Grin Envy deb - how did you manage that? do you get to keep the toy and recorder after? ooohhhhhhhhh

wiggles Sad to your bad night - I'd be moaning alot more than you about it as we all know

borg at one of my previous jobs as part of my contract I HAD to opt out of that working time regulations - they told me if I wanted to opt back in I had to do a seperate letter stating I wanted to opt into it and gave me a massive stare implying I better not dare to Shock . That doesn't sound fair re: your dh though. there are some great experts on some threads here with employment law - might be work asking and see what they come up with?

ledkr hope you have a good day out and hrh dilly (and ella) behave themselves

delia I googled your pram it looks really nice. Has it arrievd yet Envy ?

jane your fil sounds really odd - why get a car thing when you've already got df one Hmm

Well, christening has been postponed :( gdad not looking good - it's got to the point where he's on strong painkiller to stop him suffering in his last days :(

wigglesrock · 12/08/2011 15:23

debka less stoic more of a martyr complex Grin, Knackered now, only 4 hours until bedtime. I applied for that toy testing too [glaring], haven't heard anything, not one of the chosen few Grin I think you get to keep it, don't you? Which toy are you testing ?

reastie sorry about the christening x Thinking of your grandad, hope he gets some relief from the pain xx

ledkr lucky you re picnic, its chucking it down here.

WeAreBorg how are you doing this afternoon?, think I may have hit the wall of tiredness Grin Mr W is actually bound by the working directive Hmm He's only detailed to work 40 hours a week, overtime is "optional". They have to have 11 hours between each shift as well, although there's been loads of times he's ran over.

OP posts:
WeAreBorg · 12/08/2011 17:17

Grin wall of tiredness, I feel randomly okay, but then I don't have 3 kids wiggles!
reastie hope your grandad is comfortable, sorry the christening had to be delayed. Still want to see your outfit though
deb how were you selected?! How exciting.

I've pestered DH before about his job and hours (he works in A&E) but they're always so short staffed he doesn't want to upset his bosses. He doesn't like leaving the juniors without support, and won't leave if it's heaving (which is always) so I think he brings it on himself. I reckon the management take advantage of his dedication but he never gets any thanks for it. led and wiggles sounds like the same kind of thing for your DHs too. Boo being married to nice guys!

deb I think I might have to look at training Nate, you had great results with Sabine. I wish someone could do it for me though! I'm going to wait until he's definitely over his virus then maybe see. He's soooo grumpy today, better rescue again

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/08/2011 17:25

Oh reastie, so sorry to hear about your granddad, I hope the pain relief is doing its job and that he's comfortable. Thinking of you.

deb so Envy at your being the chosen one Wink Hope Imy enjoys her new toy!

borg that sounds awful about your DH's hours and the pressure to do extra shifts for nothing but sadly in this age it's becoming more and more common. Legally he could refuse but I know what you mean about the comeback if he did, it sucks.

wiggles another case of work taking over family life, it's so rubbish (but necessary unfortunately). I hope you can manage to get some time together another time.

jane Hope the dress hunting went well but if not then I've just bought my wedding dress from this site www.weddingdressonlineshop.co.uk/, it hasn't arrived yet but the prices are amazing so maybe worth a look.

Took B to an aquarium today and he loved it. Got splashed when they were feeding the rays and he was doing his little jig that he does when standing up and excited. Was meant to go to Clapham to see my db but wasn't up to it so will try again next week.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/08/2011 17:42

Oh yes, meant to say that we need to talk about kevin is being released next month (I think...). I agree ledkr that Tilda Swinton is exactly how I imagined Eva to look but not so sure about the actor playing Franklin, I thought he'd be more conventionally handsome. Here's a link to a little clip www.guardian.co.uk/film/video/2011/aug/12/we-need-to-talk-about-kevin-video. I think it'll be in the running for the Oscars next year.

Emski76 · 12/08/2011 17:52

Reastie, sorry about your grandad and having to cancel the christaning. Near the end my grampy was being morphine to keep him comfortable, he won't be feeling any pain.
Need to, I gave got We need to talk about Kevin for my Kindle so will have to start reading soon. Maybe we should all go to see the film when it comes out, then discuss it on here?!
Borg, Wiggles, Ledkr, we have another case of work overtaking family life here. Dh was up at 4.30am to go into work early and still isn't home now. He's a manager behind the scenes at Royal Mail and sometimes seems more dedicated to the bloody postal service than his family! Am trying to keep calm and not call him to ask where he is......but not sure how much longer I can last after spending the day with a full of energy almost four year old and a teething baby!
Debs, well done on being a 'chosen one'!
Better go Noah is whinging again!

