I see stac quite alot on other threads, we obv like the same sort of stuff!

I mostly lurk on the porn and sex relationship threads.

Im going to the spa today!! Im sooo looking forward to it, D had a crap night last night so I suppose its a good day to go I can just relax instead of trying to look after him whilst being half asleep all day.
Hopefully he'll be ok at my mums, my sister's kids are going to be there too which will be good for him.

I shall let you all know how it goes later on Grin

memphis83 · 12/08/2011 08:19

L clearly knows I need to be revitalised for the 2 hour drive, he slept from 7 til gone 7 this morning, the only reason he woke up is the door creaked when I went to check on him!
dh enjoy the spa!
kk enjoy your weekend without E she will have a fab time im sure! you have reminded me I want some converse for me, but I dont want to get a colour that makes me look like a childrens tv presenter!
its pissing it down here looks like I wont be travelling in sandles, have a fab weekend all, see you on Monday!

CakeandRoses · 12/08/2011 10:28

that's a great night dh Envy i've got chocolate and navy pairs of converse

have a lovely time at the spa dh you lucky thing!

tsc i sometimes see stac on domestic violence threads and you on all sorts of things (i often seem to post after you so i see you but not vice versa). i've seen chul a few times too but can't think where. think that's about it tho. weird we don't all bump into each other more, as i often see my thread-mates from style and beauty or the vegan one on other threads.

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 12/08/2011 12:53

i always see tsc on other threads but that's about it! seen memphis on a thread describing her knickers yesterday actually! Grin i have never went on to see what threads everyone is on until you said it and then i did so if i'm at a loss for something to do later with no E around that's what i'll be doing!
i have blue converse but i really want to get a pair of the real thin sole ones in navy or white. i'll buy them for E without even thinking but always have a battle in my head before buying anything for myself!
dh enjoy your spa day you lucky thing!
vik E doesn't hold her own bottle either. she can do it but just won't! she holds her cup during the day and it has no handles and she has held her bottle before but she really just likes us giving her milk to her! if i leave it down in front of her she just looks at it and screams and kicks it and she'll pick it up and throw it! very funny but i actually like giving her the bottle. makes her feel like a baby still!
meeting dp for lunch now. the house seems so quiet with no E babbling away!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2011 13:12

am having lunch at the spa, my friend is in the treatment room first then its my turn at 2. They've got a pool, gym and jacuzzi and think they have a sauna too somewhere! Its joined on to the side of a holiday inn.

will post later to let you know how i get on, i miss D already!

Aw enjoy your day tomorrow mlic! Looking forward to seein pics!

Chulita · 12/08/2011 19:57

I'm home! and all hooked up to internet and tv again - I don't watch much tv but man alive I missed it this week!
Thanks for missing me

Currently waiting for DH to get back so we can catch up, he's back til Sunday lunch time and then I'm here all week without him so I'll be on here all.the.time.

mlic I'm the same, I'm trying to finish knitting this top for L so when they're asleep I try and do that rather than this.

cake well done on sorting hair, viks congrats on the second boy and S has the shortest bedtime ever: downstairs- nappy change/pjs/grobag, upstairs-clean teeth/drink of water/kiss/put in bed, stac hope your sister's alright, woodlands poor little J with all his bumps, 'tis their age though S has 4 big blue bruises on his head at the mo from falling down our stone steps, DH I am also very Envy of the spa, memphis have a lovely holiday!

Sorry for those I've not acknowledged, I've read the thread but now need to go and water my wilting tomatoes.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/08/2011 20:26

I had a looovely day, the massage was by far the best bit, I could have laid there for hours!
We went in the sauna, then the pool then the jacuzzi. I couldnt go in the steam room I could hardly breathe in there.
D was really good for my mum aswell, didnt even care Id gone which was good, he looked surprised to see me when I got back!

viksam · 12/08/2011 21:09

Hello those of us left on here, its mega quiet isnt it, i havent been on for a few days and usually there are pages and pages of chat to catch up on!
chu how was the house, did u get much done, did ur folks have the childeren much for u? Whens DH back?
stac are u ok?
Just for the record D can hold his own bottle and does hold his drink in the day but chooses not to hold his milk or i dont give him the opportunity! Gave him a bottle of cows milk for the first time this morning and he has 4oz no problem. He has gone to bed having non of his evening bottle though which doesnt bode well for a good night. His behavour to DH is very weird at the moment, he cries when DH picks him up or tried to do anything with him. I dont so much think its DH rather that he wants me, its a bit shit for DH and i dont know wether to just step in or what?? Difficult.
Off to brum again tomorrow just for the one night, staying at my friends with D so that should be nice.
Hope u all have a nice weekend.
x

WhatSheSaid · 12/08/2011 21:20

G can hold her own bottle but I prefer to do it and pretend she's still a little baby

Glad you enjoyed the day dh, I'm envious too.

mlic I know what you mean, sometimes I spend way too much time on here reading threads. And the thread topics just do repeat again and again - I've been on here about 4 years and I've seen so many ones repeat. Obviously there are still interesting ones now and again.

I don't really post anywhere else apart from Living Overseas.

I did just read your AIBU tsc, she does sound a bit strange, I feel a bit sorry for her as she is prob just trying to make friends but no, I wouldn't really want to go there either.

