Lucy managed to crawl all the way upstairs todayGrin although maybe should beShock, will have to get the stairgate out again soon

Harlyn's Christening photos for anyone who is interested! Hopefully it works Smile

Talking of stairs, Harlyn is obsessed and constantly wants to climb up them. He gets up them so fast (with me behind him for safety, obviously) We now have 3 lots of stair gates to get through! Pain in the arse when trying to carry anything upstairs, including a very heavy 2 stone baby!!!!

mapletrees · 06/09/2011 21:03

Jodey he's gorgeous Smile. And he's changed so much since we met up (I guess it was half a lifetime ago for him Wink)

I haven't even had Louis' feet measured yet. We're going to wait until he starts walking outside before we buy him any. If he takes after me, when we do go to buy some, we might have the same problem as you beadit - I was a D for most of my childhood, but sometimes a C (my poor parents). Even now most slip-on shoes fall right off my feet...

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2011 21:07

Lovely pics JodeyBogeyPicker.

Must be the day for stairs Debs75 Luke climbed one of our flights today too! With me behind him though so no Shock

Tomorrow is a sad day, my baby is starting school! Must not cry :( especially when taking pics of him looking very grown up in his new uniform!

Luke is really into everything even more than I thought was possible!! He's driving me mad, started putting everything in the kitchen bin and out of the cat flap too. And he can walk really fast now not to mention his determination to throw himself down the stairs!!!! His little smile wipes all the annoyance away though Grin

sassy34264 · 06/09/2011 21:19

hello. went shopping with my mum and chloe on sunday for last minute high school stuff and left my phone in mums car. only just got it back.
sorry i missed arlo's birthday. hope you all had fun.
chloe started school today and loved it. only 1 day in a million but its better to have that first day be good!
debs its a vauxhall zafria (sp) its not brand new. 2008 or 2009 is the choice.
mammyg such good news for your friend. mine has had her 20 week scan now and everything looks good after 2 miscarriages. fingers crossed for them both.

on to the bad news now im afraid. sil is not good. mil rang us yesterday after the results and she has stage 3 cancer. stage 1 being the best and stsge 4 the worst. it hasnt spread into any other organs (which would make it stage 4) but it has spread right down into her vagina. they cant operate so she has to have chemo and is starting this week. the prognosis is 30%-50% are still alive after 5 years. we are all reeling. i think on the face of it she is taking it better than the rest of us. dp is - well tbh i dont know what he is. he just looks like he cant take it in. he has this look on his face, like hes just seen a magic trick and cant fathom out how that is possible. sorry if that sounds daft but its the only way i can describe it. she is 10 years younger than him and so she is his baby sister, quite literally to him. i caught him hugging and looking at isobel intensely. its just so cruel to happen to someone so young.

lumpylumps · 07/09/2011 08:22

Oh sassy, Thats awful. Making me cry so I can't imagine how awful it is for you & your family. I just pray for you all that she is 1 of the 30%-50%

Good luck cinnamon you know he'll be fine, it's you that needs the luck!

Debs75 · 07/09/2011 10:54

Sassy that is awful news for someone so young. I hope she responds well to treatment. There is an article in my local paper where a man was given 3 months to live after being diagnosed with cancer and he is still here after 5 years.
We looked at a Zafari a few years ago but I wasn't keen on the rear seats, are you putting the twins in them or Chloe?

Well both little ones today got me up at 6am this morning so I am shattered and grouchy, plus dp has a stomach bug and all dc3 wants to do is wake Lucy then scream at us. Roll on next week, the two big ones will be at school and dc3 will be at nursery so just me dp and lucy in a morning

mapletrees · 07/09/2011 11:07

So sorry sassy. That's terrible news. As lumpy said, I really hope she is one of the 30-50%. Your DP is probably in shock, he will probably go though a whole host of emotions as the news sinks in..

How are you doing today cinnamon? I bet James is having a great time and will have lots of storys to tell you when he gets home Smile

sassy34264 · 07/09/2011 11:16

debs we will have to put one of them down, for the pram. and chloe will be in the other one. that then leaves 3 middle seats and a front passenger seat. not sure if 3 car seats will fit all across or even if it is a good idea but you can turn the air bag off, so i think i will sit with twins in middle row and have new baby up front with dp.

babies have been sleeping in their own bedroom since weekend. i thought i would feel more teary and sentimental but i dont! it's like they were never in here, now that a chest of drawers has taken there place. im a hard cow!!!! mil was gonna give us the cot she has at her house for sil's ds but i think she maybe having him over a lot in next few months, so we need to buy one. going to get dp to take us to ikea at weekend, they have one for £35 + £25 for a mattress. really need to pack my hospital bag!!! feels weird starting the last 12 months again.

