wiggles It was 11 Feb.
Thanks for the welcome back everyone :)

Emski76 · 15/07/2011 18:57

Love the vocal Borg!
Reastie, I will be on my 6th session next week, I think I can have a few more if I need it, but I do think, as someone else said, if you do your homework and practice the skills they give you, you'll be surprised at how quickly you feel better. I've gone thru so much therapy in my life and this is the first time I feel I understand and can leave behind some things that happened in my childhood. I've had some real 'lightbulb' moments. I hope it works for you too.
Four4, fantastic about your milk donation, what a fab thing to do. Would love to see the milk exchange.
Puss, Josie is a gorgeous name.

Hi puss glad things are good.
Know what you mean about how hard it is just to get out of the house... When DP complains mentions anything I'm just like "welcome to my life" but I still think he just does not get it.
44me so impressed with the donation, I bet those mums had an "approved" reaction but then thought about it when they got home and realised how amazing it is. I only have enough for guzzle guts but if I didn't I'd be really happy there were people like you around!
Ok, gotta go. DP's aunt is up from the village allowing us a rare night out together :) so... Harry Potter it is then (DP hasn't moaned too mch at all :o )
have good nights everyone

Sorry pussinglads did you out of that all important ounce originally - ouch Grin

Pussinglads · 15/07/2011 19:25

I know! How ruuude Grin.

ILovePonyo · 15/07/2011 19:45

Hey all, and hello puss nice to 'meet' you Grin I wasn't about much on ante natal thread so you prob won't remember me, love the name Josie, congrats.

Good god have I had a grumpy girl today, I thought when babies were hungry they were meant to, you know, drink milk or something, not scream and fuss and generally be a pain in the bum Confused
wiggles despite what I've just said I think the size 3 teats are ok, she used to tire herself out before and the teats kept collapsing so thought it was time to change.
puss how are you getting on with size 3's? Maybe dd wants food not milk as I've been giving her baby rice, bu most of it gets dribbled back out...

Grin at everyone talking about how they imagined mat leave to be, I can relate to that! Right now I can't remember quite how I pictured it when pg, but I know it did not involve trying to feed a baby that is hungry but won't drink anything. Oh, I did imagine baby bath time to be nice and fun and snuggly afterwards, well bath time is fun but she's still a screamer when I get her out Hmm

44me shame about the other mums reaction re: milk donation, am a bit surprised really, it can only be a good thing no?

byronic enjoy the Potter, I have never read a Harry Potter book or seen any of the films but we have borrowed films 1-4 so need to have a HP marathon soon.

jane turn off that bloody xbox, you've got more important things to be doing Wink

emski hope the horrible cold goes soon, I know what you mean about sucking brains out with that sucker thing, I thought that too! dd rolls onto her front, sometimes she likes it, sometimes she doesn't funny thing.

Right better go and do something useful before my dinner arrives - chinese for us tonight Grin Have a good night everyone

debka · 15/07/2011 19:48

Evening all,

Wrote a lovely long thoughtful post this morning then my bloody fingers deleted the whole bloody lot. Angry

It's all irrelevant now anyway cos chat has moved on without me

So... welcome back puss, I've been pondering your name, originally i thought you were puss-in-glads, now I'm thinking maybe you're pussing-lads which sounds oddly rude and I rather like Grin

borg, fellow bad sleeper's mum, glad you had a better night. Ours was better too but still up and down like a yoyo, 3 feeds and the regular 5am suck-and-sleep. We were up at 6.15.

Went to the Kent Show today which was nice, but I had Bina in the sling and pushed Imy in the pushchair the whole day ,felt like a full body work out! yes yes I know she's a mini doll baby but 12.3 is quite a lot hung round your neck all day! DH had the cheek to complain that he was aching after having the dog (jack russell not bloody st bernards), I told him he was a nob Grin

Saw PiLs at the show, lucky me. As an aside, they almost ruined my wedding, actually they did ruin it- anyway my mum and I were talking about it the other day, I was telling her how I'm not talking to MiL any more after her being such a c**t (sorry but she was) when we were at the show, and she told me that DH's aunt told her (my mum) at the wedding that I had the MiL from hell!

reastie you are normal and lovely and I would really miss you if you weren't here. :)

40weeks you suggested yesterday giving S water at night- I've thought about that too, but she's never had a bottle (I don't even have one), plus her being so titchy I think she needs the milk. Sigh. Good job she's cute.

wiggles you made me Grin with your lack of sympathy for your girls. My sister hurt her wrist when she was little- I sent her to bed and told her to pull herself together. Next day at A&E they said she'd broken it! Shock

Someone (can't remember who, sorry) was saying their baby isn't as good as the others because they weren't rolling over yet- S hasn't rolled yet either, she just manages onto her side and that's it.

Sorry for mammoth post! Biscuit to all who made it to the end!

debka · 15/07/2011 19:50

x post ponyo can't believe you've not experienced Harry Potter, lucky you having all that to come!

