Hey all!

puss I have added you so you can see photos now hopefully? I have loads of photos of dd on facebook, never thought I'd be such a show off Wink but don't know how to link to it either. Eek at the tooth, and well done the real life meet ups, sounds fab!

borg and reastie I have ordered my annabel karmel book from amazon today, she must be minted lucky woman! Also ordered some toys which cost more than the book Hmm

40 are you going to brave the trip to the cinema? Lots of sweets as bribes might work Wink

delia nice to hear about your holiday, sounds lovely :) Did you get an actual proper jumparoo?! (I mean an expensive one - didn't realise how much they cost after googling Shock) However I am now very tempted to get one for dd, they look ace. I have the opposite problem to you, dp is off work for 6 weeks so will be seeing how we get on Grin Good luck tho.

reastie I have to say I think A has the most expressive baby face I have ever seen, I love it, some of the best facial expressions ever Grin

jane party sounds good! What have you got df for pressie?

NeedTo nice to hear about your good day, tbh feeding mucky babies in the bath sounds like a stroke of genius to me Grin banana is a bugger to get out of babygros I have realised.

granny hopefully the fussing will just be a stage - good luck for tonight. am Envy at free ben and jerrys too.

wiggles hope Mr W is ok Grin

Right its taken me about half an hour to write this - off to bed in a mo! Evening and sleep-filled nights to all :)

janedoe25 · 26/07/2011 07:38

sorry reastie but i Grin at the killer pigeon story! Oh and i'll have you know it has been roasting hot here since last friday! Wink

tad campinh trip sounds good, glad you and the kids had fun. Hope you are all well.

ponyo I would be such a show off too if Zoe was here. I have bought DF a race car driving experience oh and some boobs! Grin

Hope everyone is ok, have a good day all.im off out to enjoy the (rare) sunshine. Grin

byronicheroine · 26/07/2011 09:01

Hey all! Am back from the wilds of the Peloponnese and off to the wilds of Devon next week :o
Please don't be jealous as it was way too hot to get out in the day with baby, no aircon Shock and with the PILs.... not one nappy change, night out, meal cooked, floor cleaned or ANYTHING! Took lots of pictures with "our baby" (I did snidely point out that it wasn't theirs Blush but I think it just went over their heads! Or maybe my Greek isn't up to it!

jane ...............boobs? I'm thinking chocolate ones? Or did you get a cheeky uplift Wink

tad impressed with your camping, I was a bit scared but I may try it while in the aforesaid wilds - if the weather is any good!

puss added :)

ponyo I've got that book too -she'll be the next JK Rowling at this rate! - and borg I got the BLW one as well, will end up doing some kind of mish-mash of them both I 'spect. Some of the recipes look quite nice tho! Mmmm

reastie Laughed at your pigeon, sorry, you would get on well with my DP - he has a thing (not that kind of thing!!) about pigeons and even started some kind of pigeon-hating and hunting facebook group. I stayed well out of all that.

Hi everyone else, will be back when K has stopped alternately blowing raspberries and screeching

PussInConverse · 26/07/2011 09:29

hello
have put a couple of photos up and think I've added everyone. Give me a nudge if not.

I've gone for the River Cottage baby cookbook rather than Annabel Karmel. Am being a bad mummy until 6 months though, and just using ella's kitchen sachets. J prefers these, and they're cheaper than pureeing 3 loads of organic veg.

Not sure who mentioned the pricy jumperoo - we got ours off ebay. It's in immaculate condition as they're not used for v long, and we hope to resell it for what we paid (£50). Still an expensive toy, but they all seem to love it.

the netmums meet up was with just one mum. The proper meet ups are in the next town and I can't be bothered a bit far away.

jane looking forward to hearing more about the party and drunken shenanigans!

btw, you can still call me pussing if you like Wink.

Right, off to stalk y'all look at your photos. Thanks for adding me Smile.

WeAreBorg · 26/07/2011 10:08

Hellooo!
puss am I not your friend? Can't see your photos Sad
jane I still think you are extremely cool with your festivals and parties, and boobs (?) and all, hope you have a lovely time.
Wiggles Anna is so lovely in her highchair, tried Nate in his after seeing your photos and he is great in it (needs the insert due to his little bot though). Enjoyed smashing his toys on the tray then throwing/dropping them on the floor. No food still!
Ponyo oh what a cutie! She looks a bit like my brother when he was a baby - I know that doesn't sound like a compliment but he was all big brown eyes and dark curls and used to get queues of ladies lining up to see him wherever he went.

