Hope this covers it! Not sure what cakes we'd all be making so kept that out Grin

I shall try bleach and see if that hurts. Normally I wouldn't bother but it's from next so not cheap and it's a really really pretty dress so I don't want to have to bin it!

I meant to say saoirse how amazing your mum must be! What a lovely thing to do for someone, you must be very proud of her!

Debs75 · 02/08/2011 15:56

Newmum you can get a stain devil for mould which might be kinder then bleach. Also try hanging it in the sun so that can bleach out the mould.

Got Lucy weighed today and she is only a dinky 19lb12oz and 71cm. Her car seat straps are still only through the middle slots so that will probably last her till christmas at least.

Saoirse that is a really nice and brave thing for your mum to do

JodeyBogeyPicker · 02/08/2011 16:09

saoirse Same here, your mom is an amazing person to be doing that for her friend.

No ideas on your mould problem newmum but anything is worth a try.

Dixiebell · 02/08/2011 17:34

So now the babies are nearly one, is anyone seriously thinking about having another..? Personally I feel I ought to show my face in the office for a few montgs at least before I announce another pregnancy...Wink

JodeyBogeyPicker · 02/08/2011 17:55

Ha ha. I'm thinking sometime next year we'll start trying again. I'm 33 now so don't want to leave it too long.

newmum001 · 02/08/2011 19:05

Absolutely not dixie! Not for a few years yet! grace waking in the night again has reminded me how much I like my sleep so defo not ready for another newborn! Will try all suggestions for mould. Like I said if it was a cheap thing I'd just throw it out but it's a really really lovely dress!

I would love to Dixie, but we 100% cannot afford it until Olly gets either the 15 hours funded or goes to school..... :(

cinnamongreyhound · 02/08/2011 20:28

I would love another but wouldn't want that small gap even of dh said yes! I wanted to start trying when ds1 was 18months as didn't want a big gap but I love the one I have now which was 3yrs 5months. My friend did exactly that SeaChelles, although she worked it so her maternity leave finished just as 15hrs kicked in and rumour has it is will either be increasing to 20 or starting at 2 1/2 by September 2012.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 02/08/2011 21:06

Really cinamon? Either would be fabulous! I really hope this rumour is true. I worked it out that if started trying next summer, by the time
we caught, Harlyn would be 2, by the time my mat leave finished Harltn would be approaching 3 and s half! So financially, as long as i don't get pregnant before next summer, then anytime after would be perfect. Though newmum I agree that the thought of having a new born again scares me! I would hope that #2 wouldn't have colic and reflux but you never know!

newmum001 · 02/08/2011 21:29

I am really hoping that my next (and I will definitely have another at some point) will be a lot more chilled out than grace! I should have known she'd be a hyper child as from the second I felt her move for the first time my bump was never still for a second! I remember the midwife always asking me if I was feeling 10 kicks a day and thinking I've felt 10 kicks since you started asking the question! From the second she was born she was never still, arms and legs moving constantly and she was never happy with any activity for more than 2 minutes and getting her to sleep was always a challenge! I'd never really considered that babies didn't just lie there and be content! If I'm honest the first 6 months were really really difficult! Having said that I am amazed at how much I love being a mummy even though my little monster has only just gone to bed and I am exhausted!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/08/2011 21:44

Good news for both of you my first was a colic, clingy nightmare (although I love him more than anything) and Luke was a total dream in comparison. Totally shocked me when he fell asleep by himself and stayed asleep for more than 20 mins!

comixminx · 02/08/2011 21:47

We'd like another too, and have vaguely started trying (well, in the sense of not trying to stop it - and actually getting round to having some sex as opposed to not!). But we also recognise that there's a chance it might not happen, so we'll try to take it as it comes...

