Newmum Grace sounds like my friends little girl she was talking in full sentences by 18 months! Its great, its a clearer insight into what at baby thinks! Have you seen the aibu thread by the 3 year old about the pear! Very funny!

MammyG · 17/09/2011 20:44

Hi all
newmum Grace sounds like she is up to all kinds of antics!! Cant believe the words - thats amazing!!
I had the most wonderful night way... the hotel was simply amazing, just the lap of luxury!!! IT was great fun with the girls - chatting and drinking til 3am. Am knackered today but was lovely.
Chat a bit later will be hitting the sack early tonight!

newmum001 · 17/09/2011 22:05

She's a right little chatter box lumpy, she never shuts up! And mammy she's getting herself into all kinds of trouble, she had quite a nasty fall off the sofa yesterday (she's learnt to climb up on it) I'd repeatedly told her to get down and she leant how to say get down but refused to actually get down and the second I turned my back she fell backwards off it and really hit her head on the floor. She was crying for ages to I took her over to it and smacked it and said naughty sofa and grace started hitting it really hard and yelling get down at the top of her voice whilst crying and snot running down her face. If I hadn't been so traumatised from the fall I would have found it very funny!
She's also such a show off, when she's taken a few steps she stands there clapping her hands and tells everyone else to "pap hands" then laughs and toddles off! She's learnt how to press the button to open the draw of her till and close it again and every time tells me to pap hands, then she repeats the process and I have to pap hands again. Over and over! we both end up in stitches, she's such a little character!

Mammy I am very very jealous of your night at the hotel!

Beadit, just seen your pics on fb, jacks cake is AMAZING!!!!

sassy34264 · 18/09/2011 07:27

newmum everytime i see your pics of her, i cant get over how older she looks than mine. she looks very tall i think and she is definately a mini you!

i had an interesting time in tesco yesterday. well, tbh it was totally uneventful until the last 10mins. me and dp had spilt up to fetch the last few things and i told him i would meet him at the milk. as i was waiting this older woman came up to me and said, 'have they not had their dinner yet'
it was 6.30pm and they were eating dried apricots. i said ' yes they have had their dinner'
as she went to walk away she clocked my bump. she said 'are you having another? i said 'yes' she said 'oh what have you done that for?' i said ' cos i wanted to' she points to isobel and says ' but she's only a baby, you shoul have waited' and the again she said 'she's only a baby, look, you should have waited' 'how will you cope with them' and then proceeded to walk off as dp arrived. i sort of shouted over my shoulder 'i'm sure i'll manage. and then to dp, i said 'so fuck off'. i was so flabbergasted, she caught me completely off guard. i ended up stood in the milk and yogurt aisle crying! i dont know why. but it really upset me. then we were at the checkout, isobel pulled her shoe and sock off, so we put it in the trolley while we were packing, and she walked past and said to dp ' oh she's lost her sock and shoe. (dp didnt know it was same woman) and he said 'no, its ok, we've put it in the trolley' and she said 'but her foot will get cold' !!!!!
as we were walking out dp says 'stupid cow has managed to annoy me now'
can you believe her?! what is her problem? i said to dp, i should have said ' well as you won' t be paying or babysitting, i really dont think its and of your business- so piss off.
we had a laugh in the car afterwards though, cos dp says ' keep an eye out for her' as he pulled out of car park space. i said 'why? we gonna run her over' he said ' no i'll just open my door and boot her off her feet' Grin
he said ' she never had no shopping you know' i said ' i bet she does it all the time, goes around upsetting people on purpose.' dp says ' she's probably making her way round to asda now' i said 'yeah to accost some fat person and point to their shopping of pizza and pies and say, no wonder you're fat, look at what you are eating' silly witch.

lumpylumps · 18/09/2011 09:37

saaay people like that really piss me off. Did you have them both with you? did she not clock the fact that you had twins & were having another one??

newmum001 · 18/09/2011 10:42

A woman I used to work with was like that sassy, had an oppinion on everyones life yet her own was a complete mess! Her kids hated her, he husband had left her and she'd never seen her grandkids yet she delighted in other peoples misery and had a put down for everyone who was happy! Some opeople just aren't worth worrying about yet I completely see why you got upset! You were way more polite than I would have been and I'm glad you and your dp managed to have a laugh about it! And yes grace is very tall and very slim so not a mini me in that sense but my mum is always saying how it's like having me at that age! She's fiercely independant but if I leave the room she cries like I'm never coming back and if she's tired or upset she only wants me! She's starting to have proper tantrums now as well but no one believes me cause whenever anyone is round she's an absolute angel! I wouldn't have her any other way though!