hubbard86 · 12/08/2011 18:05

hi everyone. Just a quick one while dh does bathtime. Tom is ok just very bruised and sore. Thank you all for the lovely messages of support. I'm feeling very guilty and messed up. I know in the rational part of my brain i shouldn't be feeling guilty but he was my dog, and it was my decision to keep him when tom was born. Hopefully the scars will fade along with his memory of it. His stitches will come out nxt wed under heavy sedation which i'm not looking forward too but i have to be strong for him. Will be on soon to catch up with all your news xx

janedoe25 · 12/08/2011 18:09

reastie So sorry to hear about your grandad, as the others have said he will be comfortable and pain free. Hope you are ok?

needto when are you getting married? I already have my dress, i ordered my wee sisters flower girl dress today.

debka the chosen one! well done Grin

Deliaskis · 12/08/2011 18:20

reastie sorry to hear about your Grandad and hope the next few days are OK for you, I mean that sounds ridiculous, but I mean I hope they're as OK as possible.

Hubbard good to hear from you and glad to hear Tom is on the mend. Try not to feel guilty. You might have chosen to keep the dog, but you didn't do that knowing this was going to happen, so you are absolutely not to blame. The stitches out day will be tough but will fade and will one day be a distant memory.

Deb lol at being chosen, have fun with the test.

Everyone stop talking about Kevin, I'll tell him.

Boooo for Led and wiggles and Borg with long working DHs, it's hard isn't it? DH isn't in any kind of shift type work but does work long hours and a lot of the time work comes first with family second, which I sometimes have a hard time with.

New buggy arrived in the 1 hour time slot they said, and I have spent the afternoon neglecting Claudia playing with it and then took C out for a walk in it. It's fab and I'm v pleased with decision.

Off to cook dinner now. Have a nice Friday evening and hope those babies sleep.

Dx

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/08/2011 18:56

Jane I'm getting married next may (hopefully Wink), only going to be a small cheap thing. So much to organise isn't there?

delia Grin at Kevin. Good to hear the buggy is living up to expectations, Im suffering a bit of buggy envy now Grin

Hubbard feeling for you, please try to go easy on yourself as you've been through so much. I'm sure Tom will be fine and he wont remember a thing.

tadjennyp · 12/08/2011 19:30

Good to hear from you hubbard, glad Tom is feeling better. Take care.

Sorry about your Gd reastie, hope everything is peaceful for him.

Sorry about the weekend as well wiggles and everyone else whose dh just works silly hours. Mine came to bed at 2 last night after doing some work and was up again first thing to get to work for 8. Hmm And I wonder why I'm on MN such a lot! Grin

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday evening. Just off to pick the dcs up for lunch. Grin american at your target habit!

wigglesrock · 12/08/2011 19:33

NeedToSleep beautiful wedding dress site, very jealous, I'd love to be getting married again, obviously to the same man Grin, think Zac Efron might have better offers I love the little "I'm so excited" dance the babies do!

deliaskis glad you are in possession of your Cs new buggy Grin. Enjoy!

Jane Is your sister your only bridesmaid?

hubbard lovely to hear from you, as I said before please take it easy on yourself, I have a dog too. Give Tom a big hug from all of us, getting stitches out will be fine, it looks sorer than it is xx

Girls all in bed, just about to check on S&O and let them think that I think they are asleep. Fake snoring noises not Olivias' strong point. Can't decide whether to just go to bed, get a film from Virgin or watch the Lovely Bones - God direct me Grin as my granny would say!

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 12/08/2011 19:58

wiggles Grin at the fake snoring! I have my 2 wee sisters, the elder one as bridesmaid and the 10 yr old as flower girl.

I was supposed to being out tonight to see a friends band play with df, but i just can't be assed im too tired. I talked him into going with his friend instead . Early night for me!

wigglesrock · 12/08/2011 20:44

jane the fake snoring was very Daddy Pig tonight Grin Olivia was in great form today - she presided over the first same sex marriage in Happyland today - she is obsessed with Happyland playsets Grin She decided the mechanics from the Garage should make an honest man of each other. It was a beautiful ceremony, both wore overalls and at the end of the wedding, they both put a gymnastics display on - maybe you could take a few tips Grin Of course there was I thinking I had raised a liberal, open minded child without realising it and she then married one of the little girl figures to a giraffe Hmm.

