wandering Anna is 25 weeks and she has a little porridge/weetabix in the morning with some fingers of toast, a bit of pureed veg in the late morning/early afternoon and then a little bit of a jar late afternoon. She would also have a few spoonfuls of yogurt/ some kind of fruity dessert, maybe a few breadsticks. I mainly spoonfeed her but if we or the girls are having something I think she might like I'll give her a taste. She obviously eats the toast/breadsticks herself but her hand to mouth co-ordination is a bit hit and miss, although it seems to improve if she's given a rich tea biscuit Hmm

NeedToSleep that must have been really upsetting for you [hug]

reastie sorry you didn't get to use all the swimming stuff Grin Annas top is from Next - its part of a pack of 3.

WeAreBorg How is Nate feeling? Still croupy ?

Jane can't believe your school are back next week. I forgot they go back earlier than ours even though we stop at the same time. I had forgotten about the joys of crawling Grin

Thank you for all your lovely comments re the photos. I promise not to post any more Blush, well not until they're in their school uniforms Grin

Anna is very gurney out of sorts today, gums definitely bothering her. Have just watched High School Musical 3 for the third time this week. Never thought I'd say this but even I am getting a bit fed up of the yummy Zac Grin

reastie · 11/08/2011 15:46

wiggles I looked at next baby stuff the other day but didn't spot that lovely top Grin . I'm currently coveting these dungarees for Alice Grin

wandering no idea on the food I'm afraid as we are still only giving alice teeny tiny bits but we arn't bothered yet as she's still not 6 months

Question re: everyones hormones and how you are doing with them. I haven't had a period yet but today I am feeling really off - sort of headachey, lack of energy, weak, dizzy, upset, too tired to do anything yet too bored of not doing anything etc. Looking back at the calendar I had very similar symptoms for a couple of days a month ago almost exactly. It sounds like hormones doesn't it? [hopeful] Gosh you have the baby and you think that's it and then you have months for your body to fully get back to normal again. I wonder how long it will be before af finally arrives back again Hmm

WeAreBorg · 11/08/2011 16:29

need to really sorry I missed your post, it looks like I ignored you. It sounds like you handled it really well, and for what its worth I have lost my rag with N a couple of times (and still feel terrible about it) and I am generally quite laid back, so I think it does happen to the best of us. As long as he comes and gets you if he feels like that again, and yes maybe there was other stuff going on.

lovely photos, all the babies are so grown up now!

Nate not giving me 2 minutes today - will be back later when he's not so high maintenance.........

WanderingSheep · 11/08/2011 16:43

Ah, I'm not going to worry yet then - Reastie I think there are just a few days between Charlotte and Alice so sounds like we're doing similar - makes me feel better

Wiggles how can you possibly be getting fed up of Mr Efron? Shock Grin DD isn't interested in HSM no matter how hard I try

We ordered DD1's school uniform the other night but it hasn't arrived yet! She has already been wearing the uniform for preschool but it's getting a bit small and tatty (she always comes home covered in paint and mud and the paint that they use at preschool does NOT come off!!!) so we've got it from George this time

I must say that I'm looking forward to September - I feel sorry for her as we have NOTHING to do! It's constantly pissing it down, we can't go anywhere and she has no one to play with Sad

Today we've made a car out of a cardboard box and she has painted pictures on the side, bless her but we've got four more weeks to go!

wigglesrock · 11/08/2011 16:55

reastie they're lovely, I went a bit JoJo Maman mad when I had Sofia Grin. Obviously my periods have been back for a while but I have noticed I have become a lot more PMTy which I never would have had before. And am also getting blinding headaches just before my period starts Angry

WeAreBorg I've finally got my high maintenance baby off for a quick doze Grin

Wandering We are now watching HSM2, Sofia likes to watch them in reverse Hmm Have to say no-one quite wears a white T-shirt like the delectable Mr Efron. I finally got the last of Sofia's bits and pieces for school today, had trouble with her school shoes but we're all done. Olivia will wear joggers, polo shirt and jumper for nursery so we've all that in.