JodeyBogeyPicker · 02/08/2011 22:40

Aaah comix that exciting. Obviously keep us posted.

cinamon I truly hope I have the same luck though I would defo go through all the colic again to have another Harlyn. He's my little star. newmum I too 'stupidly' thought babies just slept, nursed and needed changing! Never imagined how hard it was going to be. Everone tells u it's hard but I don't think anything can prepare you. I certainly won't be viewing it through rose tinted glasses the next time around.

newmum001 · 03/08/2011 07:39

Jodey I remember a guy at work saying how hard it was (his son was 6 months old when I finished for mat leave) and I remember thinking come on it can't be that bad and once even said I was scared I'd be bored on maternity leave as babies just sleep all the time. How wrong I was Grin

Gonna try and get grace into the drs today, I'm pretty sure she's just teething but she's so out of sorts and seems quite poorly that I just want to make sure there's nothing else wrong! She slept fine last night though even though she didn't go to bed at 9 she never made a peep till 7.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/08/2011 08:07

I was going to say maybe you should get her checked out newmum001 but I have said a lot about teething before didn't want you to think I was being dismissive. I would have thought calpol would have made a big difference as it should be anti inflammatory and pain reliever so I it's not making a difference I'd want to get it checked out I think.

Exciting news comixminx we await an update Wink

Luke was up at 5.45 so it's going to be a long day but I have decided today will be better than yesterday. I was really snappy with the kids yesterday and I really hate it especially when there is no reason I can put my finger on :(. May get out and about to find someone to chat to could be a touch of cabin fever!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 03/08/2011 08:48

cinamon I know what u mean! I had awful cabin fever yesterday. I was awaiting a visit from a decorater to give us a quote. He was supposed to be coming sometime in the afternoon. So of course I waited all day and he never showed up. I was so snappy at the dogs (i've currently got mine plus my mom and dads 2, rufus's mother and brother). It was hard work trying to sort them out and look after Harlyn! Steve was in London till 10:30pm. So today I'm defo going out and about. Oh and then I found out from Steve that the decorater had called him to say he would come tomorrow instead but steve was far too busy with meetings to let me know! Men! So he can wait for him today!!!

newmum001 · 03/08/2011 08:52

We've been giving calpol twice a day for the last week (which I'm not really happy about as seems too much) and while it does make her less whingy she is still clammy and irritable, slightly off her food but still eating enough for me not to worry but she's doing at least 3 very runny poos a day and had quite dry nappies on monday! You hear all sorts about teething and I do think that's what it is but I thinks it's quite easy to put symptoms down to that and not check for anything else. We're in the drs at 11 so I'll let you all know later.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/08/2011 10:04

Don't get me started about men! My job is apparently all about sitting on my arse but when he was left with 2 children for 30 mins last night he wasn't able to keep them both happy, had to focus on one and then the other was not happy. Should leave him alone with 6 kids for an hour and see how easy that is. Plus of course everything arous the house is done and any phone calls that he's too busy to make I somehow have to make time for Angry

saoirse86 · 03/08/2011 10:33

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my mum. I am very proud of her, but wasn't at all surprised as she will always do anything for anyone. She decided to go forward for testing as soon as she knew he needed a transplant (as did my dad but wasn't a match) even though very few of his relatives did. Apparently as muslims they believe you won't get into heaven if you're not fully intact. I'm not normally one to have anything negative to say about others' beliefs but I was shocked they didn't go forward, especially considering his twin brother died waiting for a transplant a few years ago. Sad

Anyway, less gloom now...

DP and I aren't exactly trying for a baby but like comix we're not using contraception and haven't done at all since Orlaith was born. I know it's not necessarily going to happen easily but I am starting to get concerned. I was told in November 2009 that I'd probably never conceive naturally so we just stopped using protection thinking nothing of it and then fell pregnant 6 weeks later. I suppose I'm starting to wonder if the doctors were right and I was just incredibly lucky getting pregnant with Orlaith. Confused

Oh dear that wasn't much less gloomy...

It was 30 degrees according to my car at one point yesterday and today's supposed to be hotter here!!! Grin

saoirse86 · 03/08/2011 10:37

I forgot to say I hope Grace is ok when you take her to the doctors newmum.

And I agree on the "men!" front, not any particular reason at the moment, just generally agree! Wink

SeaChelles · 03/08/2011 11:27

Guys - just a quick one - had to come home from work to collect Olly - again. Childminder seems to think he has Croup. One of her other mindees is off with it at mo.

He seems ok - not crying, happy enough, just coughing and looks tired. Anyone with older kids who have had it? Just wondering if there is anything I should be doign until his docs appt at 4?

Cheers. Will catch up later.xx

newmum001 · 03/08/2011 13:04

Grace has a viral infection! The dr didn't give her any medication just said not to be scared to give the proper dose of calpol up to 4 times a day until she's feeling better.

Chelle no advice on croup but hope he feels better soon!
