deb goodness me what a day Shock . I completely understand your bad feelings to iLS - they really sound horrific and nasty thoughtless people Angry . Off topic but we had those sort of wedding photos too - a few stages but mostly just capturing what was happening.

reastie · 16/07/2011 11:01

debka - Shock and Angry at your ILs. This thread has made me thankful for my ILs who are flaky but harmless.

Pussinglads - I read it as pussing lads too. Grin Wasn't sure if it was slang I don't know because I'm a dirty foreigner.

Mixed night here too. He was up a lot to eat, straight back to sleep. He woke at 5 as usual but after a feed, went back to sleep on his own until 6.30! He went to bed earlier than usual last night, closer to 7 than 8, not sure if that's just a coincidence. Almost 12 hours is very good for him, now we just need to cut all the feeds during the night! We've also been putting him in his cot for naps with mixed results.

Gotta run, crying baby...

byronicheroine · 16/07/2011 14:36

deb :o at your wedding, I hope you have some nice memories of your day to focus on (although god knows I know how bloody hard that is!). Thanks for the Jeremy Kyle fix anyway ;)
40 have fun at the party, sounds like fun
44me also approve of your post lady's comment re. weather, but I know how difficult it is to live it. I don't own any wellies (any more) but might invest as my parents live down an unpaved track in the devon wilds :)
Lazy lazy day here after our wild night out (loved the HP8 film but then again I am a bit sad )
We've got FIL arriving later and I'm just avoiding even thinking about it. Will be back to compete with led with our stories

Pussinglads · 16/07/2011 14:44

hello all
another typical night here - bed at 7, up at 11, 2, 4 and 8. Grrr. Thinking of moving J to her own room to see if that helps (she's 5 and a bit months). BUT I like having her next to me! (We kind of co-sleep - she's in a bedside cot). Also, if it doesn't make a difference, I'll have further to go to feed her!

reastie and ledkr Can I join your john B hate club? He makes my skin crawl. DH keeps threatening to write in and get him to come and surprise me.

40weeks I'm in the East Mids. But today I wish I was in Kent - I want to party! Especially if there's a bouncy castle. Look fwd to hearing about the adult apparatus!

debka your ILs leave me speechless! Will remember that whenever mine start to bug me!

As for babyhood realities, I often feel I'm the only one covered in sick with unwashed hair, and that everyone else looks like a Boden model.

off to check out the house again. It's got potential to be a dream home - just need to sell ours, and totally renovate it! love a bit of property porn though...

reastie · 16/07/2011 15:01

I'm in kent, can I come play with the adult apparatus? Wink

debka · 16/07/2011 19:26

Quiet on here today....

Just put the Bean in bed- decided to just stick her in her cot since she was crying instead of having her last feed. Little bugger only went to SLEEP- she's going to be up at 9 hungry, I just know it.... Actually, knowing her, it'll be 9.30, 5 minutes after I've gone to sleep.

Numerous old ladies have referred to her as 'a little doll', in fact at the show yesterday someone did a massive double take at her asleep in the pushchair, then said to me she thought she was a (you guessed it) little doll. Anyway, in Sainsbury's cafe today, she started grinning at someone behind me. Turned around, there's an old bloke smiling at her. I said something, which he didn't respond to, he then said to his wife- 'bebe c'est une petite marionette', which, unless my crap French fails me is something along the lines of that baby is a little doll!! Grin

Hope you've all enjoyed your bbqs, what a day for them, hey! Also hope those with PiLs are surviving. :)

wigglesrock · 16/07/2011 20:09

Hello all,
debka avert your eyes if you are of a delicate disposition, one word for your pils - wankers.

Hope everyone had a lovely day today, and the weather didn't disappoint / ruin anything. Our wellies managed to stay stored in the boot of the car!!

