Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wigglesrock · 28/07/2011 08:35

byronicheroine I've never used a pillow in a pram and don't use them in cots, my poor, deprived children don't get pillows until they move into beds Grin Great news about the passport.

emski Olivia will be 4 in October too, not sure where those years went Hmm She has suddenly shot up and thinned out, she's like Sofia now all legs and bony bum Grin

jane Today will be fine with the mindees, good luck with the new one!!

I'm off swimming with S&O, then to Tescos for a "big" shop, not sure what I did to deserve all the glamour Hmm

ledkr · 28/07/2011 08:41

grrrrr just when you think you've cracked it. Stupid Dilly woke at 2am and was just awake!Beady eyes staring.I literally had no idea what to do,dh had work at 7 so i just sat there with her.Gave her some milk she didnt really want it and didnt sleep, put her in cot where she fidgeted about for a bit then cried from boredom.Eventually as my rage came on about 4.30 i decided to stay sane and have a cuppa and watch torchwood on catch up.I put her in her pram and she went immediately to sleep Confused I drank my tea had some toast and went back to bed but couldnt sleep cos of my cough.

jane Also remembering Zoe today xx

reastie · 28/07/2011 08:48

deb forgot to say shuldigung is derived from the german excuse me Grin

jane gl with new mindees.

wiggles we have a trip to tesco today too

choc how many metres of the oil cloth did you get? I wondered about getting that as they have such nice patterns and using it as a table cloth in future/under table when painting is taking place when she's older

byron never even thought about putting a pillow in the pram. I think you can never win with the oldies - it's always is she too hot/cold/fat/thin/small/long/tired/hungry etc with them Wink

Alice did massive rolling over session until 11pm last night and then decided to FINALLY stay on her side and try to get some sleep

Got the vicar over this morning to discuss the christening. No idea what we need to discuss though Hmm . I've planned my feeds today around not feeding when he's here as I can't help it - it just feels a bit odd to get your boob out in front of a vicar Blush .

NeedToSleepZZZ · 28/07/2011 11:11

reastie thank you for making me Grin Grin Grin with your comment about the vicar!

ledkr the nail brush has shown some improvement but still flippin orange in parts, i give up...

thanks for the tips re feeding, i have a mesh net thing that i was going to introduce next week so will add some potato for now. tbh i don't think he's that interested in food but just likes sitting in his chair, i'm not worried though as just feel he'll do it in his own time and he can play with it if he doesn't want to eat it (cannot believe how laid back i am about weaning given my hysterical tendencies Wink)

As predicted, B had an awful night but seems better this morning, sort of. OH didn't get the bogey sucker, he came back with more saline drops Angry He's obviously still in the running for most useless dp

reastie · 28/07/2011 11:40

well, vicar been and gone. Just as well dh at work as he's like Mr Wiggles in that he's Hmm at this religious 'mumbo jumbo' ( wiggles not Mr Wiggles now has his own bold lettering from us Wink )

Have had a shoe order arrive of options for christening shoe for me. Now, shall I go with the comfy flat shoes that I will wear all the time and get my monies worth or the v high heeled shoe that looks fantastic but I can barely stand up in and was in pain after a few minutes wear and will probably never get worn again but that I love love love? Hmm

needto enjoy work and the wire. Maybe I should try watching the wire...

reastie · 28/07/2011 11:40

I mean 'note' mr w has bold not 'not'

chocoroo · 28/07/2011 12:30

reastie Clearly the high heeled shoe that looks fantastic. Am confused as to what Christening is for if not to show off what a yummy mummy you are!

Re: Pretty oilcloth, I got 1.3m I think - basically a square which gives enough coverage to allow R to throw things around.

Jane Good luck today. You'll be fine!

needto You're watching the Wire for the third time?! We're only on season 3. I obviously don't fancy Idris enough as I prefer my Dawson's Creek when DP is not around.

ledkr Have you evicted D into her room yet? Maybe turf her out if you haven't already. Although I should shut up as R is still in with us!

R and I have walked 4 miles around London so fr today - including a big hike up Primrose hill. Such a wonderful view.

chocoroo · 28/07/2011 12:31

Oh and knitta Welcome back! I missed your thread, but it's good to have you here again.

janedoe25 · 28/07/2011 12:36

Thanks all for the encouragement, the little has been fab so far, she is sound asleep just now and hopefully for the next hour! The 4 yr old is sitting beside me watching toystory 3 and having a wee rest, looks like she might sleep too!

