hi all, really heavy showers here today Hmm think 40 made the right decision not going to this kent show thing.

I've been a domestic godess this afternoon and made a massive cake for my mums bday party next week end (well, 4 cakes that will all go together) and 2 smoked salmon and watercress quiches which have gone in the freezer towards the christening buffet.

ledkr thought dilly was getting along quite well with food Hmm . In the past week alice has started staring deeply at dh or I whenever we eat or drink anything - it's really quite off putting Wink . Still not even attempted giving her any food of any kind although if she continues like this I may in a couple of weeks give her a teeny tiny mouthful of baby rice and see what happens.

american sounds like some tiring antics last night. Hope things are better tonight

jane Shock re: fil. I sort of felt sorry for him when I read what had happened, but then, I remembered all the nasty things he's done and the fact that he was so ill due to his own inability to self medicate Hmm (liek wiggles said, he's a silly sausage!) . I can imagine that was such a shock/worry for you though. Has the x box been locked up yet?

ledkr hope you feel better soon - hope it wasn't me that gave something to you Wink .

wiggles will you let us know how your sisters scan goes tomorrow? Bet she's very nervous/excited.

Still feeling down here but like ledkr said think it's feeling under the weather that makes it worse.

janedoe25 · 17/07/2011 17:50

check you out reastie Anthea turner has some competition from you Grin

Xbox is still alive, not that it matters now as AF is round the corner, (had some pink spotting when wiping) Sad

Hope everyone is ok.

We have my sisters boyfriends 30th party tonight and i really can not be bothered i just want to snuggle up on the couch!

Pussinglads · 17/07/2011 18:36

evening all. I feel your pain about the baby weight! I was a right smug cow after having J, as all my preg weight dropped off and I was skinny. Since then, a combination of constant coffee and cakes, and eating junk food all day, means I'm really unhappy with podgy tummy. Tempted to dig out mat jeans!!

40 a paella tent?! Need one. (despite comments above).
doe sorry to hear that AF is en route. There is a teeny advantage though - break the xbox and blame it on pmt Grin. Hope tonight is less eventful!
ledkr wtf is going on? your ILs are starting to sound normal!!
expat in solidarity. Here's to a better night tonight Wine.

Deliaskis · 17/07/2011 18:54

Hi ladies,

well am on hols being rained on and wind-blown in not so sunny north wales. Hideous weather all day today.

DH snuck the laptop in (didn't think we'd have room) so here I am, mning in a caravan whilst DH gives C her bedtime bottle.

Well Friday night we skipped the dreamfeed with no ill-effects. Last night (first night in caravan) another story. Massive noisy rainstorm at 2.30am and C woke up and after an hour would not re-settle so I ended up doing a night feed which I haven't done since 7 weeks!!!!! Oh dear. So bit of a step backwards but hoping it's just a one-off, got woken by noise, in a strange place etc. Feeling particularly put out as completely not used to night wakings anymore.

reastie sorry you've been feeling blue, don't be so hard on yourself, you're doing amazingly, and you know what, this is just about the most stressful thing we can do, so if the weight is not dropping off you right now, don't let it get you down. It's still just a few months since our LOs arrived and we have enough to worry about without stressing about weight.

I thought of you the other day, as I remembered your pic of A dressed in a winter coat and tights that your DH had randomly selected for her. Well Saturday morning, we were packing to come away, DH was doing C's breakfast bottle, and he shouts upstairs..."does she have this warm or cold" and I thought WTF I heated it already, well anyway, he had given her the bottle (result!), but taken it up on himself to give her some solids too (fine), but out of the fridge, he could have selected porridge, creamy rice breakfast, or mixed veg medley (carrot, cauli, peas and spuds), and what did he choose, yeah, the mixed veg. I keep sniggering now thinking of poor C being fed cauli and peas for breakfast! She did look a bit baffled and kind of pleading for a more sensible breakfast.

Yesterday was OK but today has been shi!te due to midnight feast for C. We did go and visit a pal though who lives near here and has a baby 3 weeks younger than C, so it was nice to see her.

