debka · 06/08/2011 23:06

Well watched the film with DH, went to bed at 10.30, couldn't believe S hadn't woken- you guessed it, 10.42, the first cries. I was trying to rest through it but it's hard!

jane only 15weeks! Wow!

debka · 06/08/2011 23:39

It's now 11.36 and she's been quiet for a few minutes. Almost an hour of crying, poor mite. Think I'll try and get some sleep now before the next bout.

(BTW 1hr crying still better than previous nights)

ledkr · 07/08/2011 04:59

Dunno about Deb but im currently watching the Totenham riots cos D woke randomly at 4 and is still awake.I gave her some milk and she is back in bed,id docc but she isnt c,just thumping her legs and shouting.I feel a bit pissed off if im honest.Dh is sleeping cos to be fair he has work at 7am,not really sure what to do Hmm

debka · 07/08/2011 05:28

You still up l?

debka · 07/08/2011 06:01

Quick update- after her hour of crying she was quiet for 15 mins then cried another 1/2 hour. Then 40 mins quiet and cried again but it was 1am and so I fed her, she was hungry. Straight back to sleep till 5.15 which is when she's been waking for the day. She wasn't crying, just awake so I got her up and fed again. She was rubbing her ears and closing her eyes so I put her back in bed after that feed and after 10 mins of crying all is quiet again!

ledkr hope Dilly went back off for you and you're now asleep in bed. I'm going back to bed too now.

debka · 07/08/2011 06:14

Hmmm... shouldn't have posted so soon, happy baby noises again after 10 minutes so it's officially morning here.

MizK · 07/08/2011 08:08

hi girls, nice shiny new thread!

debka go you with CC - it'll pay off I'm sure, cause no one can function on the amount of sleep she was letting you have!

wiggles JLS? Euw! They wear sparkly nana jumpers and deep cleavage tops, grim!

jane nice to hear you are having lovey dovey vows! have to admit that that's one of the many aspects of getting married that I find terrifying - I know I'd feel so nervous saying the vows in front of everyone.....

borg sorry to hear about the croup, must be scary. All I know is that putting them in the bathroom and filling it with steam is meant to ease the wheeziness?

Big wave to everyone else particularly those of us who've been up a while - we have been up since 6 and I've just been watching the Sopranos - nice light hearted start to the day....

Can you all wish me luck please? Am headed off on European adventure tonight - driving through France and Spain - will be in Paris this time tomorrow whoop! older DCs off to Turkey for a fortnight with GPs so Cass, DP, Dsis and her bf are off on a road trip. Had to go somewhere as we are having our bathroom done so have no shower or bath, and only a half completed downstairs loo to keep us sane - having to shower at family/friends places has been fun :(

\v scared about Cass in the heat, but hoping she enjoys her first hol.
wiggles is it OK to make up formula with boiled water in spain, or did you take loads of cartons to Ibiza? Sorry if idiotic question!

40Weeks · 07/08/2011 08:38

Ooh mizk sounds fun I am sure you will have a brill time. I am sure that bottled water in Spain has a symbol on it if ok for babies, as some has too much sodium. My dsis used to live there and so we visited a fair bit. It's quite an obvious symbol, but I can't remember exactly what it is. Sorry, still eds boiling though. Have fun!

ledkr · 07/08/2011 09:10

Hi all, well she went back to sleep about 5-7 i couldnt really and dh got up at 6.30.Am in bed now having tea and letting her roll around my floor,im knackered. It seems she is better if goes down abit later so am going to have to do that for abit and then bring bedtime back by asmall amount everynight. Not that partial to kids around me past 8 tbh.
mizk that will be great. Are you getting ferry or tunnel.Dilly is ok in the heat despite her gingerness. Factoe 50 and lots of shade.I use the pram parasol and just lay it on the ground. We went with Ella when she was 5.We stayed with my brother who is a traveller and lives in a lorry!
Its all kitted out-ish. Id only just met dh and ended up having food poisoning and having to shit in a bush!!! I was convinced hed go off me. We had agreat time tho,Ella dressed up everynight to eat dinner in a lay by Grin

reastie · 07/08/2011 09:22

morning,

too much to comment on everyone I'm afriad Blush

:( to bad nights sleeps and crying

ledkr and wiggles I was listening to a london radio station in the night last night and they had a policemans widower wife saying her dh had a long shift and then required at the last min to work 7 hrs at the end of the shift because of the riots Shock - made me think of both of you and how hard it must be to be married to a policeman Confused

mizk have a fab time Envy

needto how are the cramps? Please please let me know what's involved in a check of coil fitting as I have mine tomorrow and am now scared Hmm . Tbh I think they will tell me to have it removed as I'm still getting loads of terrible cramps and the medication they gave me only works so well and only when I'm taking it and I can't take it all the time for years Shock . I have a really odd cramp today :( btw love the pirate piccie Grin

40weeks I'll follow you clutching my leather sofa for fighting off the enemy Wink Grin

borg hope all is OK there. Never heard of croup before

knitta what kind of side effects does it say? I always scare myself by reading side effects - I even got out the induction pessary leaflet in hospital when being induced from the bin in my room after the nurse left Shock Confused and scared myself by that

If I hold alices arms up she can sit herself up and then stand up too Grin she's still loving rolling over in the cot and getting stuck a week on though Confused

Emski76 · 07/08/2011 09:59

Wow, Need to, Ben is simply yummy!
Debka, hope your ok after your night of cc.
Well, our day out had been cancelled, so I swiftly thought and managed to get the boys out of the house by 8.45! and off to the in laws for the day, yippee! An unexpected day of rest for me.
Noah is almost sitting up by himself now. He can do it if leaning almost double over his legs and balancing with his hands. He looked like a little Buddha when sitting up naked last night!
Hope you all have good days and that this miserable weather clears up!

janedoe25 · 07/08/2011 11:02

mizk your holiday sounds fab! Hope you all have a great time Grin

well done debka with the cc.

needto love the pirate picture, Ben is so cute!

ledkr hope you have a relaxing day.

