Evening ladies

How are you and all the babies. I haven't been on for a while so have only skim read but wanted to say hi to Hubbard that I am thinking of you and little Thomas and hope you are ok.

reastie how is your dgpa doing? Such a sad time for you all.

sorry to not reply to all the posts but battery on phone hasn't got long. We are all ok, had a lovely weekend, boys at pils on thurs pm, we went to a wedding on fri and stayed over and then had a post wedding de brief BBQ for the happy couple yesterday and Owen has been a monster today and I had an epic meltdown about his behaviour (often happens on a Sunday when the week ahead stretches out in front of me) oh and wore some killer heels to said wedding, literally, as fell over in spectacular fashion on way to the loo just as the line up was finishing up. My bff's dh was with me and than god only he and one other person saw me. Am my knickers. I now have cArpets burns and bruises everywhere. Classy bird, me.

Dh playing on the wii and have a horrid feeling he is going to turn it off in time for dragons den. Git. Don't turn it off for anything I want to watch!! Grrrr. AF due yesterday, cramps today, can anyone tell??!?! God I need chocolate.

40Weeks · 14/08/2011 20:58

Yy needto Stunning dress

wigglesrock · 14/08/2011 21:13

40Weeks Grin sorry at killer heels, I always scunder myself at weddings, usually because I turn up in an outfit that someone else is wearing, usually someone younger and skinnier - bloody Debenhams Grin

Sympathies re Owen, Olivia has been having some monster moments lately. Think she misses the structure she had at playgroup. Her playgroup was run like school - uniform, breaktime, lessons, playtime etc. It was also an Irish language playgroup, so she was always learning, using her busy little brain, I think we bore her slightly Shock.

Reastie hope you had a good day, thought of you today, was in Tescos and lo and behold saw a copy of Peepo the book Grin Had never seen it before, my first thought was reastie Grin Had a browse in your honour!

Thanks wiggles Owen starts preschool in Sept so hopefully that will help him somewhat. I think it's an attention thing but it's seriously making me demented too which isn't helping one bit.

Off to bed now as eyes drooping, nighty night hole the babies sleep well is Mikey the only one up still at night? Despite 2 meals a day...yawn

ledkr · 14/08/2011 21:25

wiggs what is Irish language,i didnt realise there was one,am i relly stupid? I thought it was eejit and wee shite and that was thst,
Sil went to a wedding all done up like a dogs dinner in designer gear whilst eyeing my asos number scornfully, and someone else had hers on Grin how i laughed.
I never wear killer heels im too much of a drunk. D settled ok but what a day.dh is in spare room on same floor and i am up with Ella for a good sleep,he is going to see to her,Ella wont stop yapping now grrr, shadddup will you.
Hi jane and 40 Smile

reastie · 14/08/2011 21:30

evening,

yes, I did go to the sea side thanks Grin . nearly didn't as was soooo tired from another insomnia filled night but glad I made myself as had a really lovely day - actually had that holiday feeling you get when you are on hol by the end of the day Grin . Must admit to feeling really guilty re: not seeing PIL this week end though - that'll be 5 weeks now they haven't seen alice [terrible dil] . I thought all that fresh sea air we had today would mean alice would sleep well this evening

I was reading through old threads the other day as the reminiscing made me Wink . I read the first one but was so hard keeping track of so many people on it and I do remember I was heaps more nervous than I would have been as we had a fair few mcs which made me Sad and [sob] every time. I still often think of some of those who left the thread. It has been an incredible source of support for me though and by gum i needed it . I was thinking earlier that we might be booking a holiday for beg oct and then I thought to myself 'but dilly is having her op then so I want to be on the thread' Grin

40 but I bet the heels were worth it by how fab they looked.

wonder how byron is enjoying devon

wiggles peepo is a really good book Grin

deb enjoy france Envy

Gpa still same - not much longer now they say :(

I also have eating issues. I think mine are partly psychological but I struggle so much with hunger at the minute (which i put down to bfing). I try to cut back a little on intake and I just go shaky and sicky with low blood sugar type feeling Shock . I hate myself so much but I don't know what else to do. I\m not eating junk but I am eating too much of what I eat. NHS fat fighters here I come Grin . It definately makes it worse when I'm tired too (which is all the time)

slightly epic post there Blush

ledkr · 14/08/2011 21:35

Ah thanks reastie thats lovely x must sleep now.

wigglesrock · 14/08/2011 22:24

ledkr yup, different language, I never learned it at school, my mum was too much of a snob middle class Grin Enjoy your sleep!

reastie really pleased you had a good day x

jane sent e-mail to work saying thanks but no thanks Shock eek!

