Which smart trike did you get cinnamon? I think I want the recliner one but don't know if there's much point as grace doesn't tend to fall asleep in her pram anymore (far too busy being nosey) so I can't see her falling asleep in that!

She's getting at least 3 new teeth, one is very nearly through and she's really really suffering with them. Just very clingy and whingy and crying all the time. Have been giving regular calpol and ambesol but nothing seems to help.

Had a bit of a wobble this morning, I realised that I can now say that grace is 1 next month!!! I'm not ready for my baby to be 1! She just did a massive trump and was sooo shocked she instected her bum to see what had happened Grin very funny indeed!

Had set my mind on a zoo and we we're going for a cow but then went on Amazon (my mum who was buying it is a bit of an Amazon addict!) and the prices had all changed so we went for a sport in the end as it was much cheaper. I felt the reclining ones were way too much extra just to recline, I will just take him out in it when he is unlikely to sleep which is pretty predictable these days.

I have a milk question... Luke is still having 3 milk feeds a day, one as soon as he wakes up, around 4-5pm and at bedtime. By 10 months ds1 had dropped the afternoon one but Luke doesn't look like he will. I don't really know if this is a problem or not, I have tried giving him snack with all the other children after school but he still wants milk. Because he was being a pain at dinner time I thought maybe he was still too full from his milk so dh suggested giving him a small amount of cows milk in a bottle, which he took happily and ate his dinner. I don't really want to introduce a regular bottle but when I have given it to him in a beaker he still wants milk from me so thinking perhaps it's just the suckling he wants? On those days he's ended up having milk from the beaker and then from me and still ate his dinner so now starting to think it was maybe just a phase of not wanting dinner as he has been no problem for 10 days or so now. I'm happy to feed him but not if it stops him eating solids, just wondered what others are doing with milk now they are getting close to 1.

Got to go ds1 just said Luke has a smelly bum and as he cruised over he really does!!!

Grace is still on 3 bottles a day, 6oz at 7am then 6oz any time between 1.30-3pm then 8oz at 7pm and she finishes all 3 in 2 minutes flat! When she starts being picky with one then I'll drop the afternoon one but imo if she finishes them and her meals then it's ok. Also she's still on stage one food and can't get the hang of snacks so I'm not confident she'd be eating enough if she didn't have the 3 bottles! If she was being picky with food because of milk though I think I'd cut the afternoon one.

Grace is refusing to sleep this morning. She nodded off for 10 minutes then woke up screaming and wouldn't go back. She's got so many teeth coming through though and a massive one is just about poking through her gum now so given calpol and will see what happens later. She's just seen me eating crisps (all I've had time to eat so far today) and held her hand out for one then sat and fed it to the washing machine!

Cinnamon do you want to give up breastfeeding? Lucy still has all her milk off me and hardly has water, she doesn't like bottles. I am planning to give up when she is 1 but can see me feeding easily until she is 2. TBH I don't think she has cut down at all which is fine by me as I know it is best for her now.

SeaChelles · 01/08/2011 11:06

Olly still on 3 bottles too. 6oz at 7am and midday, then 9oz at bedtime. Plus 3 meals a day and snacks....

He is very poorly today. Bad bum and belly and dead lathargic, just slept or lie on me all morning. Poor boy.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/08/2011 11:15

I'm not in a particular rush Deb75, I fed ds1 until 15 months and that was really his choice but he dropped to 3 feeds at 9 months, just bedtime by 1 and then other one because it was only 2 minutes and we went out for an evening my mum gave him cows milk in a beaker and he never asked for bm again. I was told to drop the third one by hv as ds1 was huge and they thought he was getting too many calories but Luke is more attached to milk than ds1 ever was. I just wasn't sure what was normal/most babies were having, and if 3 seems alright for others and he carries on eating his dinner ok then I'll just leave it as it is for now. I don't have a fixed time in mind to stop, don't really want to be feeding him until he's 2 but otherwise not a strong preference.

Dixiebell · 01/08/2011 13:03

Arlo is having 3 BFs a day still, morning, night and one mid-morning.. He's not quite 10 mths yet. He has 3 meals and 2 snacks a day too. I want to drop middle feed by time he goes to the CM, but I have no idea after that how long he should keep having milk. He doesn't really ask for it during the day, but he is desperate for it first and last thing. I do intend to try and switch to cows milk in a beaker ( as he's always refused bottles), once he's one, but I can't quite imagine it especially at night as the sucking is what gets him to sleep!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 01/08/2011 13:22

Harlyn has 3 milk feeds. 6oz in the morning from a beaker, 4oz mid afternoon from a beaker and then 7oz before bed from a bottle. Since having the beakers, he sips it over the space of an hour. If I gave it him in a bottle, he would guzzle it down in minutes so defo think he is more attached to sucking his bottle rather than wanting his milk to drink. He drinks water throughout the day and eats anything I give him. Though he much prefers to feed himself nowadays.

I'm also getting a smart trike for his birthday. They look ace.