I shall catch up with everyone later.

byronicheroine · 28/07/2011 13:18

LO is asleep so I'm relaxing for 5 mins before it all starts again. Definitely feel like a hamster on a wheel sometimes!
Ledkr sorry about your midnight tv activities - we've had a few nights like that. I usually try and read or something to keep the lights down but sometimes there's nothing else for it but some good re-runs! I like friends in that situation cos I don't have to concentrate or worry about following a storyline! Hope you have a better night tonight, remember everything looks better when you're rested.
needto yes! Will try ignorance next time. Lots of people speak English so I might have to go eastern european - maybe moldovan?!?I know they mean well but it does get on my tits and I end up being sarky!
jane glad it's going well, you're even getting a sit down Shock Wink
reastie I have to say I laughed at the idea of you flashing the vicar, like some sort of carry on film! Ooh, vicar, ooh, more tea?!
Ok am off to find refuge in starbucks (aircon and caffine :o )

WeAreBorg · 28/07/2011 16:25

Hi all, have just skim read posts will catch up later, bit busy with la decorator being round and Nate being weird.

I've got oilcloth for the high chair too, for same reason that I thought I could use it for the kitchen table later, so have just bought the dimensions for the table about 1.5 x 135 I think.

Giggling at flashing the vicar! Well the Good Lord did give us boobies....

Nate always chokes on his milk anyway (fast let down or something) so I think he'll be well practised for BLW. I think we are officially the only non-weaners now although he did grab a chocolate brownie out of my hand and shoved it in his mouth. Fell back out though, prob just thought mummy should be healthy...

He's entirely given up on rolling, I think he reckons if he's done something once that's enough. Apart from screeching which he must practice all the time especially at 3am Confused.

Will try to catch up properly later, excited one of us has seen The Dress.

PussInConverse · 28/07/2011 16:31

a quick hello. J is making funny sounds over the monitor - I hope she'll fall asleep while I mumsnet sort stuff out - we'll see! Great news here though - for the first time in her life, she slept through!!

weaning going well - she's had toast with fruit puree, veg puree on a rice cake, and a Plum fromage frais thingy. Not too much gagging yet, but I'm sure she'll terrify me soon.

I've also discovered teething granules. They're great, and I just pop one in when she's looking grumpy ; 0

OH, and can I join the Idris fanclub?

tadjennyp · 28/07/2011 17:37

We have been trying to watch the Wire but some git has not returned the next 3 discs to Blockbusters on time, Angry

Lol at the vicar comment Grin . Honestly, when it gets to the third, you just feed as and when!

Is Primrose Hill as pretty as it sounds choco?

Thinking of you today Jane, glad the mindees are going well.

Borg, Sammy is still not impressed with the babyrice and spits most of it out! It hasn't helped with the nights either, as last night he fed at 12.30, 2.30, 4.30, 6 and 7. Knackered, or what?! Hmm

Have you moved Dilly into her own room now she is officially 6 months old ledkr? Sorry about last night. I'm about to make my second coffee so I don't have to resort to matchsticks. Thank goodness the other two are in preschool this morning!

Byron, you will never win with old people. Good luck fetching the passport. I'm still waiting for the Embassy in DC to pull their fingers out. Angry

Hope B is better v soon needto and Freya gets over the chickenpox.

How did the big shop go wiggles? Grin

Waves hello to everyone else. Smile

Grannyapple · 28/07/2011 17:58

Borg I'll join you in being the last ones to wean....must be something to do with the name Nate Grin. He doesn't seem that bothered...tho he was watching me eat lunch in Starbucks (byron with you in the Starbucks...I found it a bit hot today here too,tho nowhere near as hot where you are!). But I picked up some bibs in the pound shop for weaning & some disposable tablecloths I can place on the floor when I start whilst I try this weaning lark out week after next. Doing some pureeing next Friday with some mum friends (they don't know how to 'cook' apparently Hmm

Jane hope you got thru today ok.

About to post pics of Nate...

wigglesrock · 28/07/2011 18:29

Grannyapple great pics, Nate really rocking the festival look esp the ear defenders Grin

jane well did they run you ragged?

Puss Nope, you're not allowed in the Idris fanclub, he's mine all mine

My absent Health Visitor called out this afternoon to do Annas' 14-16 week check, she's 23 weeks Hmm All fine, went through the weaning leaflet and got bumf on talking to your baby, how to help them learn etc. She was good, just started the job! She weighed, measured etc, Anna is not 17lbs1 she's 17lbs 10oz but she's light for her height Shock

Well the great room reorganisation is almost complete, 2 wardrobes and bunkbeds moved up a flight of stairs, Mr W is never going to take off work again Grin, am buying him a takeaway as a reward!

