I have done what you suggested before beaditAli, just started a new one with a link to this. Are you working for those 3 days or doing something more fun? Had a lovely weekend thanks, very relaxed and you?

Ds1 is being a little sod this morning! We went for a nice walk in the forest and to the park and now he's just laying around whinging about everything, grrrrr!

Debs75 · 25/07/2011 11:42

So have we got a new thread then?

The easiest way is to put Sept 10- then title of new thread.
Or everyone put it on your watch list so it doesn't drop opff 'threads i'm on'

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2011 12:19

No I have just redirected anyone looking for sept2010 here link Debs75. Sorry to confuse everything, just didn't want anyone to be lost.

Debs75 · 25/07/2011 14:16

Cheers Cinnamon don't worry is quite easy to confuse me during the holidays

beaditAli · 25/07/2011 19:51

cinnamon DH and I are in Hereford at a wedding. I'm being bridesmaid for the first time in my life at 32! Grin

Anyone else had a tremendously dozy baby today??? Can't figure why he's slept so much but could just be catching up. It is really humid here today too. Also, think he got a sting on his butt today Sad He squealed a bit when we were playing in the neighbour's garden and then I noticed he had a tiny thorn like thing sticking out from his peachy cheek. He seems ok... it swelled a bit but should I have done anything with it Confused

bananacurry · 25/07/2011 20:36

nah! I wouldn't have! do you think it was a bee sting? Poor jack!

Dh has just finished cleaning the travel system ready to sell it. Got someone comint to look at it tomorrow! I'm feling a little bit sad. I love that buggy & have had it since Toby was born!

Debs I'm going to buy a clock for Tobys bedroom. Apparently you can get ones for toddlers so they don't come out their room till its the right time. A rabbit pops up or something. A lot of my friends have had success with them.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2011 20:56

I cried when I put ds1's cot down bananacurry, so I know how you feel. This time will be harder as probably no more :(. A little boy I babysat for once had one of those clocks, couldn't get up until the sun came up, very cute!

I use anthisan for bites and stings for my children but for minded kids aren't allowed so probably would have just applied cold compress beaditAli. Much better to be a bridesmaid at 32 when you enjoy it than at 8 when you just get fed up!

saoirse86 · 25/07/2011 21:26

Sorry ladies, there is no way I'm going to catch up tonight, my god you lot can talk, but I want a moan and some advice please!

So we've been to Turkey and came back this afternoon. Orlaith was pretty normal for the first 2-3 days but has got gradually worse over the week. To the point where she's had about 8oz of milk, 1oz of water and no food whatsoever in each of the last couple of days. She's been waking in the night crying uncontrollably about every half hour and only gone back to sleep out of exhaustion I think. She's been hot (even with the air con on all night). And she has some weird pussy spots on her chin and under one eye, and is really red inside her mouth. It was the same on the way home, woke at 5am Turkey time this morning crying for an hour, more crying on the way to the airport, in the check in queue, for the first 2 1/2 hours on the plane... you get the picture! We got back at 12.30 this afternoon and she's spent the day since crying a lot but being normal inbetween. I put her down at 8.30 and it was weirdly easy but she's already woken up crying once since. Again she's really hot but I don't have a thermometer so not sure of temperature.

I've got a doctor's app on wednesday morning for her but don't know whether to take her to the walk in clinic tomorrow instead? Confused Has anyone got any ideas of what it could be or what I can do? I'm completely exhausted from it and can't think straight enough to know what to do except feed her if she'll take it and keep her coolish. HELP!!!

saoirse86 · 25/07/2011 21:34

She just woke again......... arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh..... it's going to be a long night........ Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2011 22:05

The red mouth and spots could be thrush otherwise no suggestions but definitely take her tomorrow or call out of hours dr tonight if she still won't settler, better safe than sorry. Fingers crossed she's better soon.

sassy34264 · 25/07/2011 22:16

so sorry about orlaith saoirse poor thing. i dont mean this to panic you at all, but personally i wouldnt wait till wed. and only you know if its bad or just a bit off colour, but it is coming across as quite horrible, and i think i'd just have a trip to a and e. i cant see you being there long as its probably the quietest night-monday. as to the spots and not eating, i dont really know. i do know that ive been to turkey three times and i always have a funny tummy. the last time was worse than ever. i have ibs though. you are coeliac though arent you? does it run in families? sorry if i sound really dumb about it, dont know much and just trying to think of an explanation. hope she is better soon. xxx

