I second and third the others - some lovely photos there cinnamon, I think! It's very easy, I find, to be disappointed when they don't match what you've expected, but there are some lovely piccies there that hopefully going back and looking again will give you a fresh view on...

Morally, welcome back! Aphra sticks her fingers in my mouth too, grr.

Dixiebell · 25/08/2011 21:54

cinnamon, your boys are gorgeous. My favourite is 5297. They are lovely informal photos of them having fun together!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/08/2011 22:06

You are right mapletrees and comixminx, that's exactly what dh said they weren't what I expected/hoped for so I was disappointed. Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, I think they're both gorgeous and I have found a few I like, definitely won't be buying any with me in them though!!

Hope jack sleeps well tonight beaditAli!!

MorallyBankrupt · 25/08/2011 22:51

Yeah she seems to gouge though at the moment which isn't nice!

Sleeping is still a massive problem in this house. She does 8-11pm and then 12-2am and then about 5-7am!

But on the plus side she is so affectionate at the moment, she'll crawl ontomy lap for a cuddle. Absoluetly heaven.

lumpylumps · 26/08/2011 16:24

Cinnamon I'm with the others some fab photos. I love the one with the book!

Just about to go and pick the boys up from nursery. Fingers crossed for a better day than last week. I've had a better day! Dh has been off to so we went into town. Had our feet tickled and had lunch. I've spent the afternoon baking birthday cakes for the big party on sunday. Mickey mouse has come out brilliantly but the number 1 is a bit uneven. Its a good job I'm icing it as a road. Roads are uneven!!!!! Grin

newmum001 · 26/08/2011 19:26

I haven't had chance to look at the pics cinnamon but I'm sure they're beautiful! I love the one you took of the three of them in the bath brushing their teeth it's adorable! I've been on my own since last night as dp flew to ireland for his dads funeral and I can honestly say I don't know how single parents do it I am absolutely knackered! he txt before to say everything had gone ok and he met his grandad for the first time and said he is a lovely guy so at least something good has come out of this! He should be back soon so we're having a take away then I'm going straight to bed!

saoirse86 · 26/08/2011 22:07

Hi everyone, I haven't been on really for the last couple of weeks and I think I've missed loads. I haven't had a chance to catch up yet but I will try!

Orlaith's walking a bit more now. She's always very slow perfecting things. It took her at least 2 months to perfect crawling and she seems to be doing the same with walking. The most she's managed is 12 steps and it's very cute but also a good job she's always got a nappy or she'd have a bruised bum by now! Grin

We're having our bathroom done at the moment and we haven't had a shower for a few days, just a bath. But luckily it's led to lots of romantic baths with glasses of wine and rolling into bed. Add to that the fact Orlaith's suddenly started going to bed at 8-8.30 and it's been a very good week! Wink

Hope everyone's ok and I will catch up soon, promise.

BTW morally are you new to the thread or recently returned? I can't remember you. Confused

Debs75 · 27/08/2011 09:45

Lucy has started walking holding onto her pram. When we gave it to her for her birthday she wouldn't hold it but now she will walk across the room and then try and turn it to go back. Still not crawling very well
She is into everything and delights in switching the sky off and peeking around doors at you.

Still not sleeping consistently in her cot and has been up the last couple of nights so wondering if she has more teeth coming through. Very jealous of you Saoirse DP hasn't shared my bed for months now as Lucy or dd2 kicks him out.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/08/2011 19:31

I'm sure the cakes are lovely lumpylumps, will look forward to the photos.

Hope dp got home safely newmum001.

Sounds lovely saoirse86, hope it continues for you! Ds1 was shocked when he first fell on his bum after he was potty training!! MorallyBankrupt used to be strictlytory.

Go Lucy!! Sounds like you need to reclaim your bed for you and dp Debs75!

We had a lovely day at the zoo yesterday, Luke loved all the animals and walked lots was so cute! Luke said 'Ta' for the first time today and has carried on saying it everytime I give him something all day, I have a clever boy Grin

saoirse86 · 27/08/2011 21:05

Debs when we were on holiday, I managed to break the brake on the pushchair, and that coincided with Orlaith deciding she loved to push it. It was hard work trying to rescue her before she pushed it and herself into the pool! Confused The living room is much better for doing things like that! And your poor DP, although, if he's anything like mine, he probably likes a bit of space to himself. Hmm

That's so cute cinnamon. Grin I've been trying to get Orlaith to say mummy but she won't. She did say baby for the first time today and said it loads, but still no sign of mummy.

