Could be wiggles yet, then... ;)

ledkr · 13/07/2011 20:06

Oh my god can i share? Have just had the few hours from hell.
Ill try to keep it brief.
Took girls for tea in town as dh off and Ella had dancing at 5.30.all very idealic.or so i thought.
After that dh went to collect the car from garage-£600 Shock then cam e to get me from town where i was buying babygros and socks but had no money cos had left bag in dancing.
Dh couldnt call me cos phone in bag.
Eventually get home with 1 hr to go before pick up Ella,im off to see Nan in hosp whilst dh gets dilly to bed and then i get ells after vist.
Get home and keys left in door on inside so cant get in.
Cue 1 hr of dh trying to break in before we realise that ds 3 has a spare key to the back door wayhey.Couldnt contact him or gf,all the time Dilly is screaming cos tired.Eventually got Ella then drove miles to get spare key from dil who was staying at her grans.
I ma sooooooooooo stressed,dh sorting dilly whilst i drink tea and tell you lot then its sofa and apprentice for us.
Just a normal ledkr day really.

ponyo Grin at your reasoning with pils you wicked woman.

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 20:17

ledkr Wine, here have Wine Wine

janedoe25 · 13/07/2011 20:22

ooft what a day yo had ledkr, think i would be swapping that tea for vodka!

Grin at the girls "clinking" wiggles

ohh so many contenders for the next baby, come one of you join me, you know you want to! Grin

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 20:30

Ugh ledkr what a stress of a day, its just everything at once isn't it?! Hope Dils settles quickly and you get a nice chilled evening. Ps glad you Grin at my PIL comments, I feel like a bitch but can't help it Grin

Don't know why everyone thinks it'll be me with next baby when its obviously going to be wiggles! Oh and you all made me realise I've not taken my pill since monday, eek!

reastie I'll have you know 40 started the next baby convo Grin and I hope theres not surprise news for you soon! Have you got your baby stuff yet?

Just a quick rant about babies sleeping - I spent 20mins trying to get dd to settle TWICE today and both times gave in and let her sleep on me. I know 20 mins isn;t that long now, but at the time it felt like forever and she was bawling. Was it american who said that their baby wouldn't settle for an hour? Shock Any advice/tips appreciated, I love having her sleep on me to be honest but don't want it to become a habit.

Right got to go and tidy house as my mum is coming tomo yay!

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 20:31

Grin jane don't tempt me!

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 20:32

Ah jane knew I'd find you here on Wed night [embracing fellow Apprentice hater] Grin.

I know, am tempted to pilfer some of the girls money and splash out and buy some magazines put it in the poor box Grin Think I may have a Haribo shaped treat in Poundland tomorrow!!

reastie · 13/07/2011 20:50

ledkr what a shocker of a day. I did Shock Confused at your story but I admit I did smile a little at your dh, a policeman, trying to break into a car unsucessfully Wink

ponyo clothes collected - FOUR bin bags full Grin Grin Grin . Just sifting through them and washing them and seeing what can be used for A and what can be given to needto (who I'm hoping to meet up with soon) . I was going to offer some money for them but only had £5 in my purse and felt that was a bit insulting for so much stuff, so am hoping to buy something tomorrow and drop it in to them. Any ideas for what to get? I was thinking flowers but then she has a 2 week old dd so not sure if she'll be inundated with flowery bits already. Not sure what else to get that would be appreciated and easy to get in my local smallish town. Someone here must have a good idea??? Please???

jane you're still alive after eating the chicken then? Grin

janedoe25 · 13/07/2011 20:56

Yip alive and kicking! No idea what you could hand in for the clothes reaste Pass on my regards to needto

wiggles right on time eh? DF is away again so i have control of the tv, but nothing is catching me.

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 21:05

jane I know, I'm sure there's a million other things I could be doing, but dipping in and out of MN and trying not to listen to the excruciating nonsense spouted by the Apprentici has become addictive Grin. I dislike them all!!

reastie Do you feel comfortable getting her a gift card from Tesco/ Sainsburys/M&S? I would usually suggest getting her something for the baby, but if she's getting rid of stuff, maybe not. I'm not a flowers type of person

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 21:06

Ooh yes hello needto are you local too then? Where abouts do you live reastie ? what about some bubble bath in exchange for the clothes?

Dh loves Apprentice so we are watching but he has cracked open the chocolate orange so not entirely sufferable .....