Harlyn is 10 months today! Can't believe how quickly the time has gone.

newmum001 · 01/08/2011 14:23

Aww my poor baby girl is so upset today. Her teeth are killing her and she's wincing and crying in her sleep and keeps making really upset faces. She's roasting aswell but she hasn't got a high temperature she's just really clammy and hot! I feel totally useless cause she's had calpol and ambesol so there's not much more I can do. She's getting the ones after her fangs on both sides at the bottom and both of the very back teeth at the bottom as well!

Newmum Olly is 1 this month! Shock

Olly still has 3 bottles, same times as everyone else. I did see if he was ready to cut his afternoon one out but he's not. Ds1 had cut it out long before now!

We're going to Scarborough for a few days tomorrow. Its my annual trip with my mum. I'm really excited & just hope the weather holds out!

I've been to work today. I've officially finished my mat leave. I'm on holiday till the 1st of sept but am starting to wonder how I'm going to fit everything in!

newmum001 · 01/08/2011 19:53

Can I ask a question? Don't think there's anyone in my situation but I'm too scared to start a new thread as benefits questions don't always go down very well! I'm now classed as unemployed and have been since may, DP earned really shit money last year as he was made redundant and on job seekers allowance for a few months so we get tax credits! I didn't want to have to find a job till next year but I phoned to ask about income support but was told I wasn't entitled to it and all I was entitled to was jsa. If that's all I can get then I'll do that as we could do with the money but I was hoping to not have to find a job till next year. Does anyone know how I go about finding out if I'm entitled to anything else? Sorry it's a bit long winded and rambly!

cinnamongreyhound · 01/08/2011 20:27

I have no idea newmum001, have you thought of CAB? We used them for my nan when she was getting more disabled and needed carers coming to her flat.

I have decided on a teddy bear cake for Luke's birthday, which is still 6 weeks away! We went for 2 walks today with Luke in his smart trike and he loves it plus ds1 loved pushing him! He has also walked more today too :( And I made some blueberry jam Grin

Debs75 · 01/08/2011 20:33

Newmum if you go for JSA then your only obligation will be to look for a job, they ask for about 3-4 ways of looking per week. It is very very unlikely that you will have to do any retraining with them as you have to be out of work for about 18 months to qualify for training. The only downsides are you have to sign on every fortnight and if you refuse a job which is ideal you lose moeny for upto 6 weeks.

Does your dp work at all? If not then he should of claimed a joint claim which would give you child tax credits and housing benefit and council tax benefit

JodeyBogeyPicker · 01/08/2011 21:10

Ggggrrrrrr! I've just spent all evening cleaning the house ready for my friend to come and stay for a few days with her LO. Just picked up my phone to find a voicemail from her saying she can't come now (even though a few hrs ago she was excited to come) as she forgot that she had booked her into the CM this week!!! How can u forget something like that! Just feel a bit pissed off! Oh well, the house us clean!

Right! I'm gona make a start on decorating Harlyns room tomorrow!! Going nautical I think!

cinnamongreyhound · 01/08/2011 21:14

I'd be annoyed too JodeyBogeyPicker, even if she's booked her in to the cm doesn't have to send her anyway as long as she pays up. That's rubbish for you :(

saoirse86 · 01/08/2011 22:13

Well Orlaith's definitely having a lot more milk and a lot less food than any of the other LO's. Confused I knew she was a bit behind but didn't realise how much. I better get onto this!

newmum I hope Grace is feeling better soon. I was absolutely convinced Orlaith would have a new tooth in the last couple of weeks but nothing. She's going to be 4 before she has them all at this rate! Hmm

My mum's supposed to be donating a kidney to her friend, but has agreed only if my sister and I both have 2 healthy kidneys so would be unlikely to ever need hers. So today we had to go and have a few tests and it turns out I'm an inch and a half taller than I thought I was and my BP was only 90/63!! I was amazed at the blood pressure as we'd parked miles away (to avoid paying a fortune for parking), had to walk up a massive hill with the sling on and I was sweating like a trooper when we got there! Confused Clearly mat leave agrees with me! Wink

newmum001 · 02/08/2011 08:43

Bit of a random one, I put a really wet tea towel in the washing machine then put one of graces dresses in but didn't put a wash on for a few days and by the time I put the wash on grace's dress had little mould spots (I feel such a scruff writing this) Grin I've washed it 3 times now and it's still got little black spots on. Any idea how I can get them out?

Ime mould stains I'm afraid newmum001 an nothing other than bleach gets it out :(

That's an amazing thing for your mum to do saoirse86, also good for you to know you have 2 healthy kidneys! My blood pressure is pretty low (but not quite that low) which is amazing considering I am massively overweight and always has been through pregnancy too. When I was lighter I used to get stars in front of my eyes if I stood up too quick and passed out on occasions but it doesn't happen so much now.

What a bizarre day here, was cold and rainy this morning and is now sunny and 25+C!!

newmum001 · 02/08/2011 13:57

I shall try bleach and see if that hurts. Normally I wouldn't bother but it's from next so not cheap and it's a really really pretty dress so I don't want to have to bin it!

I meant to say saoirse how amazing your mum must be! What a lovely thing to do for someone, you must be very proud of her!