We went away for the day, dodging the rain, which we managed to do quite successfully Grin. Girls had great night at my mums, complete with a trip to McDonalds about 5 mins after I had left them Grin. Had lovely sleep, Anna got up around 2am for quick feed, then slept until 6.30am - bliss!! But if I'm very honest I missed S&O, it was a bit too quiet although it was a bit too noisy about 5 mins after we all got home!!

40Weeks Couldn't resist, nipped down to Next sale at 7.30am, we all can't be VIPS Grin, got some bits and pieces for me and not girls Shock.

Ledkr Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine

jane please tell me the xbox is off huffing in the corner somewhere Wink

Oh chocoroo and pussinglads Anna moved onto the fast flow teats, looks like no problems, thanks.

reastie · 16/07/2011 21:12

wiggles I must get more sleep - I just read your post saying 'dodging the rain' as 'dogging in the rain' Blush Shock . Glad you had a nice day.

deb I looked again at your piccies of bean and she doesn't look too doll like in them Hmm

Boring day here. DH went searching the loft for another pushchair we have been given in prep for alice being able to use it as it's smaller tan our travel system but turns out it wasn't there and we think MIL has kept it saying we can use it for when alice visits her there (although we never go anywhere without the pram/pushchair anyway so why we need to keep one there is Hmm ). So will have to arrange visit to collect it at some point. We found while we were up there a posh back baby/toddler carrier we forgot we had though Grin Grin

If I'm honest I had quite a bad day today Feeling really emotionally fragile and hard to cope with everything and really depressed about how much weight I've put on Blush .

So how do you get to be a next VIP?

Where's ledkr with a PIl update? I'm waiting with baited breath Grin

wigglesrock · 16/07/2011 22:29

Sad Reastie - how you doing now? I had a weight wobble earlier, I don't put weight on during pregnancy and lose a bit after the baby is born but it starts to creep on after about 6 or so months and I think I've put a little on over the past few weeks. I think if you aren't sleeping well you tend to eat crap, like lots of biscuits, comfort food etc but maybe that's just me Hmm

You are doing really well with Alice, just take a think back to when you were pregnant, you didn't think you'd be able to cope and look at you, you're feeding away, being arsey to your mil Grin, getting out and about with Alice to your classes.

Maybe you could try and do something for you, just something small, I know you find it hard to leave A but maybe get out on your own for an hour or so. You don't have to go far - a cafe with a magazine? Do you think you're feeling fragile after your cbt session on Friday. Do keep posting, we are all here for you xx

Grannyapple · 16/07/2011 23:07

Hey 40 my RL name is Lynda..sorry I didn't reply earlier...was driving to a friends in Kent (BBQ rained off so meal indoors instead)...was lovely but Nate didn't like having his routine upset!!

Hope party went well...haven't heard from Faye so hoping she's fairly hammered by now Grin

debka · 17/07/2011 07:52

If there's anyone about- good morning (morning) (morning)

Had a pretty good night- S woke just as I was about to go to bed at 9.30 so I fed her then went to bed myself. Feed at 2.30 then up at 6.

reastie I think we all feel a bit wobbly from time to time, you're not alone. I second what wiggles said, you are doing wonderfully well, don't be too hard on yourself. Re weight, it took 9 months to go on and 9 to come off, and Alice is only 5 months. Plenty of time yet. I think the main thing is to eat healthily and be as active as you can, and not beat yourself up over it. I really need to listen to my own advice, I also am lighter than ever after giving birth then gain afterwards, probably because of eating crap due to being tired too.