I am kidding you not - Olivia has been alternating between singing Jingle Bells and Silent Night all afternoon, I will swing for her Grin I got the new Argos book today and I think its putting her in the C mood Shock

WeAreBorg · 11/08/2011 17:02

He's watching telly, should have a few mins now!

wandering if its any consolation N seems pretty disinterested in food, his hand-eye-month whatever is actually pretty good (considering he is rubbish at most things!) but looks disgusted when what he puts in his mouth tastes of something! They (I don't know who they are) say food is fun till you're one right?

reastie not sure really. I never really had PMT etc. and am just enjoying not having periods, but yes I guess if the symptoms are monthly your body may be gearing up for them to restart. Not looking forward to periods at all....

wiggles thank you, N is much better but has completely lost the ability to self settle, as in completely so is being rubbish at night. Sigh.

jane just think of all the exercise chasing after a crawler.

Right better drag myself off to make tea. Slightly concerned about the paint and varnish fumes, N is lying there laughing hysterically to himself Confused

ledkr · 11/08/2011 18:19

Hi all, another crap and boring day here.Ella is doing my head in,wants to constantly be doing something and never stops talking.I took her shopping then we were going to watch H potter dvd but she couldnt shut up.
I have just booked a hol in somerset for the week after next.Just your bog standard haven site but El likes the party dance its nice to get away from the house work.
Dh is meant finish todsy but has turned the situation to his advantage and is doing ot all over weekend as my mat pay is fast decreasing.
needto like borg i must admit im the angry one here, ive never seen dh angry,he keeps me in check.I tend to have little stroppy meltdowns, all very dramatic and lots of self pity Grin i must admit id probably go mental if he shouted at the girls but would be a great big hypocrit if i did iyswim? B will be fine-my kids all are Grin

Got some nice baby gros in sainsburys btw, half price at 3.50 for 3,they are 6-9 and have non slip feet which made me smile.
Miss D has just ruined bedtime and nodded off during charlie and lola, not sure waht to do now.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 11/08/2011 18:27

thank you so much for your support, I think it's partly a man thing like reastie said (actually think our OHs are very similar) and the fact that he was stressed out a bit before. Also when he was trying to settle B the woman upstairs kept making noises and waking him up. He certainly doesn't seem any different today and I think I got the message across to OH about what to do if it happens again. It's good to know I'm not the only one, thank you. It is true that he gets frustrated when he can't do things as easily/ quickly as me and I suppose I should cut him some slack as at least he is trying. I also think he feels a bit annoyed as he was the 'lets have a baby' one whilst I wasn't sure at first. Anyway, he's bathing and putting him to bed again tonight so fingers crossed it'll go well.

Am a bit Hmm at wiggles and wandering with your love of Zac Wink Maybe it's the hormones??? I had a very sexy dream about Brad Pitt last week and I can't stand him normally.

reastie boo for the AF symptoms, it does sound related though especially if you've had them a month apart now. I'm waiting for this coil to stop mine altogether, I actually told my GP that if they disappear I will kiss his feet Blush Love the dungarees, love most of jmb stuff altogether, now if I could just win the lottery Grin

wandering B is nearly 28 weeks now and still not that interested in food. I'm not going to force him and I give him porridge in the morning, organix rice cakes at lunchtime and fruit at about 4pm. The only thing he'll eat is the rice cakes (thanks ledkr), I guess they just do it at their own rate and I'm not worrying too much at the moment.

delia please tell us about the new buggy tomorrow, very exciting Grin

Off to finish reading 'we need to talk about kevin' for the third time, the film is released next month and I can't wait. It's been very odd comparing my feelings towards it before and after becoming a mum.

Deliaskis · 11/08/2011 19:08

Buggy is the new improved 4 wheel Baby Jogger City Mini. I splashed out in the end on the real thing rather than the cheap imitation as it's really the only thing we've actually bought ourselves, as everything else has been lent/given etc. so I thought I might as well go for it.

