Sorry wiggles whats up with Olivia,i missed that.Let us know asap.
borg hes so cute,i love the one of him standing up as if hes about 2!

tadjennyp · 30/08/2011 05:24

Hello, hope everyone is ok and all the babies have given you a good night's sleep and eat their breakfasts nicely Grin .
Ledkr, your PILs are nuts. Why should your dh spend an entire block of time off with them? You need your space to get Ella ready for school.
Reastie, I think the longer they have been feeding and the older they get, the less likely they are to react to new stuff. Having said that, I haven't given Sammy any meat yet, but mixed vegetables and fruit purees are going fine, along with toast and cucumber slices. Not very adventurous here.
Wiggles, I hope Olivia is ok.
Well Edward lived up to his reputation for being an accident waiting to happen and tipped a cup of tea all over himself this evening. We shoved him straight in the shower and somehow he doesn't have a mark on him. I was in tears as he's never gone to pick up tea before. Sad
Must go up and see dd as she is still not in bed and has had a fever today. She's nervous about starting school, but I can't wait! Wink

tadjennyp · 30/08/2011 05:25

Sorry, forgot to say, lovely photos borg!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/08/2011 07:36

Hello there tad, ouch for Edward but he sounds fine. B almost ended up rolling/lunging off the bed yesterday so that's another thing we can't do with him. Sometimes there's no clue as to what they're going to do! Hope your dd is okay now and has a good first day (and you Grin).

ledkr wow, seriously, wow, if i were you i'd remind oh of his guilt over the first few days when they infiltrated your house and let him deal with them (properly this time).

wiggles How's O? Hope it isn't anything too bad x

wigglesrock · 30/08/2011 07:57

Morning, sorry didn't mean to panic anyone, Olivia had what Mr W would politely call a bit of "ring sting", her bottom was very sore, but it didn't look that bad. Her poo was a bit loose and she couldn't sleep and then decided to scream the house down literally. She was sobbing and in quite a lot of pain, no sore tummy or anything. I have a variety of creams etc from As nappy rash, so I got her organised and we both went to bed at 10pm.

Better this morning but I don't think she's been herself for about a week so I'll see how she is at the end of the week.

ledkr no, no you are right about pils - my house is an absolute tip, and I need to get the girls to school with a bit of peace and organisation not bloody visitors!

WeAreBorg lovely photos - you are not a spy after all Grin

Off to help my sister clean her flat before she hands the keys in, ffs what was I saying about overstepping relatives ledkr Blush

tadjennyp been there Grin, please don't blame yourself, I did and it didn't help anyone and I felt dreadful.

OP posts:
ledkr · 30/08/2011 08:24

Ah poor Olivia-i have every sympathy with her as prozac and ibs give me the same,i used some ancient pile cream it was so sore.

Thanks all for the pil affirmation,do you all swear you are not just agreeing with me cos i was awake half the night fuming/worrying about it. The thing i dont get is that dh said "we are going out sat" twice, but then said "ill see what Lou says" so i presume they just said "oh well we can still come" or similar. I feel sorry for dh cos he is in such a hard place but i am worried they will stil bulldoze a visit (maybe follow him back Friday for example) and then stay till sat when we will then have to pretend to be going out, what a fucking palava.
I have already decided that if this happens a,i will seriously consider our future and b,will leave and book into a nice hotel telling them "i did want the weekend free actually"
The trouble is he is too vague,he said he was off-first mistake, then we were gong out sat-should have said we had visitors,i want to suggest this to him but dont want it to look as if i am going on about it.
God i bloody hate them.

Anyway Dilly slept 8-7 so pity i didnt,i can defo see that she is waking with hunger as she ate plebty yesterday.

Tad when does dd start school? Ella is quite looking forward to it,i am too but am loathe to go back to rushed mornings after all my lazy ones.Dilly has had a couple of bumps and i pulled a lovely carpet fibre out of her nose yesterday, she had obviously swallowed it Hmm

Deliaskis · 30/08/2011 10:16

Oh poor you Ledkr re PIL and DH not putting his foot down. I know he is in a tough situ, but actually think he is being a bit wimpy-ass about it as well. I don't even really know why he has to say we're going out, or 'we have friends round' or anything, it should really be as simple as 'next weekend is no good for us, we have a lot on and E is back to school Monday, so we can't have you over then, let's find a weekend later in September that suits us all', and that should be the end of it. Freaky PILs. I've had to train DH to be a bit more assertive with his DM, but he's getting there now after she did those few weirdy things a couple of months ago.

