jane Brilliant, glad today was a good day - just for your information from someone who took forever to conceive - each of the girls have been born 9-10 months after I have spend some time with newish baby - kicks starts the hormones or some such twaddle - just sayin' Wink We call it caramel cake here too, was looking for the hidden diamonds first time I ate millionaires shortbread Grin.

No reastie you're right, vvvv short dresses and skirts of the guests sitting opposite us, lets just say my poor dad got a glimpse of what they had for breakfast Shock

byronicheroine · 29/07/2011 09:13

thanks for that wiggles what an image to greet me in the morning!!

jane that's great news, and bodes well. I'm smiling now too :)

Have you all seen that the baby names for 2010 are out - not my usual sort of thing but it's actually very interesting. Not much change at the top by the looks of things, it's down the bottom where things get chavvy different!
granny I think I might have to decamp to starbucks again - what is in that Mocha coconut thing they have do you think? It's either that or stuck in my room with the aircon and K really doesn't appreciate that - yelling away. Or he was until I'd caught up and have nearly finished my post, but now he's lying on his baby gym thing that he just rolls off and trashes these days looking all sad, staring into space....

I suppose I'd better go and put the poor thing to bed, and that leaves me free to MN properly get started on the pre-packing load of washing. It never ends!

40Weeks · 29/07/2011 10:08

Hello everyone

How are you all? Have been trying to keep up but haven't posted for a few days. Welcome back knitta we missed you! Hope you are doing ok.

Week 1 of the holidays nearly over and we have survived. It's actually quite nice not having to get up and out in the mornings.

Mikey had a few unsettled days and was about to start weaning as thought it was hunger but turns out he was just a grump as have made an effort not to give in and feed him every 5 mins! So he has been going linger between feeds and he seems ok again.

Feeling fat and yucky, have a wedding in 2 weeks and don't fit into my dress. Keep saying "today I will be good" and try and shift a few lbs but then I eat too many biscuits! Grrrr I hate being wobbly, yet can't find them time/energy to Shred.

Anyway, moan over! I have a hen do tomorrow night - a night off, woo hoo!

What do you all have planned for the weekend?

wiggles Shock at clothing choices of christening folks.

ledkr not been on much recently hope she's ok she's prob just got a life unlike me

40 well done on surviving - one down is it 5 to go? Have you got a backup dress for case of emergencies? I feel the same weight wise so many sympathies. I don't think bfing helps in a way as it make you so greedy hungry

byron I saw the top 50 names (well, I looked up the popularlty of alice should I say). Alice got more popular - it had better not get the new favourite name as we dismissed our favourite name for that reason Hmm

hubbard sorry you didn't get to gp. Do you still think it's the dreaded pox?

alice was mega sick this morning Shock . Really freaked me out. Is this normal? She seems stubborn her usual self and smiley but posseted massive style all over her gro/gro bag/bedsheets/sophie. Will have to get duvet washed Shock . Do babies do this everynow and again? Could it be related to giving her some apple for the first time yesterday?

jane glad the new mindees were good

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 14:13

40Weeks glad you got over first week Grin I feel lumpy too, mind you the Pringles probably aren't helping!!

reastie would't worry about Alice being sick, Anna has just had a bit of upchucky!!

I had a nosy at the names as well, but with an Olivia it's a bit late for me to worry about popularity Grin Our top names in NI are a bit different though. I was one of four girls with the same name in school and you don't hear it as much now [shrug]

Well finished doing the rooms, bloody knackered and very Envy, they're gorgeous. Sofia and Olivia are out for the day with my aunt, so can't wait for them to see them. Mind you this is the aunt that bought Anna the ashtray so should probably be more worried about what they come home with Grin

reastie · 29/07/2011 14:29

oh wiggles piccie of the rooms please [nosey] and Envy . Alices room is mainly used as a laundry at the minute - we hang up and dry all our clothes in there.

