Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
americanexpat · 13/08/2011 14:19

ledkr - L is doing that too, up on his hands and knees and rocking. Shock He also mummified himself in a blanket, I had to keep unrolling and unrolling before I got to him. Grin He looked so pleased with himself when I finally uncovered him.

hubbard - try not to feel guilty (easier said than done, I know). As someone said, most dogs are around children with absolutely no problem, you had no way of knowing this would happen.

reastie - I hope your grandad's last days are comfortable. It's such a difficult time, I'll be thinking about you.

Another decent night with L. We adjusted his bedtime to 10pm (the jet lag helped) and he was up at 2 and 6 then woke me at 9 this morning chattering in his cot. I was resisting putting him in his room but I think we both sleep better now.

ledkr · 13/08/2011 15:43

expat i was sad about my last baby going in her won room but have seriously never looked back. Am much more sane since i have my privacy.

reastie i have onlky just had a proper read, poor you with your gpa,its ahorrible time,so many of us have had this on this thread, hope hes being well looked after.

I read the thread where i had Delilah,i was a little wet around the eyes, its seemed strange reading myself saying all Dillys problems,i sounded matter of fact but remember i felt shit.

What a boring day, goignt to a party later, does anyone else find it really hard to be motivated about anything these days? I feel so lazy.

reastie · 13/08/2011 17:00

thanks for all he gpa wishes. I think it sort of hit me yesterday afternoon that he's not going to be around much longer and I've been really wobbly since. Tbh tomorrow I'm desperate for some sea air - I just feel like I need to stare at the sea for a few hours. I know this might sound a little Hmm but I love staring at the sea - could do it for hours. Anyway, I don't know if I'll be able to as PIL want to see us alice and I feel a bit guilty if we don't as they haven't seen her for a few weeks as they've been on holiday, so we shall see who wins (btw deb if we go I am going near your recommendation thanks Grin )

Shock at these crawlers. I don't want my little baby to grow up Grin

ledkr I can't be motivated about anything either . I'm glad dh realises pils behaviour was bad and he feels guilty btw - it shows he's a good egg Grin Wink

So is alice the only baby not in her own room yet? we had a good night last night - 7 pm - 6am with a dream feed in there too. V unusual. Shame I couldn't sleep Confused

jane is everything gleaming yet?

wiggles how was the weather?

deb how was the party

choc hope you're having a good hol

needto as you know I absolutely love your chosen dress, and am already looking forward to piccies of the event [saddo]

I feel really annoyed as nearly got an amazing free 2 story wooden wendy house for alice the garden when she's older for FREE today (from freecycle) ..... but it wouldn't fit in dhs van Angry Sad

janedoe25 · 13/08/2011 17:46

reastie staring at the sea doesn't sound strange at all, i love to do that too, it's a great place to gather thoughts. If you need to talk about your grandad im here.
How annoying about the wendy house! That would have been a great freebie, have you seen how much those things cost?

We are off out later to visit df's granny in hospital then going to see planet of the apes - excited to see it!

Hope everyone has a nice night.

tadjennyp · 13/08/2011 20:57

Staring at the sea sounds like a wonderful way to gather your thoughts, reastie. Sammy is also still in with us as he seems to be having more night feeds now he's on solids. Hmm

Ledkr, sorry your dh is still feeling bad about the way his parents behaved. Shows what a great guy he is. Makes you wonder how they managed to produce him!

