wigglesrock · 20/07/2011 15:45

ledkr fight you for Jane, I could be there quicker by plane - 50 mins away, 50 mins Grin Right Mr Ws on his way home, time to make the place look tidier, you can always tell when its Wednesday, my mum has S&O in the morning and I spent most of the time faffing about on t'internet.

janedoe25 · 20/07/2011 15:51

If it is implantion how soo would it show up on a test? If i am i will need loads of hand holding! I am pooping myself, and so nervous to test. Af is due today, but been spotting since Saturday. Confused

janedoe25 · 20/07/2011 15:54

implantion? Sorry I meant implantation, see my nerves are getting the better of me! Grin

wigglesrock · 20/07/2011 16:04

Jane I'm not great with pregnancy tests, I've only used them a few times, but I've always tested the day or day after I've been due. I am never late, regular as clockwork. I had some implantation bleeding with Anna, but not with the other two. Sending a huge, huge hug, so big you feel a tad squished and a little uncomfortable Grin

americanexpat · 20/07/2011 16:08

Ooo, jane, this is so exciting! I was going to post earlier that I had a bit of spotting with L but didn't want to get your hopes up. No advice on testing, I'd have POAS already. Grin

I saw HP yesterday as well, definitely wouldn't call it a kids' film. We watched the first film Sunday and it was really crap compared to the later films.

reastie - I have to second wiggles, who unplugs a freezer? Is everything definitely thawed? I thought it was OK for 24 hours as long as it wasn't opened.

Grannyapple · 20/07/2011 16:16

Ooh Jane fingers, toes & everything crossed for you. As wiggles says...lots & lots & lots of hugs are being sent ur way!

Right after surprise appearance of nate's first tooth in Sunday...the second one has now made an appearance! WTF?!

ledkr · 20/07/2011 16:19

oi,jane are you late then? I always feel exactly as if ill come on when pg so a positive test is always a surprise. for me.I always test when i am a few days late too.
american i am abit of a horror fan so anything that doesnt nearly give me a coronary is too tame for me haha.

ledkr · 20/07/2011 16:21

jane-no hugs from me just the voice of reason. If you are it will be great and very quick,if you aint then you soon will be,iyts not as if you dont know you can get pg either.I have been pg 6 times and each time its varied from getting pg the month i try or bloody years so no big sweat.

ledkr · 20/07/2011 16:24

oh yeah, wiggles,i have started to run low on reasons why i havent done any house work-just had a baby ran out ages ago, tired always an option,ill-sometimes,Dilly a pain-often.I seem to manage to keep my downstairs reasonable but upstairs is a flipping nightmare.
I have just got Dillys bumper so will be flinging her in her own room tonight,im sure it wont be the miracle im hoping for tho Sad

reastie · 20/07/2011 16:52

haven't fully caught up but jane I tested about 3 days before af due and got a positive Grin [hopeful]

chocoroo · 20/07/2011 17:10

Hey!

Jane Have everything crossed for you, you've nothing to lose for testing - you weren't expecting it to happen this month anyway were you?

reastie We haven't lost any spots from Sophie yet but I am also a non washer. Getting a but lax with the dummies too...

ledkr and wiggles I'm also lazy and running out of excuses for the housework. Kitchen is always pretty respectable, living room not too bad but our bedroom and the nursery are like dumping grounds. Need to sort as PIL having R tomorrow as I need to leave early afternoon to go to Manxhester for my bridesmaid duties...we have to go and see the Priest - am worried he might note I have an illegitimate child

MizK and Granny (or was it Hubbard?) Good luck with your courses! I had such a good time at uni I did an MA a year later! I did Communication and Society first time round and Broadcast Journalism second time. Both could be described as drinking degrees...

Agree with expat HP is no way a kids film! I really enjoyed it but was a but scared on my own! The 3d wasn't up to much IMO.

Right, need to go and make lists. I need to pack my stuff for Manchester and also sort R's stuff out to go to PIL. Technically DP could do it on Friday morning but I'm a bit sceptical about what he'd pack!

Pussinglads · 20/07/2011 17:31

Wow, loads to catch up on! Very quickly...

jane I tested positive a few days before period due. Worth doing - if it's not this month, it will happen soon!
Are you FFers still sterilising bottles? I have been, but as another non-rattle washer, with a baby who loves grabbing the cats, can't really see the point.
And finally, moi aussi je veux Sophie la Giraffe!

had a great day out in london today - feel more refreshed for the rest of the week. And J has started bouncing in her jumperoo. Until today, she just stood there playing with the toys. Am also making a vague effort w losing weight and already feeling better after 3 days- just cutting the cakes and crisps and chocolate out, and trying to have sensible portion sizes. So frickin' dull.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/07/2011 17:57

Jane agree with others in that I waited until a few days after I was due on but I did have some pale pink spotting. It must be so tempting to poas now but if you do you'll only want to do it again after you're due.

