Happy Birthday to all the babies I have missed once again...am sorry. Am on my own in work now for a week too, so won't get much chance to catch up.

Olivers christening and birthday party is on Sunday, but not actual birthday til the 26th. We also go away next Wednesday up to Whitby for a few days, so busy busy all round.

We've also got guests all weekend because of said Christening/Birthday and a mouse has decided to make a very untimely move in to the spare bedroom and we can't catch the bastard little guy..... Angry

Happy Birthday today to Grace.

Happy Birthday Grace

Hope you both have a lovely day today newmum. I found Louis' birthday surprisingly emotional, so you're not the only one Wink.

How was yesterday cinnamon?

newmum001 · 14/09/2011 11:40

Well I've survived the morning without crying so far! Grace is loving all her new toys but her absolute favourite is the little drag along dog we bought her and she took 7 unaided steps to get to it (the most she's done before now is 3) she learnt to climb the stairs yesterday and was already half way up by the time I realised she was missing so I sent dp to mothercare last night for baby gates and she looks like a little tiny prisoner holding onto it crying :)

Gonna take her to fun depot after her dinner and then we're having family over later for chippy tea!

Oh and she slept till 8am (but woke up for half an hour at 2am)

Hope maia is feeling better today xx

Debs75 · 14/09/2011 15:21

Beadit you can get sleeping bags with legs in so might be an idea to cut the bottom seam and they make it into legs.
I haven't used them with Lucy but dd2 loved hers, I mught dig the winter ones back out as Lucy is now having mopst of the night in her cot, unless dp comes to bed early, then she wakes up. need to get it sorted before it is too cold, it isn't fair to make him sleep downstairs during winter.

Sassy how long do you have left?

Happy birthday Grace

sassy34264 · 14/09/2011 16:01

debs im 34 weeks today. had my scan. they have estimated the weight at 6lbs 7ozs! argh. they could be wrong but they were almost bang on last time for both of them. i have put a picture on of my bump and the scan for my oct 11 thread, feel free to take a look. we put the bumps on the other day to compare, but my scan picture is sooooo freaky i just had to put it on. the baby has massive over proportioned lips from the side! saw a front facial picture as well that looks a bit more normal.

never seen any of the other's faces in a scan before- made me burst into tears cos it was sooo lovely.

cinnamongreyhound · 14/09/2011 20:58

Happy birthday Grace!! Glad you had a lovely day newmum001!

Thanks for all the messages for Luke he had a lovely day. I was a bit disappointed as we have to be up early anyway for my kids and dh leaves at 7 so we didn't do anything in the morning and then dh was interviewing and then discussing so was home late. We opened presents, I opened cards on my own and then we had tea and straight to bed as both boys were tired. Next year I will definately finish at 3 so I can pick ds1 up and we can all do something. Not nearly as lovely as Maia's birthday sounds patito, hope she's feeling better. I did take a cake to the toddler group we go to and everyone sang to him which was lovely.

Sounds exciting getting baby bits ready sassy34264! I couldn't fin where the link was for your bump.

Had to laugh at your mouse SeaChelles! hope you have a lovely christening and holiday not Envy at all Wink

Love the sound of your astronaut beaditAli, if you want some baking tips I'm happy to provide any. I love baking! I wish I could be more creative, all my cakes have come out of a book and te decorating part is very stressful but it's nice to see the kids faces when they see them.

Ds1 has coped so well with school so far, he has lots of friends from being at nursery in school and even played with my minded children who are 7 and 8 today at lunch time. Tomorrow is his first full day so keeping fingers crossed!! REALLY looking forward to the weekend this week, is it Friday yet?!?

sassy34264 · 14/09/2011 21:12

cinnamon there is no link, its on my profile. just click on my usernsme above this post.
glad ds1 is enjoying school. it is such a worry, and it doesnt get any better when they move to high school either. i dread her getting picked on, or hating it.

cinnamongreyhound · 14/09/2011 21:20

My mistake I thought you said you put it on your oct 11 thread. It's always hard to tell from photos but your bump does look bigger than mine, hopefully it won't grow too much more. When we had Luke I had extra scans because my bmi was 35 and we could see him drinking his amniotic fluid, was so lovely!! I was bullied at school so I'm terrified about it, I want them both to have a wonderful time at school. I know I'll want to rush in there and kill tell off any child who is mean to my boys! I was told by his teacher today that he's very bright (while talking about his salt) and that speech is his only problem Grin

Dixiebell · 14/09/2011 22:02

Happy birthday to all the lovely one year olds! sassy, you're making me broody! Keep thinking about trying for next one, but am still on maternity leave, feel I really ought to show my face in the office before announcing the next pregnancy!

Arlo is great. And hard work! He understands so much these days, can point to things I say (aeroplane, bird, cat, head, mummy's nose!...), makes squeaking noises when I say mouse, says balloon 'boom', toast 'tst', up... He has got really fussy about food, will eat toast but not bread, decided he doesn't like rice... His walking is so good, he can walk unaided for 20,30 steps, bend and pick things up, turn round, but he can't stand up himself, except by pulling up on something, and he falls backwards! I mean, he doesn't lose balance, bend his knees and land on his bum, he keels backwards or sideways like a plank! So I don't feel able to let him toddle off as it'll always end in him landing on his head! Means I am always hovering behind. Anyone experienced this? He still doesn't crawl and think that's part of it, he's got so used to me walking him round he thinks I'll always be there to catch him! It's been 4 months now since he started walking (constantly) and my back can't take much more!

sassy34264 · 15/09/2011 18:30

sorry dixie but that made me laugh! i think his brain must be too heavy for his body. Grin

i think we are getting our 1st baby on the oct 11 thread tomorrow. a lady on there is having similiar probs to lovetodance and they have given her steroid injections today and a c section tomorrow. unlike lovetodance though she is 8months and not 6months, so not quite as scary.

lumpylumps · 15/09/2011 20:01

Belated happy birthday Grace!!