Hope bedtimes are going well and everyone's had a great day.

ledkr · 13/08/2011 21:10

Ah reastie ifelt like that when gma was looking ropey, she's ok for now but i hardly get to see her cos of the girls,im always so busy but am defo goinmg tomorrow.
We hav just been to a party,it was a local guys b'day Ella was charging about and Dilly ate ajam snadwhich and a mini milk Grin We had to come home cos Dilly a bit tired but i had my drinking head on and wanted to stay.Ella is still there with friends and i feel all uneasy as it was a tad rough.
Well,Dilly is actually moving along on her tummy-fast.I have just realised that if i think the last 6 months were hard then its all to come, good for the weight loss tho.I cant believ she cant even sit up yet but is crawling. She kind of pulls with her hands and pushed with her feet and off she goes Shock

wigglesrock · 13/08/2011 21:11

Evening all

Had lovely day today, weather was great in the afternoon Shock, girls all absolutely exhausted. My best friends little boy (he's a little younger than O) has some developmental speech delays and she had a really hard time at the end of last year/beginning of this year but he is really coming on leaps and bounds and he loves spending time with the girls so it was fab. He worships Sofia and she loves him so everyone was in great form. And I managed not to get lost Grin

reastie I love the sea, that's where we were today, hope you get some rest, thinking of you xx

ledkr I re-read all of our pregnancy threads about 2 months ago and I was in tears the whole way through, especially when D had to go back into hospital, you were so brave and so strong and so supportive of all of us throughout all our moans.

jane same goes for you too Grin, I read the post when you told us Zoe had died and I will never forget your dignity and the love you had for Zoe shining out.

I would like to point out that I haven't been at the sauce Grin, nor am I feeling especially sentimental, I didn't mean to re-read all the threads but I was looking for something boring in relation to my work and ending up sitting up for hours. Kept meaning to mention it and say how grateful I was that I joined MN if only to show me the errors of my fashion and social faux pas for you all Grin

OP posts:
tadjennyp · 13/08/2011 22:08

That's really sweet wiggles. I know we've all said it before, but it's great to be able to come on here and rant/get some perspective. Glad you had a great day out/party wiggles and ledkr. Nothing exciting happening here. A & E having quiet time and Sammy being sick everywhere. Meant to say that E had another accident the other day, just after we were talking about it, and bashed his chin up at the park. It wasn't appropriate after Tom though. Good luck with the bedtimes.

wigglesrock · 13/08/2011 22:20

tad I also meant to say - on a roll here now Grin I think Anna is waking up for more night feeds now that she's on solids Hmm, daft baby has got it the wrong way round methinks!

OP posts:
ledkr · 14/08/2011 08:21

wiggles you old fool Grin I was also crying at Janes posts but the ones before when she was pg and we had no idea what was to come. I think some people think we are mad on mn all the time but i personally wouldnt have been without it,it made my pg really special and bearable and i hope we all stay in touch for a long time to come.
i defo havent been on the sauce for once,i have just been up since 5.390 and had one of my rants at dh about being far too old to be up this early and feeling fed up with baby life Grin
Am going to take Ella off to a hotel this week for a break and some sleep.going to do the deal thing where you go to lego land and stay over after.
I think i get frustrated when she wakes up so early but is then knackered but wont go back to sleep.

janedoe25 · 14/08/2011 11:13

Check out the sentimental oldies Wink

Seriously, i think there must be something in the air because i done the same thing a few weeks ago. I was/am so touched with all the well wishes, i know i have said it before but i couldn't have got through the hard dark days without you lot. It would be fantastic if we had a thread meet up one day, such a shame we all live so far apart.

ledkr a night away to legoland sounds fab, ella will love it and you can sleep, double the fun!

Four4me · 14/08/2011 11:59

Well we are back from fab few days in London! Thomas and Imogen had fun at dpil and dh, Joey, A and I had a great time. We visited the Natural History Museum, Buckingham Palace, the Eye, Tower bridge and Trafalgar Square.

A is so knackered he didn't wake till 9 this morning and yuke he was all wet as his nappy had leaked, poor little man.

hubbard have been thinking of you.

reastie I did 'it' on an open top bus, in B.Palace and on the London Eye! Thought of you! But now he has two teeth - ouch ouch he bit down on me when we were on the bus. Me not likee!

Right off to do some more of the washing mountain. At least my dmil has done most of T and Im's.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

ledkr · 14/08/2011 12:10

Less of the old jane grrrr. Its funny isnt it cos at the time when people wished me well when D was ill i didnt take it in cos so stressed-is that how you were?