Saw your post on weaning and was sympathising, then came on here and read that Dilly has developed a taste for gourmet food, so hopefully, she will strat to get back into the groove - you might have to hire a sleb style gourmet baby food chef to cater to her refined taste.

reastie I am a bit like you with weaning new foods in that I will try and narrow down the number of new foods in a day. I might not be quite as rigid as you described, as in, I might sometimes try two new things (e.g. cauli cheese), and if there was a problem, try cauli on its own next time, then add the cheese etc. As she's at nursery now tho, it's a bit more of an anything goes approach. The trying one new thing at a time also gets a bit easier when their repertoire is generally wider, you can just add in an extra thing as it crops up.

We've had a lovely weekend actually. DSis and BIL and DNiece (3) were up staying at my parents, so we had two lovely days out, and C was an absolutel angel. It was another good time for us just taking C with us to whatever we were doing rather than planning the time around her IYSWIM. Saturday we went to a country show type of thing (largest marrow, dog with the longest tail, horse-jumping, tractor dancing, etc.), and Sunday we went to a local garden centre that has a miniature railway than DN loves, and we had lunch there etc. Not super exciting but two great days. Sunday also a landmark as C sat up at the table for Sunday dinner at about 5pm, and had her mush, and we had our dinner, and she just sat and ate, and was basically fab. ALso had a cute DN and C in the bath together both nights.

Off to catch up on other posts.

Dx

Deliaskis · 30/08/2011 15:52

OMG what did I say? Come back everyone.

reastie · 30/08/2011 16:00

lol Grin hello d glad you had such a good week end - bet that's just what you needed after your week back at work

borg love the piccies Grin

needto Shock to ben rolling off the bed (nearly) already. We pad alice with big pillows around her but I think if she really wanted to she could still roll so will prob stop that soon

jane you've been v quiet - hope you're OK x

wigglesrock · 30/08/2011 16:30

deliaskis Ha, ha you're the thread killer Grin That always happens to me on other threads, I meant I know I bore the pants off you all, but thats only because I save my best work for those lovely posters on AIBU Grin

Mumsnet has been on and off for a big part of the afternoon, I've lost losts of fascinating posts!!

OP posts:
ledkr · 30/08/2011 16:52

Ah wiggles i bet we have missed out there.
D that does sound like an ideal weekend, just the kind of thing i like-but with some wine thrown in- Grin We have a friend who always paints pretty pictures of days out,now we all take the micky and ask her if she's going butterfly catching in white dresses before drinking home made lemonade and sarnies from a wicker basket.ala Enid Blyton.Spent 32 squids on Ellas school shoes then took them to pizza hut and dilly threw ate pizza, beetroot, cucumber and pasta.I have a feeling i will be spending lots of time clearing up floors.
Dilly is now using her standing activity centre to scoot along in Hmm

ILovePonyo · 30/08/2011 19:57

borg lovely photos, what a little cutie!

wiggles hope poor O is feeling better today.

ledkr any more news re: pil? Know what you mean about dh being vague, dp is the same - get to the point!

delia Grin at what did I say?! Your weekend sounds/sounded lovely, well done doing what you wanted with C fitting into it, I need to remind myself that it can be done :)

Hello everyone else - nothing to report here, boring day with lots of cleaning Hmm
I have decided to go back to work 20 hours so 2 and a half days - what do you all think? Don't know if I should just bump it up to 3 days anyway but then my instinct is telling me 2 and a half. Eek! Confused

wigglesrock · 30/08/2011 20:11

Ponyo poor O my arse (no pun intended) she's been fine all day and now having a moan Hmm I cleaned my sisters flat this morning. I'm panicking now about going back to work - I'm knackered Grin Of course the fact that I'm actually being paid for poledancing cleaning then might help!