To add to PIGEON NIGHTMARES next door had a pigeon fly down their chimney last week and fly around their front room, pooing all over their lovely sofas. They rushed round to tell us to get cowls (spelling?) on our chimneys so I rang someone asap but apparently we'll need scaffolding for it! So can't afford it, and keep hearing pigeons cooing down the chimney, have been lying in bed with the covers pulled over my head!

Got my Karmel and BLW books yesterday, had a quick look and I'm such a saddo got quite tearful that DS will soon be eating from a plate and not having his feeds cuddled up to me all the time! Fortunately he woke up tons through the night so at least he will always need me to sleep Confused.
Quite like the idea of BLW but have a friend who did it and we never invite her round anymore as DS is sooo messy!

PussInConverse · 26/07/2011 10:19

borg it should work now!

wigglesrock · 26/07/2011 10:41

PussInConverse photos are brilliant, love the hat, but tbh J does look a tad unimpressed with the tent putting up Grin

WeAreBorg see told you there would be a positive to Nate wakening Grin I felt the same way with Olivia, when she finally started sleeping through the night without me, I missed her Blush

byronicheroine great to hear from you, sorry pils weren't more helpful, holiday with pils [shudder], you're a braver woman than me Grin

jane I'm guessing an apron with boobs on it Grin

Mr W is still a tad under the weather, just sick enough to be irritating Grin

I hate pigeons - rats with wings, rats with wings I tell you!!

WeAreBorg · 26/07/2011 10:54

puss cute!!
Nate screeeeching all the time, very irritating, going out for a very long walk and may never come back

reastie · 26/07/2011 11:34

wiggles my mum calls squirrels rats with tails Wink (although don't rats have tails anyway Hmm )

pussing love the piccies - esp the head shot near the bottom Grin

borg you reminded me my parents had a pigeon fall down their chimney a couple of week sago - it got stuck IN the chinmey and they couldn't get it out but could hear it inside IYKWIM Shock . They couldn't get a chimney sweep over for a week to sort it out and they thought it had died but when the sweep got it out it was still alive Shock . Maybe that was the same pigeon who tried to attack me Hmm

byron enjoy devon

back from baby sensory - alice shattered from all the excitement of doing various magic tricks Grin . She got so excited by a bright pom pom I shock in her face I'm debating buying one for her

reastie · 26/07/2011 11:35

I shook in her face not shock in her face of course

Deliaskis · 26/07/2011 13:51

Hi ladies,

Hope you're all having a nice day. For us, this is day 2 of my final four weeks of mat leave. D-18 or something (excluding weekends). Things are fine here. Yesterday C didn't have her long lunchtime sleep (actually not had it on or since holiday) and I was half fretting about having undone all my good 'routine' work, and half thinking, won't be my problem in a few weeks. I'm terrible aren't I? I honestly don't mean it in a bad way, I just mean that although going back to work will be hard and stressful in other ways, there is also an element of relief in my mind about not being the only person 'in charge' of what C does when, what she eats etc. It will be hard to let go, but in other ways, I think strangely liberating.

We had an otherwise good day tho, went to visit my parents who hadn't seen her for a week and were squeeeeing about how much she had grown LOL.

Ponyo it's the Fisher Price rainforest jumperoo and is normally about £90 I think, but there was one in my local Mothercare with a sale price of £60 so I grabbed it. I was going to get one on ebay - around £40 ish, then just saw this and went for it. Actually tho, it's cost us a negative amount of money, as DSis and Mum & Dad gave us money for Claudia's christening to get it (as they had already given 'meaningful' gifts at other times), so we had £90 off them, then MIL actually offered to pick it up for me as it was peeing down and I couldn't be bothered to get Claudia out of the car into buggy etc. so I wrote her a cheque which she kept screwing up and throwing back at me saying she didn't want it. So the jumperoo was in fact free, and we are kind of £60 better off as well. Result!

Although C has been having some solids for a while now, I am now starting to wonder if approaching 6 months, I should have a bit more of a structured approach to it, or if to just carry on as is? I mean at some point, it has to change from random spoonfuls and nibbles of things, to a balanced diet doesn't it? At the moment, she roughly has a bit of porridge at breakfast, a bit of mushed veg at lunch and a bit of mushed fruit or rice at teatime, and she's still having all her milk. I don't really know how to go from this to actual lunch and actual tea IYSWIM? I know they say it's still mainly about milk until they're one so I guess I don't need to stress about it?