44m I love a good trip to London,it sounds like you had a fabbo time.

I am at a complete loss with D today,up at 5.30 and has slept for an hour, been fed, poohed and changed and yet is so grumpy.I seem to be moving her around constantly from chair to floor to stander to bouncer. Is only happy for about 5 mins and the day is still young and im so tired.I think im going to go to bed when dh walks thru the door, you know when enough's enough.

Four4me · 14/08/2011 13:45

ledkr do you think a tooth is cutting through?

ledkr · 14/08/2011 14:51

Thanks 4 tis truly a trying day.She wont sleep but is tired,i have got her off twice by going for a walk even tho i have the energy of an 80 yr old but she wakes after few mins,i have tried cuddling her but she isnt a cuddly baby really and was just assaulting me Grin I gave her some baby coke yes,i think she is asleep again now for a bit.
Does anyone else find on dsys like this they keep eating?

ledkr · 14/08/2011 14:52

No teeth yet or sign of them.

Emski76 · 14/08/2011 15:09

Ledkr, the bad, boring days for me are when I eat loads, I think of it as almost depressive eating!
Noah is still teething, had sone quite miserable days, but still no tooth thru. He has one cutting but no movement fir days!
I can only echo the support I have gotten from this thread. I really do think of you all as friends. Maybe when the little ones are older we could all chose a place and meet up, would be amazing!
Ben is with in laws this weekend so chilling with dh and Noah today.
Ledkr, ive been looking at taking Ben to Legoland but think were gonna go to Longleat instead. Dh had week off in September, we were going to go away but are going on day trips instead.
Hope your all ok

NeedToSleepZZZ · 14/08/2011 15:21

ledkr I know what you mean exactly when you say about D assaulting you, B practically ripped my nose off when trying to settle him for his nap earlier, he drew blood (note to self to cut his fingernails). Some days you just can't win and I sympathise, maybe she'll make up for it tonight???? [hopeful emoticon]

So strange, think this reminiscing thing is in the air as I went back through the threads a few weeks ago and even posted on the feb 2012 ante natal one about what a great time to have a baby it was??? Confused They must now know think I'm nuts.

wiggles I hope the day at the seaside has sorted out the sleeping probs, if not then give her a copy of a guide to babies and let her read that!

Very excited pfb moment yesterday as B has the tiniest top of a tooth emerging. Actually punched the air at the thought of the light at the end of the teething tunnel but realise it's a looong way off.

For anyone that wants a peek then this is my wedding dress. I've ordered it in a size too small to get inspired to get fit again and, feeling hopeful, I said I could always have it taken in if necessary then my dm muttered 'or let out' Blush

Have a good day ladies, off to the shop for chocolate fruit Grin

ledkr · 14/08/2011 15:57

LOVELY DRESS NEEDTO did you see on the thread that it was me who was awake when you started contractions!
the dress is lovely, not dis similar to my first one-Grin it was vintage from camden market and £140, i took it to notting hill carnival in a bag cos bought it on the way.

em the eating is defo like an illness,im thinking of what to eat next some days. Must make sure i get out more.
strange,i have decided on longleat this week,it looks nice.decided to make it a family day out cos not too far and its nice to come home to my own bed.
Re the meet up,i thought maybe we could meet up at my pils, get our own back Grin

Emski76 · 14/08/2011 16:22

Beautiful dress Need to, wish I was getting married again so I could wear a dress like that!
Ledkr, I am constantly thinking of my next meal, dh does wonder if I'm ill sometimes!!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 14/08/2011 16:23

Thanks ledkr, love the idea of you partying with your wedding dress in your bagGrin I remember all too well that night where you helped me keep a sense of sanity. It feels like a million years ago and yesterday at the same time. I remember all of us mentally holding your hand through your csec and then complaining that you hadn't actually mned in the operating theatre! Longleat sounds fun, I haven't been very adventurous with B yet but must get to see my db soon and give B his first taste of the tube.

