Emski76 · 20/08/2011 18:07

Quick hello whilst Ben 'break dances' to Take that and Noah plays with a pack of wipes (weird children).
Hope your all ok.
Glad you enjoyed your hols Chocco, well done to R for crawling, albeit backwards!
It's never too early for Xmas. I love it so much. Have started putting things aside for Xmas and get a warm feeling inside when I think of the boys together celebrating.
Went swimming this morning as a family for the first time. Noah loved seeing Ben and dh in the pool, got very excited.
X factor tonight, am very excited, have wine and goodies at the ready!

wigglesrock · 20/08/2011 18:58

emski Anna loves playing with a pack of wipes, but she always ends up poking herself in the eye. Sssh about the X Factor, Sofia thinks it starts next week and I'm looking forward to relaxing on my own this evening. Mr W is out for dinner with his brother and parents and we couldn't get a babysitter for me to go .... oh well Grin

Anna spent most of the day trying to pull herself up me from my lap to my shoulder and is deffo more confident on her tummy and elbows.

I was in Bargain Books or whatever its called now during the week and they had loads of things the girls would love for 99p - giant Disney/Peppa Pig pencils etc but they were with me. So I ran into today and got loads - if I don't use them for Christmas, they will do my emergency present supply - stop sniggering in the back Grin

Ponyo the Danish Killing is supposed to be fabarooni, am watching the remake, but am really going to make an effort to watch the original, the joy of the BBCi player, I can watch it at 3am when I'm up with A, see I knew there were advantages Grin

OP posts:
reastie · 20/08/2011 19:09

I think I'd prefer the Danish version of the killing but dh doesn't 'do' anything involving reading subtitles Angry

wiggles I think it's totally normal to buy christmas gifts in august - Blush I will sneakily admit to writing my christmas present list this week and already trying to workout what to get everyone Shock I'm currently making Alice a stuffed heart cath kidston garland that will have her name on it not that she'll know what it is

Another fan of babywipes here. Alices favourite things to do is scrunch up paper and pull herself to standing holding my hands and of course rolling over and getting stuck Wink

choc glad you have a good hol

ems go ben - break dancing - was there any head spinning?!

ponyo alice has days of hating her buggy - it's really annoying and usually when i want to go shopping

delia if you see this good luck for next week

hubbard how was it?

40 I love how you call your tart rustic - that's just how I refer to students' work when it looks like a dogs dinner a little messy Wink . I feel all like I'm living the good life today - had pasta bake for tea with homegrown beans, courgette, parsley and tomatoes and then a home grown peach for pud Grin

I'm annoyed at DH today as (and really I know I should be glad) he's spent the WHOLE day clearing out our sheds and reorganising everything alphabetically . He's still going now over 10 hours later Shock . I don't mind as I know they needed sorting out but it meant a day with me alone looking after alice again with no help while he does what he wants to do whereas I never get to get any of the jobs I want to get done. It's easy for him to do what he wants Angry . Rant over. I know this is me being selfish as it's prob not exactly fun for him to do, but I wish I had the time and not an alice stuck on me to be on my own and organise things too [saddo] [desperate]

Emski76 · 20/08/2011 19:36

Reastie, Im exactly the sane as you with dh. Sometimes he can't win, and I get really stressy if he's doing what he wants and I'm 'stuck' with the boys again. Even if it's something fir the house!
Forgot to say I love your Christmas decs, they look fab. Wish I could make stuff like that!
Break dancing for Ben is running around like a loon, spinning on his bottom, and wiggling his hips. He closes his eyes in concentration as well. Were thinking he's going to be in the arts!