Four4me · 26/07/2011 13:56

reastie we had four massive ravens fall down the chimney into dh's office a few weeks ago. One every morning till we put the guard on the top. They were so horrible. Flying at the window. Dh was away so it was down to me to grab them. Still hate going in there now, think I have been scarred by it.

Holidays going well. Very busy and am constantly feeding them all and running up and down stairs. The two boys are watching Nemo and Imogen and Archie are in bed so getting a sit down phew! A is now getting on his side but has his arm stuck! Thomas (7) is so good with him providing him with toys but they are not always appropriate. This morning he was playing with a three foot long plastic sword.

Was thinking how my parenting had changed in the last 7 years. I remember standing Thomas's little yogurts in some warm water to take the chill off them! Pfb! Yesterday Archie was in his bouncy chair on the garden table having his Ellas kitchen (it was spitting with rain) between each spoon full I ran around tidying up toys. Then Imogen came over to see what he was eating so without thinking I dipped my finger and put a blob of it in her mouth! She thought it was yummy!

wigglesrock · 26/07/2011 14:32

Four4me Grin I remember with Sofia warming cartons of fruit/yogurts with my hands if we were out Blush, Olivia tried to "do" Annas hair yesterday, she's lethal with a hair band, thankfully Anna just sat there!!

Deliaskis that sounds exactly what Anna is having, I'm happy enough to leave it there for a few weeks. I agree with you there is a certain relief when you go back to work and can let somebody else worry about naps/ nappies/food for a little bit, its very exhausting worrying all the time.

reastie Grin at magic Alice!

Anna is doing so much shouting, she's like a little Gremlin and not the cute Gizmo one Shock

Four4me · 26/07/2011 17:39

Totally forgot to say that the great milk delivery is go go go! Dh (Urnie!) has gone with a freezer box full of frozen milk to meet a complete stranger in a pub car park.! Grin he is use to my crazy ideas! The nearest milk bank is miles away so he is meeting a scbu nurse's dh who works about one hour from here! Put the guilts on him saying to think of all those tiny babies it would help! I couldn't go as it is right on A feed time so i'd have to take him with me and stop to feed him!
Hope my halo is shining bright tonight.

wigglesrock · 26/07/2011 19:52

Four4me Phase 1 complete, well done, Operation Milk a success. Seriously congratulations, you should be really proud of yourself!

Mr W still a tad dodgy, so cancelled work - home until Saturday, he's better buck up his ideas if he's going to be under my feet all week Grin. Going to watch The Girl who kicked the Hornets Nest tonight, 2 films in a couple of nights - its almost like I have a social life again Grin

debka · 26/07/2011 20:13

So nice to hear everyone so up ATM.

44me and wiggles, I'm the same,re weaning, except that with Imy I was militant BLW, with S she totally can't manage feeding herself so I spoon it in as she sits on my lap during teatime. Tonight she I cooked her 2 (small) pears, mashed up with 2 spoons of yoghurt and she ate the LOT!

44me well done you again for feeding those little babies :)

delia I'm a SAHM ATM but I can completely understand you looking forward to someone else taking over care of C. It is so blooming hard work when they need to sleep so much and you have to do everything for them.

reastie and others, I'm a bit horrified at all your bird stories Shock

Lovely photos ponyo and pussing

pussing you fancy pants getting Hugh Fearnley Whatsitstall's book Grin I had no idea he'd written one.

Did I tell you DH ordered me a Moby Wrap, it should be coming tomorrow. I am soooo looking forward to it, S is in her Baby Bjorn loads but it's starting to make my back ache a bit.

For those whose baby is a 2nd or 3rd or 4th (44me) or 5th (ledkr)- did you find this one didn't get as, well, loved by family as no1? Imy was first grandchild and niece on both sides and was showered with presents and attention. Sabine is the 2nd (3rd on DH's side, his sister had a baby), and no-one seems that bothered about her at all. I feel a bit :( and extra loving and protective of her- we are even closer I think as a result. Anyone else find the same, and does it have an effect as they get older, or will they get more attention as they get more interesting?

ILovePonyo · 26/07/2011 20:30

Thanks for nice comments about A all - borg I know what you mean, I often get asked if she is a boy or a girl unless she's wearing pink!

delia I have been ebay-ing for jumperoos today! Might just buy her a cheaper bouncer/walker thing tomo though as I'm impatient Grin I could have written the same as you wrote about work tbh, don't feel bad you are not on your own with that! In a way I'm dreading leaving A, I'll worry so much (and I'm sure she'll be fine) but then 'strangely liberating' is a very good way of describing the other end of the scale. I don't have a clue about meals etc, am just giving A random bits of mush every now and then atm!

reastie magic tricks this week eh Grin I have a pigeon story too (yours is funnier tho) - when we first moved into our house we discovered an old fireplace in the bedroom, we were clearing it out with dustpan brush then dp put his hand up and pulled out, yes, a dead pigeon - grim!

borg Hmm to your PIL, bloody rude! You have the hello kitty book too?! dp was very unimpressed that I wanted to buy it for dd but she loves it, ha!