sassy34264 · 18/09/2011 15:17

yes, jacob was with us. he was sat next to her in a double seated trolley. i did say that to dp- why did she just say isobel? but i thought, she's one of those dumb buggers, who either ask are they twins or are all shocked when they realise they are twins. i always get- 'but he's bigger' yes, but do you think he is 9 months bigger? i always want to say it, but i refrain. its not quite as bad as those that either say 'are they identical?' or ' but they look so different' Hmm

newmum001 · 18/09/2011 19:42

She probably thinks your one of those women who knocks out kids every nine months and coins it in from benefits! When she asked why u were having another you should have said "so I can get more money off the government, isn't that why everyone has kids" and then picked up a pack of value nappies and a load of beer! That would have really shocked her! [Grin]

cinnamongreyhound · 18/09/2011 20:04

That's really sad sassy34264, I never understand why some people think it's ok to inflict their opinions on anyone they happen to meet! I think it's hair as well as size, Jacob looks a lot older because he has lots of it. She'd be appalled that mine would probably not I've eaten at 6.30 if I'd been shopping after work but then she doesn't have my life and has no idea what I have to cope with.

It great the grace speaks so much newmum001, it's really hard having a child that no-one can understands for you and them so I hope she carries on being a chatterbox!!

Glad you had a nice time with your friends mammyG, I'm going out for a meal and the cinema with my friend and I'm very excited!!

Had a lovely weekend, apart from realising I'd left it too long to get my car retested and had to pay again for a second mot :(. We went to the dinosaur park today and it was so lovely to see Luke pointing at all the models and toddling around everywhere. He then sat in the dirt with a stick while ds1 played in the park, he really is an outdoors child! Plus I chatted to my dad and he's going to meet us in London for luke's EAT study appointment as dh can't come with us so we will have a nice lunch somewhere Grin. Why do the weekends have to fly by so quickly?

I'm up for a meet up but if we want to talk will have to find somewhere with nothing to grab/eat/break or escape from if Luke is anything to go by!

Debs75 · 18/09/2011 22:32

Newmum DD1 was like that, she could talk the hind legs off a donkey. At 15 she still can as so it doesn't leave themGrin Lucy is making loads of noises but no words really. I am though getting loads of hugs and she pops her head on my shoulder, pats my arm and then goes 'aaahhhhh' It makes me well up every time. Her and dd2 are having a jealous phase so my time is spent cuddling one and placating the other.

Sassy some people eh? I can't think why she was woried they hadn't eaten at 6.30. Most babies have more then 3 meals so they would be well fed. Maybe she was having an off day. I always get comments about Lucy not wearing socks, she eats them every time, I tend to ignore the stupid ones. If we are shopping I tend to hold her feet an keep them warm that way.

If we are having a meet up any chance it can be more north eastern?

MammyG · 18/09/2011 23:41

Sassy The only consolation I can give you is that we have an absolute nutter in our town that goes around abusing people and saying ridiculous things and most days she looks normal so if you werent local you wouldnt know she is bonkers! (except on days when she just wears a short t-shirt and tan tights...kind of sets off alarms!) You have also got the consolation that she probably wouldnt manage if she has to even question it and you are/will do a smashing job!
Beadit OMG girlie - you and the other super bakers here are scaring me! Im going to have to get off my backside and plan something for this birthday! I will be under mahoosive scrutiny! DS1 has been to enough parties to compare and MIL is a whizz with baking. Ugh! Its all work for mums!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/09/2011 09:45

Luke is so jealous of ds1 Debs75, he tries to push him off my lap and when I do his school reading with him (I don't let Luke sit with us or he just grabs the pages) just stands in front of us screaming and crying :(. Ds1 has never been jealous of Luke or the children I mind apart from the very first little girl I had so I'm a bit shocked by it!

lumpylumps · 19/09/2011 19:54

On the subject of socks, Olly kept his on for the whole day today Shock 1st time ever! AAAAAAAAAAAND, he took a whole 3 steps (complete fluke) Grin

Would a meet up without the babies be a possibility??? Nice meal, few drinks, travel lodge???

Would I be an absolute fool to introduce a dummy now?? Olly has started having his milk in his cot & lays there sucking the bottle till there is absolutely nothing left & then falls asleep sucking it. He screams like a mad man when you take it off him!

newmum001 · 20/09/2011 19:17

Happy birthday jack, hope you've all had a lovely day and that he enjoyed his moon cake!