ILovePonyo · 20/08/2011 20:22

reastie I have just watched River Cottage with Hugh Fernley-Whittingbum and you have reminded me of him with your lovely homegrown goodness! Sounds lovely. I know exactly what you mean with dh, yes very nice you've done something useful but LOOK AFTER THE BABY TOO! Possibly a bit unreasonable but I do think we need a little break from babies every now and then (I say that after dd's rather trying day Wink) Can't wait to see the stuffed heart you make for A.

choco hello and glad you had a nice break and wedding, now get some sleep Grin wow to the crawling too, go Rom!

wiggles ah yes Danish thats it, it starts on bbc4 this week I think so will sky+ it. Enjoy your eveing in!

emski I keep a pack of empty wipes for dd to play with when I'm changing her nappy Grin I get the same warm glow thinking about xmas, can't wait I will love seeing dd's face even if she doesn't know whats really going on! She's going to get so spoiled as well Hmm (by family I mean not us of course Wink)

Right is it just me or is anyone else feeling a bit... anxious/worried about weaning? dd is not eating regularly and when she does she tastes and spits out, she'll eat a bit of puree from a spoon but mostly dribbles it back out. I think I'm worrying b'cos she still screams during every single bloody bottle so don't want her to have 'ishoos' with food too. Am trying to be chilled about it so she doesn't pick up on anything tho. I keep reminding myself she's only just over 6 months so really its all fine but you know. Thanks folks :)

wigglesrock · 20/08/2011 20:30

Ponyo seriously don't worry, I was really nervous about weaning Anna and she just took to it. I think I said before I weaned Sofia at 6 months and she just couldn't get it - I tried a few weeks later and she "got it" she was well over six months then.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 20/08/2011 20:35

Thanks wiggles, It makes sense that some babies take to it straight away but others don't. Anything to stress about I suppose Grin

reastie · 20/08/2011 21:38

ponyo I too am fretful about weaning but for different reasons. I think every esp first time parent (or at least I hope) has some Hmm Confused . If it helps I'm being IMO way too laid back re: weaning - we do something late morning/lunch time and have just started something at tea time but I have no idea what I'm doing so sometimes it's after a feed, sometimes it's in the middle as I never know what to do. She's been having food for a good 2 weeks now and she's only just starting to actually swallow a small amount and not look disguisted Wink

Thanks for relating to my dh rant. `he isn't doing it on purpose and like ems said sometimes he can't win, I just sometimes wish he'd see when I am getting towards breaking point and take alice out for a while to save a day full of mini breakdowns [drama queen]. It doesn't help that I haven't slept well all week thinking about grandad and then today I have tinnutus (sp) which is super annoying

wigglesrock · 20/08/2011 21:46

reastie you have had a really hard couple of weeks, can dh take A out in the morning, let you have some time, not to clean or cook - do you hear me young lady Grin.

Mr W does that do, he spent hours sorting out his ipod - how exactly is that helping Hmm or he uses the phrase, my own personal bug bear " I did the hoovering/washing etc for you - how the f is it for me, do I live alone?, is everyone else in the house looked after by the fairies?

OK - may need a Feb intervention - it is possible that I might have a teeny weeny crush on Gary Barlow Blush, it was the visible chest hair that done me in [swoon]

OP posts:
reastie · 20/08/2011 21:57

wiggles - I can't help I'm afraid as I'm with you on the gary barlow thing Grin . Love the fact MrW does the hoovering for you Hmm . All I get all the time is 'I would help but I don't have a boob' Angry - yeah like she feeds allllllllllll day long - that only takes a few minutes a few times a day. We are suppose to be going out tomorrow together so alas the elusive time alone will never happen. I'd really like to crack on with my sewing too Confused , ahh well, a day out might do us good.

WeAreBorg · 20/08/2011 22:15

wiggles gary barlow? really? I thought you and Jake G were a thing?? And what happened to you and Idris??? And you have the delectable Mr W on your arm! Tsk!

Reastie DH usually only notices I am at breaking point when I have one of my paddies, he fails to recognise any minor breaking point signs at all. You have had an awful lot going on, hope you are feeling okay.

ponyo DS is over 6months too, and I have no idea what we're doing. We manage to have breakfast at the same time and that seems to be the only thing he eats (maybe because it's the same time?). He knocked back a fish thing I made for lunch and had nothing, and didn't want any tea either. I think he probably has 1/2 to 1 meal a day. I was getting a bit worried about his iron stores depleting but I worry about stupid things. It makes me feel better to know other people are worried too, as my RL friends with younger babies all seem to be on 4 course banquets. Also Nate is slipping off his centile (25th), and is a bit fussy with his milk too. Poor Nate, he never manages to get the hang of anything!

expat hope last night was a blip!

