Sorry, couldn't get on this yesterday as MN were doing maintenance or something. Sorry for everyone having bad nights, dcs ill, babies not sleeping, lost keys, workmen in and out and babies not feeding nicely. I can sympathise entirely. S has added another night feed and when I wake up in the morning it's already with a banging headache. Sad No advice either, as I think he's teething. The two front teeth are right under the gums but that doesn't mean anything really.

Tarlia and Byron, getting British citizenship for the little ones is a massive pain in the arse. We applied for S's passport and consular registration fecking weeks ago and nothing has arrived and it's extortionate too. It's not like we can just pop to DC to check either. Hope you have better luck than me. The US one was an absolute breeze in comparison. (Have some coupons to spend in Target this weekend, american, and it's next to World Market so I can stock up on baked beans, patak's paste, tunnock's tea cakes and Cadbury's! Grin )

I will not be next in the baby stakes though there's only 19 months between A & E! How about Jane and Grannyapple at the same time? Wink

tadjennyp · 14/07/2011 19:16

And in other news Idris Elba just got nominated for an Emmy for Luther! It's not on any of my channels! Grr.

debka · 14/07/2011 20:12

Finally got the Beanster down after an awful lot of messing about and a healthy dose of crying. Tried to limit her daytime sleep today, plus gave her a large dose of calpol just before bed, belt and braces Grin. Am dreading tonight in case she does the same again, I cannot cope with awake baby at midnight.

Finally made it down to the clinic to have her weighed today, she now weighs 12.3, and is between the 2nd and 9th centiles. She sits up really well now but is teeny so looks like a little dolly. She is the baby that all the old ladies coo over!

wiggles you sound like me with sick people, I'm rarely ill and don't have any much patience with people who are ill. My sister when she was little hurt her wrist- I told her to pull herself together and sent her to bed. The next day she went to A&E and it was broken Shock Grin

reastie I've suddenly started getting grey hairs around my temples, which I don't think notice that much because my hair is curly. My sister (with the broken wrist) is only 24 and she has masses- she dyes it but she always struggles with roots/fading colour etc, so I'm determined to go grey defiantly gracefully.

jane I dreamt about you and Zoe last night :) Grin

janedoe25 · 14/07/2011 21:00

debka i hope it was a nice dream!

So excited torchwood about to start! im off to slabber over captain jack Grin

40Weeks · 14/07/2011 21:12

I'll have my fingers crossed for you debka that Sabine has a good night. Does she feed often during the day? How long does she go between feeds normally? Have you considered offering her water on occasion in the night? To let her suck to sleep but at least force her to feed more in the day? Don't know if it would help but know how soul destroying the wakeful nights are

OP posts:
reastie · 14/07/2011 21:16

jane is captain jack john barrowman? i don't know why but he drives me mad in a bad way. no idea why though Hmm enjoy fil free evening

wiggles i've got the regular hair dye to look forward to methinks. im really shocked how quick they have come through

deb all ok with bina so far tonight?

jenny don't forget to get marmite nom nom

Four4me · 14/07/2011 21:29

Hope your girlies are ok and you get a better night wiggles and debka I really hope the belt and braces approach works. Fingers crossed. Imogen was unsettled in the night last night and this morning when I looked a new little tooth was poking through.

Jane hope you are enjoying Torchwood?

Exciting news here today (well it depends on just how weird you think it is)! Anyway I had a call from the nearest Milk Bank. Am awaiting my blood test kit and we have sorted out getting the frozen milk to them! Very complicated but the bm bank co-ordinator is based on scbu, one of the other scbu nurses has a dh who works about 45 mins drive from here. My dh has to go that direction with work next week so my dh is meeting scbu dh in a lay-by with a cool box full of 10pints of my frozen bm! How funny! My dh keeps talking about when he is delivering the special package to the stranger in a lay by! Hope he doesn't get pulled over for speeding 'sorry officer I have a box full of rapidly defrosting breast milk to deliver to the next driver!'

