I 'can' take codeine according to the NHS, who mum called for me, but they advise not as some goes into milk.

I wouldn't mind the partialtially impacted one has been living happily half under the gum for 6 years or so. The tooth is fine, but now it decides to move and get an infection.

reastie · 13/07/2011 09:36

yes tarlia that sounds similar as I got infections every time the tooth tried to push out

ponyo Shock are you serious? Have you forgotten the horrific pg where I was signed off work for practically the duration?! I'll take another baby but pass on the pg Wink . Plus, I now have a coil which works for a whole 10 years, so as long as that's in place hopefully no more baby reasties Grin . I was going to say ledkr Grin but thought she might wallop me so my bet is maybe choc or ponyo but I wouldn't rule out wiggles or 40 to have another Wink

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 10:11

No more for me! Not unless I win lotto and have a house keeper and nanny!

Tarlia where are you again? I know in Spain I used to get my sis (who lived there) to buy their over the counter meds and post them as they were stronger, I think the ibuprofen was 600mg - know anyone in Spain?

Oh and my money is on Ponyo!

Four4me · 13/07/2011 10:13

tarlia I have taken so much for the pain over the last few weeks, paracetamol, co-codamol and ibuprofen plus two courses of ab's. There is no way I could have managed without it all. Dh has been away and I've had no help with the children. I felt like crawling into bed, but not been possible! They put some brown fibre stuff into the hole a few times that has a local anaesthetic and antiseptic effect that I found helped a bit. Don't know what it was called. It did come out, but I just nipped back every day or so to have some more put in. I have got to know them all well at my dentists. Grin I have carried on feeding Archie and he has been fine. I think that he was more at risk if I didn't take anything. I felt almost deranged with pain one night. Take care.

I guess I'm lucky with his feeding. I think he gets such a lot at each feed that he lasts a while till the next one. I think he knows he has to make the most of each feed while he can before he gets plonked on the baby gym whilst I run around after the other three! He feeds at 7.45, 11.30ish, (sometimes a snackette at 14.30), 16.00 then last feed between 19.00 and 20.00. Get me with 24 hour clock!!!

Got to go Tesco's are here!

Tarlia · 13/07/2011 10:19

Sorry ponyo missed your post! Thank you! Good luck with the weigh-in.

restie no more ever?

40 I have some prescription 600mg (can take two!) sat on my shelf from pre-preg as I have a joint condition, but they said max 400mg 3 times a day whilst breast feeding, NHS direct said the same strength.

Never mind, soup all the way for a while. Anyone got links for nice recipes?

Four4me · 13/07/2011 10:23

Oh and tarlia I used ice packs and salt/water gargles. Can you tell I have been traumatised by it all. I am more scarred mentally by a tooth infection than four vaginal births! Arrrrr

Tarlia · 13/07/2011 10:24

Cross posted - 44me well in that case I may go to the pharmacy and see if they sell codeine here! But didn't you get dry socket too? Nightmare, mine isn't that bad! Was it cloves? He packed mine with gauze soaked in clove oil.

ledkr · 13/07/2011 10:40

The best pain killers i have ever had ar syndol, excellent but not sure about the bf. I have had that dry socket before, it was the most pain ive ever had,the packing did help tho,i ended up having iv anti b's as a day case in hospital,i so hate teeth.
Well dh is off so i am having a mn bath.and coffee, car is in the garage so i will be doing abit of house work today so we can enjoy the next few days. Pils coming Sat (not friday at my insistance) they will be leaving early Sun to see the other 2 sibs who live by them and they see daily, before they go on holiday.Dont get me wrong,im glad but you'd think they'd want longer with Dilly wouldnt you? They are such knobs,i wonder how they will manage to irritate me in that short space of time.

americanexpat · 13/07/2011 10:46

Which of us is the lucky Euromillions winner? Not me, I'm just a £2.90-aire. Grin

granny - We have a Chicco Jazzy, folds/unfolds really easily but pretty no-frills.

Tarlia - I was given co-codamol after the birth so surely it must be OK while breastfeeding?

44me - Envy at the feeding schedule. L feeds 3 times at night alone.

tadjennyp - Target, how I miss it. [wistful emoticon] Nothing here quite compares.

L has been a nightmare lately, really tired but not wanting to sleep. Yesterday and today he cried for over an hour before his morning nap, could barely keep his eyes open but really OTT crying. I wonder if he may be teething? He was chewing on la giraffe yesterday with a squeak-squeak-squeak with every bite. Grin

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 10:53

Ah reastie I could never keep up with pre-baby thread so didn't know you had such a tough pregnancy - boo!

40weeks I was going to nominate myself Grin but the thought of the first few weeks is still putting me off (though it is a fading memory now...hmm) Also I keep thinking I'll be better prepared this time and know what to expect Hmm I'm going to nominate byronic too then.