Lumpy I cought grace with a dummy the other day, we kept a few even though she wouldn't have one cause when she was little and teething she liked chewing them. But she came crawling in my bedroom the other day sucking one, god knows where she found it but I took it off her and threw it away as I really don't want her to have one now! But if he's struggling at night time I would maybe give it a go. Me and my sister only had them at night time and my mum said it was a lifesaver. She did really struggle to get us off them though as we needed them to sleep (we were nearly 4 when we finally gave them up) Shock

lumpylumps · 20/09/2011 19:41

toby had 1 and gave it up really easy! He just forgot it 1 night! I'm not going to bother tho. Why start it now!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPY BIIIIIIIRTHDAAAAAAAAAY JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! XXXXX

beaditAli · 20/09/2011 20:35

Oh mammy I have to admit that I was crafty when I chose the moon as a cake theme! I knew if it had craters the icing could look messy and nobody would know and we can all make a good snowman so I just added an air tank on his back and a black window for his helmet! The edible moon dust was the key I think! Glad you're impressed tho Blush it's definitely the first time i've made anything that I'd be happy to take a picture of!

sassy The silly muppet! I would have been fuming! I'd have legged it to the sock aisle and said 'you forgot these'...... to shove in your mouth! Grin
I know a few sets of (strangely all sisters) siblings who are only split by 12 months or so and they all say how lovely it was growing up so close in age! Grin I keep thinking you're having a boy Confused

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Had a really busy weekend then to our friend's caravan in Hornsea for some chill time. I wouldn't choose to go there normally but it's free and reasonably close so all good really.

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend x

About 30 different compatencies on my ward to complete :( I'm just hoping I can keep up! everyday there is more work added.

I've got my off duty and I'm supernumery for two weeks commencing 3rd Oct then I will have my own patients to look after! I'm already down for nights starting end of Jan for a mth. Shock

So sorry Ladies not had time to catch up properly x x

sassy34264 · 20/09/2011 22:05

argh! this phone is right playing up these last couple of days. it takes numerous attempts to post. i can read all the time but posting is a nightmare. so forgive me if i miss a birthday.
happy birthday to jack. x
and happy birthday to maria ann for tomorrow. x
good luck with your new job and all your exams and competencies watersprite.

ive had another eventful time in the last 24 hours. i noticed jacob was breathing really heavy and fast last night and took him to the emergency docs. she said it was a cold and a viral infection and gave us paracetamol, ventolin and a spacer for admimistering it. told me to do it throughout the night and watch for a cough. woke up this morning and hes much worse with a barking cough. docs wouldnt even see him, told me to take him straight to a+e- frightened the life out of me. paedatrician said he has croup. gave him some steroids. and said it should start to go better gradually over next few days. that reminds me i need to look up the chances of isobel catching it. thats all i need. its been very upsetting listening to him breath like he cant catch his breath and barking like a seal when he coughs. i cant say that he has been ill in himself though- thank god.

its been de ja vue on my oct 11 thread. 1st birth was a lady in lovetodance situation and then the 2nd birth is the twins lady. (today just after midnight) theyve all been girls though.
also unfortunately the lady who was 1st has had a little girl with edwards syndrome. ive never heard of it, but i googled it and it is a chromosome defect. they dont know how long she will live. so sad.
i always seem to be the bearer of bad news on here. Hmm
sorry about that.

mapletrees · 20/09/2011 22:18

Happy Birthday Jack :o

beadit hope you've had a lovely day :)

mapletrees · 21/09/2011 11:51

Happy Birthday Maria-Ann Hope you have a great time at your party on Saturday?

sassy Have you seen this? Grin Sounds like they've still got a tough road ahead, but amazing news nonetheless...

beaditAli · 21/09/2011 14:41

Happy birthday Maria-Ann xx

I'm sorry to change the wonderful subject of birthdays but i'm tearing my hair out thinking about what to do re: MMR Sad
Jack had his consultation re: egg allergy and it was decided a blood test would just confirm that he is definitely allergic and should stay off pure form egg and off nuts totally until 18 months when bloods will be done.
C'tant said he'd be totally happy for Jack to have vaccines at the GPs and not to have them at hospital (which they do as precaution with egg allergy cases sometimes) as he's more likely to have a reaction to the gelatin than the protein linked with eggs..........
Trouble is I'm so, so worried knowing children with autism and reading so much on here about it all................. Confused Confused Confused
I know i've brought this up on our thread before but am hoping for those of you that don't mind chatting about your feelings...................... could you please? Anything will help my silly brain! I appreciate some may prefer not to get involved.
Is 12 months optimum time or do any of you recommend waiting til 18 months? etc etc etc

Thanks in advance xx

Happy birthday to Jack for yesterday and Maria Ann for today.

Beadit me dsis lives in Hornsea, know what you mean about a holiday there, it is too sleepy for me but lovely to live there.
As for MMR's I have declined dd2's and Lucy's. DS has autism and even though I am undecided on whether MMR caused it I am unprepared to take the risk with the dd's. Watching 1 child regress was bad enough but watching another and knowing what they will go through is terrifying.
you have to decide though and many will think you mad for even considering declining. Have you researched single doses at all?
DD2 is now 3 and we are starting to consider giving her it when it is booster time so at 4. It still scares me though and I will probably chicken out and not give her it at all.
