X post delia you did absolutely right speaking to the dr, but it does sound like C is on the mend now. Hope she still sleeps for you tonight.

Not boring at all BTW :)

wigglesrock · 02/09/2011 20:40

Deliaskis glad you got C seen, dioralyte is great, I used to keep some in the house, O got very badly dehydrated once, but she wouldn't touch it, spent a very anxious night in hospital with her. It helps them right away. Try to relax and have a lovely snuggly weekend.

debka girls got on great today, Sofias' new teacher is a lot stricter than previous ones and she got told off for fidgeting today, she was most affronted Grin Well done Imy. You must have the golden touch re testers, get them to test a holiday in the sun Grin

Deb I too received some crispy things in the post today. Have polished off two packs already in the name of research.

Delia I'm actually going out again tomorrow too (yes ponyo to a wedding!) and again on Monday night. My life hasn't been this social for years! And glad C is on the mend.

wiggles I remember having a strict teacher when I was S's age. I was always til of for talking and messing.

deb Yay for Imy and the pink pants!

DP has gone out tonight, he has a "Young Dads Club" with some of his mates. It seems to involve much drinking. I'm watching crap tv and wondering why I didn't go out earlier to get Malteasers. I'm trapped now. Chocolateless.

chocoroo · 02/09/2011 21:09

Oh, and I should point out that DP is in no way a young dad!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/09/2011 21:19

delia glad that C seems to be on the mend, you did exactly the right thing.

choc Shock at your social life, you seem to have my share too Wink. did you shred? My legs were sore today but did it again and it seemed a tiny bit easier than yesterday.

Go reastie with your DVD AND walk! You'll put us to shame! How's your back?

So tired as B is waking pretty much every night now at 3am and takes ages to settle then up again at 5, really hope this is a phase... Well I suppose he'll sleep more when he's a teenager

chocoroo · 02/09/2011 21:25

needto No shred but I did go for a run. Not sure which makes me sweatier!

Good luck with sleeps tonight ladies, I'm really hoping for a lie in!

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 21:43

ponyo what gig are you off to?

wiggles Is it sad that I am missing DF already? I spoke to him earlier, he is so embarrassed and pissed off at his dad who is acting like a teenager on heat! Poor DF, he was pissed off to begin with as his dad had gatecrashed the weekend!

Hen night is tomorrow, thankfully unfortunately my pink ladies outfit hasn't arrived from ebay yet. I had to go out and buy a very nice top from River Island today instead! Grin

I heart B&M!

delia Poor claudia, hope she is better in the morning.

debka yay for Imy in her big girl pants!

wigglesrock · 02/09/2011 21:56

jane Oh God, his Dad is there, didn't realise that - ick, ick, icky. Don't worry there's always tomorrows post Grin I can't remember the last time I was in River Island.

No, not at all sad you're missing df, Mr W is thinking about heading off next year to see his brother in US, think everyone is going to club together and give him money for his flight for his 40th. We were nosying at flights and he mentioned going for a week Shock, I had envisaged 3/4 days. He's been doing lots of extra shifts for the past 2 weeks and I've really missed him, actually missed him not just his helping Grin

Meant to say thanks for all your comments re the girls, they are bloody gorgeous, usually I'm scundered when people say that but I like you all Grin

ILovePonyo · 02/09/2011 22:05

Evening all, quick post from me as I'm off to bed nice and early :)

I am jealous of all of the crisp testers! I want a reason to eat nice crisps for 'research' Wink

delia poor C, hope she's better soon. Interesting about the dehydration thing though, I did not know that. Not pfb at all either, just hope you're ok and not too worried.

jane well I'm actually going to dp's gig as his band are playing, its only in a small pub but I can still have a few pints so who cares! I really hope your pink ladies outfit turns up tomo morning, I know you'll be gutted if it doesn't Wink

wiggles Grin at S being affronted, love the way you describe your girls :)

Right I'm off to bed,, heres hoping for lots of sleepy babies (especially B NeedTo, no tips I'm afraid but hope the 3am waking stop soon) xx