I hope our delivery slot isn't 6pm or something, tomorrow is going to be unbearable if it is lol.

wandering C has a bit of porridge after her morning milk, a bit of veg mush around 11.30 ish, and a bit of fruit mush and rice around 5.30pm. Have not had any success with finger food yet and not given any meat/cheese/dairy either so although she got established on rice/fruit/veg quite quickly, we've kind of not moved on from there much really. They all do things at their own pace.

NeedTo I always crack up anytime anyone mentions that book as that's my DH's name. I don't even know what the book is about, it might be horrific, hope not...!

reastie you made me giggle with your being excited for me re new buggy, I also often find myself living vicariously through other mners seemingly more exciting lives.

wiggles now you mention it I have had 4 periods already since DD and have had horrendous PMT every time. In fact I have a couple of days each month where I feel I'm on the brink with the PND, but then it always turns out to be that I'm due on. It's been bad enough that I have now twice said to DH that I'm feeling really low and teary and I'm thinking of starting the anti-ds, and then a couple of days later it turns out to be that and I'm fine again. I wonder if it will settle? I was never like this before.

Off to chippy for tea now, I have no discipline, I have perfectly good salmon in the fridge, but no, it has to be chips tonight!

Dx

ILovePonyo · 11/08/2011 20:41

Hey all,

needto I can only echo what others have said and think delia made a good point that B won't remember anything about it. Hope you're ok. Didn't know there was a film of we need to talk about kevin, I really liked the book. I read The Lovely Bones before I got pg, then watched the film recently (was it ledkr who said she was going to watch it too?) I had a really diferent reaction and just felt so sick imagining anything like that happening to dd.

delia excited for new buggy for you! erm ye the book is a bit horrific sorry :)

ledkr thanks for heads up re: sainsbo's babygros. Glad your dh is making the best out of the situation about his leave, when is he off then do you know yet?

Borg sorry about N not sttling well at night, hopefully it'll pass soon. dd is generally good but has a random night every now and then where she will not settle for an hour or so, weird.

Did anyone watch Cherry's pareting dilemmas on bbc3 recently? INteresting viewing, I like Cherry but she seems to be slated in mn quite a lot Grin Hmm

ILovePonyo · 11/08/2011 20:43

Oh! And what I came on to say was that we are going to the PIL tomo til sunday Hmm Wish me luck, its a 4 hour drive without baby so who knows how long it'll be avec baby.

Back on monday - most likely with some interesting tales Grin

wigglesrock · 11/08/2011 20:53

warning, rant and may will include some bad language Just got text from Mr W, he's been called to do 12 hours of overtime weekend at end of month, that means he'll have done five weekends on the trot, it's the weekend before girls start school and we were going to do something nice - seeing as we had to cancel this weekend away as he got some leave cancelled Sad Look away now if you are easily offended ..... fuckity, fuckity fuck.

ledkr Sainsburys do some good stuff at the end of their sales, I usually pick up some dresses for the girls, Grin at non slip feet. Anna's using her feet to push her walker. Looking at the feet of her babygro, time to clean my floors Blush

WeAreBorg Anna doesn't self settle much and still up at night Grin

ILovePonyo didn't watch the show but read MN thread on it Grin. I have the Lovely Bones taped, well on DVD hard drive thing, and haven't got around to watching it, read the book but think I'm subconsciously avoiding it Hmm, tonight is The Killing night and I find that difficult enough!

delia yummy, chippy dinner Envy

americanexpat · 11/08/2011 21:03

hubbard - so sorry you're in this situation. Hugs to both you and your son.

tadjennyp - I went to Target three times! Shock Grin

wiggles - I'll see if I can dig up a photo or two, most of them seem to be me in a bathing suit. Hmm

Our trip was lovely, L was such a star (though my cousin whose baby is 2 months younger tried to stir up trouble by saying his baby is cuter - the nerve!). It was over 30C and humid (+ excessive heat warnings) most days so we stayed in the air conditioning a lot. My mum borrowed a jumperoo and he loved it so I've just bought one today. Grin

We moved him into his room on Tuesday and he's been great, only waking twice during the night - that's an improvement for us! We're both still jetlagged though.

