Reastie, thinking of you and your grandad.
Four, glad your lots better after your infection.
Jane, I'm very shocked that your parents haven't given anything in Zoe's memory, not so much about the wedding. Are you close to them?
We also have nothing planned today, Noah is napping on the bed next to me at the moment. I had planned on taking him swimming, but really can't be arsed today. Might just walk to Sainsburys and eat cake instead!
I will keep up with my running for the month of September, rather than shred, for our wobbly bits challenge.

ILovePonyo · 08/08/2011 11:23

BEEBO! Back from a lovely break, A had the best time at her g'mas by the sound of things, wasn't even that excited to see us when we got back little bugger

I'm off to catch up (and should prob unpack too) but thought you would all want to know A is now the proud owner of a Sophie la Giraffe Grin A french lady my mum is friends with bought it for dd and some clothes, very kind, of course the first thing I thought of was letting you all know haha.

Back later xx

wigglesrock · 08/08/2011 11:35

ILovePonyo I wasn't going to mention it, due to the Sophie haterz Grin, but Anna has been having real trouble with her teeth/mouth and Sophie is the only thing that is helping her at the minute Grin Worth its very expensive weight in gold!

Four4Me that's a pity about your sister, where has she moved too?, don't worry if you don't want to say. She'll be fine, does she have work friends? You need to take care of yourself, between your tooth and kidney/bladder infection, you need some r 'n' r, I think you should come over and see me your sister Grin

We decided to have a High School Musical marathon, on the 2nd film, Olivia still in her jammies, just had crisp sandwiches yum Grin .

wiggles I think you are right. Think two preg in close succession has taken it's toll. Dh wants me to put A on the bottle and get myself 'fighting fit again'. Thomas and Joseph are only 14 months apart and I don't remember feeling so run down then. But I was in my 20's then! My sis has moved to some where called Old Bakers Court, the postcode is a BT6 if that makes more sense? What a good idea, she has moved into a nice apartment building with underground parking and a onsite gym. She has a good job and has decided to treat herself. I am coming for some dsis and wiggles r n r!!

In fact will get a break this week, as dh and I are going to London with ds2 Joey (6) and Archie to the Natural History Museum and Buck Palace. It is not something Thomas would enjoy and so him and Imogen (nearly2) are staying for two nights with dpil. Where they will run totally wild and have a blast! Be so nice to spoil Joey, he is one of lifes good eggs!

wigglesrock · 08/08/2011 12:15

Four4me BT6 is lovely, good on her, an onsite gym, think thats what I need!! Weekend sounds lovely, nice to spend some time with Joey.

We are taking Sofia and Olivia to Dublin Zoo on Wednesday for the day, my mum is having Anna, she's vvvvv excited - my Mum that is Grin

well the banana finger food was a bit of a disaster! It was too slippy and she sucked a big chunk into her mouth and then a lot of gagging and choking noises followed by vomit. She cried as I think she had scared herself (and us!) a bit. So need to rethink. Will try the organix snacks that you're Ledkr mentioned. We're doing roughly three meals, porridge for breakfast, vegis for lunch and fruit for tea, but I want the tea to become finger food type stuff if poss.

reastie sorry to hear about your grandad. Thinking of you.

wiggles it's hard being in that in between stage with toys. Maybe whisk and wooden spoon are the way to go!

Deb hooray for good second night of CC.

Ponyo glad you had a nice hols.

I had hardly any sleep last night. No idea why, not cos of C, I just couldn't get into a proper deep sleep. Was hoping C would have her normal long sleep this lunchtime but she has just woken after 20 minutes for some reason (she normally has two hours at this time). Will ignore leave her for a bit and see what happens.

reastie · 08/08/2011 13:33

Thanks for all the thoughts re: grandad - could be a while yet though - just depends Confused . needto I have a photo of my granny and grandad with alice already. I hope to visit him in hospital on wednesday depending on how he is.

I agree with wiggles re: sophie - she is a massive hit with me alice - she slobbers and chews on it loads and the normal teething ring gets ignored completely. Alice currently in her travel cot downstairs clawing on the sides of it Shock

d Shock re: gaggin on banana. I am getting so scared at giving alice 'proper' baby food now. Think I might have to buy shares in organix Wink

44me :( to your infections. Hope you will soon be on fine form and enjoy london

ponyo I v glad a good time was had by all at the week end

ems I hope lots of cake at sainsburys has now been consumed Wink

Deliaskis · 08/08/2011 14:14

Just remembered, I have another weaning question that I know I really should ask on the weaning board but don't want to get told off as C is not quite 6 mo yet...