Blimey, the noises coming from Alices bottom area right now Shock - I'd better go investigate Confused

ledkr · 29/07/2011 14:37

Was justv about to catch/post but Dilly is grumbling back later hope you well xx

ILovePonyo · 29/07/2011 14:59

Hello, well dd has been asleep for an hour and a half nearly, should I wake her or not?! Confused Though she has hardly slept at all earlier.

Yikes to the sick reastie I'd be concerned too, though I don't think you need to be - don't want to worry you there :) What was your original name choice? Oh by the way I put dd down to sleep on her front, maybe thats why she's sleeping so well. Her gro bag stops her rolling over in the night I think.

wiggles pleased to hear the rooms are done, lets have a nosy then Grin I for got about the ashtray as present, that made me laugh.

Taling about baby names, I know of someone who called their baby R-Ziah. I am not joking.

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 15:01

reastie just for you have put up a few photos of rooms, as sponsored by Ikea Grin Have also put a photo up of thingymabob as well. Am now sobbing to myself that the highlight of my week has been moving furniture in bedrooms < I used to be somebody slightly more rock 'n' roll> Grin

reastie · 29/07/2011 15:52

wiggles I am truly Envy of the rooms - they are lovely. Have the girls come home yet? Bet they are excited. I admit I'd be as excited as you moving the bedrooms - do you remember my excitement of my sitting room carpet? Grin

ponyo even the grobag goes nowhere near stopping alice roll over - she's a baby on a mission Wink . Our original favourites were Emily and Abigail Grin . R-Ziah? Is that even a name?!

chocoroo · 29/07/2011 16:24

Hello

I too have been checking out the names, very pleased to note Romilly was waaaaaaaayyyy down the list, even further than the year before. I wonder who has the least popular name? I didn't spot Delilah or Cassia anywhere. Although, it has to be said I think we have lovely taste in names on this thread - all fab!

wiggles Am also Envy at the rooms. I'm going to make our room lovely when we turf R out soon. I just want rid of the clutter and to have a bit of a sanctuary. I got rid of loads of books this week and next week I might attack the bedding drawers - so much we never use.

ponyo Defo leave her. Although you saying it probably means she's awake by now anyway!

reastie don't worry about the sick, R occassinally has a little sick-up. Usually when she's been greedy and scoffed too much milk IMO

40 God. You've reminded me of The Shred. Haven't done it for weeks. Maybe we should all start again next week. I'd like to drop a dress size before I go back to work..,

Byronic Good luck with the packing. I now stick everything in ikea bags when we go anywhere and squash them in the car but that probably won't work on a flight!

Right, need to go and try on whole wardrobe and figure out what fits as have another wedding on Sunday and not much I can wear...

reastie · 29/07/2011 16:40

oh choc if you are throwing out any nice bed linen from that drawer and it's kingsize size please consider sending it my way - I will pay postage etc. I am desperate for some new bedding as all our duvet covers are now stained/holey Blush [slattern housewife]

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 16:43

The girls still aren't back - they're in a tattoo parlour - aren't they Grin Hope she hasn't fallen for Olivias' hamster pleas Hmm

chocoroo · 29/07/2011 17:09

reastie I think most of it is kingsize, I'll investigate next week and maybe take some pics so you can decide if you want it. More than happy for it to go to a good home :)

wiggles Myabe they're in a playbarn, drinking fruit shoots and eating pom bears?!