Four4 yay for the milk run Grin Great news. I can imagine I'll be warming yogurts up for dd in the near future, pfb and all.

jane please expand on the boobs... that sounds weird doesn't it Grin My friend got a drive a ferrari thingy for her birthday and loved it - good present idea that.

wiggles like the gremlin description Grin dd does a good impression too!

Hi everyone else :)

dd has been v grumpy recently but chewing a lot, don't know if her teeth are moving about poor thing. Gave her some baby drugs/teething powder earlier and it helped a treat though Shock

ILovePonyo · 26/07/2011 20:33

Hi dfeb, let me know how you get on with the moby wrap? I have one but not used it properly and need to try again Blush

pussin I meant to mention the HFW book too - when the river cottage cookery progs come on I always say to dp that I am jealous of Hugh with his lovely life Grin so organic and healthy and lovely Really like the pics btw

wigglesrock · 26/07/2011 20:42

Taking a 10 minute break from film for ice-cream Grin

debka Anna is my mums 3rd grandchild and my mils 5th but do be honest they've spoilt them all rotten. My mum was a bit wary when I had Sofia about buying her things, spending loads of time with her but that was because she wasn't sure what I wanted her do to Grin My pil in particular absolutely dotes on the girls, I think its because he wasn't around much because of work when his 3 boys were young. My pils also minded Sofia for me a lot when I worked so she just slots in. In fact my mum is a bit worried that Anna won't get as much fussing over as a baby because my sister's due in February. Its funny my mum wasn't the best mum but is a fantastic Nana Hmm

Emski76 · 26/07/2011 20:45

Hi all
Sounds like everyone is doing well at the moment!
Puss, I can't see your photos, boo hoo!
Four4, again think your amazing with your milk donation, think your dh is brilliant doing the deliveries!
Loving all the pigeon stories! Had me giggling!
Tried Noah in neices highchair and he almost slid out. He has a habit of pushing his tummy out and bottom out and slidding! At the moment we feed him in his bouncy chair, which can be awkward when he's waving his arms and legs around and bouncing like a madman!
He's still spending most of his days rolling around the living room, it's amazing to watch, he just keeps rolling until he comes up against some furniture!
I have also been thinking about work, tho I'm not back until Oct 31st, and have been feeling quite relieved that someone else will be responsible for Noahs sleeping and feeding!

Emski76 · 26/07/2011 20:47

Also been thinking if buying a moby wrap, as Noah is sooooooo heavy to carry in my arms and has never fit into the Baby Bjorn we bought when Ben was a baby! Let us know how you get on Deb and Ponyo

janedoe25 · 26/07/2011 20:56

Shock about all the bird stories!

Ha ha ha the boobs are just a daft wee grow your own boobs things! Grin at the thought of me having an enhancement, i'd be like lola ferari!

wiggles hope your enjoying your film.

4forme you should be prooud of yourself, all the little babies will thrive because of you.

borg you have made me feel cool! Thanks Grin by the way i am so not cool!

ledkr hope you had a fab weekend?

debka · 26/07/2011 20:59

Just put another photo of the Bean on my profile.

ledkr · 26/07/2011 21:07

Ello,i have posted twice since home but as usual lost them,it becomes so disheartening.
Glad you are all well ive read up but not even attempting to reply.
Caravan and park so lovely we are going back.Dilly was really good and we had such a relaxing time.
Dillys weaning isnt happening and im feeling left out reading all your sucessfull stories. She ate prawn crackers, quavers and a jaffa cake on hols so ive had strict instructions to blw from the cleft nurse. I scurried off to mothercare to buy a highchair and will be trying tomorrow.Any blw advice welcome as ive never done it before. She is really bored of milk and wriggles about like an eel pinching and scratching me Hmm
Id be interested in the moby wrap too,dh uses the bjorn with her facing the front and im stil loving my kouri brightsparks pouch its so comfy but still wouldnt want to wear it for a trip to town or anything cos my back does start aching.

ledkr · 26/07/2011 21:47

Btw ive loved seeing all your new pics apart from those i cant view
