Does anyonbe else baby make a sort of grunty moaning sound a bit like blakey from on the buses?

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 09:29

ledkr A is still doing her high pitched Gremlin squeal but also a lot of singing to herself Grin If you lift her and say hug, she's stick her arms to your neck but only if she's in the mood and to be honest I think she may be doing it to get a better grip on my hair [ouch]

NeedToSleep count me in, great idea Grin, enjoy today.

jane walking like John Wayne yet Wink

PussInConverse · 01/08/2011 10:18

morning all

up for the shred challenge jane (although I may have to lie about doing it and just donate some cash instead! lazy arse)

cler yep, am on FB. If anyone wants to be my friend (! am I seven yrs old?!), PM me your name or email, and will add.

ledkr The fred west case fascinates me - I grew up in the village where he buried some victims, and used to play with his niece sometimes... who lived with his dad!! a macabre claim to fame.

choc I heart mcnulty. I can't decide, so would go for both him and stringa to keep me busy Wink

needto I'm lurking on your awesome aibu thread.

for those who asked, my stitches healed well, but were done in the wrong place. It's not as bad as what some go through, but can't believe I need anything doing. J is my pfb, so I thought it was a case of push her our, hard bit done. Ironically, her birth was (relatively) easy, no pain relief and quick. It's the after birth time that's putting me off doing it again! Bloody surgeon.

Still no rolling here. I know she'll start the second I leave her somewhere hazardous. Lots of high-pitched squeals and screams, and food! She's loving it, especially toast. She's 26 weeks (ish), and 19lb. Still no sleeping through. The babies I know in RL all seem to be doing it, so I find this thread v reassuring.

Have a good day y'all.

ledkr · 01/08/2011 13:22

wiggles dilly also pulled hair, and pinches faces/noses.She is constantly saying mamamamam too.
She is feedg so well depite being a bit off-no naps and lots of tears-she ate some fresh taglatelle whicj is great cos you can jut pull it out when she gags, also some rice and baby wotsits then some water melon and an ice cream cone Grin lucky i have those bibs that are more like industrial overalls.
puss no cheating do the shred. Did you live in much marcle?I fucking hate them both,i cant say too much but we went into hiding a the press found us everywhere we went, very interesting working with the younger kids who were fairly unscathed Shock
i started a thread about only female cops getting flexi hrs whilst dh and others work all the crap,i was told dh was a coward for not asking and saw childcare as a womans concern,i was also po faced-me?it was in chat too Hmm i had to tell em to feck off in the end, told em to piss off to aibu if they wanted a row-wierd lot.

ILovePonyo · 01/08/2011 14:30

Lovely photos reastie, she does have beautiful blue eyes. Dd's are brown like dp's which I love as mine are greeny blue and you always want what you don't have (or I do Grin)

NeedTo fab idea about sponsored shred but agree about waiting til cooler weather, I am all shiny faced all the time at the mo Angry I've also been lurking on your aibu thread btw, makes good reading!

Pussin Shock at your stiches being in the wrong place - for gods sake what was the surgeon thinking?!

ledkr very cute about the "kiss" D did, dp always says "feet?" to dd in the bath and she usually lifts a foot out so he can grab it. Shes usually thrashing her feet about amyway but its still cute Grin

mn can be a bit weird sometimes, I had to hide a thread where someone was saying they would only tell their child about their cultural heritage if they asked about it Hmm I said they should offer the information anyway as kids might not ask, esp if they're adopted/fostered (like dp was) my very clever comments got ignored Wink and people were just banging away sounding selfish/ignorant tbh. Thats where the hide button is useful Grin

Oh reastie and emski I say my tattoist but only because she's done my most recent tattoo - started it before I was pregnant and only got it finished recently Shock Its a big'un of a bird and flowers on my arm, I think mn is judgey about tattoos too?! Will be getting one for dd soon tho, double Shock Wink

Right better go, am off to buy dd some organix wotsit things soon, exciting!

janedoe25 · 01/08/2011 14:44

ponyo your tatto sounds fab! I have one for Zoe on my left wrist, i have her name and a butterlfy. i want to extend it with a star trail with one bright star in the middle. Think i will do that on her birthday.

ledkr D sounds so cute (as do all the babies)

WanderingSheep · 01/08/2011 14:53

Hi everyone! Long time no see Smile

Hope you're all OK and all the babies are being good Wink

I haven't had chance to read the thread and it looks like I've almost missed a whole thread with all the messages there are Sad Can anyone tell me what I've missed?