Looking forward to hearing the PiL stories.....

reastie I think it's because she is the size of a 3mo, and we sit her on the table when we're out and she just sits up looking around, like a 6/7mo would! Plus she's got big blue eyes and a round little doll's face (look I've started now too!), and blonde spiky hair. or maybe it's the dolls clothes I dress her in Grin

ledkr · 17/07/2011 08:45

Morning deb, glad your night was bearable, dilly had alate night as we went to dinner but she actually slept untill 7.45 but before you think im bragging i will tell you she was up at 2.30 the night before for no apparent reason,i gave her some water (out of the tap!not boiled)and calpol ans she went back off to the sound of the hairdryer.Dilly is doll like deb,i think its the round eyes and she is very aware too.Oh yeah and Shock and Angry at your pil.

reastie you are also feeling ill mate so dont over think things, its always worse when you feel ill,i get very down with weight too as you know,i am doing ww and its easy but very slow, why dont you start it with me and we can have a daily compare,in the meantime use those pil visits to do your hair and make up,i try to preen often now as it makes me feel less concerned about my weight, hope you feel better today.

I promise i red all your posts but cant reply to all but thanks for the positive nosey thoughts re pil.
expat he does seem to be getting the jist of the nights now doesnt he?I s he on solids?

Ok then,no real news here pil wise. They came about 11 yesterday and have been ok,i was out a lot of the day but i encouraged her to care for Dily eg.why dont you bath her as you never see her.She did and seemed to enjoy it,i felt a bit guilty as maybe she just needed my permission to "help" they paid for dinner "aleluja" and on the whole were ok.They are going today so theres time yet to p me off but i think maybe me and dh being assertive has tipped the balance, well that and the prozac hahaha.

Something funny happened yesterday tho.Ela was playing with Dilly and she was obviously a bit rough cos Dilly did that loud cry that makes your hackles go up. I picked her up and asked El what happened, she denied it but Dilly was looking over my shoulder and everytime she saw Ella she cried louder and kinds of did shouty growl at her.even Ella knew she'd been rumbled and admitted she'd waggled her arms a bit too hard but i cant tell you how definate it was that Dilly was telling her off,so weird.

40Weeks · 17/07/2011 09:25

Morning all

Dilly is a chip off the old block then ledkr ha ha, so glad the visit was better, may this be the start of things to come

well the party was great, they had a paella tent and when we were finished eating, a pink ice cream van pulled up the drive for dessert! Thomas kept asking for £1, he couldn't grasp that is was free. Only down side is I bust my hand on the bucking bronco, it's so sore today. They had a gyroscope too but I didn't go on that.

Also, remember I said the GP told me that bfing should be sufficent birth control??? Thank god I didn't take her advice as I got AF back yesterday which means I would most likely be pregnant by now had I taken her advice!!! Still, at least I can get the coil fitted now. Yippee [sarcastic emoticon]

wiggles VIP or not I still went to the next Sale at 6am yesterday. Just to be sure....

Hmmm we bumped off the plan to go to Kent County Show due to weather and it's bloody sunny now!

OP posts:
reastie · 17/07/2011 11:12

guten morgen to all

deb hello (hello) (hello)

ledkr I'm glad PIL not being too bad (so far). Just be careful with your 'since you don't see her that often do you want to bath her' comments don't get digested as 'why don't you come over more to see her' Shock Wink

40 roll on coil fitting Confused and Shock to bfing being birth control - my GP made some such similar comment

I looked on next sale yesterday but no amazing bargains that I fancied.

DH gone shopping (to the nugent 40 ) to take back various items which don't fit/have broken. We're both in a bad mood today. Not sure what his problem is other than he's desperate for some action or fed up with me being so useless Hmm or fed up of the house being a dump (you wouldn't know it was gleaming just days ago :( ). I still feel really down but thanks wiggles deb and led for your lovely comments. Sometimes I wonder if I have pnd as I get so down sometimes, but then, it's not all the time. ledkr I'm not sure if I could manage ww. I have a really restricted diet anyway and am really struggling with hunger/low blood sugar feelings all the time with bfing. I've tried eating less/more good stuff to stave off hunger/home cooking everything healthy etc but I feel like I'm going to be sick or faint (or both) from dizziness just by cutting back a tiny amount Shock . Have posted on bfing to see if this is normal and it seems some (unlucky) people are just like that and will put on weight bfing whatever they do. Feels like the self I was prepreg is just a distant memory at the minute.

