Hi,
Thought I would start us a postnatal thread. Were still in hospital, here till Tuesday monitoring dd (now named Eva) and giving her the anti biotics. Im missing dd1 loads as I only get to see her at visiting and trying to contain a toddler on the ward is tough.

OP posts:

How have you been for the rest of the week sarge hope it got easier.
We went out for new year with some friends and left Euey with my parents overnight. I spent the first hour in tears!!
He absolutely LOVES Bella (springer) and she loves him. She's only 6 months older than him, so will be nice for them to grow up together. They're like 2 peas in a pod!!!

Well, have to drop the cot again!!! Euan has started standing in it on the middle setting as of this morning. He's been trying for ages, but has finally done it!!! So proud of him :o

Had an offer accepted on a house back in the midlands this morning. Has taken 2 days of battling it out. Soooo excited. We currently live 3.5 hours away from everyone, we're in west wales, but will be moving within a 10 min walk of my mum and dad!!
Love the house, it is huge!! Except Euans room is currently totally pink!!!

Hi guys (I used to post under MrsVidic)

Wow KLou standing unaided already! He's doing well!

Well since last posted we have completes on our house and are in rented as we got gazumped. But are now buying an even nicer house! Some yhings happen for a reason I tell ya! Wink

Well baby Eva is trying to crawl- rocking and then slumping! It's so cute as my dd1 is cheering her on!

Eva's sleep went a bit haywire moving house but cc sorted it and she's fine again. She only has 1 nap during the day though (doesn't want to miss anything!)

I'm working 2 days a week (have been since feb and she loves nursery). It's the biggest relax I get

WhispersOfWickedness · 25/04/2012 16:00

Hi everyone Smile

We are good here, Rosa is now crawling and pulling herself up. Had a scary week where she couldn't get down again so would just let go and hope for the best but thankfully she has now learned to get down again, phew!
At last weigh in, she was 16lb 12oz, a bit smaller than DS who was over 20lb at the same age!
Hope everyone else is well Smile

Hi Sarge!
Yes, Rosa is still having milk in the night, I'm not too worried yet, although the health visitor has started grumbling about it.. Not that I take much notice, her knowledge on breast feeding and weaning is terrible, I only go to get Rosa weighed!
Great to hear about the cruising, Rosa can't quite manage that yet, she's a bit stuck once she has stood up!
Hope everyone else is ok! I can't wait for the weather to be better so I can get out the dc's cute summer outfits Grin

KLou111 · 29/04/2012 20:16

Hi all pretty self centered post. Euan started crawling today woohoo!! Honestly didn't think he would as he's constantly on his feet, and has started sporting the ape pose this week (straight legs, bent over hands flat to floor.)
Going on hols tomorrow, out the house for 5.30am so not great there!!
The sky remote is a firm fave here too sarge so I bought Euan his own, was £3 from Wilkinson, bright yellow lol.
Can't help with the night milk, Euan stopped before Xmas at 4 months, his last feed being 6.30pm. I weaned him early so that may have helped.
Take care all x x

neverlookback · 01/05/2012 11:33

sarge dont worry Willow still having 1 or 2 bottles a night it drives me mad at times she just doesnt like it in the day and if shes doesnt have much at bedtime (7pm) she will wake at 11 - 12pm and then again at 3-4am!! sometimes she will go from around 12-1am till 7am. my ds was exactly the same and only started sleeping 12 hrs when he was walking properlt at 15 months so i might have another 8 months of it!!! hv says do controlled crying but shes so hungry i cant!!

Leilandri · 03/05/2012 09:23

Haven't posted for a while, but have been reading

Leo will be 9mo on Tuesday (where has the time gone?!) He is still waking occasionally for milk during the night, about 1 out of 3 nights, but he is starting to sleep through 6.30pm til 6am 2 nights out of 3, so we're getting there.

He can sit unaided now, and pulled himself up to standing in the bath last night, but he hasn't learnt how to sit up from lieing down yet, or crawl so he is doing things arse about face in his own way! He is happiest though when walking about holding onto fingers :)

Feeding is going well. He is on a combination of puree's and finger food. Usually has milk at 6am, then breakfast (baby weetabix/rusk with fruit puree and more milk) at 8.30. Lunch (1/2 jar savoury then small yogurt, followed by fingerfoods of fruit/veg sticks and toast/pitta with water to drink) at 12. Tea is at 4.30 (finishes the jar from lunch, followed by custard or icecream with chopped up fruit pieces and milk to drink) then bedtime bottle at 6.30.

I'm getting really broody, so I'm selling all our baby stuff, and clothes as Leo grows, so that it'll cost too much to have another! 2 boys is quite enough!
DS1 had chickenpox last week and over the weekend, so waiting now to see if Leo gets it. Would be nice to get it early!