She's had loads of veg, rice, fruit etc. and three times I have tried her with a jar that had a bit of chicken in (one third of a small Hipp jar, containing 8% chicken), so really a tiny amount. She liked it and chomped the lot, but the first two times I thought she was a bit unsettled a couple of hours later, and the third time she was downright poorly and threw up little bits all afternoon. What would you do? I'm not sure if it was the chicken, although I was keeping my eye on her as it was the only thing that was 'new'. I mean I would think it's unlikely she's actually going to have any kind of intolerance to chicken, as it's fairly benign, but I don't want to keep making her poorly. Would you keep trying once a week? Lay off for a few weeks? Try other meat/protein? It's the only meat/other protein she's had (not had cheese yet) so I'm a bit wary of giving her anything else as I would have thought chicken would be the best 'first' try of meat?

Any thoughts appreciated.

reastie I know what you mean re how scary it is trying new stuff. I feel like I'm fine with fruit veg and cereal mushy stuff, but that's it so far. Finger food did not have a good start and neither did chicken!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 08/08/2011 16:11

delia not sure what to say but will be watching for advice from others with more experience as B has had diarrhoea today and not sure if it's connected to eating habits.

Just a quick post from my mum's to say thank you for the Organix recommendations, B LOVES carrot sticks and apple rice cakes. He's outdone himself today by having porridge whilst smiling today too [happy and relieved mum emoticon]

wigglesrock · 08/08/2011 16:54

deliaskis I'm not sure why but last week A was a bit out of sorts and reading your post wondering if maybe it was a different taste/ something different in her tummy. Don't think its chicken per se but could just be her tummy reacting to something new. I'd be tempted to try it again, I've given Anna a pasta bolognese type thing from Hipp and she loved it. If A has mango and a bottle close together, it makes her a bit upchucky Hmm.

NeedToSleep A had something with prunes last week and had a touch of diarrhoea, could it be teeth?

Dilly has just eaten spaghetti with ragu. She shoved it in her mouth for a bit and then i pureed itGrin
I didnt get on with banana either, far too slippy. i love the organix they sorted my weaning probs out.

WeAreBorg · 08/08/2011 17:41

Hi all,

Thanks for all your thoughts for Nate, he is fine now. Sleep has gone completely to pot though, had 2 nights of sleeping in my arms and crying at the slightest movement, last night we managed 2hourly wake ups and at least he was in bed so hopefully getting a bit better.

delia agree chicken is benign, I'd probably try in a week or so like you thought, maybe do your own so you know there is nothing else in it she might be reacting to?

reastie thinking of you and grandad, hope he is comfortable.

44me poor you, that sounds horrible, hope you are feeling better.

Will post a bit later as DH wanting attention (not THAT kind), he's been on nights so desperate to play and is impossible to concentrate on what I'm writing!

debka · 08/08/2011 20:00

borg glad to hear Nate is better :)

reastie :( about your grandad, hope he isn't suffering.

Disgusting dog update (those weak of stomach look away now)- went to put Imy to bed at Granny's, when we came back there was a strong smell of poo and he'd taken Imy's pooey nappy from earlier out of the bin and had a nibble then done a massive poo himself on the floor. Yuk yuk yuk,

S was crying during teatime tonight, v unlike her so I calpoled her and rubbed some bonjela on her gums and she went on to eat an entire weetabix plus some starwberries and yoghurt!!

ledkr looked on weetabix website, they said although it's not designed for babies it is fine for babies over 6mo as it is low in sugar and salt. They also said that at that age babies wouldn't be eating an entire weetabix... Hmm not met my girl!!

wiggles on the subject of weetabix (golly I'm fascinating), I do S's mixed with half milk and half juice and she likes it much more.

wigglesrock · 08/08/2011 20:18

WeAreBorg hopefully that is Nate on the mend now, take care of yourself, you must be knackered xx

debka trying A again with the 'bix in the morning, I haven't been able to fill her today, she's had 3 meals, snacks and about a million bottles Shock Deffo teeth time!

OP posts:
debka · 08/08/2011 20:38

wiggles S has been the same, she's had 7 feeds today, way more than normal but I have been starving her at night Grin

Four4me · 08/08/2011 20:41

borg so pleased that Nate is better.

Delia I'd leave that particular Hipp jar for a while and try it again in a week or so.

Thanks for the well wishes, went back to doctors today and I have got another five days of antibiotics. Bloody sick of taking pills.

Anyway the exciting news is that Archie pants has two teeth! Yeah I didn't even think he was teething yet, just think poor Sophie giraffe has missed out on some gnawing!

wigglesrock · 08/08/2011 21:21

Four4me 2 teeth, ouch Grin, keep taking the tablets Grin

Ive just been on an inpromptu pissup night out with my best friend. We demolished 2 bottles of wine and a meal, missed bus,had to get a cab and joked with the driver about taking us to a local retail park as we were angry and wanted a tv,he knew not of what we spoke,i asked him if he was dead?
My friend was funny and shouting at me that we had only had half a night as we were home by 11.30 Grin

debka · 09/08/2011 06:12