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 22:11

ponyo you have a cool DP, what does he play?

wiggles I find it very weird that his dad went. What a fab birthday pressie for DH, a week will fly by.

wigglesrock · 02/09/2011 22:23

jane am already working on a list of things for him to bring back Blush

NeedToSleep See you at 3am - its Annas' favourite time of the day Shock

Grannyapple · 02/09/2011 22:43

Evening ladies...not amused as I have a feckin cold (I blame reastie & her cyber sneezing!). Think Nate is getting it too Sad ...he was v clingy today & cried every time I the room, not like him at all.

wiggles how cute & gorgeous are your wee girlies?! Absolutely beautiful.

ledkr hope ur enjoying lots of cuddles with D & Delia interesting re dehydration, I had no idea either on that one.

Jane poor dh...I'd be affronted too if i were him. Enjoy your night tomorrow & already looking forward to the stories Wink

I have a baby-ish free day tomorrow...off to hairdressers in the morning then straight to Bluewater for a shop & lunch catch up with a work colleague..bit gutted I now have this cold. But dh is looking forward to lots of time & cuddles with Nate..will be interesting to see state of place when I get home Hmm. but will be weird not being with N for that long ..they're now at the age where they're much funnier. Apart from the early wake ups of course...been 4.30, 5.30 & 5am the past few days...whatever happened to the 7-8am wake ups Confused

tadjennyp · 02/09/2011 23:49

Jeeeeeze,Dilly really likes to get up early,i hope this changes in time.5.40 and she sleeps on the bot but is awake as soon as it is finished.
I had to get up as dh had a long drive and had D up early himself,of course his mother wouldnt have offered like any normal gma.
D was pleased to see me and cried everytime i put her down.Dh said she had been alittle overwhelmed as he saw lots of family so i said it was agood job we could have a quiet weekend.

D How is she today, your dr sounds very good.
wigglesLet me know when the cats away and ill pop over and corrupt the mouse haha.
jane i keep meaning to say that one night i was out in Brum and saw a Hen party dressed up in pink satin jackets with "pink ladies" on the back. The thing was i havce never in my life seen such a miserable frumpy lot of women in my life, they were just sat down not speaking,me and my friend found it hysterical.
On my first marriage hen do i had a lovely designer dress but my friends had other ideas and made me a vile placard thing with condoms and stuff hanging off it,i ditched it after half an hour and they were a bit annoyed.
There is nothing worse than a leerin old guy on a stag do.Before i had D-and i had a nice figure grrrrr,i was out with a backless top and jeans and an old man drooled into my ear "you have made my night" i nearly threw up ugh.
I got my fake moby wrap yesterday,i learned how to tie it on you tube and Dilly loves it but i didnt keep her in it cos of her being in the car so long she wanted to destroy the lounge instead.
choco The young dads club?omg how funny, just an excuse to go out i think.Do they talk about nappies and sleep,i think not Grin

ledkr · 03/09/2011 08:06

tis meant to be another hot one here, its dgs birthday party then we off to the pool.

debka · 03/09/2011 10:01

ledkr that's early, S wakes up about 5.30 most mornings, has a thrash about and sometimes goes back off again, if I'm lucky. This morning she did until about 6.45 Grin

choc I would have to chloroform my DH to make him go to something like that!

ledkr your hen night story reminds me of something that happened to my mum, she was in our local when we lived in N Yorkshire, all full of farmersl, Jock was propping up the bar and leering away as usual. She was standing at the bar too, a little too close to Jock and he squeezed her boob Shock - the funny thing was that it was post-mastectomy and pre-reconstruction so all he got was a grope of her fake latex boob! My mum had had a few so she thought it was funny!

Experienced Mums please advise- how do you manage going out when you're potty training? I can't just stay in for days- and also, how long before they can hold on to their wee a bit so I can find a toilet if we're driving for example?