MammyG · 27/08/2011 21:23

cinnamon -your boys are scrumptious! And the dimples!!
Sassy - When you grow up with the whole attitude of just 'buck up and get on with it' 'no time for breakdown' you end up just doing that... getting on with it and not always giving much thought to how you manage to do that. I grew up with that and would never have thought that I was particularly special and in fact rarely thought about myself. Its only been the past two years with my parents health, death, children and especially my own ill health etc that I have realised how much I take for granted what I can do and handle. It does help to see yourself thru other peoples eyes ever now and then. Im def going to make more of an effort to consider myself. I have realised that I have a few good people in my life (mostly DH) but I take on so much sometimes it leaves them scot free. Im delegating more and having sometime for me!

Ok - am a bit worried now! Phoebe isnt crawling let alone standing, walking etc!! The boys were early crawlers and walked at 12 and 15 months. Should I worry!

Speaking of worry - Dont know if ye remember but when Phoebe was 3 days old we had to rush back to hospital with her when she stopped breathing (most horrific day of my life!) Im finding it really weird coming up to her birthday - I am excited about her turning one but have this underlying dread/apprehension coming up to the anniversary of her episode! Its a bit irrational and maybe its cause she was born the day after dads birthday but its a weird sick tummy feeling. I dont know maybe its all still a bit too raw. She is so precious scary to think of her being anything other than here and healthy. Im not used to being this superstitious either. Am I nuts?

cinnamongreyhound · 27/08/2011 21:46

Ds1 didn't crawl until a week before his birthday MammyG and I was worried but he got there in his own time. I think it's understandable to feel anxious about nearly loosing your baby. Sad/traumatic/life changing things stick with you and I have the odd heart stopping moments when I worry about my boys and nothing that serious has happened to us. It's a time to appreciate what you've got and try not to dwell on the negatives.

MorallyBankrupt · 27/08/2011 22:07

saoirse I have named changed and returned Grin

Clem has been taking a few steps for about a month, but today really toddler for a good while, it was so cute!

Got her first shoes this week, gorgeous little pink Clarks ones Grin

I'm so utterly in love with her right now, when I'm feeding her I find myself whispering inher year how much I love her and will she never leave home Blush

MorallyBankrupt · 27/08/2011 22:12

Toddled not toddler Blush

sassy34264 · 28/08/2011 08:42

cinnamon ive tried to look at the pics but for some reason it wont let me. it kept flashing on my phone and i had to close it down. Confused
but by the sounds of it, i would love them. im not a big fan of the sit there still and look right into the camera. i like the more natural ones. ive got a big canvas one of all 3 of them and chloe is lookking but neither of the babies are and its gorgeous.
saoirse glad you are having a fun time! it may be you making an announcement soon. Wink
a week ago or so, the babies made it obvious that they were ready for just the one nap, by flat out refusing to go to sleep for their afternoon nap. we left them and left them but in the end had to go and get them and bring them back down on two occasions. so now we put them down later for their first nap and let them sleep as long as they want and miss out there afternoon one.......its been brilliant. not only are they quick to go to sleep at night, they have started to get up later and later. before they would go to bed at 8pm and get up about 6.30. for the last 2 nights they have done 8pm-8am. only probably is with chloe starting school in 2 weeks time we will need to be up earlier than that! boo.

sassy34264 · 28/08/2011 08:44

problem not probably! still half asleep i think!

lumpylumps · 28/08/2011 18:32

Cinnamon The cakes were fab! Even if I do say so myself! The pics are on facebook! The party was fantastic too. I asked my friend who's in a bad if she had any disco type equipment & she rolled up with a full on disco! Her and her band mate put on the entertainment and it was all free! We all had a great time & both boys got some brilliant pressies!

MammyG I'd probably worry cos I worry about everything but I'm sure she's fine. They're all different. I know a baby older than Olly who doesn@t move yet. His older brother didn't either but he runs around like all the rest now. And besides why should she? She's got 2 older brothers to run after her!