Anyway, that's it from stormy north wales, hopefully C won't wake tonight fingers crossed.

D

debka · 17/07/2011 19:38

delia really hope the weather cheers up for you and you can have a good time. Thank goodness DH put the laptop in! I'm sure C will do better tonight, it will have just been a blip.

ledkr glad PiLs are being normal :)

jane buggeration, although you didn't think this month would be your month. If you get pg next month the baby will be born in May which I always think is the best month for a birthday.

reastie or should I say nigella well done on the kitchen front- I managed to reheat 2 pizzas today Grin

Well after last night's feed-refusal at bedtime I fed S before her bath, then at bedtime I just put her straight in her cot- she went straight off to sleep! Weird baby.

Who was it asking about food? S had a pizza crust to gnaw on tonight and then some ice cream to keep her quiet whilst I ate my pudding

Ah expat it was you- what a grim grim night, much sympathy. TBH I don't think baby rice will make any much difference- milk has more calories. Is he getting enough sleep during the day? Perhaps he's overtired? Good luck tonight.

Watching Britain's Top Model now, I NEVER watch this sort of thing but I'm loving it! Blush

ledkr · 17/07/2011 20:13

I like that too deb,air head tv,Will anyone be joining me in a watch of the apprentice final tonight? My cold is horrrible,i went to bed with dilly but its to boring up there as nobody remembers im ill.Dilly was so tired she went to bed about 6.45 so i am anticipating an early start tomorrow.
delias my worst nightmares-a holiday in this country, caravan and rain,id be on the next plane,we brits are so funny arent we?sit in a tin box playing scrabble and we think its a break.I remember in April when we went to the caravan in Essex,Dilly was awfull, woke all flippin night then early and i had to keep her quiet whilst drinking tea from small cups watching 4 tv channels=night screen anyone?or jezza kyle re runs?It was when i got home that i really relaxed cos i appreciated my home so much. The forcast is a bit better isnt it?The luch for breakfast is so what my dh would have done.
Delilah was naked when i got her up this morning, she had kicked off her pj bottoms and pulled her arms out of her top so it was just around her neck Hmm
reastie glad you feel better,i feel strangely disapointed at the lack of pil annoyance.
ex pat i aggree about the day naps making night better,it is singularly the thing that consistently works for us,d went to sleep exhausted tonight so will wake early or even before.
pussing i am a whole size bigger and ww is very slow not that ive done it for days,i really want to get it off but like you i feel caught ion a cycle of coffee with nice things and producing hearty meals.
I did roast chicken today with dauphinois and sweet potato mash and cabbage, all served with a jus-not gravy-jus

debka · 17/07/2011 20:21

God ledkr that sounds gorgeous, any left?

pussing but i am now a ssssssssize sssssixteen,i bloody hate it,need to get back into the shredding but its so humid at the mo i cant be arsed.Anyone coming over to the apprentice final thread, its usually quite funny.

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 20:47

Have now lost 2 very long and exceptionally witty posts!!!!

Mr W is beside himself re Apprentice, he is currently watching the womens world cup final - its a win, win tv night for him Grin.

Anna has her hip check in the morning, its an automatic referral because she was breech but you still feel a bit worried about it.

reastie my sisters scan is tomorrow afternoon, she really nervous but my mum is going with her so that should be reassuring Hmm Grin

40Weeks · 17/07/2011 20:59

Good luck for tomorrow wiggles my post also was in incredibly witty and "deep" so double doo doos for our fellow thread-mates

reastie · 17/07/2011 21:16

ledkr I have a theory that all our PIls are on gransnet and lurking on our thread and then moaning about us on their own thread Wink . Hope you feel better top quick. I really Grin and Shock re: dilly declothing herself in her cot. I can't beat your posh jus Hmm

delia hope the holiday perks up and hopefully it was just settling in probs with C in the night. whereabouts in wales are you? We stayed in snowdonia area (forget where other that somewhere half an hour away from porthmadog) and the weather was awful Shock . Think it's a wales thing. Btw I Grin at unusual breakfast choice

puss will msg back, just trying to watch apprentice tonight Grin

wiggles I'll be looking out for 2 bits of news tomorrow from you then - the hip thing and the scan thing

hubbard86 · 17/07/2011 21:39

she'll be fine wiggles. They're so simple. If you put anna in a dress you won't even need to undress her. The scans are pretty quick too.

ledkr · 17/07/2011 21:52

still lurking hubbard i see,how goes it?