JodeyBogeyPicker · 26/07/2011 07:12

Oh no saoirse, sounds awful. I too wouldn't wait. Just better to get it checked asap for your own piece of mind as well as for Orlaith. Poor thing. Hope u both managed to get some rest last night and that she feels better soon xx

newmum001 · 26/07/2011 07:23

Saoirse that sounds absolutely awful, tbh I'd take her to the walk in centre today or even take her to a&e it's better to be safe than sorry! I hope everythings ok and that you managed to get some sleep last night!

bananacurry · 26/07/2011 08:48

Take her today. If you're worried & want to. You're her mum & you know when she's not right. It could just be because you've been away, Olly was fine while we were away then the last day & the 1st few days we were back was a bit off it. I put it down to being fed up of the heat, out of his own environment & his sleep all over the place. Not sure about the spots! Hope you get sorted.

saoirse86 · 26/07/2011 09:35

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure what to do last night, although I got very close to taking her to A&E. She spent most of the night crying and woke about every 20-30 minutes! [exhausted mummy emoticon] DP ended up sleeping on the sofa as he hasn't slept much the last few nights and has loads to do at work today. She seems a bit better this morning but still crying and crawling off if I show her food or drink, and she's got more spots. I'm definitely going to take her to the walk in clinic today, IME it's quicker than A&E, but I hope they can actually do something for her. I'm not quick to medicate but I genuinely think she needs something. It's awful when you get that worried that you go and they just say "she'll be fine, just keep an eye on her". Confused

saoirse86 · 26/07/2011 09:38

Oh I forgot sassy apparently having a predisposition to coeliac's disease is hereditary, but because I got it later in life, then if she's going to get it she'll probably get it later too. She has seemed fine with gluten so far, but while we were away she didn't actually have any gluten I don't think. Most people get diarrhoea with it but she's been quite constipated, but I've put that down to not srinking much. I hope she doesn't get it, it's horrible!

saoirse86 · 26/07/2011 09:39

srinking?! Confused I meant drinking!

saoirse86 · 26/07/2011 09:47

Oh dear, I finished that and turned around to find Orlaith eating a tub of sudacrem!!!! Hmm

bananacurry · 26/07/2011 16:14

Saoirse How did you get on???

saoirse86 · 26/07/2011 17:52

They said she's got an infection and the spots are impetigo, so she's been given some antibiotics. The only problem is the doctor said she couldn't have cream as there are now 2 spots under her eye, so she's got it in liquid form and keeps spitting it out! She's been a little bit better today and slept for ages this afternoon. She was mostly asleep from 3-5 which isn't like her at all, it would be nice if that continued! Wink

mapletrees · 26/07/2011 18:45

Hey saoirse. Sounds like you've had a horrible few days.. good that you've got some treatment for her. To stop Louis from dribbling out his antibiotics I used the syringe that we got with the baby neurofen, and sat him on me leaning quite far back. Had to wait for him to shout with anger for his mouth to be open enough though Sad. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon (they usually do) and she starts feeling better...

mapletrees · 26/07/2011 18:53

Oh, and if she's v wriggly, swaddingly helps...

mapletrees · 26/07/2011 18:53

swaddling

newmum001 · 26/07/2011 19:33

There's times I've had to literally pin grace down to take medicine but cause she's been on ranitidine for reflux for ages she takes medicine like a pro now! Hope she's feeling better soon, has she managed any food/milk today?

Grace has got a big lump and bruise on her forehead, she was walking using her toddle truck thing and I was behind her incase she fell backwards but didn't bank on her falling forwards into the chimney breast! It was horrible she near enough somersaulted over the front of the walker thing. She was absolutely fine after a minute or 2 but the lump is quite big and it's bruised Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 26/07/2011 19:58

Glad to hear you've got some answers and treatment Saoirse86, did you have a nice holiday other than orlaith getting ill?

Don't worry newmum001 Luke has one on each side of his forehead, one where dh left him on the sofa and he fell off head first and the other where he lost his balance, fell forward and headbutted the banister.

Luke was up at 4.40 today and everytime I settled him he woke up after 5 mins and was screaming again. At 6.20 he woke up again and was happy so I took him to my bed, fed him and we both slept until 7.30. I'm feeling awful now though had sore throat since lunchtime and have now developed head, neck and shoulder ache but not sure if it's just tiredness or illness. Think an early night is in order!!
