its bloody boiling here, really muggy,i nearly passed out on the bus.
I am in bed with Ella now and my room is like a furnace but i cant open the window due to the spider season Grin
settling down for a good Dilly free sleep now,she woke once last night and i have felt tired all day.The new speilberg film was amazing super 8,wasnt too bad for Ella, she is very sheltered when it comes to media so an alien was a bit scary for her.
Borg Shock at the racism from mil, that would be far worse for me than visits, just couldnt tolerate it.
Missed the bus home and so shared a cab with a lovely couple on holiday here speak tomorrow.
xx

byronicheroine · 01/09/2011 22:18

Thanks guys, I got the warm fuzzies! I was feeling better this morning, Lidl trip and everything ;) , but this evening DP and I had a massive arguement as I was apparently way out of line... All I did was to gently point out to his interfering helpful aunt that he's our baby and we know about weaning. This is after asking me what he had to eat all afternoon yesterday and then today she pissed me right off by asking DP what the baby ate. All in Greek remember, so I'm thinking did I say it right or what?!! Anyway, he's gone to bed and I'm sat up with a film and a bottle of bailey's which is the only thing I could find.
Grrrrr. Must remember to stock up!

Borg my boobies are too floppy now to hurt, they just get in the way. Sad times. We have a doidy cup which looks like it's been melted so it's all tilted. It's supposed to help them drink but tbh K just bangs it on the table and throws water everywhere so...

reastie we're still on cooled boiled water too, but mainly cos I don't trust the water here (which is fine really) and it's nice to have it cool from the fridge though, right?

needto had to laugh at B's inopportune poos! And how sweet of OH to shred with you! He sounds like a keeper

wiggles heating? Sorry! I can't wait for autumn to hit here, save me from endless Mall trips to bask in their aircon!

byronicheroine · 01/09/2011 22:20

Oh and ledkr enjoy your holiday but keep that window SHUT- spiders = eeeeeeeek!

WeAreBorg · 01/09/2011 23:10

byronic glad you're feeling better. We have the doidy cup and 2 other cups, doidy is the only vaguely successful one so far.....wiggles idea of getting someone else to sort it sounds good! Tried juice ponyo
ledkr thankfully the racist MIL debacle is ok buried under the carpet now, and at the point where me and DH just joke about it. She still usually speaks very loudly and slowly to my mum though , my poor mum's like WTF I speak perfect English?! Your PILs sound a complete pain beyond belief.

Nate is awake, he took over an hour to go to bed tonight and has now been awake for another hour after crying for ages until I turned the light on and was clearly fine. He's so annoying, I'm going to see if the circus across the way will have him.

tadjennyp · 01/09/2011 23:38

Hello, hope you are all well. Haven't been able to catch up properly but sorry about racist/irritating PILs and well done on first days at school. Got back from having our finger prints done for the green card and had to go on a massive diversion because of an enormous wildfire. Last night there was a frost but the daytime temps are still high 20s. V confusing.

Sammy is still as good as gold but I am feeling quite down at the moment. I think I need a few good nights' sleep without waking up for anyone! Anyone who is still bfing - are you expressing milk to put in their food or are you using ordinary milk or formula?

Hope all babies sleep well tonight.

debka · 02/09/2011 07:03

Morning all,

Little angel woke at 5.20am today, sigh. Left her till 6.30 then tried to feed her and put her back down, no joy. Anyone got any words of advice for early wakers?

tad I give S normal milk on her food. And she gets water from the tap to drink, she actually drank some yesterday! borg Imy never really bothered with a beaker, she just drank from an open cup which we held for her, then by the time she was 1-ish could do it herself. May be worth a go.

wiggles so CUTE!!

reastie my DH knows a family who would only let their PFB crawl on a rug in the front room, as soon as he reached one end they would turn him round and he'd go back the other way!

ledkr glad you and ella had a good evening :) really hope the PiLs stay away today....

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 07:32

Morning ladies, tad hope you are ok?

debka well done to Imy!

wiggles the girls are so cute.

ledkr Keep those spiders out! Hope the pils stay away, im glad you and Ella had a nice night together.

needto Grin at Ben's poo-athon.

borg Shock at mils racism!

sorry to those i have misssed, brain not working today!

ledkr · 02/09/2011 09:37

Ello all.Woke up of course at 7.30 grrrr,Ella made us tea tho and we are sat in bed drinking it.

byroneDo you get mahoooosive spiders in greece? When i lived in Crete there were these maybug type things that used to fly in your face, ugh i hated them. Glad you are feeling better but shame about the row,me and dh are very different he is completely unbothered by anything/one and i am.