All this talk of painful teeth is making me cringe, am v lucky I've not had anything like that.

ledkr good luck in advance for PIL, thats a bit weird about leaving early to see family they see every day isn't it Confused Can I confess something quite bad - you know how you said you remember they are dh's family (so important to him) when they're being annoying, well my dp is adopted so I try to think like that but sometimes just think fuck it, they're not related Blush Feel mean saying it but can't help it sometimes

janedoe25 · 13/07/2011 11:27

ponyo my bet is on you!

tarlia really hope your mouth is better soon.

ledkr how funny dilly taking the piss out of daddy already!

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 11:38

Got over my panic/rant last night, thanks for listening xx, not that you had much bloody choice Grin

Count me out of the next round of babies; feel very blessed with my 3, I would have sworn after A that I'd love another one, but now I feel very content, just shows you how screwy hormones can be and why those "contraception chats" straight after birth mightn't be such a bad thing!!

Took girls to Poundland this morning, Sofias' "tooth money" was burning a hole in her pocket Grin, they got the greatest load of tat, it was fab. But what they seem most happy with is the iron and cooking utensils Shock, well I suppose they're practically a novelty to them, not like they are going to see and copy me using them!

talia Hope pain starts to ease, agree with Four4me and everyone else -no pain like it, take care.

ponyo well done with A sleeping, we are nowhere near that yet, good luck with the weighing, I haven't had Anna weighed in about 3 months Blush

chocoroo · 13/07/2011 12:40

Morning!

Well, DD has decided to shift her get up time by an hour, I'm blaming the GP's after their babysitting last week. I know it's only 7am but it makes the day so much longer for me.

wiggles I love Poundland but have a special place in my heart for Home bargains. I popped over to the suburb where we lived pre-baby and bought some crap earlier. Well, mainly household stuff but also some of those interlocking soft foam tile things for R to roll around floor on. Only £2.99!

Tarlia Ugh to dental pain. Like 4For I think the worst pain ever was dental pain. Actually, I'm wrong. My dental pain lasted less time than my labour but it was comparable Wink

Ponyo I'm also going to guess you or Byronic. Reastie clearly missed my birth story when she guessed me - a quick recap...4 day back labour, 2 days on labour ward, 3 shots of pethidine, 2 hours sleep total, 1 day in delivery suite, 1 hour pushing, keytotic, EMCS. And three more days on ward just to take me to a full week of trauma! No more for me for a good while yet!

American I'm not the winner either. Am holding out hope that it's one of my friends!

ledkr Oooh, I'm looking forward to PIL stories already!

Right. Will curse it by mentioning it but DD is upstairs asleep alone for the 3rd time this week. Haven't managed to get her into cot but she's on our bee holding on to her cuddly Roo. Very cute. Long may it last as I have a date with Pacey Witter :)

MizK · 13/07/2011 13:36

Ouch tarlia hope it gets better soon, sounds so horrid.

jane the poem was beautiful. I know you miss Zoe so much and always will, I hope we can help in some small way. There was an article in Grazia a couple of weeks ago showing lots of women with lovely baby bumps who had then sadly lost their babies at birth and it broke my heart, you have opened my eyes to what a tragedy it is and you are coping so well.

choco can't believe you watch Dawson's Creek- takes me way back to Sunday mornings ogling Pacey! I then replaced it with the OC and Seth Cohen (drooooooool!)

wiggles cant beat Poundland for children with pennies to spend - my daughter will happily squander a weeks pocket money in there at a time. Have to steer clear at the min tho as they always have loads of chocolate tempting me!

ledkr make sure you have plenty of wine stashed to deal with them (actually if you're on WW more like vodka and diet coke he he!)

Talk of more babies very sweet but def rule me out - three is PLENTY- especially with school hols coming soon (I may leave home for 6 weeks.)

Cassia is napping in her cot while I tidy up with Mad Men on in the background (on some hookey internet site, wiggles and ledkr don't grass me up to your DHs!). She took such a shine to a little boy at baby group today but he was playing hard to get and blanking her....was adorable to see her smiling and squawking at him!

BTW the mesh feeder is such a mixed blessing - Cassia loves it but she gets absolutely coated in gunky banana drool....euw.... cleaning it out made me almost retch!

reastie · 13/07/2011 13:59

choc I know so many people who have really traumatic births and say never again and then a couple of months down the line they are Hmm thinking about another Shock Wink . But completely understand the Confused . ponyo since lots of us think you're the next one AND since you started the convo is there something you're not telling us Wink ?

wiggles how are you feeling now about things/life in general? hope poundland cheered you dds up

ledkr deep breaths for this week end

mizk Grin to the hard to get games this early on

americanexpat · 13/07/2011 14:20

wiggles - meant to ask, why can't you tell the girls what Mr. wiggles does? Is it because they're, ahem, a bit indiscreet? I like reastie's idea of telling people he's a stripper. Grin Are breakaway trousers part of the kit these days?

