Hello all, have been trying to post all day but kept getting called away by a noisy baby!

Dp and I did a big shop and did manage to make 3 lots of baby purees from the lovely Annabels book, I feel like I've done 50 loads of washing up too Shock I can understand why people would rather just buy bottles and jars of baby food, all that effort of making purees, if she'd turned her nose up at it I think I would have cried Grin BUT...a m pleased to report dd ate some cod and spinach puree, she is opening her mouth and swallowing much better, all in what 4 or 5 days?

Needto good luck for tonight! Hope you get a good sleep yourself too.

ledkr I havn't fed dd 'proper' food whilst out and about, even purees make a massive mess, the most I've done is give her some of the fab Organix carroty wotsits. dd is another sloucher, it often means she only uses one arm iyswim, the other one is sort of trapped by her slouching Hmm

Borg have no idea re: screaming Confused is he still asleep when he does it?

Oh - Beyonce is pregnant! Don't know why I'm so excited about this but I am, saddo Grin

reastie · 29/08/2011 20:27

beyonce pg? I bet she's one of those ladies who are skinny but for a baby bump Envy . Did you hear amanda holden is pg again? Fab news as I remember she lost her baby when we were pg

ponyo purees are a faff. I did lots of soup making on sunday afternoon (for dh and I not alice Blush but the method of making is similar IYKWIM). I made lettuce soup, spinach soup, watercress soup and butternut squash and sweet potato soup. I felt like I'd run a marathon after finishing and clearing up all that Blush Wink I've fed when out - in the Jon Lewis cafe (you'd think I live in the place the amount I go there Shock ). It was fine but very messy, tbh I'm not sure how other diners would cope with blw (the tables are quite close). I had alice on my lap as there were no other highchairs. I have a pack of baby wipes on hand to wipe all the time

jane how you doin? (that sounded like a joey tribiani chat up line Hmm - you know what I mean :)

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 20:35

Bugger I just lost a message I typed. The gist of it was that purees are a big faff, and Johm Lewis cafe is prob where I am going to do my first 'proper' feed as there was lots of other messy babies when I was the other day!

and I was pondering if Beyonce and other rich and famous types pay for nannies to do night feeds so they don't lose any sleep. Then I feel jealous (but a bit sad for them too).

Hi to jane if you're reading :)

wigglesrock · 29/08/2011 20:36

I've just seen Beyonce on the news - she looks so lovely and she's still feckin' dancing and singing - I could barely get up the stairs Shock

reastie · 29/08/2011 20:39

bet they do have night nannies ponyo - if not all the time then at least a fair amount. I'm bored so might go off and google Grin

WeAreBorg · 29/08/2011 20:42

reastie thanks, I don't want to give Nate dodgy food, me and DH eat any old thing way past it's sell by date

needto hope gorgeous Ben is asleep!

ponyo ooh I've bought the ingredients for the cod and spinach one, glad it went down well. Tried the salmon ones 3 times but he spluttered and went beserk each time. He loves the curry one though! Have made a load of the lentil one tonight. His favourite foods remain toast and cheesecake though.

I've put some photos of old boggly eyes on, just in case you all thought I was on here under false pretences.

EEk he's doing his random screaming thing again, wtf?

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 20:46

Oh no borg, poor you (and Nate of course Wink) How long does the screaming last for?!

We made the lentil one too! dp is very keen on making the curry one seeing as he is such a curry fan himself. dd's fave food is prob anything sweet ie ice cream.

Off to nosy at your photos...

Oh wigs I like Jennifer G too, is this baby no 3 for her? Just like you!

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 20:47

Borg I can't see your photos :( Is it b'cos you couldn't see mine Wink

reastie · 29/08/2011 20:49

borg can't see piccies - have you made your profile public

Re: weaning - so they say you have to intro one food at a time no more than one a day - is it possible to actually practically do this? I was looking through the annabel recipes and loads of them have so many ingredients in it would take ages to introduce one by one. just wondering what other people do Hmm

wiggles is it bad I have no idea who Jennifer Gardner is? Blush

debka · 29/08/2011 20:51

I got all excited when I saw the Beyonce Reveal on telly this morning, so lovely the way she did it, I had a tear in my eye [saddo]

borg I can't look at your profile!

You alright jane love?

I did BLW with Imy here there and everywhere but I did spend quite a lot of time crawling on the floor picking bits up!

reastie · 29/08/2011 20:52

oh yeah, and I should add to my weaning question I count for example bolognese a number of foods as you've got the meat/onions/tomato/stock etc etc, so I would intro meat one day. tomatoes the next (with other already trialled stuff) etc etc until I'd done them all and only then make the bolognese - is this right or do you just count bolognese as a dish the new food of the day? Confused

NeedToSleepZZZ · 29/08/2011 20:54

ha ha ponyo, we've had exactly the same day Grin except B turned his nose up at my pea and cauliflower mush Angry, I actually rather liked it though so ate it myself, hmmph.

reastie I heard about Amanda Holden and I was a bit shocked that she tweeted it, I know everyone is different but I think that I would've kept the news to myself until it became obvious. She's been through so much that I have everything crossed for her and hope the press leave her alone (fat chance).

Didn't know about Beyonce though, I really like her but not her music so much. I was thinking about VB and how many nannies she must have and got very Envy but only because it was the middle of the night and I was holding a screaming baby, I feel sorry for the pressure slebs have to get back to work and look exactly the same as pre pg 2 weeks after giving birth.