Off to bedingtons Grin Anna seems to wake the minute I set foot on the bottom stair! Ears like a bat. Night night xx

reastie · 14/08/2011 22:31

alice still blinking awake here Confused . think the fresh sea air has had the opposite of intended effect Hmm

chocoroo · 14/08/2011 22:45

Evening all,

I'm up in the sunny (believe it or not) Lake District and smiling at you all reminiscing. I wasn't always posting through the PG days but I did read all the time - a bit like stalking but you all kept me sane while I was still at work.

reastie I'm also having problems with eating. I look back with sadness to the days I was so tiny I could wear anything. I'm going to start excercising properly when I get home. Perhaps we can all inspire each other, like when we were preggers? Seaside sounds fab, R stole my ice cream in Bournemouth last week, I was bloody fuming.

40 wiggles ledkr I too am usually too much of a lush for heels. However, I will give you all a quid if you can work out why we're in the Lake District...yep, that's right. A wedding. I have brought two outfits, in case of rain, and two pairs of shoes, both are ridiculously high. FIL has already made several comments about how he will HAVE to drive us from the church to reception because I am insisting on wearing stupid shoes. I told him I would get a cab.

deb Yay for weight gains! Fab news :)

need to I'm totalky with emski I just looked at your dress and cried. It's stunning. I am seriously thinking about ditching tradition and proposing to DP on 29th Feb next year.

Four4 Glad London was fun. You see it through such different eyes with little ones.

tad Boo to the extra nigt feeds, when will these babies learn Hmm

So it's lovely up here, never been before. The house has wireless which is a bonus so I can MN. R is loving all the attention but I'm getting driven mental by DM and MIL talking to R every time I try and feed her. She just plays up. Totally turned her nose up at some lentil stuff earlier, she's only into purees and fake wotsits. We escaped to the pub for a couple of pints earlier. I'm planning on at least one night drunk in the local, without counting the wedding.

Trying to persuade everyone to go to Go Ape tomorrow,...they want a nice walk by the lake....

janedoe25 · 15/08/2011 07:22

Morning all,

reastie i hope Alice slept last night, i was asleep before her!
Still thinking about you and your Grandad x

chocco Go Ape is fab, we have one about 40 mins away LOVE IT! Hope you have a fab time at manage a drunken night out.Grin

I don't do heels, god knows how im going to cope on my wedding day! I am more of a tomboy and live in my converse. I am going to order some for the wedding for us both - custom made MR and Mrs ones Grin.

Hope everyone has a good day, im off to have a quick hoover before the kids descend.

reastie · 15/08/2011 07:48

morning,

jane I love the idea of mr and mrs converses Grin

choc Shock you've been to more weddings this summer than I've been to in my whole lifetime Wink .

Alice not great last night - asleep by 10:45 and then awake a bit in the night and up for the day at 5:30. That's my sea air theory out of the window. She did sleep alot yesterday though in the car/buggy so maye she had too much sleep in the day Hmm

Off to attempt my excercise dvd - hope alice allows me to Grin

ledkr · 15/08/2011 09:24

reastie dilly did that the other day, perfect day, late night, was convinced she'd sleep but no up at 5.30.
She woke hysterical at ten last night,we all rushed to her cot,i couldnt calm her down was really worried.Dh got her a bottle and as soon as the teat touched her lips she stopped!! Dh said she didnt finish her last bottle but Shock at that fuss, weirdo.
Dh has finally staryted his hols.I went down just now and he has Dilly and is watching his collecetion of war docus Hmm i came back to bed with Ella and a cuppa. We are off to the docks for a wander round later.

Re the food thing. Its reassuring to know others are the same.I think its boredom but i also find myself "rewarding" myself when D goes to sleep.I kinf of think ooo ill have some nice lunch or a nice cake with my tea. Am going to do sw in sept and shred daily, really put my mind to it,im wasting my life feeling crappy and only wearing a few of my nice clothes.

40Weeks · 15/08/2011 09:40

Morning girls

Jane I LOVE the mr & mrs converse idea, genius!

Mike slept well last night, only woke for a feed at 3.30 and then til 7 and woke up happy in his cot rather than whinging which is always lovely. We are currently at the boys' football class and M is snoozing so have 5 mins to say hi to you all.