Well, we have had poo!!! He (sorry you probably don't want to know this but) has been 3 times, they were very stinky (sob, bye bye lovely breast milk poos, sob) and orange and the consistency of hoummous. 12 days though...eesh

wigglesrock · 20/08/2011 22:18

WeAreBorg what can I say - I'm not fussy, I can see beauty in lots of men, I'm lucky like that Grin.

Well done Nate (I think Grin) on poo!, don't leave it so long next time!

OP posts:
Emski76 · 21/08/2011 06:46

Yes to Gary Barlow Wiggles! I love him even more now, he was so straight talking on X Factor, it was great!
Early morning here for us and unfortunately I decided to stay up late last night!

chocoroo · 21/08/2011 08:40

Erm, wiggles reastie Emski I thought I had made it very clear that all of Take That were mine? :) Although actually he's my least fave (Tory Boy tendencies) he was hot last night!

I do know what you all mean with th weaning. R has two meals a day bit won't touch anything with lumps and chokes if I give her finger food. I imagine she's going to be on Ella's pouches at uni.

And reastie, give DP a ledkr esque stare and then just enjoy your day. My DP is like yours and will disappear off to demolish the shed, build shelves and paint but won't even think about getting the Hoover out just because it's a while since it's been done. Rah!

Well, moved R unto her own room last night and it seemed to go ok. Thought I'd miss her but I didn't at all! She ended up in our bed at about 6:30 so not too bad. Need to baby proof the house today as she's on the move!

40Weeks · 21/08/2011 09:33

Back off girls, Barlow is mine. I even have a Mrs Barlow T shirt crom the last TT concert I went to, and challenged another woman to a duel who was wearing something similar.

In bed with hangover, off to catch up now

40Weeks · 21/08/2011 17:32

Where is everyone today?!?!

Emski76 · 21/08/2011 18:08

Hi 40 weeks! Im here! We've been to a festival in a park near the beach today, it was fantastic. Ben joined in the opening ceremony, waving a flag around and dancing, he even won a medal! We had such a good day. In laws have taken him home with them now so he'll be staying the night. Yippee!
How has your been?

ILovePonyo · 21/08/2011 18:30

Hi all just a quick one from me, dd just had a massive screaming fit, drank 1oz of milk then had 10 min nap and seems to be ok now Hmm Babies are confusing!

It has been quiet here today, my mum has been to visit which was lovely - been out for lunch and she bought me my birthday present early - a laptop Grin Grin I am very lucky I know!

reastie and Borg thank you for the reassurance - i feel the same as you both and am doung similar, for example dd had a couple of rice cakes (but dribbled them out) and some mango puree today. Thats it Confused
choco I think dd may be abother one on Ellas pouches at uni too haha, stocked up today!

emski yay for Ben winning his medal, how cute! Enjoy your night tonight.

borg congrats on the poo Hmm can't believe I'm saying that Grin

Oh and you lot are welcome to Gary Barlow, yuk! Though I would prefer him to creepy Mark Owen, I always think about him cheating on his v pretty wife when I see take that.

Right going to go and bath dd, back later b'cos I'm sure there is stuff I've missed :)

wigglesrock · 21/08/2011 19:20

Back from my mums - tres exciting day in Wigglesworld as usual Hmm

ponyo Mark Owen turns me too - yuk, yuk, yuk

emski glad you had a lovely day, Grin at Ben and his medal

Anna has spent most of the day rolling over and over and over, narrowly missing fireplaces and other such dangerous corners Grin She has nattered all day, singing and chatting and making such other gremlin like noises!

Deliaskis · 21/08/2011 19:24

Hi all,

Just on very quickly to say thanks for all the well wishes for work. In all honesty I will probably be on here more than I am now, as I know when I was pg and at work I was much more active as on computer all day, but will have to spend at least the first week or two looking keen and efficient.

I've packed Claudia's 'schoolbag' - the stuff she needs for nursery tomorrow, and laid out her outfit that she will be wearing in the morning...feels funny. I think it would feel better if the first day was a GP day but Monday happens to come first and Monday is a nursery day.