Meant to mention it earlier but does anyone elses lo have a habit of shaking their head from side to side, erm, quite frantically? I'm not particularly worried as he seems happy enough doing it but just wondered if he was a weirdo unique in this???

debka · 29/08/2011 20:55

borg you get that?? Grin

reastie I just give S what we're having, can't be doing with the give her one thing and wait for the reaction business. We've no allergies in our family though.

BTW I had to google JG too Blush

reastie · 29/08/2011 20:59

ahh yes, I've been searching celebrities and if they all have night nannies Blush and american 'people' magazine so it must be true gives Jessica Albas top new baby tip as get a night nanny Hmm - yeah, that's a really useful tip for all us plebs Confused

NeedToSleepZZZ · 29/08/2011 21:00

damn, took me so long to post as was painting my nails at the same time Blush

borg please let us see the pics Grin

deka I was on all fours yesterday hunting down bits of cucumber in the kitchen after B threw them around after one bite of each... it's a great look isn't it Wink

reastie not sure about the bolognese tbh, I have given B a mix of lentils and pumpkin at the same time and it was okay but not sure if that's the 'right' thing to do. So Confused about weaning....

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 21:10

Hm reastie that never occured to me about the one new thing at a time, well I gave dd loads of new gubbins today and she seems fine. My guess is as long as there's no allergies known I'd crack on?!

I knew it about the night nannies, yeah thanks for that helpful tip Jessica Alba Hmm Its all part and parcel isn't it? (thats not saying I wouldn't get a night nanny if I was minted Wink)

Needto the purees taste nice don't they! Can't help about the head shaking, dd did it when really tiny when she was hungry, its not that is it ?

Where is Borg

wigglesrock · 29/08/2011 21:28

Borg your profile isn't public

ILovePonyo yup me and Jennifer Garner - separated at birth Grin

Sorry have to run, Olivia isn't very well Sad

ledkr · 29/08/2011 22:06

hi all,ta for the kind words,i have dutifully taken my prozac so have the usual upset tummy.
I took Dillys strap on chair thing for her to sit in,she had lots of food, carrots, swede delphinoirs and pork casserole haha, she seems to prefer goumet food as was stuffing it in.She then had apple crumble.
I have also discovered she will eat from her nurofen syringe so gave her some rice in that to hopefully stuff her up for tonight guffaw guffaw.
I was on my hands and knees for quite some time at my sisters cleaning up,i put 2 towells down but unfortunately they didnt catch it all.I will become the guest from hell.
Speaking of which, fil has made his usual 9.40 long call just as we were settling down,They are after coming down at the weekend but dh told them he is going there to visit with D Thursday but it sounds as if they are still pushing to come for the weekend.
Please be honest but aibu not to want them the weekend before Ella goes back to school? House is a shite hole from the hols and i need to be getting uniform and stuff ready and just enjoying the last few days.
Am going to say no for defo.
Heres to a quiet night for us all.
Beyonce pg? I had to laugh at Amanda holden praising the maternity services in response to all the critisism,im sure the nhs is a tad different to the Portland Grin nice that she is pg tho.

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 22:17

ledkr love Dilly with her posho taste in food Grin YANBU re: pil, say no definitely and don't feel bad about it.
I have got mtv awards on and beyonce just sang and then rubbed her little baby bump at the end, I welled up Blush I don't even like Beyonce that much whats wrong with me!?

ledkr · 29/08/2011 22:25

oh no your not pg yourself are you?? I have the opposite reaction,i just think ugh-whats so special about you? haha
Thanks re pils,i heard dh say we were going out Sat,twice but the convo still ends ok ill talk to Lou! What do they want to do come and sit in my house while im out or be there when me and dh try to have drunken sex-we arent even going out but if we were wtf?He is visiting them the day before so they just want to come down and eat my food and chill out.I dont want to have to worry about extra shopping and clean bed linen and towels as well as school shoes, uniform and lunch boxes.God they wind me up.

ILovePonyo · 29/08/2011 22:33

Haha no deffo not pg, trust me!
Your pil do sound a bit odd (i know they are but...) why do they want to come visit if dh is going the day before?! And can they not take the hint? Feel for you so stand your ground and hope thy stay put Grin

ledkr · 29/08/2011 22:39

I bloody well will you know. The fact they want to come despite him visiting with Dilly proves to me that their reasons for visiting are not about seeing them its more about what they see as a little holiday at our expense. This would also mean out of dh's 4 days off 2 will be visiting them and the other 2 with them here, hardlt healthy.

ledkr · 29/08/2011 22:43

pssst-does anyone get pissed off when you go up to bed early for tv or a bit of mn and Dh practically breaks his legs to get up there too?Really annoys me-but then i am easily annoyed atm Grin
needto thanks for the mention on the thread-i am mortified.

WeAreBorg · 29/08/2011 22:46

Blush whoops I think my profile is public now, sorry for going AWOL, trying to catch up on the killing whilst DH is at work.

ledkr your PILs seem to have no normal boundaries, I would get them to sort out the lunchboxes and do some ironing. Surely the point of GPs visiting is to do jobs or babysit, or is that just me?

wiggles hope Olivia okay, what's wrong?

reastie I didn't realise about the new food each day, I have given him loads of different things each time. That's probably why he's so grumpy at the moment come to think of it.

need to I end up eating most of Nate's meals, I'm def getting my 5 a day at the moment!