Big Grin at the thought of your pils faces when Feb 11 massive turn up at the door complete with overnight bags and no food!

ems My OH has the first week of Sept off too and so far our plans consist of decorating, tres exciting Hmm. I'm dreading the nights drawing in as that's when I take comfort in carbs. I hope N's tooth comes through really soon.

ledkr · 14/08/2011 17:42

Its just us 3 on here today then Grin everyone else must be doing that enjoying the weeken thing. Dh back soon am counting the minutes.Poor Dilly managed to nod off on my lap but dd1 woke her slamming the door grrr. She seems better for some calpol.

Yes the pils will love it when about 40 women need to use the shower and have coffees and teas-i thought we could wait untill one of them has had major surgery first what do you think?

Ex h made a gem today. He has never paid a penny for kids and i have always managed to take them away even when single Mum.Today he announces he will be taking D to Jamaica (over my dead body) and i need to pay for it Grin Yeah right, ill contribute to his family holiday and let her have time off school too NOT. What a joke,i felt quite murderous. He never even gave them a pound for an ice cream when ive taken them away grrrrr.

Ok then the winging commences again

debka · 14/08/2011 20:01

Hey you three Grin

Not sure why I've not been on, weekends no different from the rest of the week for me, except family come and visit a bit. Went to the party for my friend's son who is 4 days younger than S- OMG he is a MONSTER, he weighs over FIVE POUNDS more than S and just looked huge! He's not sitting up that well yet and was a bit slower with reactions so did seem rather ponderous next to my dinky little dinkster.

Had her weighed at last, 13lb8!! She gained 1lb5 in 4 weeks- the last 1lb 5 took 4.5 MONTHS to go on!! Obviously solids were the right move! She's still sleeping well, last night she had a little cry at 3 but I ignored her and she went back off till 6 :)

ledkr Dilly sounds tired to me, hope she went off ok tonight. LOVE the idea of a meet up at your pils!!

jane sorry to nag but we haven't heard much of your TTCing recently Grin

44me so glad you got to London and had such a fabbo time, I am imagining you on the top deck of an open London bus with your bazongas out now!! Grin

needto gorgeous gorgeous dress.

I wasn't on so much when pg, although I was when we were all finally giving birth, but I agree with ems, I do consider you all friends :)

Hopefully reastie has had a lovely day by the sea today.

We're off to la France tomorrow for the day, living 10 mins from Dover has its advantages! DH wants to Inspect a WW2 Installation near Dunkerque (yawn yawn yawn), it's on the beach though so Imy and I can play in the sand and paddle.

OK epic post over, hope you're all enjoying your evenings. xxx

wigglesrock · 14/08/2011 20:26

Hello, been up at my Mums for most of the day - decided to have a bbq, heavens opened and their back garden almost flooded Grin Is there anything that says summer in NI more than sitting inside eating food that is supposed to be bbqed Grin

Four4me really glad you had a good time and you did it on a double decker Grin

NeedToSleep absolutely beautiful dress, agree with emski Envy at the thought of getting married.

ledkr I think we should all meet up in Jamaica courtesy of your ex wanker husband! Hope D settles for you tonight x

debka Have a lovely time tomorrow, glad S is sleeping well for you said through gritted teeth Grin

A is properly onto lumpy food, still grizzling about teeth, nothing has appeared but her right cheek is roaring red and up like a bap Grin Mr W finally finishes work at midnight but in at 7am on Wed morning, so are trying to fit in loads of bits and pieces before Sofia goes back to school at end of month.

Work have e-mailed me about doing another few KIT days but am going to say nope, couldn't be bothered, the days they are offering are awkward re childcare and they've only asked me in to cover someone elses leave not exactly the point of KIT days Hmm. Possibly the first work thing I have am going to just completely refuse Shock.

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 14/08/2011 20:54

Hope D is ok ledkr

debka enjoy yourday at the beach tomorrow [jelous] about france! Not much to report on the ttc front, AF is due on wed and feel pmt'd up. Think im out again this month.