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 12/08/2011 21:45

Come to think of it a gymnastics display after our nuptials may well be fun Grin

Olivia sounds like such a character, think she takes it after her Mum!
My bed is calling me now, night all.

wigglesrock · 12/08/2011 21:49

Night night xx

OP posts:
WeAreBorg · 12/08/2011 22:30

Grin at Olivia's wedding ceremony, that's made my night.
need to ooh so exciting, I love looking at dresses, you are tres glam so will look brill.
jane continuing to make me think you are super cool. You like know the band! Who cares if you're too tired cool to actually go.
delia jealous of your baby jogger. I actually got stuck at a crossing today as my wheel stuck, a car rudely beeped at me. Like that is going to make a stressed lady move her pram faster! And it woke N up. Grrrr.
Hubbard take care. I know nothing will make you feel better but so many people own dogs and this was just a freak accident, really hope the removal of stitches goes well and tom makes a good recovery. I am sure it will end up being a proper man story for him to impress the ladies with.

Where is suzy these days, did she go on hols?

I'm going to have to read this kevin book aren't I. Has anyone read the passage (vampire/zombie nonsense)? I only ask because I the first bit was brilliant but have lost interest in the second part but I still want to know what happens, trying to persuade DH to read it for me.

Ah he's awake, byess

chocoroo · 12/08/2011 22:49

Briefly popping in to wave before my hols...been knee deep in packing for a couple of days. God knows where it would all go if I dint have DP's parents to cart most of it.

Hubbard Sending you some WM hugs, hope Tom is being spoiled to death. You should be proud of your brave little boy.

reastie Hugs also in your direction. I hope you GD is soon at peace.

wiggles I can't wait to get some Happyland stuff. Very excited and gutted I missed out on the Royal Wedding set.

Borg I also need to read this Kevin book. I started it a few years ago and thought it was pants couldn't get into it but you never know! I'm a big Jodie Picoult fan myself, although I'm reading a book about Anne of Cleves at the moment!

Jane and needto Am v jealous of your impending nuptials. DP does not seem inclined to make an honest woman of me!

Right, lots of waving to the rest of you but better get some beauty sleep. I'll try and check in while we're away if the Lake District has any phone signal that is! Not sure how I'll catch up with a weeks worth of gossip if not :)

tadjennyp · 12/08/2011 23:15

Have a lovely time choco!

wigglesrock · 13/08/2011 07:03

Morning all, last night a bit better, Anna seems more comfortable, but I like the big eejit I am sat up to watch Idris Elba and the Hip Hop show! Yum, yum, yum, scrum is all I'm saying.

Chocoroo have a lovely holiday, we are coming down with Happyland stuff - we have the wedding set but not the Royal one, a step too far in this house Grin Anna loves playing with the figures and I really think its helped her hand to eye/mouth co-ordination.

Four4Me not sure if I missed you saying, but I hope you got away this weekend.

Away for the day today, taking the girls to see our friends who we were supposed to be staying with this weekend, please keep your fingers crossed re the weather Grin Also its the first time I've driven there on my own and its in the back of beyond, so may take a few attemps to actually get there Hmm

OP posts:
debka · 13/08/2011 07:08

Morning wiggles glad Anna did better :)

Havea good day out today. We're going to a Welcome to the World party.

tadjennyp · 13/08/2011 07:29

And I'm going to bed now! Hope you have lovely days today, wiggles and deb and everyone else!

wigglesrock · 13/08/2011 07:36

Morning/night night, tad Grin

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 13/08/2011 09:52

Morning all,

chocco so jelous, i love the lake district. Hope you have a fab time!

borg trust me im not cool! but i love you for saying it Grin

wiggles debka hope you both enjoy your day.

Im having a cleaning day today - BORING!

ledkr · 13/08/2011 10:17

Hi all,i did post last night but f'ing lost it and did the same again just now-sooo annoying.

Hubbard hope you are bearing up,not your fault at all but can imagine how messed up you are feeling. How did it happen?

Hada great day at the farm, just what we needed and D slept well last night too. She spent a long time in the sand pit so am expecting some gritty nappies.

wiggles Olivia plays some very pc games. Dh got told off lastnight as he put Ellas "kens" in the barbie jeep in gay clothes with their arms in the air and made paper speech bubble of them saying "woo!" He has too much time on his hands Hmm
Did you wear baggy jeans and a cap to watch Idris?

Dh told me yesterday how he feels bad still about pils behaviour when Dills was born-i think he means angry but cant say it. He blames himself but he did tell them several times we wanted an empty house so imo he shouldnt have had to keep on about it.
I sometimes worry at the effect this still has on us both,i thik its cos we will never get that night back and also have been unable to confront them about it,what do you lot think, aibu?

Dilly is trying to crawl.Gets up on all fours esp when naked, not a pretty sight if behind her tho Grin She can move quite a long way too, yesterday she had mummified herself in a blanket she had been led on.