My big boys have been on a school trip today and it has been fab weather here, they had a lovely time but were totally knackered. As Imogen was unsettled in the night she has been a bit of a wingebag today. Archie is so chilled which is lovely in some respects and I'm sure that is Envy to some of you but he is still only rolling onto each side and froggy shuffling upwards but that is it. Prob going to be a steady developer!! I can see me still doing his shoes up when he is 10 etc etc.

wigglesrock · 14/07/2011 21:36

Four4me that's so strange, was going to post and ask how you were getting on re donating, brilliant news. Grin at froggy shuffling, Olivia was very like that!! Girls absolutely exhausted and have been asleep from just after 7pm, hope tonight is better for everyone Grin

WeAreBorg · 14/07/2011 21:44

Hi all, really sorry bit knackered to say hello to everyone mainly because I too had the night from hell last night, Nate was up 3 times before midnight and the rest of the night was no better then up at 5am, yippee! Hope we all do better tonight. 44me don't worry I'm sure I have the most useless baby on this thread, he can only roll tummy to back if I stack his arms for him, and can only go the other way if I put him on a doubled up towel, he doesn't sleep at night, doesn't nap in the day, either poos 5 times a day or once in 5 days, etc etc. He is very pretty though!

wigglesrock · 14/07/2011 21:50

Just about to see to A who has just woken, to Borg, I know how tired you are feeling xx

ILovePonyo · 14/07/2011 21:54

Oh dear what is it with all the waking in the night babies at the moment? Heres hoping for a much more peaceful night for all.

Meant to say I got dd weighed, she is 12lbs 12oz but she had just drank a massive bottle before weigh in Grin

Four4 great news about the breast milk donation, that is loads imagine all the littlies its going to benefit :)

tadj hope you wake up without the headache tomo, oh and do you want to add pg tips to your shopping list Wink

wiggles pulling grey hairs our is so satisfying though!

Right bed for me soon I am v tired but have had a lovely day with my mum today, dd is so so smiley for her, in fact does great big grins at her, lovely to see.

ILovePonyo · 14/07/2011 21:56

Blimey Borg what a horrible night you had, heres hoping for better for you, have another hug from me :)

40Weeks · 15/07/2011 08:09

Sun is shining though and we have an action packed weekend ahead, yippee out of the house at last!!

Emski76 · 15/07/2011 08:33

Have had a few rough nights with Noah as he has yet another cold! This is now his fourth cold! Last night wasn't too bad, I had to go in twice between 11pm and midnite and ended up in with me from 5. Poor thing can barely breath when he's trying to sleep!
Too much has happened on this thread for me to comment on but I hope you all had better nights.

reastie · 15/07/2011 08:40

40 are your activities indoors this weekend [hopeful] ? Just saw the weather and week end will be a washout

ems 4 colds? poor noah. has ben had them all too?

borg am hoping last night was better for you, as for everyone. We had an OK night. It seems alice has got in the habit of lying with me in the evening and will not go in her cot until at least 10pm Hmm . In a way I do'nt mind if she's good and quiet as she does feed quite alot in the evenings to keep her going though night, just wish I could have some time to myself or with dh in the evening minus the baby Wink

wiggles how are the girls?

44me I Grin at the thought of 2 men in a car park meeting to exchange breast milk Wink

ponyo when you wrote pg tips I thought you meant pg as in pregnancy as took me ages to work out you meant the tea bags not tips on being pg Confused Grin Shock

Still washing all the free clothes I picked up - only half way through Shock

wigglesrock · 15/07/2011 08:57

Morning, had better night here, Sofia a good bit brighter this morning, she also has an eye infection the Dr thinks Hmm, her eye is bloodshot but not weepy at all, she gave her drops and the bloodshotness is lifting! Olivia is still complaining of a sore tummy when she remembers Grin

Mr W is actually off this weekend, my mum is taking S&O tonight, so we are having a takeaway and tv night!! that's not code for anything, that's all we will probably do! Grin, vvv tired here.

We are going on a day trip tomorrow whatever the weather!! My parents enrolled us in the National Trust so we off somewhere tomorrow, rain be damned. I might sneak to Next sale in the morning and leave Mr W with Anna but don't know if I can be annoyed.

americanexpat · 15/07/2011 09:20

We had a better night, L was only up at 11.30, 3 and 5 (sadly that's a good night for us). DH and I decided to try to get him back to sleep in his cot when he wakes at 5, in the hope that he'll eventually stop waking then. It took us an hour this morning then he slept another hour. I got a bit stroppy with DH at 5am though. Blush

tadjennyp - Envy Grin

reastie - I've had grey hairs for a while but they've multiplied since L was born. I'm resisting dying my hair because I know I won't maintain it and it'll look crap.

My dad and his sister are Irish twins, two weeks short of a year. I thought about it when L was 12 weeks old with a Shock face. I'm feeling broody but I'm NOT ready for another baby yet.

wigglesrock · 15/07/2011 09:23

americanexpat Anna was up twice last night briefly, and up for the day at 6ish, that was good for us too Grin. Happy 5 month birthday L!!!

Deliaskis · 15/07/2011 09:46

Morning ladies, not been on for a while, mn kept going nuts for me yesterday and Wednesday and I've been busy trying to sort out hosue move related suff.