reastie · 11/08/2011 21:26

just a quick bit of advice to delia re: the delivery tomorrow - just make sure you don't go to the loo all day Wink

ponyo I saw the cherry prog. I quite like her too - not sure why mn dislike her so. I found those parents who lock their children in the garden at night when they misbehave a little scary Confused and was Shock at the teenager. good luck with pil

wiggles Angry on your behalf Sad

american glad the trip was good and Grin to the jumperoo

well, alice has gone back into her moses basket tonight Shock - she barely fits in it Confused and dh made a comment about how we'll have to cut out 2 holes for her legs Wink . I got fed up of her being in bed with me every evening until she finally settles at about 10/10:30 (I go to bed and slob about watching tv and mning v early) so she's lying next to me in the basket until I pluck up courage to dream feed her and get her in her proper cot. She can't stand being alone in the evenings in her cot - seems to need someone near. Not sure if I'm making a rod for my back or not but surely sleeping on her own in a moses basket next to my bed is better than in my bed Hmm . We are discussing finally putting her in her own room but arn't brave enough yet

ILovePonyo · 11/08/2011 22:05

Fuckity fuck on your behalf wiggles, poor you and dh. Sounds really unfair, hope he's getting some recognition for this?!

american glad your trip went well :) We found dd slept better in her own room too, surprising in a way but very welcome!

reastie if you're using the moses basket and its working then fair enough - rod for own back is a phrase I now choose to ignore (after someone said it to me and was basically v unhelpful) so if it works then do it for now Grin Good luck.

wiggles I havnt watched the killing but might keep an eye out for it if its repeated. The lovely bones is well worth a watch :)

Off to bed now ready for a nice big drive tomo Grin sleep well babies!

wigglesrock · 11/08/2011 22:10

ILovePonyo well he's not doing it for free Grin, this is my standard line to him when he complains about being called in, looks like it's come back to bite me on the bum. Have a lovely weekend or at least one you can look back on and laugh Grin

reastie take it from one who knows, any sleep is good sleep Grin

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 11/08/2011 22:15

Thanks wiggles :) I'm a bit clueless about police and what is expected of them but seems he's giving up a lot to me!

ledkr · 11/08/2011 23:52

need to Kevin is my favourite book, have read it 4 times.I am always wondering if its her who caused his probs or was she right and he always had them.I am looking forward to the film and they picked the right actress to play the Mum,she looks just how i imagined.

delias my pmt has been shocking sincei had D. My period came marching back exactly 4 week after she was born and continue to torment me bang on 28 days. I am taking prozac as they werent sure if pnd or pmt but i have cut myself down to every other day as that is the dose for pmt and it works a treat, mine was going on for half the month Shock

wiggs how annoying.Ive said it before but they hardly get paid enough to be pissed about the way they are grrrr.

Had "one of those days" D a bit moody pants,Ella was yapping non stop and i later found out she was feeling worried but didnt know why.
Dilly was hell to get to sleep it took an hour of in and out and shush pat,dh on lates so i couldnt do dinner for me and Ella till she went to sleep.Eventually settled about 9.30 so i came down, missing The killing and started to cook stir fry and then knocked a glass all over the floor then cracked my toe on a cupboard when clearing it up. I shook my fist up to heaven Grin

janedoe25 · 12/08/2011 07:32

Morning all! ledkr do you think Ella might be anxious because of the riots? Hope she is ok.

wiggles thats crap about your weekend! I hope you and the girls manage to make the most of it though.

ponyo I hope your weekend is pain free and you have fun.

Ohh delia i love a new buggy, i need to buy a vey small folding buggy to fit in my car. I have a zafira and when all the seats are in use there is no boot space. Any suggestions?

I had to endure dinner at fil's last night, God the man is such a twat! He knew i bought df a racing car track day for his birthday, and last night he told him he has bought a track day for him off of Groupon. Angry

Well im going out today to hopefully buy my little sisters flowergirl dress, hope everyone has a great day.Grin

Deliaskis · 12/08/2011 08:20

reastie lol re going to the loo and delivery, I remember that when we were in ante-natal. Re moses basket and sleep etc. ignore any mention of backrods. Things don't always work out the way we think/want them to, but that's just the way it is sometimes. There's a lot of talk about 'meeting baby's needs', and it tends to refer to food, change, activity, sleep etc. but if meeting A's needs at the moment is having you near, then that's the way that is. I have a friend with a very similar baby and she hasn't got another solution yet either.