Hope everyone is keeping well x

Aww, Sarge, I think Rosa and Bertie have been having words, she had one night of sleeping through this week and then back to waking once a night again! Still, at least it's a step in the right direction Smile

Leilandri · 12/05/2012 21:04

I take back my previous comment about wanting Leo to get chickenpox early.
Sure enough he caught it off his older brother, and he is miserable :( He has been sick, isn't eating or drinking, and is absolutley COVERED in spots :( :(

Can't wait until he starts to feel better, I miss my smiling little man. x

Leilandri · 12/05/2012 23:07

Have added a couple of new photos :)

WhispersOfWickedness · 13/05/2012 07:52

Aww, poo Leo Sad Hope he feels better soon, it must be awful Sad

I'm absolutely dreading my two getting it.

neverlookback · 13/05/2012 21:10

I have totally had enough of getting up in the night so on Wed ive embarked on "sleep training" Willow which is basically controlled crying in the night and not giving her a milk, i waited 10 mins before going in to make sure she wasn't going to get herself back to sleep then i went in sushed her patted her and came out i did it 4 times and it took about 45 mins then she went back to sleep till 7.20, night 2 the same but i only went in 3 times and her crys were more like moans, 3rd night she SLEPT THROUGH!!!!! and 4th night she didnt drink hardly any milk at bedtime so i dream fed her at 9.30 and then she slept throught again We are amazed!! apperently the 5th night there can be a bit of a regression and she again didnt drink her bedtime bottle so i think ill have to dream feed her in a min, i would like to leave it but if she wakes in the night and i know she didnt have her last bottle i know im going to be more likely to give in! what would you do? any advice on when she doesnt drink her last bottle, she has eaten a lot today and had lots of carrots and broccoli while we ate? ive got everything crossed we have sorted it as it was really beginning to get me down, im so grumpy to everyone and horrible to the kids so i really want to get some sleep and get back to normal!!

hi since i did it she has not had milk again in the night, she slept through for 6 nights in a row and then as her big front teeth broke through she woke for around 5 nights in a row and cried/ moaned for an hour i gave her calpol and just kept going in every 10 min and sushing her, it was really hard not to give her a bottle! but since then she has slept through 12 hours every night!!! if she wont drink any milk at bedtime, i have sometimes dream fed her at 9.30 - 10pm and she has then slept through, but sometimes she doesnt want it then its defo working, message me your email address and ill try and forward you the book i downloaded, i paid £25 for it but it is everthing you already know but its just explained really well, not sure if it will somehow be blocked or copyrite protected but its worth a try? x
she is not also totally refusing to be spoon fed so its all finger food which im worrying shes not getting enough meat, when you give meat when blw how do you do it? she will have spag bog blended up and sometimes chicken and veg but no jars whatsoever!

hows everyones little ones doing? hope little leo is better now from his chicken pox :( must be horrible, none of mine had it yet i am dreading it when they get it!

is anyone elses baby not crawling, pulling up or anything yet? rafiq is not. im normally quite chilled and not too worried about these things, but my ds2 is in the process at the moment of having assessments for special needs he has developmental delays, and the first thing we noticed, he was slow on the all the motor - so maybe makes me more aware n anxious about these things now??

rafiq is coming up 10 months, on the 6th..
he gets on his front alot, tries to go to all fours, rocks back and forth - but not yet even in the stage of crawling backwards
is ne1 else's doing similar?

tbh it makes my life easier for the moment that he cant get around everywhere! but still sometimes start to worry a little bit

hi, firwala, willow has no real interest in her legs at all, she think they are just for bouncing! she can push along in her walker and bounce in her jumperoo but she can pull her self up at all, she can sit unaided and roll over, when shes on her front she doesnt really push up at all with her arms, she can get her knees up a little bit, she is 9 months on 30th. So i would try not to worry but mention it to your doc or HV to put your mind at rest they will totally understand, how old is your ds2? its so worrying being a parent, hope you ok x
thanks for those ideas sarge, shes had a fish finger today and loved it, will have to get some homemade ones on the go tho, spinich muffins, do you do a normal sweet muffin mix and add it or is it a totally diff recipe?

Leilandri · 27/05/2012 22:39

Hi all :)

Leo is on the mend, most of his spots have gone, tho 2 have left scars that I can see, 1 by his ear and 1 on his forehead :( He has plunged straight into a bout of V&D though, so is currently on nothing but water and dialoryte. Not sure if it is the heat affecting him, his teeth or just a bug but he hasn't eaten anything solid for 3 days now, and no milk either - poor lil man is hungry, but it just comes back up - so more water for him :(

firawla Leo will be 10mo on the 8th. He can sit unaided, and can get onto his tummy from sitting, but can't sit up from lying down yet. He can pull himself forwards on his tummy (tho he hates doing so!) and he is slowly getting the idea to go up onto all fours, but he goes backwards when he tries Hmm
He will walk about quite happily while holding onto fingers, but will just cling to the sofa and not cruise, and he's not pulling himself up yet either.

I wonder if sometimes, because he's a 2nd child, whether he is slower than DS1 to do things because I can't dedicate as much 1on1 time with him as I could with DS1. But then I feel guilty, so I just figure that everyone is different and he will get there in his own good time. And when he does I'll be wishing that he was still saying put Grin

Firawla · 27/05/2012 22:40

never my ds2 is 2 and half

good to hear other babies are doing similar. he is very social and happy, just not on the move at all!