OP posts:
reastie · 13/07/2011 21:15

wiggles this is going to sound classist but I don't think she was a tesco/sainsburys type of person m&s might work but if she's got a 2 week old then will she get much chance to enjoy getting something? Hmm Maybe a posh box of chocs? There's a jojo maman bebe in my local town that I've never been in - does anyone know if they sell useful gifty things?

40 needto not that close. All that I will say is I'm quite close to a previously mentioned garden centre Grin

I'm watching the apprentice and shamelessly love it

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 21:22

reastie Oh God if she was that posh, I'd be going down the Iceland / Lidl route Grin

40Weeks Mr W lives for the Apprentice Shock but hates chocolate orange, seriously he has a really sweet tooth, but can't stand them. Meant to ask, apologies if you've already said - how was Sports Day?

reastie · 13/07/2011 21:29

can you get poundland vouchers wiggles ? Grin Wink

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 21:40

Oooh reastie look at you all coy, near Polhill? It's ok, I am not stalking - just curious as I know you're nearby.

Now wiggles I previously had a bit of a cyber crush on heroic Mr W, mainly based on the fact he is the only dp who doesn't get a proper slagging on here. And he cleverly identified me on breakfast tv. But if he doesn't like choc orange you are going to have to break it to him very gently that I just don't think it will work. It's not him, is me....

Sports day was hilarious....they had someone on the other side of the finishing line with a bumper size box of Haribo to get them all going in the right direction and over the line. Great day

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 21:46

Also reastie on a scale of 1-10 how awful was was the coil fitting? Have you had AF yet then?

OP posts:
ledkr · 13/07/2011 21:58

How about a nice set of baby toiletries or a little outfit, there are some fab sales on.
It was mi casa i was locked out of btw not my car.
I had 22 months between ds1 and 2 and then another 4 till ds3 it was hard but fun,the two older ones resented the baby and referred to him as the blonde poof for years, poor bugger. They are close now and good to me too but im glad they dont live here anymore, too messy and loud.
So long still till break up,im really tired atm,not sure why,we need a holiday but no flying due to Dillys cleft so thinking of cornwall, any god suggestions for a cheapish place in august.

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 22:00

40Weeks Grin but he makes great tea! oh and French Toast, but he does have piss poor taste in tv and chocolate.

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 22:01

Meant to ask ledkr how were their keys left inside lock? Need I ask? Nightmare day though

OP posts:
reastie · 13/07/2011 22:01

40 It wasn't that bad Confused and they say the more babies/vaginal births you have the easier it is (so you'll be well away Grin ). i'd say the painful bit lasted no more than 5 minutes and prob more like 3 mins. For me it was a gritted teeth hands over eyes type of feeling for those few minutes but apparently the way my cervix is made it tricker than normal Hmm . There was a nurse in there with the doctor who said I could hold her hand while having it done if i wanted Blush . Then I got perdiody cramps for a few days and still getting them on and off but touchwood nothing a bit of nurofen doesn't help. No af yet though so no idea how traumatic that will be. I could feel the coil initially (despite being told I shouldn't) but now only sometimes I get this odd feeling when I notice the strings inside which sort of feel a bit wirey Hmm . Will await AF before I officially recommend it to anyone but if I can go through it then you can Wink . But, it is just a few minutes pain for hopefully ten years contraception Grin

ledkr · 13/07/2011 22:01

btw its kids free in the west end from 12th of august if anyone wants to treat the dc's,you book thru ticket master,me and els are seeing mama mia of course.

reastie · 13/07/2011 22:02

ledkr cheap place in cornwall in august?

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 22:02

Sorry, appalling grammar

OP posts:
reastie · 13/07/2011 22:03

If you're doing self catering ledkr we go through a company called helpful holidays (google them). They specialise in west country and we've had a number of really nice hol homes through them

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 22:18

reastie could you just get her nice (posh) box of choccies and toileteries set? 4 bags though, fab :)

ledkr I;m pretty sure cornwall will be expensive all thru august, his is a bit random and not near cornwall but dp and I love a place called hay on wye (wales) its lovely lots of book shops and places for pottering, or if you wanted the sea south wales is nice? Grin at blond poof that made me laugh.

40 my dp has a choc orange obsession at the mo, we have a B&M over the road so whenever I go I get him a 3 pack for 99p Grin

Does no one have any advice on dd's refusing to sleep in the day I don't think I can face it again tomo!