Boiling here too, think we'll be outside today.

ledkr · 03/09/2011 10:05

Ages deb.i used to get dd to "squeeze a drop out" we stil say that now before we go out Grin
They are all different, just watch her at home to get an idea.

Deliaskis · 03/09/2011 10:14

Morning ladies, thanks for all wishes for C. I am sure she is improving. There was no poo overnight (the first sign something was not right was nightpooing on Sunday night and every night since), and kept her bit of tea and whole bottle down last night, slept normally, and has had bottle and porridge this morning. I'm not pushing the solids, but she was doing sparrow mouth so I gave her some.

The instructions for infants on the Dioralyte are cr@p. I'm not thick, but they make no sense at all. So I'm mixing it with 200ml water (as per much clearer instructions for children) leaving it in the fridge in a bottle, but taking small amounts out into her cup during the course of the day. It says you can keep in fridge for up to 24hrs. Can't put it in milk as I assume it has a slightly salty taste and would be rank. If anyone know that my approach is the WRONG way to do it, please tell me!

But other than that, things seem fine. Honestly, if nursery hadn't have said she had been sick and had hardly anything to eat or drink, I would have thought she was on the mend from the runny bum thing. Fingers crossed by the end of the weekend she'll be seeing the back of it.

Ledkr it always sounds so continental when you say you're off to the pool on hot days. You honestly live in the Algarve really don't you?

apple enjoy your day, hope you don't miss N too much.

Ponyo and choc enjoy your night(s) out.

Have a nice weekend all...

Dx

chocoroo · 03/09/2011 11:23

delia glad C is really getting better. Eating porridge is a very good sign. She'll be eating like a trouper in no time.

deb I should say that "Young Dads Club" is just a name DP and his mates came up with when looking for excuses to go out regularly. It seems they got absolutely wasted, DP fell asleep on the sofa and is still moping about in last nights t-shirt hungover.

Thanks for the sleepy vibes tad and boo to wiggles and needto having early morning calls. R did lots of fidgeting last night so had to do the dummy run a few times. At about 5am I could tell she'd pooed but I decided to leave her as I know if I get her out of bed she'll think it's play time. Bad mummy!

Right, better go and get sorted for wedding later. DP is driving as he's in disgrace!

byronicheroine · 03/09/2011 12:04

Ledkr you lived in Crete? Did you like it? I think life on the islands is different to life here in Athens. Not many spiders (6th floor, thank god!) but plenty of mozzies and cockroaches. Gross.

delia sounds like you coped well, these things will happen!

ponyo did you enjoy your night out- are you a groupie then? Wink

choc not a bad mummy at all, anything to keep you sane, that's what I say!

News here is that K is mobile! Backwards crawling yesterday and forwards today. Today we will be mostly babyproofing the house- where do I start?
Also try and get a swim in later now it's not so hot, try out new swim nappies.
Good weekend everyone!

janedoe25 · 03/09/2011 12:52

ledkr Love the hen night stories!

debka Shock at Jock the boob feeler! When i was potty training mindees I carried a travel potty around with me, if they needed a wee I would just whip the potty out!

chocco enjoy the wedding.

Delia glad C is ok.

tad hi and I hope you are ok.

Disaster has struck - Pink ladies outfit has not arrived! Ah well I will have to go without.Grin

Sorry if i missed anyone out! Hope you all have a fab weekend x

ILovePonyo · 03/09/2011 14:58

Hello all - jane what a shame about the outfit :) Hope you have a fab night out.

byronic I will be groupie-ing tonight! More like long-suffering girlfriend tbh Wink

choco Grin at young dad club, bet he's suffering still! Enjoy the wedding.

Hello everyone else - more funny hen night stories please!

dd is another one who is waking earlier and earlier, 6.15 today Confused

gtg my babysitter is here Grin (my mum)

debka · 03/09/2011 16:45

Quickie before I forget byron when I was living in Turkey (wearing my full length mac of course borg Wink), we had cockroaches and one day I bit into my sandwich I'd just made and inside was a wiggling COCKROACH