Right, alice finally asleep so while dh out I'm going to see if I can manage to make my mums bday cake.

janedoe25 · 17/07/2011 11:35

Morning all! reastie hugs to you, hope you feel better soon.

ledkr glad the pils are ok, must be a huge relief!

40 i am so jelous! The party sounds amazing!

Well i had an eventful night, got a phone call around 9pm that fil had colapsed, so i drove over to his house and he looked dreadful. We called an ambulance which took 2 hours Shock we had to call 999 again as he started to vomit pure blood. Was tres scarey! He is ok thankfully. the silly sod had taken too many gout tablets which caused him to bleed internally. I know i have my gripes with him, but god did i get a fright last night!

ledkr · 17/07/2011 11:43

jane, cant help thinking you should have used afew choice phrases to pil like he did to you but glad hes ok.
40I am finding gps increasingly stupid at the mo,dont trust them one bit.Party sounds fab.I was in Ibiza with kids afew yrs ago and kept going on the bronco, some lads were cheersing me on and i felt very popular, then ds3 reminded me that i was wearing a short skirt and the guys were getting an eyefull everytime i climbed on or fell off Blush
reastie as you like, but im still here to be a fat friend should you need it Grin im finding ww very good to be honest.
I am feeling ill today, ear ache and sore throat,on my own with kids, just off to walk to the shops for some supplies for aharry potter afternoon, very un ww supplies i might add.

wigglesrock · 17/07/2011 12:01

Morning, reastie hope you feel a little brighter soon, why don't you make an appt and have a chat to your GP or HV, when is your next cbt appt - is it every Friday?

ledkr progress with the pils - who'd have thunk it Grin

jane hope pil starts to feel a bit better, its really is a shock when you get a phone call like that! Silly sausage - hope he appreciates how much you love him.

40Weeks I'm trying to avoid going back to Next today for a nosy at homeware stuff Blush

Its bucketing here and dark and cold Shock Up at Mums for the day, sister is coming up so my mum can cater for her every whim, make her cups of tea Grin She has her first scan tomorrow, she hasn't told her work yet and because of the long hours in her job, she can't wait to and start to get a more realistic schedule.

americanexpat · 17/07/2011 13:16

reastie - I am Angry at your DH if he's making you feel useless. He should be helping with the housework if he's not already and maintaining the house is as much his responsibility as yours. Taking care of Alice is a full-time job, especially as I think you said she feeds a lot during the day. It's so easy to feel down about our weight (you're not the only one) but we spent 9 months growing our babies which is bloody hard work and you had it much more difficult than most. The midwives promote BFing as a way to lose your pregnancy weight but a lot of women I've spoken to haven't lost it until they stopped BFing. If you feel like you're ready to lose weight, give it a go but don't feel bad about stopping if you feel poorly. I've had good luck with Weight Watchers (going back soon Hmm) because you eat the food you want to and count points for it. Sorry for the novel. Grin

ledkr - I hope things keep improving with the PILs. DH admitted last night that he has better PILs than I do. Grin

jane - that sounds scary! I second ledkr's suggestion of saying some arsey but well done on being the bigger person.

wiggles - meant to say happy 5 month birthday to Anna too! I can't believe they're already 5 months. Shock And LOL at dogging in the rain.

Rough night here. L was up at 10, 12, 2, 3 and 4.30. It seemed like he was going to sleep after the 4.30 feed but woke up instead. We tried to resettle him until 6 then put him in the swing where he fell asleep instantly. Angry He seemed to be caught in a cycle of too hungry to sleep, too tired to eat. He's taking a bit of baby rice before bed but I wonder if we should be offering more. How much is everyone's baby eating?

ledkr · 17/07/2011 14:54

dilly eats everything but food tbh.fingers clothes paper just not food. She growls at me if i try to put food in her mouth, she is 6 months on the 27th so not sure what to do,cant do blw bollox as she may choke with her cleft which is ashame cos she sucks on stuff all the time.