I'm being a bit rubbish at the minute. still struggling to get used to the new routine, being back at work & leaving my babies. Its a lot easier than it could be cos they love nursery and don't really seem to miss me!

Work would be a bit easier if they remembered i've been off 14 months & a hell of a lot has changed. Including where the office is. I was put in clinic last friday. No one told me the room had changed so I was fumbling with a keypad of a room with a meeting in. Then I called the 1st patient in & in came this lady. After a few confused questions & odd conversation, it turns out she wasn't my patient (even though she's answered to her name) and was there for accupuncture, not a leg dressing! oops!

Sassy So exciting. My friend from uni was due in oct but had her little boy a couple of weeks ago. Not sure why but he's fine & is doing really well! Gave him a really wonderful name to! Have you picked names???

beaditAli · 15/09/2011 20:11

Broody broody broody! I definitely am! Confused
I now think i've gone full circle from wanna be to wanting 100% to be a full time mum ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL my life! Tho I have had 2 glasses of very nice vin rouge Grin

Dixie You'd have further to bend if he was crawling! Wink I'm not sure that if Arlo had sussed crawling it would prevent the knocks. J was doing laps around the maze that is our Docs surgery today and went ase over tt so many times! He fell and bashed his upper lip YET again! I swear he'll be the first........ no second to break a tooth! Did Olly chip one last week?
Arlo sounds amazing tho and is v v cute! Grin

cinnamon I am so ashamed that I bought carrot cake packet mix Blush I can't tell you how cack I am in the kitchen but his icing astronaut is soooooooo brilliant I think my head is going to explode with pride! Blush
His hand made pressie won't be finished til his actual birthday on Tuesday so no opening that on Saturday at his party Sad
It sounds v boring but it's a height chart for all the family. I couldn't find a nice one so am making it.

Luke started getting up himself within a couple of weeks of taking regular unaided steps dixiebell. I would put him somewhere he can pull himself up and let him get on with it a few times. Once he starts walking more independently he will get lots of bumps and I don't think you can avoid it. If you have carpet he will be fine if a bit shaken!

Tsk beaditAli, as packet!! I can't believe it, I have an AMAZING carrot cake recipe that is idiot proof. I am the same about being a mummy, the best thing in the world!!!! I'm ready for baby no. 3 but it is not to be :(

I bet you're doing great lumpylumps!! You'll be settled back into work before you know it and yay for the boys being happy at nursery Grin

Luke said his first proper word today! He's being saying 'Ta' when he gives you something for a couple of weeks but he said 'cat' today several times when one went past, it's so cute and I'm so proud!!! Ds1 had his first full day at school today, was so good, no grumps when he came out and he was in charge of taking the register to the office!

MammyG · 15/09/2011 23:47

Happy Belated Birthday Grace!!!
One more week to go for Phoebe! I cannot believe all the personality that has come out of her in the past month! She is so much fun but has a real 'dont cross me' side. She has so much 'tude its hilarious! And she gets so excited - the boys even crack up!
Im being whisked away tomorrow by my friend. Its a belated birthday present. Dont know where I am going or whats happening just that I have to be ready to go at half 4 tomorrow and not back til late sat. EXCITED!!!! A whole night! Might even get some sleep!
Not a bad week at work - starting to get the swing of things and the family juggle. Lets hope I can keep it up!

sassy34264 · 17/09/2011 11:52

argh lost post! shorten version:
hope you had fun mammyg
we are spending the weekend getting baby ready, ikea furniture, washing, ironing, packing, tidying etc.
jacob said something other than mamma, dadda and nanna. he says ' 'downstairs' when i get him in the morning! so cute.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 17/09/2011 12:03

Hey ladies, sorry I've missed birthday so happy first birthdays to all the gorgeous babas. Can't believe how quickly the time is flying yet I can't remember life before being a mommy!

I've been away from MN due totje dreaded Ofsted inspection at work! Totally exhausted from all the planning but thankfully it's over and theschool got a good overall with outstanding features. Takes the piss a bit though as we got 2 for behaviour because apparently our pupils are too well behaved!!! Hmm

anyway, hope u are all well and enjoying your birthday celebrations. Harlyn's is two weeks off now. He took his first unaided step today so very excited. His first proper word apart from mama and dada is "gone" bless x x

JodeyBogeyPicker · 17/09/2011 12:04

Oooh, are we going to organise another meet at any point? X

lumpylumps · 17/09/2011 15:48

sassy please can you msg me your address? I'm asking in advance cos you might leave us again when the baby comes! You'll be crazy busy!

newmum001 · 17/09/2011 19:04

Oooh I will defo try to come to the next meet up, would be sooo cute to see all the babies playing together! Just such a shame we don't all live a lot closer as I'm not very organised and struggle massivly with trains etc! Grace had her second birthday party today for those who couldn't see her on her actual birthday (we have a massive family) that's 3 parties in 2 weeks including her christening and I'm soo glad it's all over!

Grace can near enough hold a conversation now, she can pick new words up after just hearing them once and is saying soo much and starting to put words together, down mummy, more mummy etc I'm not braging but everyone is always amazed at how much she can say! Also she's walking a lot more. She's still only doing a few steps at a time but is starting to try walking to get to things now rather than crawling. I can't believe how much she's changed over the last few weeks. She's more of a little girl now than a baby! I've put a load of new pics on facebook is anyone wants to have a look! When she was born I couldn't imagine loving her more than I did then but honestly I could burst I love her so much more every day!