Thank you for all the sleep commiserations, seems to be a lot of insomniac babies about at the moment!
I'm only doing a few hours (supposedly) tomorrow and wondering if I can lock the office door and go to sleep and get paid for it

reastie I just messaged you on fb about coil, I hope the anti spasmodic pills work, have you had a period yet? Lots of women on the nhs site have commented on how bad the pain can be so youre not alone.

pussinglads I was told by hv that bottles always have to be sterilised until they're a year old (the babies not the bottles that is!). You don't need to sterilise other stuff though after 6 months, just stuff that comes into contact with milk. Not sure how accurate this is but it's what I was told, hth.

Realised earlier that b had already embarrassed me by unbuttoning my top and exposing my old bra COMPLETELY when walking to the shop with him in a sling. To be fair the buttons are loose but still...

Anyway, off for a quick nap whilst oh does the ironing and entertains b for a bit Grin

wigglesrock · 20/07/2011 18:24

pussinglads I don't sterilise bottles past 6 months, I know in some countries there aren't sterilising bottles at all now if they are cleaned in the dishwasher and left on a "bottle tree". I am one of the few people in the world that doesn't have a dishwasher, so I stop around 6-7 months.

chocoroo In case I miss you later have a fab time at the wedding, you know you are going to have to post photos - hope you catch the bouquet Grin

grannyapple 2 teeth Grin.

reastie · 20/07/2011 18:40

In need of a bit of advice and not sure where else to go - alice has been SCREAMING for an hour now. Real in pain with tears type crying. We've given her calpol and teething gel (which both shut her up for maybe a couple of mins), tried to feed her (she took a little), changed nappy, cuddled etc etc but she will not stop. I have no idea what is wrong with her. She screams madly when dh takes her (she started when dh took her so I could do dinner) and when I have her she screams but has calmed down a little but will soon wail again. DH taken her out for a walk in the hope of shutting her up. It happened after she madly chewed la giraffe for about 20 mins. She's never taken so much interest in it before and was going mad for some chewing action. Is this the reality of teething? Do they really scream so madly for long periods of time like this? Maybe she's ill? I'm being a bit pfb here but she's never been like this before and we don't know what to do Confused

Pussinglads · 20/07/2011 19:04

It sounds like teething, but what do I know? J is PFB and has no teeth!

J behaves like this when she's overtired though. The more stimulation she has in the afternoon, the longer she screams for, so I try to limit afternoon fun (not always possible). A few weeks ago, for about 2 weeks, J did this every evening for between one and three hours. Was grim, but just stopped as quickly as it had started.

Hope A stops soon.

wigglesrock · 20/07/2011 19:06

reastie Yes they can just solidly scream, Anna does it at least once a week usually for about 20 - 30 mins. It could be teeth, if it helps Olivia has been quite ill twice as a baby and the reason I knew she was properly ill and rang a doctor right away was because she was so quiet and lacklustre. Sometimes they are just giving off, Anna had a good yell for about 10 mins earlier, Mr W thinks she nipped the inside of her cheek with her mouth Hmm. Could she need a good fart?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/07/2011 19:10

Oh no reastie, that is so tough. See if the walk calms her down and give the calpol a chance to work but if no change then I really don't know but sure one of us with more experience will be on soon. Ben tends to grizzle A LOT with it but I haven't had that experience...yet. One thing that has worked for b in the past is to take him into a really quiet room with no distractions (music/tv/anything to look at) as sometimes he gets overstimulated. Really hope she feels better soon.

still screaming :( stopped for maybe half an hour for a nap, then woke up and started again. Can't feel any teeth coming through though Hmm wiggles she always needs a good fart Wink will try tummy things to see if I can help out incase that's it. better go, screaming persists and dh getting panicky Shock

ledkr · 20/07/2011 20:01

Take her in the bath with you?strip her off for naked time?Massage?Car?
If you think shes in pain get to the quacks,it may be her ear or something.

debka · 20/07/2011 20:19

reastie you poor thing, first THIS WILL PASS, second ITS NOT YOUR FAULT. Does she calm down in the car? If I'm at my wits end a drive round the block is often the answer.

Actually reastie what a shitty day you're having- much sympathy Sad. Re contraception, if you have regular periods you could try the rhythm method, we did for a while then I had Imy Grin. And cakes- pants pants pants Angry. Did you have much else in there?

granny 2 teeth, woo hoo!!

jane POAS.... Grin

S had a good old yell to herself before going off to sleep this evening- do you think this is a Good Thing or a Bad Thing? She had a later nap today so wasn't super super tired like she was yesterday. We'll see soon enough...

reastie · 20/07/2011 20:19

phew, she's asleep. It did seem like she was in pain Hmm . We gave her a dummy (she hasn't had one in over a month) and a leg wiggle and she went to sleep at last. Hopefully she's settled for night now. Goodness me not known anything like it Shock . sorry about the ranting. Hope she doesn't scream again

wigglesrock · 20/07/2011 20:29

Well done, sit down, get something to eat and breathe xxx Hope she's ok tonight.