It doesnt look as if pils will come,i spoke to dh last night and could hear Mil playing boo with D,thats the first time ive ever known her interact, mybe hoping for the next meal/cup of tea distracts her when here Grin

wiggs 2 down one to go! Cute pics. When Ella started school i thought id be sad but i skipped away from the school gate brushing my hands together.

Deliaskis · 02/09/2011 09:41

Morning ladies,

Few bits:

reastie C does that too pulling herself up, she does it with a big proud 'check me out' face, and looks around, and is often disappointed to see that it was only me who saw it, and she doesn't have Wembley stadium behind her full of people cheering.

Ledkr update needed on the impending arrival/non-arrival of PILs and evasive action taken or not taken

wiggles lovely pics!

Deb congrats on Imy's wee, I hope she knows there are more than a dozen women who have never met her who are all commenting on her wee. No advice on early waking though, we're teetering on the edge of acceptability (around 6am) at the mo but bearing with it as she's got a bit of a cold. It's tricky in the week as DH has to get up at 6.15/30ish. At the weekend she was fine because
she went back to sleep until after 7, but in the week there's too much disturbance for her to get back off again.

Dx

reastie · 02/09/2011 10:11

[super proud] this morning I did the hardest stage of my pn dvd AND a half hour brisk walk Grin . OK, so it's not a marathon but I certainly feel better for it and that's another £1 to sands Wink . Anyone else on the shredathon wake up aching this morning? My arms hurt from the press upy things on my dvd Confused [soon to be arms of steel]

deb you jest at the people only letting their dc crawl on a mat but I know I'll be exactly the same Hmm . I went out with a friend who was a 1yo and the lo was crawling all over the floor of the cafe and putting things in her mouth etc and I was Shock at how I'll cope when alice gets to that point [pfb]

byron glad lidl cheered you up somewhat Wink

ledkr Envy of your tea in bed. Wonder when my slave dd will be able to do that for me Grin

tad I give formula with food. I'm rubbish with expressing afraid Confused

wigglesrock · 02/09/2011 10:59

Morning, will be back later, A proving a monster to get to nap Grin, just wanted to say I was on a thread in Chat and we were talking about toys our children had gotten the most use of these were mentioned by a few posters www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-Hide-n-Squeak-Eggs/dp/B00068Q7LC.

I have just picked them up in our local B&M for £4.99 incase anyone is out and about.

Just popping my head in as busy day - gas man and off to "style" a friend who never wears dresses for a wedding we have have tomorrow. Need to shred but am 'tired' after a night out with girls...

ledkr · 02/09/2011 15:13

Am missing my baby now tho, wnat to give her a hug and a bath, wash the smell of the mil off her haha

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 15:20

ledkr your day sounds good, I'm so jelous you are able to lie in your garden. It's pouring here and it's so bloody cold! Grin at you washing the scent of your smelly mil off of Dilly! When is she due back?

ledkr · 02/09/2011 15:26

About 5 i think,Ella is off to stay at my sisters so one in one out.
Any ttc news jane? my af must be due,i am vile with horrid tummy ache

janedoe25 · 02/09/2011 15:30

Good stuff, D's face will be so cute when she see's you! Nothing on the ttc front this month, Df is away until Monday and this weekend is golden time. I hate cramps, hope you feel better soon.

Deliaskis · 02/09/2011 15:47

Oh dear am having my first return to work worry. Nursery just rang to say she has been 'a little bit sick a couple of times' but that I don't have to go and get her, they're just letting me know.

Problem is message was from office lady not lady actually with C, so WTF does 'a little bit sick' mean, and a couple of times - they could mean she dribbled after her milk, or they could mean she has thrown up everything she has had all day?

Yikes, I want to rescue her, but that would be PFB wouldn't it? I'm over half an hour anyway, so it's not like I can get there quickly.

A bit upset really [pfb loon icon].

D

ledkr · 02/09/2011 16:46

Ah D,its neqrly time to get her surely.I remember nursery and school doing this to me,i think they think they are doing the right thing letting you know but trust me if she was throwing up badly they would get you to pick her staright up due to cross contamination so stop worrying she is fine, let us know when you are homexx

reastie · 02/09/2011 16:51

d thnx for msg. I'm sure the Claudinator is fine. I've heard it's common for bbabies to be sick when they have colds - something to do with swallowing all the mucas. If it helps, the othe day with her cold alice was what I would class as 'a little bit sick' twice when she was coldy. She was perfectly happy before and after so I was confident it wasn't a prob for her IYKWIM. Hope you're now nearly home with her now and cuddles all round. I would have thought nursery have to be really fussy about this sort of thing so if they arn't worried hopefully it's nothing to worry about, but I would be just as worried as you, not sure if that's a pfb thing or not being a pfber and all Wink

ledkr I'm awaiting update when dilly gets back as to if PIL have followed dh home, please keep us posted

wiggles meant to say I saw that thread with the eggs on and thought I should get them - is it too young to get them now or shall I wait for a christmas pressie?