Olly isn't walking yet but he's as fast as lightening with his zimmer frame walker. He lifts it up to turn corners & up & down steps!

Well, its an early night for me. I'm shattered. I was making sandwiches at 3.45am cos I couldn't sleep!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/08/2011 20:56

I saw them lumpylumps, they're lovely and your boys looked so smart for their party too!! I ordered the napkins, banner, table cloth etc for Luke's party today getting excited!!!

Luke dropped his second nap a while ago sassy34264 and he does have it a bit later but he often has 3hrs so hasn't made a difference to his waking up time :(

sassy34264 · 28/08/2011 23:09

total moan coming up!

i have had the worst pregnancy day ever. how can a singleton pregnancy be harder than a twin one? Confused
i cant walk, bend, lift, sit, lay down, get up. its driving me bonkers. its like tring to manoever a tank. i feel like im hulking myself about and the baby is never happy, in any position/situation. arghhhhhhh. im sure this baby weighs 2 stone now! i was thinking 38 weeks was enough to get to, but ive revised it to 36 after today. just want to get to the stage where it wont need scbu and then i want it out!!!!!! poor baby. i have just rubbed my belly and told it not to worry, i'll still love you.
glad you had a nice day/time banana

JodeyBogeyPicker · 29/08/2011 10:46

Morning ladies. Glad to read everyone is ok. sassy I don't envy you being pregnant with two toddlers to chase after too.

Well Harlyn has had his first proper bump. He banged his nose on a tree stump after losing his balanc. Pushing his trolley round his nana garden. His nose looks a mess and is a little swollen. I felt sick when I saw blood and felt like crying but managed to stay calm and hide my panic. Bloody typical it happens a week before his christening too! To make it worse, he has a really runny nose so now he hates me trying to wipe it mire than ever. It's such a worry knowing that this is the first of many bumps and cuts to come. Feel like wrapping him up in bubble wrap so no harm can come his way!

newmum001 · 29/08/2011 19:20

Sassy I really don't envy you either it must be so hard but just try to relax as much as possible and have ur mum look after the twins as much as she can so you can rest, I know it's easier said than done but that's what mums are for!

Jodey that must have been horrible, when grace popped her elbow I was a complete mess I couldn't take her in for her xrays or anything so well done for being brave!

Grace has got a rash again which I've just been assuming is a viral rash again but it's flared right up tonight and I've just remembered I ran out of the fairy softner so washed her clothes in a different kind and I think it's irritated her skin. Looks like I'm gonna have to carry on using fairy for her clothes! I'm going to take her to the drs tomorrow though just to be on the safe side! Preperations have started for the christening and I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed, there's soo much to do!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2011 07:26

sassy34264, not that I'm an expert but, I would say the reason this pregnancy is harder is that your body hadn't fully recovered from your twin pregnancy so you are starting from a weaker point physically. Not that it makes it's any easier and running around after 2 one year olds and worrying about a going-on-18-year-old will all be taking it's toll! Try to rest and if you find a comfortable position then just stay there Wink.

Sounds like it was horrible JodeyBogeyPicker, one thing I've never had to deal with! Ds1 always bashed his mouth which is very bloody and you do get used to it more. Babies heal quickly and I'm sure he'll be back to his gorgeous self before his christening Grin. Luke hit his head on the table on Sunday, just to far to grab it when he fell but close enough to smack his head. He screamed more with the cold compress than actually doing it and it's just a brown patch already.

My friends little boy was the same with washing powder newmum001, he's 4 now and if she changes anything he still gets a rash! Don't stress over the christening I'm sure it will al go smoothly!

Dh is back to work today and we are going to oasis camel centre with my mum. Luke has emptied most of my bedside drawer while I'm laying in bed and dss and ds1 had a sleepover at my mums and are meeting us there. We saw cowboys and aliens last night and I highly recommend it, a bit of a weird story but a really good film. Keep your fingers crossed for me we manage to have one day of my fortnight off without rain!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 30/08/2011 08:41

Oh bless her. Harlyns keeps getting a little rash on the side of his face. It always seems to flare up after he's been outside in the garden. He's got such a snotty nose at the mo and a chesty cough. It's been on and off for two wks. May take him to the dr tomorrow just to be on safe side. He also had one spot on his back today so hoping it's not the start of CP!
