping that it starts to cool down now, we've got rain forecast so hopefully it will cool people off a bit.

Mock I did have to stare at Tango Uniform before I worked it out, I think I'll be using that one. Grin

Aw, Mock, what a lovely kind offer! Thank you. Seems ok on our road so far. We can go to my mum's if need be. Am very touched, thank you again. x

Ty, hope things are quiet where you are. Well, for all of you.

Think of it as an evacuee destination!

Grin Tribble.

Just put DD to bed and ended up sitting with her reading because it was just lovely and peaceful. Now back downstairs to face the carnage of pasta everywhere, newspaper she rootled out of the bin and all the CDs and DVDs she got out of the drawer under the TV and scattered all over the floor......

Police from our county are deploying to London right now to augment the existing police force. My friend will be one of them. She policed a riot a few years ago and was instructed to 'take' a footbridge' at the time she said she felt dead excited thinking it was the closest she would get to war! She's probably a bit more embittered now. The Sgt told the male colleague with her to look after her. My friend was about 8 inches taller than him and just as strong....Grin.

Mock our county are only sending 20. We are a big county and close to London. I cant believe we would only send 20 Hmm

ty they'll send the more specialised officers BUT there will be officers who have been riot trained but won't have been sent to deal with the troubles. Don't forget they can only spare so many and have to keep people at home as well.

Sometime soon my baby will go to sleep...I'd really like to go and watch the news and see what's going on. It's all a bit of a worry.

NoHun - we live about 35 mins from central London by train but are in peaceful and quite rural Kent. It's expensive to live here but not as expensive as London itself. It works for my DH's commute really well. We just bought a Peugeot 5008, a massive but relatively cool looking car, that seats 7. I say relatively cool...cooler than other's in it's price range but no Ferrari that's for sure.

Mock, I think you've done a lovely thing offering to house any evacuees. You never know, if things deteriorate, we might just all pitch up Grin.

I know I'm a bit late but regarding the iPhone converstation, I just got a 4. The deal was less than I was paying for my 3G and the phone was free. I couldn't wait any longer with my poor old one - it couldn't really even limp. It's very cool and I love it. Maybe we should compare apps, I hardly have any and never have the time to search for them properly.

I feel like the holidays are zooming along, back to school soon Sad.

Ty - Are you still coming to London Friday?

Trib that is true, no point having no police here if trouble kicks off.

Feeling for those in areas where things are happening, it feels so surreal to me as its so peaceful here. If the rioting reaches my little village I will eat ds's enormous green sunhat.... And then show up at mocks house Grin

It is awful seeing the damage they are causing and thinking how fearful they must be making people.

spring hope you are pleased with the new car

spring hope you like the new car. I love the feeling of getting a new car and finding any excuse to drive it. I know exactly what you mean about the school holidays they are going so quickly- I really need to motivate myself to do some planning.
Glad everyone is safe so far. Have heard rumours that things are kicking off in Sheffield but nothing confirmed or on the news so it maybe just people panicking. We are really far out of the city anyway so should be ok, but if not I'll see you at mock's Grin

Do you know, when I was daydreaming one time ages ago, I did imagine a big October meetup, all of us, our OHs and little ones!

We want to move anyway, it is on the cards, just not for a year or so.

SF, enjoy the new car and the new car smell! Mmm!

It is very quiet on our road, much less traffic than usual. Quite nice, actually!

I have a heavy memory foam pillow that is laid on the other edge of the bed. DD wears a sleeping bag so she's less mobile so that works. She only co-sleeps if she's too unsettled in the night as I don't sleep well with her. She sleeps so close to me and wakes so easily that I end up being stuck in the same position all night and end up with very sore back and hips.

Last night she had a rash all over one cheek and ear and it was driving her nuts. My mum put a wash on for me yesterday and she used a cycle on the machine thats very short and I don't think the soap was rinsed properly as when I brought DD in bed with me the rash calmed.

I mentioned last week about my mum not doing BLW...well she also told me that DD drank all the EBM in the freezer. I found most of the EBM shoved to the back of the freezer yesterday. Turns out my mum fed DD formula apart from about 4 feeds of EBM over the 3 days Sad (DD has about 4 bfs a day and sometimes in the night too). When I rang my mum and asked her about it she just said she didn't notice the EBM. I specifically pointed it out to her. I know DD was fine but it does annoy me. Also my mum has started to tell me that I've done so well to bf this far and there's nothing wrong with stopping now and it won't do DD any harm. Yesterday my parents were round and by late morning I made some tea with the intention of drinking it while bfing DD. DD was getting peckish (gnawing a toy with vigour). My mum said to me, does she want a bottle? I said no, she wants me. I got an Hmm from my mum. Its very annoying as my dad is so supportive and seems to know his stuff when it comes to bfing as he mentioned the other day how good it is for building immunity etc.

[grr] at your mum , especially when she's lied to you

Dd3 is in a sleeping bag between me & a bed guard . She's trying to climb over it, me & down the bed. I get stiff too so she's only inwhen she's not sleeping well.