40Weeks · 29/07/2011 17:11

wiggles maybe you're aunt will see sense and compromise with a tattoo of a hamster instead of a real hamster Grin off to check out photos

reastie I have a back up dress yes. But its still in a Next Warehouse somewhere as ordered it in the sale and it said 4 weeks delivery, so will no doubt arrive the day after the wedding! I wouldn't be too worried about sick unless it keeps happening

ponyo you win post of the day with R-Ziah name. M is also hVing mega sleeps in the day now he can sleep on his front, preferay with his legs poking out of the cot bars. Even with grobag on!

choc sorry about reminding you about Shred, if I'm going down you're all coming with me

OP posts:
ledkr · 29/07/2011 17:37

Bloody hell its so hard to keep up after a day off Grin

reastie If A is a sicky baby then she will grow out of it,i think its ok to do a few mammoth possets only be concerned if i carries on.
wiggles nice rooms, how long will they stay like that tho haha.I did Ellas room al la Next directory and now i get really cross if there is any muddle in there at all which is most ur of me.
40 i am talling myself into re starting the old shred next week,i was in my cossy yesterday and my belly was very round and had bee going down,i am also finding the holidays relaxing and love the break from the monotony but am eating like a piglet.
need to cant believe you are back at work, i was going to return in Oct but cant now due to Dillys op,it takes a good 2 weeks for them to recover fully and be eating etc.
puss i bet you feel like a new woman from a good night sleep, long may it continue.

Thanks to all of you who commented on my poor night. Yes Dilly has been in her room for about a week now and there is a defo improvement in my sex life her sleep. I think she woke up that night due to having her Omeprazole too late,it can cause insomnia. Last night was a tiny miracle. She went to ds3 and dil whilst we went to dinner with Ella,we picked her up about 8.30 and she had been bathed. She went down about 9.15 and slept right thru till 8.15! We were all shocked this morning.
Who is it that has the breathing sensor monitor? Cos i am finding it keeps going off now she is in the cot and moving around, any suggestions?

Weaning has finally begun,i went to Sainsburys and they had a good selection of finger foods.organix sticks and rice cakes and i also bought a jar of "rice brekkie" and she ate quite a lot.She has also just had some banana mashed with a bit of milk,Ella gave it to her and she ate the lot Shock The high chair seems to have helped loads. She is being alitle angel too, people even comment on how she never cries bless her.
Well off to make some pizza with Els,we are having a mammoth Harry Potter day as we cant see the new one till we've watched 4,5 and 6.

ILovePonyo · 29/07/2011 18:04

choco she woke up not long after I posted! Agree we all have fab baby names on this thread :) Good luck finding something for Sunday!

reastie its hard to imagine A as anything but now :) You are not a slattern housewife you big fibber!

wiggles I am so jealous of your (ikea) rooms, they look so nice. Hope the girls appreciate it, Well done you and MrW! 40 I did Grin at a tattoo of a hamster

Can you all please stop talking about the Shred, I had forgotton all about Jillian and excercise in general Blush

ledkr Grin at D being in her room good for your sex life, that made me laugh. Have you given Dils any 'solids' if you know what i mean, I'm still put off by all the gagging so have been sticking to mush, but think A would prefer proper food as she loves shoving stuff in her mouth.

Every time I have a cup of tea at the moment A lunges for it and cries when I take it away from her, strange baby Grin She can't have tea yet!

ledkr · 29/07/2011 18:27

Yes ponyo, she has had toast-or holy ghost as we call it lol-bread and butter bread sticks grated cheese quavers, prawn crackers and ice cream she doesnt get much in her mouth but it seems to have helped her to get used to having some food from the spoon, she has gagged but not choked,i fish out big lumps that break off. She ate amashed banana just now and i laughed when i saw all the tiny lumps that she had spat out onto her bib Grin

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 18:57

Well girls are home without tattoos and hamsters, thank God, to be honest I think I'd rather they had a tattoo than come home with a pet Grin They did come home with McDs toys, new cuddly toys, jewellery etc. Think my Aunt is exhausted and on her 2nd bottle of wine!!

ledkr think the rooms looked that good for about 45mins! Anna goes into her own room tonight, but the sex may have to wait, we are both exhausted, Mr W can barely move and he has a 5.30am start. Great sleep last night D.

ponyo Anna lunges for tea too, think she likes the patterns on the cup, but I am aagh, Olivia (who else) managed to topple a mug of vv hot tea on herself when she was about a year. Have never got over the guilt, thankfully she didn't scar because I actually had my wits about me, it covered her from neck to bum Sad The tea was nowhere near her, it was in the middle of a table, but she pulled a handbag and the strap sent the mug clattering. Since then I have had lukewarm tea!