Hi reastie and emski

janedoe25 · 07/08/2011 11:03

oops, sorry

wigglesrock · 07/08/2011 12:10

Up at my mums, hiding in "the study" or what most people would call a box room to avoid setting the table, some things never change Grin.

MizK I brought powdered formula and made up the bottles as I would at home with bottled water. Evian is recomended but I used a Spanish brand of water called Fontenella, if there is a picture of a baby on the side you're grand to use it. Bring your own swim nappies, they are really dear in Spain, but I just used local brand nappies, wipes etc to save me bringing them. Have a fab time, take lots of pics, I'll be skulking about most of the afternoon, if you want to ask anything else, no matter how silly Grin

OP posts:
ledkr · 07/08/2011 12:29

I do thst wiggs,go off to change the baby or something, cant be doing with all that dishing up nonsense,i just want to eat fgs Grin

wigglesrock · 07/08/2011 12:56

I know ledkr, my dad is faffing about in the garden with S&O, so Anna and I are playing computers, well she is banging seven bells out of a calculator, looks like she's inherited my maths brain Hmm

She hasn't slept at all today yet, flucuating between squealing, crying, blowing bubbles and laughing, she also keeps making a low humming noise Hmm

reastie that happens to Mr W a lot, because he's 999 response, if they get an emergency call just before their shift ends, they need to stay with the call. So anyone planning on speeding, robbing a bank etc best time to do it 4.50pm on a Friday, don't say I don't pass on any good tips Grin

NeedToSleep great photos, he's gorgeous

Off to have a cuppa, took S&O to mass this morning, I don't usually bring Olivia, I had obviously forgotten why, lets just say won't be making that mistake again, "I need a big poo now", "is it over yet?", "how long left" etc Blush

wigglesrock · 07/08/2011 14:36

MizK meant to say does Cassia have a passport, if not it might be an idea to take a photocopy of her birth certificate. There was a thread on here months ago, saying someone was asked for id for the baby in France.

OP posts:
MizK · 07/08/2011 16:33

wiggles ta for help re making formula, one less thing to stress over! Yes we got her a passport thank goodness, actually she looks v funny in the pic like a little sumo! You are v brave taking a little one to mass, potential for evil eye from pious old ladies is immense! I remember having a coughing fit during one of the latin singing bits when i was little and being hissed at by a row of behatted Irish and West Indian grannies!

emski hope you are making the most of your peaceful day.....

ledkr your holiday sounds funny, layby dinners and all! And fwiw I think it's best for a man to see you at your worst at the beginning, tests what they're made of!

Deliaskis · 07/08/2011 16:35

thanks Deb Emski and wiggles for reassurance re finger food. I have anti-bac sprayed the high chair tray and am going to plough on! Might try a bit of banana first as I know she likes it, then maybe toast - she's not had bread before [eeek!] but I will never know until I try will I!

Have also made a load more veg but am pureeing that this time to see if she likes it.

We've had a nice weekend, not done much, but just kind of gone about our business (e.g. shopping, walks etc.) and Claudia has come along, which was more like what we did on holiday. At home in the week I am a bit rubbish and tend to plan my day round her and her sleeps so I get some rest too, which is good for not being exhausted, but pretty boring.

Need to think about getting C some more toys. She has her playmat but she is starting to get bored easily on that and of course once she crawls she will just escape from it. The jumperoo is great and is here to stay but need other things for her now, as I'm running out of ways to entertain her, although am going back to work in 2 weeks, so I suppose it won't be my job 7 days a week anymore...

MizK good luck for travels and enjoy. We're hopefully planning to visit my parents on Spain in October and as wiggles suggested was planning on buying formula and nappies and wipes out there, just taking enough for the journey. Ta tho wiggles for the tip about swim nappies.

Hope you're all having a nice day.

Dx

debka · 07/08/2011 19:19

O wow don't think I've ever been so tired today, so glad my mum's on the up so she's helped out, plus my sister came and looked after S for a while but SHOCK HORROR, DH took Imy out this morning so I could have a rest, came back with goodies for lunch and FLOWERS, I cried I was so touched :)

Night 2 of CC, really hope she cries a bit less tonight. She's been so tired today, only managing 90 mins awake time. Eating like a little horse though, 3/4 a weetabix for tea then masses of stewed apple mixed with yoghurt as well! Don't know where she puts it!

delia S's favourite toys are a whisk, egg turner and citrus reamer Grin

wiggles how the heck does Anna not sleep all day? S gets screamy and grim after 2 hours!!! (this could be because she doesn't sleep at night however Grin)

ledkr · 07/08/2011 19:33

Um Deb,is it baby weetabix cos im prety sure the adult one is too saltyonly learnt that on here btw
How lovely about dh,i nearly cried myself.Im bracing myself for the night myself, cant help wondering if ill get another 4am wakeup call.Dh is doing bedtime cos i cant move.

Delais, have you not discovered the joy of the giant organix watsits? Dilly had bread and grated cheese for lunch, loved it.bit messy tho this blw.I had to hoover the highchair Grin She seems to be making an mmmm noise when she is hungry and seems to need solids 3 times a day,i need to stock up.

What is this talk of passports? You have to have a passport dont you for everyone?
