ahhh, glass of water in hand and supernanny in the background and peace at last for the time being deb it has been a pretty rubbish day, but, I did make loads of cupcakes. Fancy one ? I'm not risking the rhythm method and a reastie shaped imy appearing on the scene Wink . Luckily (or not as the case may be) it was our 'spare' freezer dh turned off so all that was in there was the suff for the christening, some bread and the birthday cakes. Whoever said things should be fine for 24 hrs - it was almost 24 hrs since it had been turned off Shock . They were still cold so edible, just not refreezable.

Hope everyone has a great night tonight.

janedoe25 · 20/07/2011 20:52

reastie im glad A finally settled, hope she sleeps all night for you.

Yay Nate, he will have a full set of gnashers soon!

Im not going to poas until the weekend, but i will let you all know the result Grin

debka · 20/07/2011 20:54

reastie you can refreeze bread AFAIK but it's probably a bit late now!

Off to bed with me.

Night all xxx

reastie · 20/07/2011 21:04

I did indeed refreeze the bread Grin

ILovePonyo · 20/07/2011 21:17

Oh reastie how horrible for you re: crying, you were not being pfb at all, I start wondering if I should take A to the doc if she's been crying for more than 15 mins. Hope shes worn herself out now. This will make you smile, earlier I was stewing and pureeing fruit and veg to feed A and managed to boil dry some carrots in the pan and burn them - bloody boiled carrots and I burned them! Shock

ILovePonyo · 20/07/2011 21:18

thats meant to say telling off from reastie Wink

Four4me · 20/07/2011 21:25

Just got in and boys to bed after concert at school as the Head teacher is retiring. It was brilliant.

Jane thinking of you, try to relax. Fingers crossed for you.

reastie hope A is so knackered from all the screaming that she'll sleep all night long.

Grannyapple · 20/07/2011 21:57

ponyo no real signs other than the usual dribbling & chewing in his fists...he did a few mire poos (stickier than normal) & has been farting luge a trooper the past few days! I too stocked up on a&p powders but didn't use them...still time I guess Hmm

ledkr · 20/07/2011 22:19

Well Dilly also slow to settle tonight,in the end i just put her in the cot and braced myself for a battle of wills but i think she has gone off.Lets hope the late hour means abetter night altho its the first night in her own room/cot so im anticpating probs.Did anyone else find that air wrap safety bumper hard to put on?

Re the sterilising, there are many neo natal units in uk who dont sterilise, they believe parents dont wash the bottles as well if they think they are being sterilised after. I will prob losely sterilise until stop using bots as i also like them out of the way in the steamer,i dont sterilise her spoons or anything and i also give her tap water to drink Shock

reastie glad she's ok now

ponyo how long will it take him to piss you off tho? Grin my dh had acouple of child free hours from 5 as i had Ella at dancing and Dilly with Mum whilst i visited nan,he used the time well to play on the ps3.When i got in we ate then i bathed dilly and attempted to get her to sleep,at 9.15 i gave up and went down to find the place a mess and Ella still up on the pc grrrr,he was yes you,ve guessed it on the ps.I have stomped upstairs telling him to do what the f he likes from now on cos i dont care.
What is it with them and games?I know we come on here but we do stop when things need doing.

americanexpat · 20/07/2011 22:49

I sterilise bottles because we make them in advance and refrigerate - and I hang on to it for the 2 hours before chucking it since he's a snacker. I don't sterilise anything else though and give him tap water like ledkr.

reastie - have you considered natural family planning? Different than the rhythm method as you watch for signs of ovulation. I used it to get pregnant but it can be used for contraception too. The book is Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

I think L may be teething as well. It can take ages for them to finally pop through though, can't it?

janedoe25 · 21/07/2011 07:10

Well AF arrived in all her glory this morning. I really am no that bothered, i was starting to panic about fitting into my wedding dress if iwas pg! Blush I just wish my body would bloody stop with the tricks though, its very annoying!

ledkr i hope Dilly slept well last night.

reastie how was Alice?

debka · 21/07/2011 07:45

Sorry to hear AF got you jane, next time....

We had a great night- 12.20 feed, 4.30 feed then up at 7.30!! Yay!!

ledkr bloody men...

janedoe25 · 21/07/2011 07:59

Oh ledkr i feel your pain! On Tuesday night i got hold of the xbox, i played a game for nearly 2 hours just to piss DF off! Grin

Yay for bina! Enjoy your day deb

ledkr · 21/07/2011 08:21

jane oh well early days, its only the minority that get pg straight away.Id be thinking about all the champagne i could miss out on at the wedding but then i know your not a alcoholicdrinker like me Grin
That is such a great idea re the game,i have singstar so maybe ill just be sat singing when he gets home and for the next 4 hours.I dont mind him on iy just as long as he does what needs to be done too.

expat fancy you not boiling water too,i was expecting big Shock all round,i bet we'd get flamed on aibu tho.

debthat sounds better, dilly woke at 5.30 but went back after a feed and is still there now cheeky wench,i had to get up for Ella tho.She at least slept for most of the night in her big cot so im quite pleased.
Last day of term for Ella so can relax a bit foe 6 weeks.

janedoe25 · 21/07/2011 08:34

ha ha ha yes ledkr singstar sounds like a fab idea!
I used to be a drinker but after Zoe im just not that fussed. I know its early days yet, this is all very new for me though as i was pg first time with Zoe. It is all very confusing!