ILovePonyo · 28/07/2011 20:15

Hey all, granny I LOVE the pics of Nate with his ear protecters on, cool festival baby! Really sweet.

jane have also been thinking of you and Z today, sounds like work went well today though? Well done you :)

well done MrWiggles, think he deserves that takeaway wiggles!

ledkr naughty dilly, how frustrating. Early night for you tonight then?! Grin Same to tadj by the sounds of things!

reastie I also Grin at flashing the vicar, it would probably have made his day!

Today we let dd suck on a bit of tomato and cucumber but I/dp kept hold of it the whole time, then later gave her a bit of pineapple to suck on but bits kept coming out in her mouth. She did some gagging but managed to swallow them, dp freaked out a bit tho and decided he couldn't handle all the gagging and took the pineapple off her! She did a lot of big burps after though Confused

Hello to everyone else especially knitta - nice to 'see' you Wink Am off to make icing for my lemon drizzle cake I made today, check me, dp does have his uses being off work as he can deal with baby whilst I make cakes Grin

reastie · 28/07/2011 21:09

ponyo can I borrow your dh so I can make cakes please? Grin . I made a big batch of millionnaires shortbread this afternoon to go in the freezer towards christening food Grin

granny those ear protectors are great. Really made me Grin

wiggles Hmm at having 14/16 week check up so late. Glad she was good though. Bravo to mrwiggles and his incredible strength even when suposidly sick. Are the girls in their new room tonight together?

hubbard how is the infested pox household?

Speaking of flashing the vicar and more tea vicar I was sooooo tempted to do a Mrs Doyle 'would you like a cup of tea father? ah you will, you will you will you will you will' but just couldn't build up the nerve, plus, he probably gets it all the time and each time the person thinks they're greatly hillarious Grin . He is officially the only person to have worn their shoes on my new sitting room carpet - everyone else MUST take their shoes off before entering but I just couldn't ask him Blush

puss Grin Grin to sleeping through

choc I feel slightly Envy of your london trips despite the fact i am only half an hour away and just plain lazy .

Haven't heard from 40 for a few days haven't we?

Wonder how american is getting on.

ledkr how's dilly doing with the blw?

wigglesrock · 28/07/2011 21:41

reastie Everyone is going into new rooms tomorrow evening, even Anna [I think], having some wobbles Grin It's funny, Sofia and Olivia were in their own rooms as soon as they were out of moses baskets because of space, but I've had Anna in with us for a lot longer because our room is bigger now. I think I might miss her Blush, especially because Mr W works so many night shifts. All set for the christening?

Ponyo A had mango today, she loved it. Lemon drizzle is one of my favourites.

Olivia asked if we could get a hamster today, I said No, she then asked if we could get one when the dog dies Shock. Be afraid wiggles dog, she had a steely glint in her eyes Grin.

knittakid · 28/07/2011 21:42

wow so much is happening here!!
Wiggles I do like him, although I also can't stand him in Luther, but loved him in the wire!

Angels, just ask the vicar if he takes milk in his tea... and also go for the fab shoes!! or perhaps not...

knittakid · 28/07/2011 21:43

Oh, and sorry, what's dtd?

reastie · 28/07/2011 21:48

wiggles don't let olivia near wiggles dog with anything vaguely sharp or pointy Shock Wink

christening plans getting there although found out from the vicar our special christening service (we arn't having it as part of the family service we are having our own private one) is now being shared with another child Hmm . we have visions of a bumfight for the 'good' seats between families and again outside the church after for the obligatory photos Hmm . oh well, more people to see my lovely shoes i guess Wink

reastie · 28/07/2011 21:50

knitta x posted. yeah you're back Grin Grin . dtd is doing the deed [wink wink nudge nudge].

jane where/how are you?

wigglesrock · 28/07/2011 21:56

reastie she's more devious than that Grin, wouldn't be surprised to catch her on t'internet ordering some kind of rare plant that was dangerous to dogs - she's an evil genius getting ready for world domination Shock Four other babies were christened with Anna, we don't have christenings as part of a main service, just after mass, but Anna was by far the best behaved and best dressed - remember all the other guests were showing their vajazzles.

knittakid dtd = doing the deed, maritals, having the sex etc Grin

ledkr how was D today, did she go down ok?

reastie · 28/07/2011 22:03

wiggles guests at christening showing their vajazzles Shock . I'm prob going to really embarrass myself now but I thought vajazzles was something slightly saucy Shock Hmm but this doesn't really seem appropriate given the sentence Blush Hmm

janedoe25 · 28/07/2011 22:19

Wow too much for me to reply to everyone!

wiggles the poor dog must be very afraid! Grin

Well, today was brill! the baby was so cute, she slept and ate well and smiled and laughed all day!

Im glad today hasn't been sad, i have been thinking of Zoe and smilling today. Smile

reastie hope christening plans are comming along. Envy about millionaires shortbread (or caramel cake as we call it here).
