Cinnamon I think this has possibly been the longest week of my life! Grace I having the worst tantrums over anything and everything and I'm exhausted! She's just crying and shouting about everything!

Has anyone got sassy's number, when is the baby due?

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2011 21:41

That's rubbish, Luke is a bit like that. Screams if any other children take something he wants, screams if I take something, flings himself backwards if he's not getting his own way. But I have had 1 minded child off so have had several hours just me and Luke and a few to myself which is lovely. Plus I could go to ds1's school without too much juggling. I have sassy34264's number but not sure of it's still the same but can try, don't think she was due until 20somethingth though.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2011 21:49

All ok, she's just gone over her Internet allowance this month!! Will be back Sunday, thanks everyone for thinking of her!

patito · 07/10/2011 14:45

Hi guys

Maia´s been very grizzly recently too, but stuck my finger in her mouth yesterday and felt 5 new peggers sticking through. She seems to be suffering bad from them Sad.

She´s a bit of a madam as well, she screams and wails when DS gets in her way or takes something from her, the other day she wanted a toy he was playing with and bit his arm cause he wouldn´t give it her Shock. Poor DS I dont know what he´ll thinks hit him in a few months time when she´s fully walking/talking and ruling the roost round our house. Grin

Has everyone got there periods back? Mine are nowhere in sight, it took quite a long time after DS, but this feels a bit much. Have thought about going to DRs maybe but dont know normal return time (IYKWIM??). I still feed her but its massively reduced since we started with solids at 6 mths, any thoughts?

We´re off to see an eco adobe (sp?) house tomorrow, another English-Spanish couple are in process of building their own eco house and live not far from us. we were introduced by friend of a friend and they´ve invited us to go and check it out, Im intrigued. They have a web about it if your nosey interested.

have a nice weekend all.
xx

beaditAli · 07/10/2011 14:54

Silly horrible enamel! Hope Maia feels ok soon
Can't help with the period talk though I wouldn't be wishing along them if I were you Grin Having said that, after my CS I don't get pains at all now so thumbs high, high up here!
Jack had his jabs yesterday and some impressive lip quivering sobbing! Grin
He was already in a mood after trapping his finger the day before then face planting from standing on the cheap and nasty brillo pad esq carpet in the doctors surgery Blush
Am thinking Jack would probably like a stay in the Lumpy household while his own mum has a few days practice at hazard control! Wink
Am in need of another buggy.
Any comments on the Baby Jogger Micro verus Mini??

Happy Friday lovelies xxx

Not much help here either patito, mine returned after 16 weeks with both, who I was fully bf although ds1 wasn't feeding at night by then. If you're worried might be worth checking it out. Hope Maia's feeling better soon.

Luke is constantly covered in bruises beaditAli, mostly on his forehead and everyone feels the need to comment! I am not a buggy collector so have no idea I'm afraid. I have had 2 second hand ones and borrowed one for a bit since I had ds1 and have a double one which I love but have no idea what make it is as that was second hand too.

Yay it's Friday! Hope you all have a lovely weekend and this lovely (if a bit chilly) sunshine continues Grin

beaditAli · 07/10/2011 17:21

I think my problem is that the ones we have have really been my choice and all second hand so have a few things that niggle me. The 3 wheeler (£17 ebay buy of the year) is huge but has been a life saver for our long off road walking so it's a keeper especially for winter, the Urbo has been brilliant but Jack's head reaches the top when the hood is up and I think I could get almost what I paid for it so tempted to sell it. DM and DF have a Chicco stroller at theirs but it can stay there so I don't have to lug it back and forth......... hence the need for a new pushchair Grin Grin

OP posts:
beaditAli · 07/10/2011 17:23

I meant never really been my choice! (except the Urbo but who'd have thought they'd grow so big so quick!)

OP posts:
Dixiebell · 07/10/2011 18:26

My periods only came back a few months ago but really irregular. I'm still bf and on the pill. I wouldn't worry while still BFing, that's bound to mess up the hormones.

