Hi sorry I have been quiet, I have been ill. Seems like I'm not the only one!

Sophie stood up today without touching anything and walked a step or two. She is really trying now Xmas Grin

HarrietJones · 03/12/2011 14:11

Feeling Christmassy today. Been to school Xmas fair, been wrapping presents & put tree up whilst dd3 was asleep on dh. Not done the secs yet though just built the tree!

HoHoHoFunIntended · 03/12/2011 16:15

Great minds, Mock! :)
Work was horrid whilst I was pg with DS, but it's really worked out great, seeing as I wasn't going back anyway.

Hope all the poorly people get better soon.

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 03/12/2011 21:27

DD is poorly now. Quite a high temp. Don't know what it is. She was shivering earlier poor little thing. She's in bed with a long sleeved vest on, sleepsuit, bag and blanket and I have just checked on her and she feels comfortable, so i think I judged it right. It appears that she has moved just one arm since she went to bed.

HoHoHoFunIntended · 03/12/2011 21:39

Oh poor Little Mock. Hope she gets better soon.

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 03/12/2011 21:55

Xmas Sad I know.

On the plus side, just ordered a christmas tree for hire from the little tree company and an eco decorating pack Xmas Smile. Cut dried oranges, satsumas, limes etc, popcorn garlands, solar lights, wooden toys etc. The pack shoudl last years and every year we can eagerly await the delivery of our tree thats been looked after all year Xmas Smile Xmas Smile. Can't wait!

HoHoHoFunIntended · 03/12/2011 22:22

Sounds very eco! Xmas Smile

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 03/12/2011 22:47

Oh poor dd Mock Xmas Sad
Your eco tree sounds cool, have you got a link please? Xmas Smile

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 03/12/2011 22:56

hereYou can get lots of different sizes to suit location and budget. I see the dec pack as a long term investment and I think its really worth hiring to avoid killing a tree for just a couple of weeks of pleasure ( I am ridiculously fanatical in my opinions about this kind of thing...that and proper sustainable fishing-no horrible farms, no nets etc).

tiredfeet · 03/12/2011 23:30

Oooh mock I'm off to check out that website ...

Ds met father christmas today at his nursery christmas fair. He was pretty unsure about it! However his key worker was santa's helper and he was over the moon to see her Grin.

Have been wrapping presents tonight, very exciting! We haven't been extravagant at all, as I think ds would be overwhelmed by too much at once, plus I suspect certain family members will spoil him rotten!

Hope your dd feels better soon mock

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 04/12/2011 08:54

Mock that site looks fabulous! Thanks for the link. We always have a real tree, as it's very traditional in Norway...dh used to go into the forest and choose one with his dad and grandpa. It's not so practical here lol or sustainable Grin

HarrietJones · 04/12/2011 09:52

We don't have a real tree. We are on year 8 of our current one.last one got wrecked by dd2 diving on it from the settee Hmm
our decs are v random kids made/stuff my mam got from Xmas markets/odd baubles that people didn't want any more!

Took dd3 to see Santa yesterday at the school fair.she was ok last time with dd2 to be brave but this time she wouldn't go near. She didn't want the present & I'm pretty sure dd2 would so weve put it on her pile!

I wrapped loads of presents last night. Nearly all done. Used all the heavy tins of Choc & bottles of beer towedge the tree in!

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 04/12/2011 10:04

Goodness, you're all very proactive! I have bought one present so for for my niece!

DD still not well with temp now of 102.7. Sad.

HarrietJones · 04/12/2011 10:09

Poor thing :(

I do all my shopping & wrapping so it's done by the time the girls finish school as I can't get time then . Dh has his op booked for the week before Christmas too so will be out of action for a few days.

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 04/12/2011 10:51

[nosy emoticon] what op if you don't mind me asking?

Popped DD into bed while I had a shower and came out to find her gently swaying whilst sat upright, dried my hair, came back to find her asleep in the frog position. She must be feeling rubbish as she never naps in bed.

HarrietJones · 04/12/2011 11:01

Something to do with tendons in his hand. Not sure on details. He won't be able to use his hand for a few days at all then recovery is up to 6 weeks. He doesn't get sick pay but would have been off for bank hols from one of his jobs( most strenuous one) so should work out ok that way. Means I'm likely to be doing most of Xmas dinner witha back seat cook though!

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 04/12/2011 11:40

I hope he recovers fast!

floozietoozie · 04/12/2011 14:45

Hello all. Mock you're not alone. I have bought nothing yet. I'm going easy on the shopping this year. I bought ds too much last year (by my standards) and am not making that mistake again, particularly as it's his birthday two weeks later. Dd is getting one thing I think. We have a roomful of toys already for her to play with. I swore I wouldn't end up with loads of plastic tat [shakes older and wiser head sadly]; now at least I can try to limit its proliferation!

HohohoFunIntended (you do realise people could misinterpret that name, don't you Grin Grin), well done on getting out of hell workplace.

On phone so will keep it short.

HoHoHoFunIntended · 04/12/2011 15:24

Hee hee, floozie, you are right! I still like my name though!

We are only buying for DS. The adults in my family don't do presents any more, there is nothing we need, and I don't like stuff for the sake of stuff. We have got DS a few small things that he'd get anyway, and that's it. Nice and easy.

HarrietJones · 04/12/2011 15:39

We do a lot of 'stuff you'd get anyway' . Knickers( incl dd3 thus year!) toothbrush, orange, choc orange, new penny all compulsory stocking items.dd1 has loads of stationary for school( but nicer stuff than usual!)

Clothes/things for the year ahead as we've all got autumn/winter birthdays.

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 04/12/2011 17:27

Dd can walk with her buggy walker! I am so happy Xmas Grin

HarrietJones · 04/12/2011 18:41

Just seen the video!

GoodMocKingWenceslas · 04/12/2011 19:26

Well done to your DD Ty! Just you wait, she's be using to run with next!

tiredfeet · 04/12/2011 22:17