Btw I don't normally wear heels, hence the stack but reastie you are right they were gorgeous! I doubt I will ever wear them again but may frame them as they need to be appreciated and would be wasted in a wardrobe Grin

choc enjoy the wedding and the shoes, men just don't understand do they? They can sit & watch a grand prix with the same cars going round the same track for hours but can't see how the shoes maketh the outfit. I bet you look fab.

Enjoy your DVD reastie I need to pu my finger out and shift some weight, jeans are far too tight

Did you sleep well ledkr?

Whats on the agenda for today wiggles O holiday guru?

wigglesrock · 15/08/2011 10:15

40Weeks Mr W off today, so I am relinquishing holiday duties Grin, he got up with girls this morning and I slept until 9am Shock Am heading to the park later, its near us but is quite big so its a bit of a nightmare taking the three of them on my own. Sofia and Olivia always want to do different things!

ledkr thats always how I start smoking again - as a reward for the girls sleeping, I do it with food too - really trying not to and almost looking forward to the Sept shred Grin

Jane converse lovely idea! My sister keeps trying to donate shoes to me, think its so I don't embarrass her with my collection of three pairs of Boots and 2 pairs of trainers Grin

OP posts:
WeAreBorg · 15/08/2011 11:32

40 no you are not the only one, N still wakes up at night. Sometimes LOTS.
wiggles is anna still messing about at night? reastie i think N had one of his worse nights ever after I took him to the beach, sea air = rubbish!

I have managed to get back in my skinny jeans - I really only think this is because N is such a bad sleeper I end up traipsing around all day in the wind and rain, and am breast feeding a 6 month old round the clock and he is still only eating tiny bits. So I can wear my nice things again except I'm too tired to do anything, and am completely tied to a non-sleeping, bottle and food refusing baby. So it swings and roundabouts I reckon?

jane getting married in converse sounds good to me! Although not sure they would go with the gorgeous dress you showed us. needtos dress is stunning too.

deb very jealous of your day trip to france, very cosmopolitan, and congratulations on Sabine's weight gain!

choco yes go to go ape, we went to that one in the lakes, it was brill.

reastie thinking of you and grandpa, hope he is nice and comfortable.

44me glad you had a nice time, the natural history museum is one of my favourite places ever (nerd)

led and expat wow for the crawlers! N is nowhere near, he has only just stopped detesting tummy time, and just sticks his bum in the air and wiggles it about. Sometimes he manages to push himself forward like a caterpillar but he looks ridiculous Grin

Meant to ask (nosy) where is expat from and why are you over here? Jealous of your transatlantic trip - how was L on the plane? I am dreading taking old screamer on one. We're meant to be going to South Africa for a wedding in October but I don't think me and N will go as no money and I won't be able to do the things I want to do - safari etc, and we would be broke for his first christmas. There I'm the first to mention Christmas!!!

ledkr I think I've said this before but I'll say it again, you ex-H sounds like a nob, I'm so glad you're with your lovely man now.

janedoe25 · 15/08/2011 11:54

borg the converse are for later in the evening for dancing when my feet are too sore for lady shoes! Oh and Yay for the skinny jeans!

I must have missed the post about the crawlers! Can't believe that the babies are starting to get mobile Shock

janedoe25 · 15/08/2011 11:58

Keep forgetting to ask wiggles did your sister manage to me Mr sexy Leto? Have a good day at the park Grin

americanexpat · 15/08/2011 12:56

Just to clarify, L isn't actually crawling, only looking like he really wants to!

WeAreBorg - I'm from the midwest, near-ish to Minneapolis (though not really close at all but it's some place most people know without being too identifying). DH was offered a job here 4 years ago and here we are. I'm looking forward to moving back though; since L was born, I've realised just how far away from our families we are.

L was decent on the flights, though sitting still for extended periods is not his forte. I spent most of a 7 hour flight there standing and rocking him, but he slept through the overnight flight home. I would not do it again on my own unless I had to.

Borg, my sister in broken sleep, L waking only twice is a good night for us. Last night he was up 4 times. Hmm I'm not back in my skinny jeans though, I'm always so knackered I eat loads of junk for quick energy.

Jane - the his and her converses sound lovely. Grin

ledkr - your DH sounds like mine. Is he narrating for D? DH likes to talk to L about biology and maths. Hmm

I tripped over the leg of the highchair this morning and took a massive spill in the kitchen. Both knees are bleeding, one elbow is scuffed and I have a huge lump on my shin. Luckily I wasn't carrying L at the time.