Pussinglads · 15/07/2011 20:00

debka Our DDs sound similar - no rolling here, and she's also up 3 times in the night and then starts the day at 5ish . She's getting water tonight though - evil Grin.

I was puss-in-glads, but I much prefer pussing lads.

hello ponyo.

Mad Men time... see y'all tomorrow.

Four4me · 15/07/2011 20:23

byron enjoy your night out!

Phew crazy evening over and all children tucked up for the night.

Thanks for the support about the milk donation, I think the way I told them didn't help. I just sprung it on them. My dh keeps saying he is going to hand over the 'goods' and tell him to 'go, drive, drive and don't look back' he is strangely excited by it all!

Dh has gone to our friends to put up some gazebos for a BBQ tomorrow and the forecast is dreadful.

To those enjoying takeaways 'yom yom' as my lovely Tommy would say!

ledkr · 15/07/2011 21:07

omg,can i be let off individual comments pleeeeese? I actually started writing notes but felt ridiculous but i have read all of your posts i promise.
reastieJohn barrowman makes my teeth itch too,me and dh have a kind of private joke about him but i dont know what it is exactly,i made him a jb moonpig card and he texts me to remind me if he's on tv Hmm

You'd think id know better about the realities of babyhood but i too had visions of me and dh chillin on the sofa with a sleeping quiet baby on our laps who wanted for nothing. How wrong i was Grin tis tough times for sure and just when you think you've cracked it you're wrong!

Puss dont know if i remember you but Hello, josie is a cute name.

Have been busy sorry all,d has been ok but ive had a bit of insomnia, prob pmt.Actually Dilly has been hillarious, she keeps snogging me.She knows when i pick up Ella now and gets so excited when we cross the field and is so chuffed when she sees El.Apparently she was playing polly pocket earlier.
wiggles hope you are enjoying your evening and dont get pregnant Grin
Just watching 8 out of 10 cats and they said Vic Beckham looked like a snake who just ate abig mouse when she was pg.Chortle.
Its so hot here tonight, unbearable.Pils tomorrow so ill keep you posted.

reastie · 15/07/2011 21:31

ledkr glad to see you back. I had images of you swaying to and fro banging your head on the wall and mumbling nonsense and dribbling with stress of the upcoming pil visit Hmm (or is that just a regular ledkr friday night out minus the banging head - which you save for the hangover the next day Wink )

puss josie was on our list too Grin . we only didnt pick it because of something to do with a josie we know Hmm

I think wiggles should be on the fifth second bottle of wine now with her tv and takeaway night

alice a little nightmare tonight - v overtired and spent an hour screaming Shock dh dumped her with me gone to sleep. she looks like she's nearly asleep - please let her sleep please let her sleep Wink

44me I dont think anything odd re: milk donation for babies that need it at all, infact I think it's really fab. mil, on the other hand, loves telling the story that she once bf another child when she was looking after a friends baby and it needed feeding before the mum was back Shock . I can see it makes sense but if I'm honest the thought of that freaks me out a little Confused

oh no shes awake and crying again...

reastie · 15/07/2011 21:34

deb please tell what happened re pils ruining your wedding. i know you've mentioned this before but i don't think we got the full story [nosey]

40Weeks · 15/07/2011 21:44

Hello all
Quick hello while dh is in the loo as he is well hacked with how much time I am on mn!

Hi puss welcome to the fold, congrats on the birth of Josie. Where abouts in the world are you based?

deb how was the Kent show? We were supposed be going on Sunday but weather forecast is shocking. Really wanted to go today to see the Arab horses. Sunday is donkeys! Hahahahahahaha. How on earth did pils ruin your wedding? Let us at 'em the gits!

wiggles if you're still here/awake, bugger off and give the legendary Mr W a snuggle, enjoy your night of 66% more rest than normal

44me can you arrange it so that dh wears a giant squirrel costume for the handover to add to the fun, a la Dom Joly? Good on you, btw.

Jane any joy with Hobbicraft/invites?

reastie how was cbt session then?

Hello everyone else sorry running out of time! Have to go and listen to golf news (aghast emoticon)

reastie I hope A is asleep

40 tell dh to weesht, we need you here on mn!

God, bored is not the word for it! I may have to take a hammer to the freaking xbox, the dude stopped playing only to eat dinner. Angry

AF should be due on wednesday, im not holding any hopes this month though as df was working away at the crucial time. Boo!

wigglesrock · 15/07/2011 22:40

I love the way you are all casting doubt on my lovely refined night in with Mr W Grin. Wine has been consumed by Mr W but not by me. Alcohol = cigs for me and really trying not to restart again Grin

Lovely Chinese dinner, so nice I ate it all!!! Snuggles with the big man but nothing else, no siree bob, we've already had maritals this week, twice in one week, it's not feckin' Christmas Grin

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, well ledkr as nice as it can be Hmm.

tadjennyp · 15/07/2011 23:28

Hello, loads of chatting today, it's so hard to keep up! Welcome back Puss, Josie is a lovely name! Glad everyone's night's were a little better. Hope you all get lie-ins tomorrow.