Deliaskis · 02/09/2011 16:58

Thanks Ledkr and reastie you're right. If I was with C and she was what I would class as 'a little bit sick', which is probably the same if not more than what you would say reastie, as I am used to a bit of sick with reflux, then I wouldn't be that worried. It's at times like this I really struggle to not be completely PFB 'so how much sick - what colour/consistency - disposition before/after...etc.'. You're right Ledkr they would be asking me to collect if she seemed actually ill wouldn't they.

Leaving work now will have her in half an hour then she can be a little bit sick on me too Smile.

Thanks you two, you have reassured me.

Dx

ILovePonyo · 02/09/2011 17:10

Hello all,

delia poor you, I would be wanting to go and fetch her too but agree with what others have said. Hope you're home soon having some cuddles :)

reastie cheque recevied today thank you muchly, loved the postcard too, I love a bit of Partridge Grin Not cashed it yet will prob be next week. Hope thats ok.

ledkr hope you've got your Dils back now - bet its lovely having her back. And NO pil!

wiggles we have a B&M over the road - woo will be heading there tomo!

choco are you going to the wedding tomo too? Enjoy! (I had to have a friend take me shopping for a dress for a friends wedding 'do' as I don't wear dresses either :))

tadj sorry to hear you're feeling abit down, its amazing what a good nights sleep can do (or how rubbish lack of sleep can make you feel). Can dp/dh let you catch up on some sleep at the weekend maybe? Hope you're feeling better soon xx

Had a nice day visiting my friend and her little boy today, dp has just taken dd out quickly so am making the most of the quiet by mn-ing

Forgot to mention I am having a night out tomo, my mum is coming to babysit as I am going to a gig with dp :) Though I'll still be home earlyish as I'll be up nice and early with little madam the next day, ah well.

reastie · 02/09/2011 18:16

btw - what shop is B&M? Am I being thick? Blush

wigglesrock · 02/09/2011 19:49

reastie B&M is a discount store, its also the best place to buy sticker books in the whole world Grin second only to Poundland! They also had Detinox teething gel cheaper than usual. I've sent the eggs to Santa Grin for delivery.

deliaskis hope you and C are ok. Agree with Ledkr, if she had been really vomiting, they would have had you back like a shot. They probably just had to change her and wanted to let you know why early so there wasn't a panic at pick up time.

jane hope you are having a lovely man free time, is the hen night tomorrow night?

tad sorry you're feeling blue, tiredness is a bugger, are any of A&E heading back/starting pre-school soon? (big hug, manly slap on shoulder, Brew, Wine, you can have all 4)

chocoroo and ponyo - hark at you and your social lives Envy

ledkr hope you have Dill & dh back and have shooed the mil vibes away.

OP posts:
Deliaskis · 02/09/2011 20:20

well quick update...Came home and was in a bit of a panic because she had realy hardly eaten anything all day at nursery and had been sick after both bottles, so in effect had only had 4oz of milk all day. Was a bit Shock as all week she has still been having her milk etc.

Rang GP surgery just in case there was someone to speak to at that time (6.30pm) and there was! And spoke to GP who said to bring her in. He weighed her and asked a load of questions. Anyway, he wants us to give her dioralyte (rehydration solution) and get her weighed again at the hosp over the weekend. He did say, which is useful to know, that babies can get quite seriously dehydrated and still be quite chirpy, so it is something to really watch for. I had thought she was really fine cos she was still OK temperament wise but it's useful to know thatit is still important to keep an eye on her.

Anyway, before we went to docs, she had some porridge and a drink of water, and she has had all her bedtime bottle and none of it came back so fingers crossed she will be comfortable tonight.

Back home now, she's asleep, we've got Chinese meal in a bag from Tescos in the oven.

So for long and probably dull post about an only very slightly poorly baby.

Have a nice weekend all...

Dx

debka · 02/09/2011 20:20

reastie I googled B&M stores and the reason we've never heard of them is that the nearest is in Slough Grin

Lucky choc and ponyo going out

delia hope C is fine now she's home with her mummy :)