We've had a nice weekend anyway and I do feel fairly chilled about it in general considering I am a neurotic freak .

I've missed loads so won't comment on everything, 'cept reastie I hate it too when DH finally spends a weekend or at least half of one at home, but busies around mowing the lawn etc. so I feel like it's just another work day for me really. He is starting to get the message that 'family time' is more important than grass, although I do accept that it will need doing eventually. I think the jobs thing is going to get a bit more pressing as house move is looming, hopefully September.

Anyway, am off for now but will be on sometime in the week. Have a nice Sunday evening and a good start to the week everybody.

Dx

wigglesrock · 21/08/2011 19:37

Deliaskis enjoy tomorrow! Grin at Claudias schoolbag. Hope you have a great week x

OP posts:
reastie · 21/08/2011 19:58

delia hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow.

ems Grin to ben concentrating so hard on his dancing Wink

I agree re: mark owen. He used to be my fave in my younger days when i was obsessed i would marry him but have been yucked out by the nasty cheating man and have turned my attentions to gary, sorry choc Wink and Grin to 40 with her tshirt story

well, we didn't go out today, spent the day in the garden instead. Alice had lots of naked nappy free time and weed everywhere Hmm and I did some sewing. Feel a bit better for it now but still really Angry that I seem to be doing more and more of the chores at home - I remember when we used to share the home jobs equally but now things get left and assumed I will do it. I know I'm at home all day long but I can't leave the clingy baby alone and she gets bored of everything unless I'm actually there paying her attention Hmm so I use her nap times to do things like eating and going to the loo Confused . Think it's getting tougher for me as alice has dropped most of her daytime naps - we get maybe 3 half hour naps a day and that's it - is that normal compared to others? Quite alot of the time she seems tired but won't go to sleep (or does but only next to my boob and when I try to move her she wakes up and that's it for the nap). I actually find myself hankering a little to the earlier days as in a way I found them easier Shock . Bit of an essay there Blush

ledkr how was holiday? (or are you away longer than a week end? I forget, I'm sorry)

wigglesrock · 21/08/2011 20:07

reastie A is dropping naps a little bit too, if she is distracted by something or if we are out somewhere she will not go asleep. If you add up her naps during the day, it would probably come in at around 90 mins - 2 hours.

Re the chores etc - it can be difficult, I know that I would do more than Mr W, I think it helps us that there are certain things he always does eg he does all his own ironing, he changes the beds ( a throwback to when I hurt my back) and he does the hoovering for me Grin a few times a week and bits and pieces of shopping, but most importantly I go out without any of the girls or him once a week even if its just down to my sisters or he takes them all out to his mums.

I think ledkr is away all week but I might be wrong.

OP posts:
Emski76 · 21/08/2011 20:26

Noah is also napping less. He has an hour in the morning on bed with me, then maybe two half hour naps in the afternoon. I'm glad he's not the only one! At this age Ben was napping for one hour in the morning and three in the afternoon, then sleeping twelve hours a night! Maybe they'll sleep more when they start crawling! Crossing my fingers!
Dh pretty much does nothing in the house unless I ask him or moan! It does annoy me and I have warned him it must change when I go back to work.
Talking of which, can I confess to you all that I really don't want to go back to work. Does anyone else feel the same?
Reastie, any update on your cooking parties etc?

WeAreBorg · 21/08/2011 21:22

Evening all.

delia best of luck for going back to work, emski I feel exactly the same, I am dreading it even though not until November but time just flies.

I'm glad the other babies are also crap nappers, Nate usually has an hour in bed with me in the morning, then the other naps are sling/pram and usually 30 minutes. I really miss the days when I could pop out with the pram for about 10 minutes then come home and he'd stay asleep for another 2 or 3 hours. And to think I used to hover over him wondering if I should wake him?

I am very excited as this week I am getting carpets for the sitting and dining room, and a sideboard [I am now so boring I even think getting my online Sainsburys delivery is an event]. I think I'm going to have to start making stuff up soon to save face....