33 today

cinnamongreyhound · 07/09/2011 14:05

That is so sad sassy34264, I just don't know how anyone copes with that kind of news especially with little ones. Don't worry about not feeling sentimental, mine were never in my room so I must be harder! Enjoy Ikea I haven't been for ages but love it. My car is a picasso and fits 3 carseats together across that back no problems. Are you still opting for a VBAC?

I was ok thanks mapletrees and lumpylumps, I arranged to have my new baby meet me in the playground after as that is where her mum will be dropping her off and thought it would take my mind off it and it worked! Could hardly be bawling my eyes out in front of my new customer! He was fine, grumpy as usual and very unhappy when he couldn't go and buy sweets as soon as we got out. All he wanted to do was eat and watch TV so I have given in! I'm not looking forward to the school run this afternoon with him moaning all the way. I managed to keep Luke awake until after we'd picked ds1 up but he ran away from me at school and as he turned to laugh at me chasing him he tripped and fell forehead first onto the pavement so has a nice lump for his 12 month check tomorrow!

comixminx · 07/09/2011 16:39

Oh sassy, what tough news. As with the others, here's hoping that your SIL is in the positive end of things once she has her treatment. They can do so much nowadays, here's hoping.

It felt ace to have Aphra sleeping in her own room when we moved so I guess I'm a hard cow too! Grin Have fun in Ikea and don't find it too tiring - dashing in and out for something specific is fine but otherwise I know I can find it a bit overwhelming at the best of times.

DP and I went on a Red Cross first aid course for babies and children today - it seemed useful, well done, and interesting. Here's hoping we don't need much if any of it, of course, but now we know how to do CPR, at any rate, and when!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 07/09/2011 19:31

sassy that's just awful news. I'm so sorry. I echo other posts in hoping she's in the 30-50%.

cinamon glad James had a good first day and poor Luke with his bump.

maple when I look back on pics of H, he almost looks like a different baby! It's scary how much he has changed.

sassy34264 · 07/09/2011 20:22

thanks everyone. she has her 1st appointment at christies tomorrow.

i know comix i dont think ive ever been round ikea in less than 2hours! im already thinking we could look for some bedroom furniture for chloes room and we need............ Smile

im doing quite well at the minute-pregnancy wise. i think ive dropped a bit and this has eased all the symptoms a bit. back is still knackered but holding up more often and i can bend better. dp is back tomorrow day time as well, so we will have a long weekend too. we have car buying, cot buying and pub breakfast planned. (carvery near us has started doing breakfasts under the same principle)

beaditAli · 07/09/2011 21:30

sassy so sorry about your SIL Sad and I ditto everything already said about her chances. Fingers crossed her treatment works wonders.
My FIL battled bowel cancer last year and we didn't think he'd see Christmas but he's a toughy and is like the chap we knew before it all which is proof there are happy stories too Smile
Jealous of the shopping! I was car-less today and it peed it down allllllllllll dayyyyyyyyyy longgggggggg so am looking forward to a free day tomorrow to get out the house a bit.

Hope the start of school has gone well for everyone... mums and babies! Grin

One bad thing about getting 'crafty' for bday pressies is the fear of leaving needles and scissors somewhere the monkey boy can get them!! Shock

OP posts:
Debs75 · 08/09/2011 09:12

Sassy I bought the pink cot from IKEA, I think it was the next one up from what you are getting, Lucy spent all of 10 hours in it! She is now starting her nights off in dd2's old cot so will have to sell it.

Start of school for us is next mon, tues and weds so we still have all 4 at home. On the plus side it means we can take them to the deep tomorrow and it will be relatively quiet for ds

SeaChelles · 08/09/2011 10:36

Hi all,

Sassy, I'm really sorry about your SIL. I can't begin to imagine what you all must be going through.

Happy Birthday to all the babies I have missed. I have been manic/poorly/exhausted these last weeks and have missed loads! [sorry emoticon]

Ollys Christening/Birthday party is a week on Sunday. Getting all the last minute bits and pieces ready now. He has had his first shoes for about the last 3 or 4 weeks now and was measured in at a 4.5 G. Got his from the Clarks outlet on Cheshire Oaks though and they were £14.99 instead of £28.... Shock

DP and I aren't really getting Olly much for his birthday because of the cost of the party - but can anyone recommend any good toys? My mum has bought him one of those Smart Trikes and has already given him it - he loves it!! Thinks he is Valentino Rossi...... Grin

My mate had her baby yesterday after spending 5 days in hospital trying to get him to turn she finally managed to give birth naturally to Aaran Joseph. He's scrummy.

We are on tooth number 8 here, which is one of the back molars. Doesn't seem to be bothering him too much at the minute, but no doubt it will get worse! Sad

Olly is really loving the CM now - he gets really excited when we pull in to the drive in the morning!

