Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
stripeywoollenhat · 11/08/2011 14:05

hoping riots passed you all by and it's all over now...

180 - any clarity on your situation yet? very annoying, having to wait.

tree - well done on the weight loss. i feel like sobbing every time i think of the dieting horror 2012 is going to bring me, but i guess that i need to drop the absolute shed loads of weight i'm enveloping dd2 in asap, due to my great age and the increasing difficulty of losing weight at all as one proceeds through one's 40s... but now is not the time to think of that Smile

all is well here, nasty bugs all subsided, and mini-boden order arrived - c is looking very cute in her new raspberry cord s Smile

180 · 11/08/2011 14:25

afternoon stripey, love the thought of rasberry cords! Glad bugs have crawled off.

Still no news... will update as soon as I know. Feeling extremely moody today so maybe it was a chem. meh.

I have to say on the dieting front I've yet to beat Mr Mckenna's I can make you thin. Such common sense, but then I'm at IT person so like extreme logic!

stripeywoollenhat · 11/08/2011 16:07

180 - well, if it is, i'm pretty sure i had a chemical pregnancy the month before i conceived this one - late period, and distinct 'pregnant' feeling nausea. i am taking the view - highly scientific, i'm sure - that it set up the correct conditions, iykwim, for this one to settle in. so, only a matter of time, if not this time Smile

i'll combining sugar-free and couch to 5k, i think, in about march... the sugar-free thing really works for me, and it's pretty simple. cannot be doing with counting types of dieting...

180 · 11/08/2011 18:32

me too stripey, when ttc DD. Funny that.. I had the same reasoning. I just don't want an Olympics baby as we want to rent the house out!!

Sugar free is very sensible. I find if I ban myself from anything (other than dairy, which I found amazingly easy), I end up craving it like mad. Good for you on the running front. Should definitely do a bit more of that myself

treedelivery · 11/08/2011 20:17

Oh good luck 180 - I really hope you get that big fat positive very soon. You will, hang in there!

DD2 had another febrile convulsion in the wee small hours. About 2.30. Happily didn't get admited, just brought in when I called ambulance and observed a while. Was home for 6.30am. Poor poor thing, she has been very clingy and wishy washy today. DD1 has been really really good and pretty much ignored. She has also had very bad tummy ache and done stupid amounts of poo.

Troubled day in the house. Back to work tomorrow after 12 days off....dh and dd off to a vw festival. I'm off on nights

Was Angry as poor dh only had 2 hrs sleep and went in to work a whole 2 hrs late. They don't pay any sick or leave, if he isn't there he just doesn't get paid. He got 'bollocked'. Good reminder of why we are working to get him into a more professional world. I know he won't be able to be late then either, but at least there will be defined rights and protocols.

Respect to anyone who can do sugar free. Did I mention the maltesers Blush

GotArt · 11/08/2011 21:36

Don't speak to me of sugar free... I baked my three favs yesterday. Thank goodness I had the sense to freeze most of it. I've gone on two 5km in the last two days and have a sweet tooth for some reason. Grin Going to be walking over to the store here soon to work off the 2 cookies a piece of coffee cake. (no wonder DD2 drinks so milk... it must be pretty sweet Grin )

Pumping milk for DD2 as she'll need daddy to feed her when I'm working. He offered her the bottle and she went to it, not even a flinch. 3 ounces. DH gave her one today while I was at the gym and popped her back in her swing and she's been sleeping ever since. I even got a shower... DD1 didn't bother with her... Toopey&Binoo was on.

missjackson · 11/08/2011 22:09

Hi everyone! Sorry for prolonged absence (if you even noticed Grin), usual busy summer stuff. Have read through and caught up a bit.... 180 have my fingers crossed for you, would be a great gap. I am still debating three on a daily basis. Keep thinking no as the two I have are so perfect and yet so utterly exhausting. But expect I might, just because it's such a strong urge to make more... not very logical, or responsible I suppose, but then again so little fun stuff would get done if we were logical and responsible all the time.

stripey hope you start feeling better soon - remind us of EDD again - must be soon? Excited for you! C will be a great age for it.

hkz can't believe you have actually moved, hope L is making some friends now... beach etc sounds lovely.

tree wow at the going to sleep in 10 mins... . N is same as yours tea it seems - he must nap in the day in order not to be a complete terror for the afternoon, but then doesn't want anything like a normal bedtime. But am just sticking to naps for now as he is happy all day then, albeit a long one! But then I have DH to help out - must be very hard for you not getting a break in the evenings.

Hope H is much recovered tonight tree- must have been awful for you and really worrying. Poor DD1 too, what an angel she is.

GA two is hard, hard, hard after just one and a relatively civilised life... ahh, how the second- and more-timers must have chuckled at us first-timers when we were timing feeds and counting nappy changes and boasting about first smiles etc... Grin - I think they did well to keep their scorn to themselves, while thinking 'just wait till you have two, mwah hah hah' (sorry stripey). DS gets in DD's face all the time, he just won't leave her alone, mostly without malice, but it's so hard feeling like you are holding them apart all the time... it will change, I am sure - my mantra was, and still is, 'early days'.

Had the lovely lenni and pat here with gorgeous DCs last week - 6 kids between the three of us in my teeny tiny house- we climbed a mountain and had a mini-drama when T locked herself in the loo and my landlady had to break down the door (!!) - all lots of fun.