Ledkr interesting what you say about prozac and pmt, I might bear that in mind as I can't go on like this every month.

PS I hope the glass didn't have wine in it Shock

jane there are a load of pramaholics over on the pushchairs section of mn which is where I got the recommendation for the BJCM. If you describe your requirements they will recommend something. FWIW, the BJCM folds from the seat with one hand, and ends up rather like a suit carrier/garment bag when folded, rather than like a concertina/umbrella type fold, so will suit some spaces and not others.

wiggles sorry for cancelled weekend, booooooo to that.

C is whingeing so i'm off...

Dx

wigglesrock · 12/08/2011 08:25

jane God he's a knob - fil obviously Grin, I'd be raging at that! Hope you get a good dress!! I have a Petite Star Zia pushchair, its very neat and very light.

ledkr I hate nights like that, hope Ella is ok, could it be school related?

Well Anna was up for most of the night, she woke up, every 1hr or so, think its teeth Sad, we ended up watching stuff I had taped while she dozed, watched An Education - it was very good. She went back to bed at 1am, up at 3am, back to bed at 5am and up at 7am, so a little bit punch drunk here Grin - although watching High School Musical so thats helping Hmm

OP posts:
ledkr · 12/08/2011 09:51

Oh wiggles you are always so matter of fact about lack of sleep when i am on the verge of a breakdown Blush Dilly was good, slept till 6.45 despite her ridiculous antics last night.
delias prozac is a well known and trusted treatment for pmt,i came on this month and was shocked as had not had the normal murderous tendancies mood swings. Very nice to feel normalish again and not hate my lovely dh for 2 weeks a month.

jane it did cross my mind about the riots,i think its more over tiredness tbh,and also we had 2 days in the house which is unusual for us.
We are off to the farm park for a good stomp around so she will prob feel better for it then dh is off from Monday so we are going for a big cycle in the forest, she dances 5 days a week normally so isnt used to all this free time.

Well picnic packed all we have to do now is wait for her royal highness to wake up Grin

WeAreBorg · 12/08/2011 10:41

wiggles we had a dreadful night too. He didn't settle till 1030 (usual bedtime 730), then was up every 90 minutes and up for the day at 445. DH was fuming and stormed out this morning. Sorry about your DH and his leave, mine is the same. He usually finishes work 2 hours late and is on a 7 man rota with only 4 of them. There is the european working time directive which means he is not meant to work more than 48 hours per week but he is getting pressured to sign an opt out form - if he doesn't sign it (which he won't) they say they can't pay him for any extra shifts. He basically gets asked to come in to cover and then doesn't get paid Angry Angry Angry. If he doesn't go he gets the guilt trip, could affect his future career and references etc. When N was sick and I was up all night with him (DH was on night shift) they let him come home a whopping 20minutes early, thanks!!
Sorry for gate-crashing your rant, reminded me of my own rant!!

N bloody crying again, must go.....

debka · 12/08/2011 14:43

borg that's grim about DH's job, is it even legal? What does he do? Re Nate's sleep, have you considered doing some sleep training? S was waking every 2 hours and being awake for hours on end at night and now she's sleeping through, although she has one feed sometimes. It's not fun at the time but it is honestly worth it. There are lots of different methods but it's important to pick one and stick with it.

August really sucks doesn't it, none of the toddler groups we normally go to are on so we're all chewing about here (as my grandad would say). Actually got some things planned this weekend, tomorrow it's my friend's Welcome to the World party for her 6mo, and on Monday we're going to France for the day!

led glad Dills did better for you. wiggles you stoic, i'd be cursing after that night!

debka · 12/08/2011 14:57

OMG I just got an email from MNHQ saying I've been SELECTED for something!!!!! It's the toy testing thing- we get a free toy and video recorder and have to record Imy playing with it!!! WOW!!!