Four4me · 15/08/2011 18:05

needto I love the dress. And Jane also love the converse shoes idea.

expat hope you are ok after your fall? Good job you weren't carrying L!

Good day here, took all the gang to my friends house and they all played in the garden with her two girls. You remember my friend that had baby Hattie? Well she has realised that when the midwife weighed her at birth in kilos she didn't correctly convert to lb and oz. So she was 8lb 7 not 9lb 2. Of course when she was weighed at 5 days old it looked like she had lost loads. She knew that there was no way she had lost such a lot coz she has been ff since birth and was emptying every bottle three hourly!

Archie is still a little poppet. He is totally chilled and can only roll onto his front one way and then is totally stuck. He looks like someone parachute jumping with only his tummy in contact with the floor and chest and legs off the floor. But he doesn't need to learn to roll back as when he gets sick of it he winges and one of his big brothers rolls him back..... Some advantages of having older siblings! He is loves standing up on my knee bolt upright, but is not able to sit unsupported at all. All of mine have been 'steady' developers so he is following suit.

Hope everyone has had the same good weather that we have had here in N Yorks today?

ledkr · 15/08/2011 19:17

jane i was in cloggs a few hrs after i wlaked down the aisle,my cousin wore trainers under her dress.
four4 sounbds like a nice day,its ok here we went to the pool in the end, dilly still swims even when cold, she had big paddy when we got her out but i think it was the cold, brrrr.
Had a laugh when got back.Dh did his usual sit on arse in front of pc.There were bags to unpack and D needed to eat and Ella needed chasing to the shower.I saw to the kids and then sat on my arse too.All the bags are still on the table. He has gone up to bath D and asked me "what time are we eating?" hahaha What are we eating? more like. Have done nothing.I will keep you posted on how long the bags stay there.Off to longleat tomorrow,we got a good discount for coppers, quite looking forward to it.

wigglesrock · 15/08/2011 19:26

Four4me I'm convinced the same thing happened with Anna re weight, when she was weighed at birth the midwife converted it to 8lbs8.5 oz but in my very humble opinion she wasn't that heavy, Olivia was 8lb8 and Sofia was 6lb 10 and she was certainly more like S than O. When she was weighed at a subsequent appt the midwife told me she hadn't gained as much weight as she thought she should have Hmm. Anna is a wee dote too, she seems to have just slotted right in, she giggles uncontrollably when she sees the other two esp Sofia!!

americanexpat ouch, happy 6 month birthday to L Grin, Olivia was trying to persuade us to have half a party for A today, she's such a chancer!

WeAreBorg Anna is going down to bed at about 7pmish and usually waking up for a bottle at around 11pm and then up at some other point during the night.

Jane Its Mr Leto night tomorrow night Grin Sister is being a tad precious regarding letting me into gawk, she told me if I worked for her for the night she'd let me into the VIP area - I have avoided working for my sister for years, not even Jared could convince me Grin Funny enough she has Liam Gallagher in this week as well and no-one wants to work that night Grin

OP posts:
americanexpat · 15/08/2011 19:56

wiggles - happy half birthday to A as well! I can't believe I didn't think to have a half birthday party, I'm usually well up for anything that involves cake. It also makes me feel better that A is still waking during the night - certain family members keep telling me to give him loads of formula to get him to sleep through.

ledkr - enjoy your rest. Grin

I'm still nursing my wounds, it's painful to go up and down the stairs. L thought it was absolutely hilarious when I fell though. Hmm

I've added some new photos, there's one of me in a bathing suit, you have been warned! Grin

janedoe25 · 15/08/2011 20:30

Can i ask you all a tmi question? I just had a shower and noticed white spots on my nipple (a bit like fluff) , i picked them out and gave my nipple a squeeze (as you do) and more came out. Has this happened to anyone else? After giving birth i was given medication to stop my milk comming in so it's not last bits of milk? Confused and Blush

Hope you are ok after your fall expat

wigglesrock · 15/08/2011 21:13

jane this has happened to me ages ago, I thought it was fluff from pj top, I did the same thing as you and got a little more, it was away by the next time I looked so forgot about it, hasn't happened again, not that I'd noticed Grin

americanexpat gorgeous photos, L is so smiley Grin The amount Anna eats or bottles she had makes no difference to how she sleeps, I tried everything with Olivia re bottles/food/different formula but nothing conked her out helped Grin