Glad you had a lovely evening wiggles, hope you murdered the xbox Jane. Good luck with all the visitors of the weekend, will be thinking of you especially ledkr.
I got all the kids to have quiet time at the same time today! First time ever! I hope that you all have great weekends and all the little ones play ball.

hubbard86 · 15/07/2011 23:46

jane i've not gone anywhere just lurking, it's nice to be missed though. Chop the plug off the xbox or take the batteries out the controller. :)
I must be one of the lucky ones as freya seems to sleep for england. In bed by half 7 till 7 bottle than sleeps again till atleast half 8. Feel a little guilty as i thought she had nappy rash but took her to the drs as it wasn't clearing and she's got thrush poor little mite. Freya doesn't roll either so your not alone. She sometimes pushes herself on her back and ends up banging her head on cars or trains if we're not carefull. We tried her on mango this afternoon, seems to be a winner.

40Weeks · 16/07/2011 09:21

Morning

How was everyones night? Mikey woke at 11 and 3.30 and then slept til 8! The other two were up at 6 of course!

Jane "hold yer wheesht" used to be a favorite of my dad's Grin

Good luck today ledkr

We are off to a family friends 40th birthday party - it's more like a fete! They have a beer tent and a bucking bronco! My nephew can't wait! Me neither tbh.

Have a great weekend all Grin

reastie · 16/07/2011 09:39

40 but do they have a hog roast?! Grin Wink

debka · 16/07/2011 09:47

Morning all, well a mixed night here Confused. Up at 10 for a feed, then again at 1.30. Back down sleepy, but 10 mins later she was crying again. Thought maybe she was still hungry but no, she wanted a poo. So, poo done, nappy changed, baby wide awake. At 2am. Not having that, so stuck her in bed and went back to bed myself. She cried for about 15 minutes then went back off, so good in that she did it herself, bad in that I was then awake for what felt like ages. Feed again at 5.40 then up at 7.30 which was a treat, but DH was awake and vomiting with a headache at 6, poor bugger. He's still throwing up now. Not a hangover, he doesn't drink, just evil evil migraines.

Kent Show was good 40weeks although TBH I'm a bit showed out, as it were. Bit smaller than last year. HOWEVER if you go, you can see my PiLs- FiL has a stall there, he's an artist. He's in the Rural Crafts tent Wink. Take rotten eggs in case you see my MiL, she's the small shrewish woman with red hair and a wicked look in her eye.

OK for those who are interested, my Jeremy Kyle style wedding story is that we arranged a 'reportage' style photographer at our wedding, who would take lots of informal photos and only a few posed ones. We told PiLs this several times, and SiL, but evidently they didn't listen (listening is not a family trait), and SiL got a bit upset because she thought she was missed out of the photos. Anyway, PiLs got proper offended on her behalf and as soon as we got to the reception MiL took DH outside and gave him a massive telling off Shock. Then when he finally escaped, FiL took him outside and started in on him too. He was outside with his parents for at least 45 minutes, I had no idea where he was. After this he was so upset he wanted to just leave, leave his own wedding reception. I had to persuade him to stay. I managed to persuade him to stay but we had rushed speeches, one dance then we went. I cried all the way back to the hotel. When I got changed I found the bouquet of flowers that we gave his mother (proper expensive ones) jammed in the bin. My mum says they did and said other things too but she won't tell me what they are. It took me a long time to forgive them for that, they did ruin our wedding day and a lot of the honeymoon too as I was so upset and DH so angry, I've been patient and worked on our relationship but I've realised that they are just selfish and unkind and I'm not going to waste emotional energy on them. Hence no present for MiL this year, and she only got a card a week late when I reminded DH to send one. Nearly forgot- the sting in the tail of the story is that when the photos came back there were considerably more of his family (which is very small, thankfully) than mine (which is large).

Think I'd better stop now, this post is all about me and has got a bit out of hand!

Four4me · 16/07/2011 10:55

debka poor you, what horrid people. Probably best your Mum won't tell you the rest there is enough there to bear a grudge about as it is. Hope dh feels better soon. One of my good friends gets awful migraines and is so ill.

em enjoy your escape.

40 we are going to a BBQ today and it is torrential rain at the mo! Have done a Pavalova and rice crispy cakes! Just got every item of waterproof clothing we own out. They have a lovely big garden but a didy cottage so we'll be all huddled in a couple of gazebos. I doubt most of the kids will care. Our post lady said yesterday "there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing" do you think Tom will agree? He is a fair weather boy!

Jane murder the xbox!

hubbard hope Freya is better. I did that with Imogen recently thought the slight temp, off food, grumpy girl was teething and when I finally took her to the dr he said " oh my god she has got a bad case of tonsillitis" whoops.

Enjoy the rain everyone [off to put on my wellies in bloody July angry face]