We're all good here, Lottie is a dream and Isabel is being good - she's finished Preschool now and is on her seven weeks holiday before she goes up to Primary (she's one of the youngest so will start a bit later, which is why she has seven weeks) One week down, six to go!!!

ledkr · 01/08/2011 15:08

Hi wandering,we are all hot and planning a sponsored shred for our Zoe.
Jane has been shagging for England and Puss has not Grin
The babies are all doing much better at night apart from the odd blip a couple of naughty ones are hanging onto their night feeds and weaning is going mostly well with the odd exception and we are keeping organix in business with out giant wotsit obsession and we are in competition to see who can be the worst Mummy, the babies have so far had alcohol, prawn crackers,watsits-the orange non organic ones- and ice cream cones.Mentioning no names.

My Dilly isnt right today, ate food but wont drink milk, short naps and lots of crying Confused i rsng dh earlier and had a big rant,i feel all guilty now and childish, bothering him at work.

ponyo i had my tongue and belly button pierced but all gone now,i used to go out with a bloke who was covered it tats,i liked him cos it annoyed my Mum and he had a pierced tongue Grin Blush

knittakid · 01/08/2011 15:41

the rundown of ledkr was good for me also, thanks wandering!

Jane, 5 times??? Shock well done you! i can still ask, what is dtd?

Where is justonemoreplease? I know you must have a new name, but can't figure out which one!

Good news for me, next Monday I'm going for my first counselling session. I've been waiting for it for ages, but now that it's round the corner I'm not sure what will i say...

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 15:47

ponyo never mind tattooing Anya, Mumsnet wouldn't care, just as long as you don't pierce her ears Wink

Ledkr Anna had a Skip crisp today, she lurved it Grin Away to nosy at your thread.

Took girls to forest park today, had a mammoth walk around the lake, poor O, she won't walk the length of herself, had a bit of a rude awakening when she asked me to carry her, her solution was to ask me to carry Anna and push her in Annas' buggy Shock

WanderingSheep hello Smile

ledkr · 01/08/2011 16:00

dont tell me what other crap they have posted cos i hid it cos was winding me up.grr poor dill, she is just led on me all sad,i wonder whats up.

Been looking at sea side houses to buy,so nice,dh just needs a transfer.
Chelt is so highly priced that sea front property seems reasonable!!

tadjennyp · 01/08/2011 17:22

Hello all. Had a busy weekend so have just been lurking. Didn't justonemoreplease become fourforme? Dtd is doing the deed. Not much of that going on round here as Sammy still with us for the forseeable future. Did make the most of A and E being at a party a couple of weeks ago though! Blush Five times though Jane, well done!

Had a big tech fail at the weekend as was trying to upload some photos. I think they are too big. Will try again when I get a minute. Might have a job teaching French for the rest of the week, depending on whether the parents mind me having S with me. Will have to try and time his bfs to their breaks. Wish me luck!

reastie · 01/08/2011 18:07

ledkr if you had a seaside house we'd all come over for holidays - you'd never get rid of us Grin

yes tad - knitta justonemore is now four4me

tad gl with bfing in breaks - let us know how it goes.

I'm up for sponsored for zoe but I can't do the shred [coward] with my bad back. I could do something else physical and hard work though Hmm

Good news today - I;ve got a place on the NHS funded weight loss scheme which seems to be like a free version of ww meetings, it includes a half hour excercise class too Confused Grin . The course is only for fatties though so don't all get excited Wink . It starts in september.

Also, I managed to do 'it' in john lewis cafe today all on my own and facing everyone in the cafe wedged between an old couple and a family with boys old enough to stare Wink [proud] . It's taken me 5 months to get this far Blush

ponyo and jane am Grin to this tattoo talk

ledkr how is the dillster now?

ledkr · 01/08/2011 19:04

reastie yes you could invite yourselves down at inoppotune moments and expect food and long leisurly showers and massive breakfasts Grin I liked a nice 4 bed and had already decided to rent it out for b and b to avoid pils taking root.
Dilly is still not right,i took her temp much to her disgust lots of wriggling anf flapping,i used an ear one and a strip they both annoyed her,its a tad raised so has had calpol, she seems ok then just screams for a bit but randomly-sp?
My friend took her for a walk so i could hoover and when she came back she was eating a milky bar Shock shes been quite cuddly too which is so unlike her,i watched sex in the city 2 and she just snuggled the whole time.
Dh is just bathing her and i expect she will be glad to get to bed.