Sorry for those of you who are having bad sleep at the moment. Sounds like the 4 month sleep regression has struck some babies with a vengeance. So sorry for you all because I know how tough it is with little/broken sleep. Hope it resolves soon. Every time I have a really tough time with C, I do keep telling myself, it's just a phase..., at worst, she won't be doing this when she's 2/5/7/15 etc!

C will be 5 months tomorrow. I can start feeling a bit less naughty about the solids now as 5 months isn't the end of the world (even though I've been doing it for a week or two now!).

We're away on hols next week, then only 4 weeks of mat leave left for me, yikes! In some ways it has gone very slow and in some ways very fast. I feel a bit Sad and guilty that I haven't 'made the most' of this time which I know we won't get back, because things have been a bit stressed, a bit of PND, and poorly relux Claudia etc. But I guess that's what mat leave is for, I imagine those who spend 100% of it in blissful joy are probably non-existent!

Last water babies today Sad, it's been fun, and we can't go anymore because they don't have any space on the weekend classes. We've enjoyed it though, and now I would have the confidence to go alone to a normal pool swimming session so hopefully this isn't the actual end of Claudia's swimming!

Anyway, have a nice day ladies and a good week next week, will be back on when I'm back home.

Dx

Deliaskis · 15/07/2011 09:48

PS meant to say MIL only gave C 1 oz/30ml for her dreamfeed on Wed and she still slept through to 6.30. I hedged my bets last night and gave her 50ml (less than 2oz) and she slept till 6.45, so next week while we're on hols and both there, we're just going to knock it on the head I think. We've probably only been doing it for our own reassurance rather than her actually needing it. It now feels like the 'pointless disturbing of deeply sleeping baby' feed rather than a dream feed.

WeAreBorg · 15/07/2011 09:56

Oh thanks for hugs that's so sweet, you lot are so nice. We had a better night too thank, just up at 11, think he woke about 130 and sang a bit then back till 4, and up for the day at 620 but kindly played in his cot till I got him about 645. Like american sadly that's a really good night for us! Hope debka had a better night.
Wiggles hope you enjoy your "takeaway and TV" Wink
ems poor Noah, Nate has a lot of bother with his nose too, he snorts a lot sounds like a little piggy all the time and seems to snort himself awake. We tried running the shower when he has his bath and putting a bowl of hot water with olbas oil in his room, has helped a bit. Someone on another thread suggested some kind of vapouriser from Boots which they said worked well.
Reastie it would be nice to have a good nights sleep AND an evening to yourself, not either/or! Glad she is more settled though.
44me I had a dream about some people coming in my room and harvesting breast milk after your story, woke up in a panic and my PJ top was drenched!!
ponyo that weight sounds good yes? Nate is about 14lbs I think, he's 25th centile but boys are quite big I think.

I'd like to have another baby soon (you can tell I had a good night last night!), but as DH and I are yet to consumate post-baby life Shock this seems unlikely! BF is working it's wonders anyway, no periods so no point wasting the energy at the mo!

WeAreBorg · 15/07/2011 09:58

Cross post delia, scary you are going back to work so soon, I know what you mean about feeling like you're not making the most of it. I imagine I should be wafting through summer meadows with my gurgling baby strapped to me in a sling but reality is somewhat different isn't it?

wigglesrock · 15/07/2011 10:35

WeAreBorg haven't you a thoughtful son playing in his cot Grin. Any three of mine would be jumping on me, demanding food or that I put the tv on Blush. Anna would be trying to bite my face, she's turned into a real face sucker, she puts her mouth on yours and won't let go. She's a cross between Hannibal Lector and something from Alien Grin.

Deliaskis I went back to work when Sofia was 4.5 months old, have a fab holiday.

Four4me · 15/07/2011 11:28

Borg very funny about your milky themed dream! I've just had coffee with my post natal group (from first baby 7 plus years ago) mentioned the milk donation, was met by looks of horror/yuck! Don't think I'll be sharing my little secret to anyone else. They are all lovely girls, they all have two children the ages of my two older ones so are totally past the baby bit. I am the only one who has had more! They then were very positive when I said to think about all the premmie babies it would help. Think I just dropped it on them!

Delia enjoy your holiday, i've never given a dream feed but it sounds as though C doesn't really need it. Archie is C's twin, he is five months tomorrow too. Time sure fly. You'll be fine back at work and you are right I doubt there is anyone who is honest looks back and the first few years months of motherhood is all cuddles and talcum powder. My mantra is only look forward as yesterday is gone.

wiggles and 40 glad your broods are recovering. I hate it when they get ill in rapid succession the house can become very claustrophobic!

Four4me · 15/07/2011 11:30

Forgot to say hope Noah gets better soon em!