L has been sleeping 3.5 hours now (woke once to feed). Should I let him keep going? He usually sleeps 2-3 hours but resists a late nap, meaning he's overly tired by bedtime. I'm wondering if he sleeps longer, the late nap might not matter so much? I'll try anything at this point to get him to sleep better at night. Confused

MizK - you've just talked me out of the mesh feeder. Just reading about the banana made me boak.

americanexpat · 13/07/2011 14:31

He woke as soon as I posted. Of course.

reastie · 13/07/2011 14:47

american I think I've been watching too many friends reruns Grin

bored here as 10 mins before I have to get alice up to feed her before collecting all the free baby clothes Grin . Can't contain my excitement so just wasting time by dusting, cleaning, hoovering, polishing and mning Grin wonder if DH will notice all the hard work I've done down stairs today Hmm . It would be so nice for him to do a genuine compliment. Given up on getting any on myself so try and make the house nice in the hope I get one on being a good housewife but that seems to go unoticed too Confused

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 15:04

reastie I am sure he appreciates it but subliminally, like my dh [hwink]

I do often wonder why I bother, so sometimes I don't in the vain hope that when I do, he realizes what goes into keeping the house nice with two preschoolers and a baby!

OP posts:
debka · 13/07/2011 15:12

reastie I hope your DH does say something nice, you deserve it. :)

My bet is on byron moving to Germany or the UK and getting pg there.

choc are the birth memories fading at all? How depressing to go through all that and have a cs at the end. Why can't they predict when it'll go badly and just do one at the start? My sil had a emcs after a bit of bleeding Shock, that was it!

Now have a permanent picture of Mr W as a stripper policeman Grin wish I lived in Ireland Grin. BTW which city are you near wiggles?

S was up THREE TIMES again last night, proper feeding as well, then up for the day at 6. Yawn yawn yawn.

Grannyapple · 13/07/2011 15:18

Afternoon ladies. Nate was a wee bugger & woke at 4am last night...I left him til 5 & he was still awake...he then downed a 6oz bottle...hoping it was a one off!! Have been trying to get house cleaned & tidied today but so far only managed to clean 1 bathroom...not v successful!

Cheers for the high chair pointers...off to Ikea on fri with another mum friend so we can look at the Ikea one in their cafe!

Re: next lot of babies....my sex drive has returned with avengeance!! Practically jumped dh this morning as he was going into work late anyway today...he went off to work well happy Grin. but think we'll prob start trying again next summer...need to get the wedding of the year out of the way first & don't fancy doing that sober, lol!

Sorry to hear of tooth pain...totally agree on it being the worst kind of pain!!

Right am procrastinating again...must go try to get some cleaning feckin done!

ledkr · 13/07/2011 15:39

American i thought the same,i nearly throw up when i empty the food caddy ugh! I love the way you know the correct term for stripper trousers too Grin Mr L wears cardboard combats and let me remind you when i met him i had 3 teenage tearaways boys who had their fair share of pirate dvds etc,

byronicheroine · 13/07/2011 15:55

Ok ok, my money too would be on you, ponyo so back at ya! However..... DP and I had secret talks about having "Irish twins" (siblings born within a year) but my midwife said something about enjoying the first one first, and I'm just so not ready! Also, we just couldn't afford it here, and are looking to move which will be difficult enough with just us.
granny I'm with you then, thinking about this time next year!! See you on the anti-natal thread then :) or we could just moan share here
deb you probably win, then, as DP has an interview for a job in Switzerland. I'm so hoping he'll get it, that would be so good for us (and the TTC....!!). Will keep you all posted

wigglesrock · 13/07/2011 19:21

Hi, had lovely day here, after the thrill of Poundland, we went up to my aunts for a BBQ (bank holiday here), it was yummy, the girls were great, infact I hardly saw them. My aunt had lots of friends round, so the girls came home clinking Grin with coins not bottles of beer, although considering this is the aunt that bought Anna an ashtray you never know, so off to Poundland again tomorrow Grin.

americanexpat they wouldn't understand that they couldn't tell anyone else, so just going to leave it until we decide what to do, debka we are near Belfast.

byronicheroine I know loads of Irish twins, obviously Grin, my mum is one and Sofias best friend is one. Everyone I know thinks I left quite a long gap between the girls there's 2.4 years between Sofia & Olivia and 3.5 years between Olivia and Anna. I think it depends how many kids you'd like, had I found it easier to get pregnant with Sofia, I think I'd have liked 2 close together, a break then another 2 very close. I am aware that makes 4 but as I said earlier I'm done, I think Grin