It's a foggy day here, A is going to gym with dh, then I might take her out to the library and to a cafe when G is asleep later. She is a bit tired from the longer days at pre-school (16 hours a week from 7) and she has a little girl who she wants to be friends with but the girl keeps telling her "Stop following me around" etc. So I'm trying to explain to her there will be other kids to play with.

MalibuStac · 12/08/2011 21:39

Evening all, I am bushed. Went uniform shopping with sil at 10am didn't finish till 4pm (stopped for lunch).

Good to have you back chulita

Enjoy your wedding tomorrow mlic I got my make up done at the No7 counter before, I really liked it. Did the gp ever mention the letter?
Totally agree that reading too much about others can mess with your head.

cakes I saw you on a thread the other week, have you kept up with it? I was on the first thread, such a harrowing story.

dh I am so jealous of your spa day. Have I been looking at porn relationship threads?

viks I'm good thanks just trying to get ds back to school. How are you feeling?

wss has g got over her cold?

kk Iare you not going out this weekend?

memphis enjoy your holidays.

tsc I see you on some threads, usually AIBU Grin I don't usually post but like reading them.

How you woods?

Sorry if I've missed you, anyone heard from trudy or melissa or spireal?

Spirael · 12/08/2011 21:51

Spirael has been on holiday in France and normal service will return once she emerges from the piles of laundry currently dominating the kitchen floor... Wink

MalibuStac · 12/08/2011 21:56

chu meant to say sis is fine but still in pain, she's to keep getting it repacked till it heals.

WhatSheSaid · 12/08/2011 22:14

Hope you had a nice holiday Spirael

stac yes she's over her cold, well both of them still have runny noses but are quite cheerful and not really properly ill with it.

Woodlands · 12/08/2011 23:11

evening all, hope you had a good holiday spirael!

Had a call from nursery at 2.40 to go and collect James as he was feverish. Got there at 3.40 or so and they'd given him Calpol at 2.50 and he'd fallen asleep at 3.25 - so when he woke up at 4ish he was fine. He had his tea there and then we came home, and he seemed fine. Not sure what the matter was - teething, the same bug I've had over the last few days, last week's MMR or whatever. They said he was grumpy and seemed hot so they took his temperature and it was 38, so stripped him off and cooled him a bit, but then they took it again 10 mins later and it was 39, which was when they called me. I had thought their policy was to give Calpol and then call if the temperature didn't go down, but they called me and asked me to come before giving it to him. I was thinking of saying something but it sounds a bit heartless to say don't call me if my child was ill! It was a horrible anxious journey to nursery and then I burst into tears when I got there and saw him asleep, all sad at the idea of my baby being ill and unhappy at nursery. And now I have to catch up with a couple of hours of work over the weekend...

In happier news I bought two pairs of the same shoes at lunchtime today, one pair in black and one in brown: www.office.co.uk/womens/blowfish/jao_studded_ankle_boot/10/9356/24554/1?fs=9356. How licentious is that? They were from Office, £70 originally, down to £20 (for the brown ones) and £24 (black ones). The brown ones will look good with jeans and the black ones with work trousers.

WhatSheSaid · 13/08/2011 06:20

Grrrr I am annoyed.

We booked this holiday for January, dh said his friend and friend's gf really wanted to come too so we found a house big enough for all of us (us, dds, sil + bil and the friend + his gf), bit expensive but not so bad between 6 adults. Said was he sure they definitely wanted to come, yes, 100% sure etc.

So I booked the place this week, paid hefty deposit, friend comes round today and says "Oh, my mum might be visiting in February, have to save my holidays for her". SO WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT WHEN WE ASKED YOU IF YOU WERE 100% SURE???

So now we are left with having to pay a couple of hundred quid more for the holiday unless we find someone else who wants to come. Grrrrrr.

OK, rant over.

MelissaM · 13/08/2011 07:25

I'm still here folks. Just nothing much to say.
Friend just been told she has cancer in her blood, tumour in her leg and its reached her ovaries and kidneys. Am struggling to get me head round it - there is no cure :( Feel quite angry about it too. She had a 2mm melanoma just above her leg exactly a year ago - was removed and told.no other treatment necessary - I feel they shd have given.her a scan last year to check not anywhere else Angry :(

WhatSheSaid · 13/08/2011 07:57

That's awful Melissa, how devastating. So sad.

Chulita · 13/08/2011 08:00

melissa that's awful, your poor friend. Not sure how you do get your head around stuff like that. I hope you get lots of chances to help her/listen to her etc.

viks I felt so rough all week I didn't get much done at all. Two wasps' nests removed and the roofer booked, they took the roof off the kitchen extension yesterday it all needs to be redone but it's no fun not having anything other than a tarp over the top!
Fwiw L was never a daddy's girl, it took her a long time (think 2 years ish) to start liking cuddles from him. DH found it very hard but thankfully S is happy to have cuddles from both of us!

Chulita · 13/08/2011 08:01

wss I'd be pissed off about that. We've got a family holiday booked in a few weeks and my youngest brother's fiancee has found out she might not get the time off but she's said she'll pay anyway since we've booked it. That's the decent thing to do (although we'll all pay her back, it's nice that she offered)