If I were you I'd go for 2.5 days but keep A in creche for the 3 days - have half a day for yourself. I had S in for one full day a week at creche (family looked after her the rest of the time) and had a few hours to myself one afternoon a week, it was bliss!

ledkr A is now a menace with her walker, spends most of the day whizzing into the kitchen and trying to pull our bin down - damn open plan living Grin

Grannyapple · 30/08/2011 20:26

Hi ladies...feel like I've not been on for ages this thread moves so dastardly Grin

Borg fab fab photos...what a wee cutie!

ledkr stand your ground & as someone said, remind dh of his guilt over PILs re: that first night home....WTF does it take for them to takea bloody hint?! I fear no other way but telling them how it is...poor dh, but he is now more than aware of their incessant behaviour!

Re:weaning...having a bit of a hard time with Nate on this front...feel like he is regressing. Won't let me put a spoon near him, blowing raspberries constantly. Tho I think he has cut his top right front tooth (3rd tooth...WTF?)...could this be why? He's gone from 2 meals to barely taking one...I was trying to up him to 3 meals/day this week but feel so disheartened about it all...He fially took some brocolli & cauliflower from me today...but I had to feed him from my fingers!

Delia your weekend sounds fab!

reastie I was trying to introduce a separate food each time but think that will take forever...so am now just giving him new foods all the way...a friend was told by her hv that as soon as the babies are 6 months, don't hold back & just go for it! So he's ad some cottage pie puree that dh made at the w/e, & I'm making chicken casserole, some lentils & a fish dish tomorrow for pureeing. Why are hv's so bloody inconsistent?!

Trying to help my friend who's preggo with her 2nd (dd1 is nearly 7 months!)...she is due to return to work early October...when would you tell work about the new pregnancy? Ithinkshe should wait til she's back but I think she wants to tell them sooner...i'mworried they might not approve her flexible working request (even tho it should have no impact).

Grannyapple · 30/08/2011 20:28

So dastardly?! Meant to say quickly!!!

wigglesrock · 30/08/2011 20:42

Grannyapple this has happened to my friend twice (she's up for employee of the year Grin). She actually waited until she was back in the office to tell them in person.

I am loving the dastardly thread Grin Anna has started to blow raspberries when she is fed up with her dinner or doesn't particularly like it Blush

Sometimes she can't be bothered with the spoon, actually she prefers to chew on it, no teeth yet!! I put something on breadsticks, rusk and she sucks the food of it Grin We're very classy in the Wiggle house!!

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 30/08/2011 20:58

wiggles glad O is ok Grin Good idea re: keeping dd in nursery for the whole of the 3rd day, the only prob is that my wages are pretty much only going to cover nursery, so can't really afford to put her in for a whole day but only work half day :( Boo, I would love to be able to do that tbh!

Hello grannyapple 3rd tooth Shock The only thing I can suggest re: weaning is to continue as you are, dd stopped eating from a spoon completely for a while (felt like forever) but we kept trying and a few days ago she 'got' it again. I think your friend should wait to tell work too, she doesn't have to tell them does she?

dd has just cried loudly and then settled herself back to sleep - she's done this a few nights now :)

ledkr · 30/08/2011 21:50

granny dilly has regressed too,i have gone more for the blw and today she has had some off the spoon for first time in 2 weeks. I have chilled right out now,i am just giving her what we eat and she is happy,i seem to remember Derri and Ella were like this too.Liked proper food,Derri is now a chef and Ella takes olives and hummus as a packed lunch.
D had cauli cheese for tea,i just plonked it on her tray and she shoved fists of it into her gob Grin

ponyo I do 2.5 days.I do 2 every week and then one full day a month iyswim.I find that enough tbh, gives me time to do other things,i was full time when on my own it was very hard as i spent my days off cleaning and shopping.

Re pils,dh says its no prob and they wont be coming, watch this space tho.

Remembered today that me and my mates boyfriend snuck into the Jamie Oliver resturant drunkenly calling for Jamie on Saturday night,We nicked badges off the front desk and ran off hysterical Grin

Well off to get ready for me fav programme-SHAMELESS yeah!Im so excited and ab fab have made 3 new episodes too.Cant wait.