Arlo's 4th session at cm this morning. He ate all his food and slept fine, but she said he 'sat and looked at the toys', and 'let me come near him by the end'!!! So I don't think he feels quite at home yet!

MammyG · 07/10/2011 22:26

Hey all
Difficult week but thank crunchie its friday! lovely mass and tree planting ceremony today for our colleague. Hard to digest but harder still to believe that she was in that much turmoil and pain.
DH left for france today - a whole week on my own! Funnily enough more worried about getting thru the weekend than the work week. Mornings will be tough though as lots of dropping off etc and I have to travel to other schools 3 mornings a week that are further away. DH gone to last leg of cycle with my brother. He is 3 stages off finishing his tour de France route to raise money for cancer. He has done an amazing job - the impossible really! Im so proud of him.

Phoebe update (I will get a photo on FB this weekend!!)
She has only two pearly whites - top two and a lovely big toothy gap between them! Enough curly brown hair for two pigtails that are gorgeous on her and a necessity because she eats her hairclips!! She crawls everywhere and this week mastered the steps in the kitchen so she has the run of the whole house now! She gets stuck into everything and loves racket - the more noise and bluster the better. She eats everything but has no problem making it clear when she is not having any of it. she has the worlds cutest frown - a real 'are you nuts' look and loves doing it to men especially. When she has them sufficiently weirded out she bursts out laughing then if they laugh back she frowns again til they stop and roars laughing again! its like a big joke!! She has all of a sudden become flirty! Adores her brothers who get kisses without prompting! loves the Woo woof! And tells everyone to 'ah shtop!' She is really sociable and loves girly teas with mom where she natters as much as the women! She is so pleasant and smiley but dare you take anything from her! And she is her daddies little lady. She has a special smile just for him!

Debs75 · 08/10/2011 08:11

Had a nightmare night with Lucy last night. She has caught a bug/cold/infection off dd2 and yesterday she was hot and grumpy. Last night she just wouldn't sleep unless she was propped up on me. We had hours of settling her then layiong her down and her screaming to get up. I finally got her sttled at 2.30am after more ibruprofen and a drink. We then went to bed and she laid over my chest until she was hard asleep.
DD2 decided she had to be up at 7.30am so I'm sat with matchsticks propping my eyes open.
And the weather is rubbish, we might have to put the heating on soon

MammyG · 08/10/2011 21:11

Aww debs I hear ya. I had a rotten week last week with Phoebes cold. She still has it but the worst is over. I got her the breathe easy rub for her chest and it really helped her to breathe properly at night. I put a pillow under the top half of her mattress to elevate her and gave her warm milk and honey before bed. She was happy enough then for me to sit next to her until she nodded off. I also gave her calpol steadily over two days to stop the temperature kicking in and left her longer for her nap. I hope things are better tonight and you get some sleep too x

sassy34264 · 09/10/2011 09:35

hi everyone. sorry for being awol. will probably always happen the first week of every month until my new allowance rolls over on the 9th. i told dp we didnt need to get internet if i had it on my phone, but i could havw the full sky package with how much im costing him! Blush will endeavour to try harder to spread it out more.

anyway. no signs of baby, although i am getting loads of bh. ive had a few with tighening pains but it hasnt led to anything. im enormous and feeling the strain though.
had my birthday on monday and dp got me a card that says i love you all over it. he also put ' i love you more than ever' on the inside, so i think we are ok now. im not a very naive/gullible person though,. so i know it could all go bad again. and with another newborn soon, i dont think it will take long! we will see.

update on babies:

isobel
she is walking, has 6 teeth and 2 new ones coming through. her hair is growing but is longer in the back, giving her a mullet look! she is still petite and in 6/9 month clothes. she is slightly bullied by her brother. and used to cry when he took things off her, now she justs looks around for something else to play with. this is making me have a massive soft spot for her added to the fact that she looks so vunlernable- being so tiny. i have to remind myself that she is the tough, sturdy one. she has had a runny nose for over a week, and will come to you when you say let me wipe your nose (chloe use to scream blue murder) she can also touch her nose, stick out her tongue, clap hands, give you a kiss, sit down and touch my belly and my eyes when you ask her to. she was always the more serious one but she has got sooooo smiley lately. she beams and she absolutely loves dancing. she hated pasta but i put tuna in it the other day and she ate it all.