WeAreBorg · 17/07/2011 22:03

I never get to watch the apprentice, DH doesn't like it Sad
wiggles good luck for the scan, sure it will be fine!

I think we're all surely a size bigger at least right? Anything less is not normal and those people should be banned from civilised discussions. I blame the breast feeding, Nate feeds about 8 times a day so I therefore feed that often too and we both put on weight, voila.

debka Shock at your PIL wedding story, I would never forgive someone for ruining my wedding day.

Over in crap sleepers corner (deb, expat, puss and anyone else) Nate actually had possibly his best night ever, he slept till 230, then 6, Dh brought him into bed and managed till 7. 7! Not 5! I count that as one wake up which I think is a first for us!! I am not expecting a repeat, just enjoying the glow of rest.

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 22:05

hubbard hello, nice to see you Grin I know Olivia had them, but she was a lot younger than 5 months and a lot more pliable Grin Have visions of Anna just refusing to lie still!!! Good tip re dress, off to hunt for one that is suitable for the bloody freezing weather Grin

ledkr well - are you happy with the result? Have you patented your special loo roll yet? Grin

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 22:09

WeAreBorg Anna gets up a few times during the night - she goes to bed around 7pmish, would feed around 11pmish, and then get up during the night and then up for the day around 6.30am, she's very quick to feed when she gets up, which is half the battle. Yay for Nate last night!!

hubbard86 · 17/07/2011 22:34

i'm ok ledkr, hardly know what to say sometimes so i tend not to say anything.
Wiggles If you put tights on you can just pull them off as you go in. Didn't realise you had them with olivia. They can be very daunting if you've not had them before. So long as they are between 60 and 70 degrees thats classed as normal.

Grannyapple · 17/07/2011 22:35

Hi ladies....boo to the crap sleepers & yeah to the wee ones getting there! Nate was up at 5am this morning but he only does that occasionally...he's normally down for 7pm,dream feed at 10.30pm & then goes thru til 6.30/7am,so 5am felt crap this morning!

He was well cranky last night when we were at our friends for dinner...but this morning he bit my finger & there was a definite nip...was well sharp! Wee soul has cut his 1st tooth! I was well shocked...thought we had a few months yet before that happened?!

reastie hang on in there...everyone is at least 1 size bigger than pre preggo...as everyone says,I think we all expect results too quickly (me included!).

Here's to lots of well behaved sleeping babies tonight!!

wiggles good luck for the scan tomorrow...sure all will be fine! Think
I missed a bit of news from the previous thread but is ur sister preggo...is that the one that recently got married?

40 my friend tells me the party was fab...think she has only just started to feel a bit normal the past few hours after a god awful hangover Smile

ledkr... impressed that IL's have been better...but kinda disappointed...there's no entertainment value in them being 'normal' Grin

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 22:39

hubbard I was all over the place when Olivia had them Sad, they kept saying "don't worry, she's all right", then ringing me the next day and saying "she's just on the cusp, could you bring her back in 8 weeks", this went on for about 6 months or so. I have very awkward little buggers beautiful babies, they love being breech Grin. Don't worry about saying things on here, I just spout shite all most of the time!!

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 22:42

grannyapple sorry x posted - yup, she got married end of March, she thinks she's due third week of January, vvv excited but a bit shocked it happened so quickly, not as shocked as my Mum Grin

ledkr · 17/07/2011 23:38

wiggles you lurker you,yes im happy about the result, hope scan is good news and not too stressfull.
D has already been awke once for calpol and a drink,i think she has my cold,at one point i tore up the stairs to see to her and Ella was crying too as she couldnt sleep, twas like flaming mad house. Off to sleep now hopefully for the whole night.