Four4me · 30/08/2011 22:23

ledkr Grin at shouting for Jamie!!

All good here last week of the holidays. We are taking T, J and A to Legoland on Thursday/Friday. Imogen is staying at pil for one night. Thomas is soooooo excited and it so am I it is contagious! He keeps hugging me and saying 'thank you Mummy, thank you!' we haven't even packed a bag yet. He'll prob pass out when we get there.

ponyo I went back to work two and a half days after T and J it worked out fine. Archie has to fit into our different days activities Esp over these holidays. Each day sort of happens to finish with his last feed between 7 and 8pm.

He is such a typical boy just sitting back in his highchair and letting me spoon anything in! He has so fair eaten everything, sometimes I wonder when he'd stop. He has dropped a bf which is a bit sad as he is my precious last born!

WeAreBorg · 30/08/2011 23:03

44me oh I'm jealous, legoland! Archie sounds lovely and laid back, perhaps he'll be a surfer dude?

ledkr snorted at the Jamie story, that sounds like the sort of thing my and my mates used to do before we were boring

ponyo nursery is sooo expensive isn't it. We still don't know what to do, I have to work weekends and evenings so nursery is no good, I'll probably have to take him with me Confused

granny what's with all the teeth! N doesn't eat much if that's any consolation, I have to try and trust him to eat what he needs if that makes sense. I have been sneaking him vitamin drops though! Grin at dastardly, I am imagining you doing a Mutley laugh as you type.

wiggles glad Olivia's bot is better.

Grin at delia* scaring everyone off.

Well DH is back from work so will go join him for a late cuppa, sleep well my british chums

ledkr · 30/08/2011 23:19

Ah 4for Are you doing the stopover thing? I usually do that with Ella every year,we stay in the Hilton reading, its dead posh and includes a fab breakfast and has a pool.I went last year and it was there that i first thought i may be pregnant. Didnt go this year tho am saving it for later in the year,we eat dinner in the posh resturant and then snuggle up in the massive bed and watch tv Smile have a nice time.
borg its sad really,i should be grown up by now.

debka · 31/08/2011 06:47

borg are you not in the uk then?

44me legoland sounds amazing. can't wait till my 2 are old enough to enjoy it.

ledkr glad DH put his foot down...

I'm a bit Angry with DH and myself too actually, you know we've got this toy to test? Well, have to send video by today and we only started filming yesterday- now DH insists on doing the filming so i've been waiting on him but i should have just put my foot down or done it myself cos now we've had this toy for a couple of weeks Imy is just not interested any more and we got about 5 mins of rubbish video. Plus DH moaned and griped and made me really Angry, he's just so bloody negative about everything.

Can you tell me when your LOs ate sleeping please? Naps i mean. S is betwixt and between ATM.

40Weeks · 31/08/2011 07:33

Hello everyone

Haven't been on for ages, everytime I go to catch up something or someone interrupts - I am actually hiding in the bathroom as we speak!

Haven't had to to read all the posts, sorry, but debka Mikey sleeps approx 3 times a day, 2 short naps (30min-1hr) and 1 longer nap (1.5 - 2hrs) if we are at home, if we are out it is pretty random. If he is too tired at bedtime though he doesn't feed well and then his night is disturbed. He actually slept through for the first time ever night before last, but woke at 4.30 this morn because he hadn't fed enough at bedtime. I did a bit of controlled crying in the daytime but he didn't cry for long so feel I got off lightly this time round! It has helped his night times massively!

He is now on 3 meals a day but I am taking it easy and only try one new food every 2 to 3 days, and he hasn't had dairy yet.

Owen has been poorly the last few days with a temp and a virus - poor love, it's always him. How is Olivia now wiggles ?

We are all ready for school next week! (I think) new shoes bought, uniform tried on and name age ironed into EVERYTHING I could find.....

Right my peace has been interrupted by a whingy Owen demanding breakfast

Oh and I have put on weight. Super. Am keeping carbs to an all time low and off to spin today to help pedal some of it away. Misery.