jacob.
he has 6 teeth. he also has quite bandy legs, which i am getting a bit concerned about. although it is meant to be normal until 2yrs. he loves to carry and drag things around and does it with purpose- like its his job or something. he wants everything isobel has, and will push and pull her etc. but he mostly plays nice. if hes not in the mood, you have to fight him to change his nappy or put clothes on him. he can be very affectionate one minute and not very the next. he can be playing for ages, but as soon as he sees you go into the ktchen, he will stand at the gate and cry if you come out without food or drink. he loves all food! his skin flares up terribly though if you give him, tomatoes, pineapple, oranges and strawberries. he can touch his nose and stick out his tongue clap his hands, sit down and give you a kiss if you ask him. he says dadda A LOT! He talks very seriously to you in babble. right tells you a tale! if you lay on the floor he will come over and lay on you are snuggle up to you. he is OBSESSED with open and closing doors. he loves to dance too.

beaditAli · 09/10/2011 10:09

sassy wondering what names you're fancying or are you keeping it a secret? Smile

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 09/10/2011 11:27

beaditali no, no secrecy! i had a thread on it a bit ago. my choices are nathaniel or isaac for a boy and esme or emme for a girl, but dp doesnt like them. i think he might come around to isaac if its a boy, but he really dislikes all the others. he likes elizabeth for a girl, but im not keen. he came up with a name for a boy the othe day and i really like it but it is too similar to jacob. its actually spelt jacobi, but pronounced completely different. we looked into if there was a different spelling and there is - jakobe- but its still too similar. all the sylibles are prounced different though. jacob is jay-cub and jacobi is ja-co-be. fingers crossed for isaac. if its a girl we're fecked!

beaditAli · 09/10/2011 18:01

Our friends just had an Elizabeth but she's a 'Libby' which I really like...... Beth too. I love Isaac but our friends had one 3 weeks before Jack was born! He gets Zack or Mr I!!!!! Grin Big fan of Emme too!
Still thinking boy Wink Grin

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 09/10/2011 18:29

I like Isaac and nathaniel, if we had another boy (huge gigantic if!!) he would probably be sam and a girl probably Emily but I have always said I like to see the baby first. I like pretty traditional names. Dh was so difficult with everything I liked for boys. I loved beth until I met dh and his evil ex wife is Elisabeth but known as beth so I've been slightly put off!! One of my minded little girl's baby sister is esme and I love it (could continue the twilight theme Wink).

Yay for your friends and thanks for the Thanks lumpylumps, first ones I've had all year!

Ds1 rode his new (dss's old one with a new tyre) bike today without stabilisers! I'm so proud of him! He's had a balance bike until now and didnt want to bother with stabilisers at all and we won't have to. Thoroughly recommend a balance bike to anyone now, let's them learn to balance and go pretty fast and when they move to a bike with pedals only have to worry about pedalling. He's started on 'k' with hos speech therapist yesterday and she's really impressed with how well he's doing so thumbs up all round for him at the moment!

Hope Lucy and Phoebe feel better soon and give their mummies a rest!

I'm sure arlo will settle soon Dixiebell, interesting that he 'let her near him by the end' my experience with the children I've minded is that when they're upset anyone who cuddles them is good! Is he particularly shy with other generally? When are you going back to work?

Dixiebell · 09/10/2011 18:47

cinnamon, he's not great with other people, unless he knows them v well like my mum. He's been worse since starting cm, won't let anyone else hold him or walk him round. He just gets angry when I hand him to the cm, and I think cuddles won't do the trick. He needs distraction, but at the mo can't get past the fact that I've left him! I'm sure he'll get better in time though.

Debs75 · 09/10/2011 21:49

Lucy is feeling better now and finally gone down to bed. We've had a manic day so she missed her afternoon nap and was cranky over tea and bathtime. Just hoping she stays in her cot all night.