PussInConverse · 29/07/2011 19:56

I have the shred dvd too. Just need to unwrap it from the cellophane now! [lazy cow emoticon]

Lovely rooms wiggles. Where's the bunting from (the Sweet Dreams one)? Want! J is in her own room as of tonight - woo hoo! The sleeping through seems to have been a one-off, so I hope this move helps. But what is this sex thing you speak of, ledkr Wink. I have to have an, ahem, repair op, so it may be a few weeks off here! Good thing, as DH seems to be getting broody!

Wishing you all lots of sleep and sweet dreams of idris.

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 20:05

PussInConverse Its Next - Autumn/Winter 2011. Anna is in the cot in her own room, girls are up in their "new" room, its very quiet here Hmm

ILovePonyo · 29/07/2011 21:04

Ah thanks ledkr, I know there is a difference between gagging and actual choking but its still a bit scary (for me and dp anyway Wink) Might try again and fish out any big bits but not make a fuss. I reckon I can beat you on prawn crackers etc, dp dipped his finger in his beer and gave it to her to suck, she loved it and lunged for his pint Grin Blush

wiggles Shock at the tea incident, how scary for you. Am not surprised it was Olivia, did you dunk her straight into cold water then? Hope A is ok in her own room tonight - I'm sure she will be.
Meant to say, your next stage formula milk is cheaper you say, what do you use? I was so annoyed when I saw Aptamil was the same price for 6 months old, is it bad I'm considering changing dd's milk b'cos it'll be cheaper? Grin

Puss an op, oh dear, sounds painful Shock Hope you don't mind me asking but what do you have to have done? You can ignore that question if you don't want to answer! Wink No rush to shred anyway, maybe leave it in the wrapping a bit longer!

Right dd went to bed well as she was knackered, hope she doesn't wake too early Hmm She's having an afternoon with her dad tomo though as I am meeting a friend in town for food and catch up, looking forward to it. I met a friend today with dd and it was lovely, just sometimes forget how distracting from conversations babies can be (especially when they're whingy Grin)!

wigglesrock · 29/07/2011 21:15

ponyo I stood under the shower with her for about 15 mins then drove her straight to the Hospital. I use SMA, the SMA stage 2 is £2 cheaper in Tescos and at the minute £3 cheaper in Asda than the Stage 1. I didn't change with S&O because there's no real benefit but needs must! Tomorrow sounds lovely - enjoy Grin

ILovePonyo · 29/07/2011 21:27

Thanks wiggles, ah I used SMA at first (because thats what my mum used for me Grin) but switched to Aptamil.
Well done on the quick thinking with the shower - hope I never have to do that but the way dd is going with cups of tea its good to know Grin

reastie · 29/07/2011 21:30

puss I too was nosey interested in the op

wiggles Shock at the tea incident - that would really scare me.

Alice is making that evil gremlin noise too now - all the time Confused . She's lying here on her tummy now - she fell asleep on her tummy earlier only with her head right in the mat. I was worried she couldn't breathe well [pfb] so tried to move her head to the side but she just woke up and screamed Confused , still, according to this thread they can sleep very well on their tums - this bodes well Grin

choc I would be Grin Grin Grin to see any potential bed linen. Let me know if you have any and I'll pm you my email

ledkr yeah for dilly not only sleeping but eating too Grin

ponyo I'm too scared to give alice anything solid like because of gagging, but then she's only 5 months so I'm waiting till 6 months before I consider any of that. Shock and Wink at the beer

ohhh, mirandas on tv Grin