I posted about this but got no replies but does anyone find the muslins are still smelly when washed,i think its cos i am using non bio,im going to get some bio tomorrow cos its better for the bibs.

ledkr · 01/08/2011 19:07

haha nhs ww,i wonder if it will be a skanky cheap version with no glossy brochures and just a crappy leaflet that says "eat salad not chocolate" and the excercise class will be a woman like a Victoria Wood/Julie Walters character in a vibrant shell suit and m and s trainers,

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 19:21

ledkr some of my muslins get quite whiffy even when washed, I don't use non bio Blush I thought it was just me. I think its the formula but I don't remember it happening before Hmm Hope Dilly is alright, we're a bit grumpy here too, but Anna's already in bed in great form Grin

No-one else was weird on your thread, well done on what you said to the poster, you were very classy. I have had a quick chat with Mr W, have full sympathy with you and dh and the "macho culture". He knows a few women who work differing shifts but no men, although according to him you really have to jump through hoops to get it and its reviewed every couple of months.

reastie I know someone who did a fitness plan via NHS, she got initial sessions with a personal trainer, they came up with a fitness plan, went over all the gym equipment etc, then used to have review sessions, it was quite swanky, put it like this you couldn't afford it if you were paying Grin

ILovePonyo · 01/08/2011 19:37

Yay ledkr the organix wotsits were a great recommendation! She loved having them in her grubby little hand and chewing away, also gave some big tomato quarters (without the seeds) and she chewed away on those too. Think she much prefers being able to feed herself than have food off a spoon. I've found dd's bibs are bit stinky even after washing, will try some bio powder myself too, didn't think of that. Hope D is better, do you think he teeth might be giving her some trouble?

reastie congrats on doing "it" in JL and Grin at the love bite. NHS thingy sounds fab although I did imagine it to be more like how ledkr described than wiggles!

knitta pleased you've got date for first couns session, good luck for it :)

wiggles Grin at the pierced ears - I had my tongue pierced by very unsuitable older boyfriends cousin when I was 17, my mum went mental and made me eat proper food despite the pain. When my younger sis got hers done at 17 my mum made her soup and got her ice cream Grin

My mum also asked me if I would let A get a tattoo when she's older, without thinking I said 'ooh no cos she's my little perfect baby with lovely skin' and my mum just looked at me like Hmm Slightly hypocritical of me there.

jane think your tattoo for Z sounds lovely, definitely get it added to.

Hi wandering glad you're well, pretty good update from ledkr there no? Grin

dd has just gone to bed without her last bottle as she fell asleep and there was no way of feeding her, she was spark out. Am considering trying her again in an hour or so, is that stupid?! Confused Hopefully like a dream feed but never done one before...

debka · 01/08/2011 19:55

I'm getting rubbish at keeping up, busy busy in RL and on this thread!

jane 5x you lucky mare Grin

Grin at tattoos, did you know that every 2nd person in the USA has a tattoo?? Shock

ledkr I don't use non-bio, it does f-all IMO, I use the full fat stuff! Hope Dills is ok and she has a good old sleep.

reastie well done on public nudity bfing! I wouldn't have done that with Imy, I think you're brave. With S I get them out anywhere and everywhere! Am a little Envy at your NHS doo dah, how did you get the place?

S has cut back on the food now, eating about half what she was, and yesterday she slept for England, and today she feels like she's gained about 1lb overnight. She finally fits in her 3-6mo clothes! Today she had yoghurt and mashed pear for breakfast, mashed potato, carrot and mango for lunch, and weetabix and banana for tea. She is STILL waking and feeding 2 or 3x a night, I wish she'd combine them all into one feed.