Cinnamon we got dd2 a balance bike and she loves it. It took years for dd1 to learn to ride so we thought we would try something different.

Sassy I don't envy you in naming the baby and keeping dp happy. With dd2 I had loads of names and dp vetoed every one. He then gave me a choice of just one and wouldn't take no for an answer. Luckily it really suits her now and I love it but I was really angry with him for months for giving my baby a name. With Lucy I gave him a shortlist of 5 and told him if he couldn't choose then I would. Lucy was 3rd on the list so a win win all round

MammyG · 09/10/2011 23:04

Sassy I really like the name Isaac. It was on my boy list but pipped to the post by Jonah and Quinn. Love the girls name Emme but DH was having none of it! Also DS2 is Max so it was a bit too J-lo! Having trouble even remembering what other girls names we were considering - a lifetime ago!! My friend has decided on the name Georgina if she has a little girl. Also kicked off my list by DH cause he knows I would have called her Gigi seeing as our last name starts with G. He knows me too well!
Phoebe was in better form today but just heard her on the monitor there having trouble. Hope she sleeps well tonight the poor pet. Amazing how they can smile through it all tho. got through the weekend with DH alright must head to bed now so that i am not demon-mommy in the morning trying to get everyone out on time! The guys are cycling the last stage tomorrow. I cannot believe what Donal has achieved - its amazing. If anyone is interested check out the lifecycle.ie. (hes also on facebook) He hasnt filled the blog this time round cause he has literally gone with just a driver which makes it even more amazing that he hasnt had a team etc. Its something he decided on after my dad died. My sister went around the world and my other brother is planning a lifetime trip over xmas. Im feeling a little like and underachiever! Grin

sassy34264 · 10/10/2011 10:18

everyone loves it in rl mammyg which i think is making him come round a bit.

debs Shock at your dp making you have a name you didnt like. i know its turned out ok now, but still. i really want a name i love but i wouldnt want my dp to hate the name of his child. and if he tried to force me to have a name i didnt like, i'd say good luck at the registering office without me there.

i have a dilemma. i have a sweep planned for wed. but dp has a jobs fair on the thurs. i'd love to have the baby asap, but it is massively important to us as a family that dp has a job. he has 6months to get one and one that pays as well as the one he has. i know the sweep might not even work straight away but im thinking my side is just me being selfish, whereas his is him doing something for all of our benefit. im just fed up of being pregnant! i think im going to decline. if it comes of its own accord, then theres not much we can do.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/10/2011 10:57

My understanding of sweeps, especially when before the due date is that they accumulative sassy34264, so the first one probably won't do a lot on it's on but makes the cervix more favourable for a more effective second sweep and so on iyswim. I'd have it but then I had one with ds1 that did nothing and 3 with Luke which I'm sure helped things progress once I was induced but didn't actually start my labour. Is the job fair a really good opportunity? Will there be others in the near future? As you say he may miss it anyway. I can't remember if you said and sorry if you did but did you actually go into labour with Chloe? I know you had a cs but wasn't sure if it was planned or emergency. If so did were you overdue? Might give you an idea of how likely things are to happen spontaneously.

lumpylumps · 10/10/2011 19:06

Sassy another fan of Isaac. Love Esme too! scrap the sweep!

So Oliver keeps being sick! I can't think it can be a bug cos its not all the time. twice 2 weeks ago today, once on saturday & twice today. I'm bored of it now. I'm pretty sure the 1st time today was cos he gagged on his tea but no idea about the others. he's off his food too although happily munched through 3 biscuits at his nannys today! Any suggestions?!

MammyG · 10/10/2011 20:32

Sassy Can you rearrange it for Friday? Mine worked fairly quickly with phoebe but then I think things were in the early stages already. The only reason I would be wary is because you have such a short gap between pregnancies. This one could be very quick.

patito · 11/10/2011 15:30

Another fan of Issac and Esme here!
no help on sweep, havent got a clue on these things.

Lumps could it be anything he´s eating. Maia kept vomiting (not last session as that was a bug!) and worked out it was yoghurt. Just an idea.