We have booked to go up to Whitby for 4 nights on the 21st this month, got a new pram for off-roading and also got his Smart Trike for around town. Hopefully he will behave. We've booked an ace appartment which literally provide everything from a baby box with wipes, nappy sacks, cot, highchair, to DVD's and hair straighteners and sandcastle making equipment! Grin

Hope you are all well, I was looking at some of your pics on FB when I was off poorly yesterday and the babies are all just so lovely.

Right.....back to work! [skiving]

cinnamongreyhound · 08/09/2011 12:50

Sorry you have been all of those things SeaChelles! We got a pair for ds1 ages ago when we had a day trip in London from the clarks outlet there and it made dh very happy!!! Luke loves posting things at the moment so I would recommend the elc post box or fisher price piggy bank (it has giant plastic coins!). Also elc do an emergency vehicle thing that is 3 little garages together with an ambulance, fire engine an police car the come out when you open it that was ds1's and Luke loves! He's also just learnt to throw so small soft balls are good too. I am an elc fan and they have some lovely wooden toys too. As he's walking well perhaps a pull along toy.

Enjoy the deep Debs75, very Envy

I think first aid is really important comixminx and so many people have no idea. I do a refresher every 3 years for childminding but was also offered one as part of postnatal group after ds1 and it helped when he chucked at 8 months. No idea how I did it but he was upside down along my arm with 3 back slaps and it popped out! I sat down and shook for sometime and he carried on eating.

Sitting in the park freezing my tits off waiting to take Luke to his check, not really enough time to go home after picking ds1 up. Luke's asleep and ds1 + minded little boy are running around like mad things!!

beaditAli · 08/09/2011 18:26

cinnamon did you just sort of swear??? Shock Shock why do I feel like telling you off? hahahahaha I don't think you've sworn before on here have you? (even tho technically you didn't but you get me)
Wash your mouth out you fuffing naughty lady you Wink

Just getting a telling off myself on chat for having used a cot bumper! Biscuit

Hiya chellerella Grin [waving emoticon]

OP posts:
beaditAli · 08/09/2011 18:28

Oh chelle toys: Jack is mad on his pull along cart with building bricks in but since Olly is already a 400m runner........... maybe some hurdles? Wink

Also loves posting stuff but not as clever as Luke...... he drops everything in the kitchen bin! Angry

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 08/09/2011 19:50

Luke does that too beaditAli! Found ds1's cuddly angry bird in there yesterday. I used a cot bumper with ds1 felt more cozy than the bars. I didn't bother with Luke and I have no idea why! I do swear but really only in front of dh and very close friends.

Luke is fine (as I knew but good to hear it from someone else) and the hv was cooing all over him! He's 10.65kg, 77cm and head circ is 48.2cm. The boys were very good too!

lumpylumps · 09/09/2011 19:46

You know you spend too much time on MN when you try to log onto your work computer with your MN nickname!!!!!

Chelle Olly loves his pop up tent & tunnel! And the piggy banks a fave her too!

Have I said that he had his jabs on tues?? He was a really good boy & only screamed while they were being done! They've both settled into nursery really well but I'm struggling, a lot!! I cried when I dropped them off today. I've been hard till now but couldn't this morning. The nursery girls were lovely tho & they're going to fill a book in for me each day to tell me how they've got on. Ollys is more routine based so I will know if he'll be tired/hungry etc, Tobys is more activity based so I can talk to him about what he's been doing. Tobys book made me cry tho cos they put that he'd been playing with a shy boy & bringing out conversation in him! Called them a "right duo!" He was also playing duck duck goose. Anyone know what that is?? Apparently he was good at it!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/09/2011 22:29

Hugs to you lumpylumps, it's so hard leaving lo's :(. Duck duck goose is where you sit in a circle and one person walks around the edge tapping everyone on the head saying duck duck duck, when they say goose that person has to jump up and chase them. The object is to catch them before they can sit in the space you just left. Hope that makes sense!

My cake went quite well, I was a bit disappointed but dh and the kids were so impressed maybe I was being a bit critical! Have put a pic on fb. I am feeling a mixture of excited and sad about Luke's birthday.

MammyG · 09/09/2011 22:53

Hi all
Sassy Thats crushing news but fingers crossed she will be one of the lucky ones.
lumpy my friend has suffered pre-eclampsia but there were other issues that were not dealt with properly or given the right amount of attention. She is going with a private consultant this time round.
Cinnamon your cake is fab!
I have a headcold! but have dealt with it wonderfully - cosy night in by the fire! Kids loved lazy mommy this evening!
Was wondering can we do a 'one year on' album in our Sept 10 facebook club? maybe add pics of all the babies in their first few weeks and at their birthdays??

MammyG · 10/09/2011 21:09

OMG! Am I reading this right ....is that a whole day with no comment?

cinnamongreyhound · 11/09/2011 10:08

It does happen occasionally MammyG! I will definitely post some pics on Tuesday sounds like a nice idea.

I am very organised for our little party today which is making a bit nervous. Feeling very emotional too, about everything!!