My mum has finished her chemo and there is no active cancer in her body at all!! Brilliant news for us all, although because it's secondary cancer she will continue to have treatment and scans etc because it's only a matter of time before it springs up again.

janedoe25 · 01/08/2011 20:12

Just popping on for a minute, debka that is brilliant news about your mum!

reastie well done on doing it in JL Grin How did you get the weight loss programme? I could be doing with that! I have taken to comfort eating and can't seem to stop Blush

ledkr hope dilly is ok?

WanderingSheep · 01/08/2011 20:14

Thanks for the update Ledkr Grin

Sponsored shred? When? What? Where? How do I get involved?

Nice to 'see' you back Knitta hope you and Pablo are well (and the DH of course)

Debka that sounds fantastic about your mum not having any active cancer, I hope she stays well

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 20:15

debka brilliant news about your Mum, my Nana had a double mastectomy thirty years ago, she's had secondary cancers and has beaten every single one, she gets scans every few months - she puts her good health down to a diet of sherry and cigs Grin Really good news, you must all be so relieved and exhausted all that stress and worry can really wear you down xx

Ponyo I don't have any tattoos, more a couldn't be arsedness than anything else Grin I had my ears pierced when I was 8, the above mentioned Nana took each of us around our 8th birthday and got her beautician to do it, then took us for a bun, it was before McDonalds, yes I am that old Grin. I dream feed Anna, its usually really quick.

reastie meant to ask did you get Alice weighed?

tadjennyp good luck with job, my bil (the nice one) sent over a parcel for the girls full of Old Navy goodies and they were actually the right size Shock

WanderingSheep · 01/08/2011 20:20

I think DD1 is going to start asking to have her ears pierced soon, she's like a magpie for anything sparkly! I keep wondering when I should let her and when MN would think it acceptable Grin

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 20:26

WanderingSheep MN will think its acceptable when she can get a typed out letter from a solicitor asserting that she fully understands the implications and is willing to undertake any cleaning issues Grin Sofia has mentioned it this year, but will probably wait until next. My problem is that when she gets it done, Olivia will probably demand politely request the same. There are 8 girls in Sofias primary school class and about half have it done, I don't have any issues with it at all [shrug].

WanderingSheep · 01/08/2011 20:35

I had mine done when I was about 6 but they healed up and I didn't bother again until I was 21 Grin

Does anyone else think of MN when they are making certain parenting decisions in a, "what would MN think?" sort of way, or is it just me? Hmm

I saw a guy with a tattoo on his arm saying "LILLY-MAY" the other day and I thought, "MN would have a field day" as they always seem to slag off hyphenated names that end with May and they slag off the spelling of Lilly

chocoroo · 01/08/2011 20:40

Evening all,

Whose idea was the sponsored 30 day shred? Genius! I'm definitely in and I might even start practicing soon. Should we say we'll start at the start of September or something? I think that's a 30 day month. Jane do you still have a JustGiving type page set up?

deb Fab news about your mum. Hopefully she can enjoy the rest of the summer now.

wandering Welcome back. Everything moves like lightening on here, I end up posting mammoth posts at the end of the day just to keep up! Hopefully most people ignore my rambling!

ponyo My fellow BLW scaredy cat! Sounds like you and A are doing fab. I tried my hardest thus afternoon and gave R a couple of baby rice cakes with hummus and one of those carrot flavoured stick things. She got in a right mess but ate probably one rice cake in total and loved the hummus. The carrot stick was even more of a favourite! And no tattoos here, I'm a real scaredy cat I tell you!

wiggles led Lots of whiffy bibs and muslins here too, am about to buy some vanish in wash stuff to shift the puree stains so maybe that will help? Think it has febreze in it. I do find line drying helps though.

reastie One of the girls from my NCT group just did the NHS course thing. Not sure how she's done but anything is worthwhile. I need to get back on the weight loss thing, only 3 months til I go back to work and I'd love to be a size 12.

knitta Fab news that you can start counselling. Have you been able to get out in the sunshine over the last few days? I find it so therapeutic.

puss I may try and lick McNulty if we do end up going to the play.

I sent DP to the test match yesterday with the sole purpose of licking Andrew Strauss on my behalf and he failed. Any other cricket fans on here?

Well, I bet I've missed loads of people so lots of waves to you all. Wedding last night was lovely, R behaved for Mum which is good. Now have a couple of week wait to the next wedding. Seriously.

Just watching underage and pregnant. All the babies are so tiny...almost enough to make me broody!