Right im off out for the day, hope everyone had a good one Grin

reastie · 21/07/2011 08:57

Angry just pressed the wrong button and lost a post

ledkr if I'm honest some things you do make me Shock , but then you are far more experienced than me and know you wouldn't risk anything re: dilly, it just makes me think I'm a bit ott. Plus, I remember the story you told of that mother who made bottles with warm water from the tap (not that I'd do that though) and that baby was OK Hmm

jane just think of the saying third time lucky Grin . It worked for DH and I 3rd time. 1st month was convinced I was pg and then wasn't :( 2nd month had bad thrush when ovulating so little chance of being pg anyway and 3rd month after we did 'it' pretty much every day for the whole month worked like a charm Grin .

Definately do singstar ledkr - and the louder the better Wink

after alice settled she actually wasn't too bad so no idea what on earth the screaming was about. Do babies get growing pains? She is growing alot at the min - maybe it's that Hmm [grasping at straws]

wiggles meant to say gl to mr w applying for new job. I think they should employ you with you super skilled memory though Wink

ledkr · 21/07/2011 09:32

Yeah but reastie you have me wrong,i am a mum who has only just put my nearly 6 month in her own room, uses a breathing monitor, still uses a pram not buggy and never keeps milk even for a second. Its just that i gave her water in a resturant cos she needed it tlo wash down her meds and i couldnt be arsed to explain to the turkish waiter that it needed boiling and cooling so i just carried on with it Grin I am not the confident person i like to think haha.
jane my sister took nearly a year and she is 29. Inccidentally,i have never used contra with dh and we have been together nearly 5 yrs,in the early months we were in bed at every oppotunity-to the point where we never ate just dtd-but i got pg at 42 when we had ahem-settled into married life iyswim? haha
Cheeky Dilly is still sleeping,i should get on but am loving the peace.

americanexpat · 21/07/2011 09:44

ledkr - to be fair, I've been trying water in a sippy cup and most of it runs down his chin. Grin He's really keen on the cup at first then has a look of disgust on his face when he realises it's water. Milk is a breeding ground for bacteria though so I don't risk it.

jane - sorry AF got you. Is DF working away again next month?

MizK · 21/07/2011 10:11

jane sorry your AF arrived but at least you will be slim and gorgeous for the wedding, the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are disastrous for the looks! Then you can have a honeymoon baby.....

ponyo enjoy your last day of peace before Mr P is home with you all summer!

reastie I am sure I'll be grilling you for teaching advice soon, still intimidated by organising everything in time for September, but I know if I defer it will be even harder to leave C next year!

ledkr I knew you were a secret helicopter mummy behind the breezy facade.....

debka glad you had a good night. Hope she's on her way to sleeping through for you.

Picking up Christy my 11 year old at lunchtime which means the holidays are officially starting, riot gear on standby!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 21/07/2011 10:23

Morning all, glad to hear Reastie and deb had better nights, god knows you both deserve it. B was in fine form again and I'm doing my zombie impression again today. Do you think it could be a growth spurt???

Big Grin at ledkr the helicopter mum!

Sorry to hear about AF Jane but agree that it means you'll be fine form for your wedding Smile

Right, off to work, wish me luck girls as I'm actually getting nervous now... at least I'm not teaching today.

reastie · 21/07/2011 10:49

needto good luck. hope it goes ok

ledkr so you're not as laid back as you'd have me believe then Hmm Wink

[brave] just tried alice with baby rice - her first ever taste of food. was quite uneventful - she had it in her mouth, gave me a massive 'mummy what is this disguisting stuff in my mouth' type look and dribbled it all out Hmm . really thought she was desperate for food and be a piggy and wolf it down. Maybe I should try some fruit instead next time Hmm

ledkr · 21/07/2011 11:22

reastie that is just what d does, just lets it flow back out,i just tried again for the umpteenth time, this time she thrashed about so i gave up.
Anyway,i have just booked a weekend away to weymouth,i got agood deal on a nice caravan from haven as they have a sale, cant wait it will be nice to have the sea air.Just trying to get d to sleep so i can thow afew things in a bag.Its struck me how much more relaxed i am about packing compared to when i took her at 10 wks.

wigglesrock · 21/07/2011 13:30

Afternoon all, sorry period came jane, have you fecked that x-box of out the window yet Grin

I have been giving Anna tap water to drink from about a month ago, from when we came back from holiday, funny enough we were talking about Anna and cups etc last night, she is so much better and earlier than the other 2 at using it.

Ha ha, am laughing in the face of all those who's bigger ones are stopping school - Sofia and Olivia finished at the end of June, the descent into madness started in earnest this week Grin Only 6 weeks until they go back!!

ledkr glad you got a break booked, reastie Anna not a fan of baby rice, with Sofia I tried her with porridge twice, she wasn't bothered at all, so I just left it and tried her a few weeks later - she wasn't "eating" until she was a good 6 months.

needtosleep hope work goes well.

Went to Ikea and got highchair this morning, and no food Shock. Well Mr W is off to lunch with his gay best friend, he usually sends up sweets and all manner of shiney things for the girls so I'm sure I'll not starve Grin

Pussinglads · 21/07/2011 13:35

bad night here - up every 2 hours for food and a scream. V tempted to move her into her own room to see if that helps... but I'll miss her too!

Thanks for the sterilising advice. Have got it back out of the cupboard! Thought the dishwasher was good enough, but don't want to risk a nasty sick bug. Still cross that BF didn't work - would have been so much easier! She's had a couple of tastes of tap water, but from a sippy cup, so most of it went on the floor!

wiggles did you get the MN highchair Wink? We got a cheap version of the stokke one and it's shit. Ikea, here we come...

janedoe25 · 21/07/2011 13:44

wiggles wasn't the xbox's fault was his bloody work sending him away! He is not away this week, but whats the bet that he will be away the next 2 weeks?

ledkr enjoy your break, when do you leave?

pussing sorry you had a crap night, good luck with the new room!

mizk "slim and gorgeous" PMSL, have you seen me?