This msg is waaay too long, my apologies. Waves to everyone else, will try to keep up more!

180 · 12/08/2011 09:00

Hi MJ lovely to hear from you! It does get better on the two front... hence even contemplating another. We weren't laughing at you.. PFB is a phenomenon we all went through (a rather curious one to the observer, I'll grant you, but it felt great at the time).

Wow at mini drama! Me and my DB used to do that all the time when we were little. Either that or smash other people's windows in our boisterousness. Poor Mummy. Fingers crossed that my two little scallywags don't turn out to be like I was!

treedelivery · 12/08/2011 15:02

Hello MissJ. Lovely to hear from you, and yay to number 3 Grin. No idea how anyone manages with their children close together like you all do. I need the gap, I find toddlers utterly sapping in time and energy!!
If we have a third it will be at least a year if not 2 from now. I'd like to have 4 yrs again, 5 ideally, but am getting on a bit Sad

Your get together sounds lovely Smile

I wasn't laughinh at anyone either Smile I never much did the pfb with dd1, I wonder why? Probably as was not on mn Grin Barely noticed dd2 and her milestones etc as was in the colic wars. Both the babyhoods of my two sort of past me by. Another reason I'd love to do it again Grin

DD2 is better but hyper clingy and she hasn't eaten or even drank much. She complains of belly bangs so I guess she is coming into the runs. DD1 is a sort of limey grey colour and has belly ache and headache. She has had both constipation and loose stools - but has had to strain for both Hmm Go figure. Sorry tmi.

Despite this I have sent them off to my mums. I am on nights and DH is away at the VW festival. DD1 still hopes to go, it's not far from my mums so we'll see how she is tomorrow. Wish dd1 was just free of her bowel trouble. It's rubbish.

Heavy heart for nights. As always I am missing out on fun stuff, have had hateful mornining at home with the grumpy girls but won't see them until Monday morning so now feel really really guilty for not enjoying them more....and instead of rallying my self for them I have to do it for work. Guilty and fedup

So I'm off as I'm moaning. Ta ta for now. x

180 · 12/08/2011 19:23

Oh Tree, sounds like things are getting better slowly though boo for you going on nights.

Just got my (very painful) AF so stripey, like you said think this was a practice run. Last time I had this was month before conceiving DD. It's really odd, with previously pregnancies have thought 'I'm pregnant and it's an X' and have been right. This time round although pregnant could not decide the sex so was a bit worried there was something wrong with it.. turns out I was right!

Anyway, weddings, Christenings and holiday in the next three weeks so secretly please I can now get as plastered merry as I want during them all. Yay! Silver linings and all that. Bought a six pack of Grolsch to celebrate Grin

missjackson · 12/08/2011 21:25

Fingers crossed for next month then 180; hope painful bit of AF passes soon, the Grolsch should help Grin. I read it as 'weddings, Christmas and holiday in the next 3 weeks' and actually for a moment thought, F**K, Christmas is that close?! It would be just like me to have it creep up like that.

tree nights sound tough - don't beat yourself up too much - it's hard though, I know. Nights are proper torture, I remember them well, and you go a little bit insane - affects hormones and brain chemicals and all sorts of things like that. You have a lovely gap between your two - I wish I had started earlier and could spread out a bit like that -- but tonight while enjoying a bath and glass of wine while DH had DS at the farm, and DD was alseep, I thought, no, two is good, if it ain't broke etc... but expect it will be an ongoing internal debate.

Green man festival next weekend, yey!

stripeywoollenhat · 12/08/2011 22:00

missj - hurrah for festival... Envy

ah tree, sorry about sick dds and working nights. you are quite right about age gaps - c had a monstrous tantrum today, it would have been hideous to try and manage that and a tiny baby at the same time. really hoping that she'll have got past the lying on the floor howling stage by the time dd2 arrives.

wow, quite a lot of talk of 3rd children on here. i think you should all go for it Smile. not for me though - i am, thankfully, too old to consider a rerun of this pregnancy business, as soon as dd2 disembarks i am all done. 180, sorry it didn't work out this time, but at least you have the consolation of alcohol Smile it'll happen soon, i'm sure.

180 · 12/08/2011 22:55

lol at xmas MJ. Beer and vino doing their job. Night all. hic.

Rrrrayray · 15/08/2011 11:23

HELLO!!!!!!

i know, i know, havent been here in forever. I'm sure those of you who i have on FB are still up to speed with our life though.

How is everyone?

Esme is doing well. Sporting a black eye (long story) but otherwise great.

Hubby's Football going well.

Have finally got a proper website up & going..... that said, needs some tinkering, Roses rather than cupcake pictures etc.

Sweet Little Roses

So am i the only one not to have had another baby post jan '09......yet? I think we will begin trying in the Autumn! x

treedelivery · 16/08/2011 09:10

Hi all

Lovely to hear from you, saw the site on fb, good luck with it.

Hoping for next month for you 180 - yay for alcohol.

Fed up here, but ok. Lingering non specific lurgy and knackered after work. Really busy nights and no energy. DD1 has a massive rash we need to take to a pharmacist but can't actually rally us all to get dressed. Too tired! I think it's a hives type thing so some antihistamine should do it.
She had 8 bowel movements yesterday. Which considering her usual constipation is a fortnights worth. 'm worried she'll get a huge rebound constipation.

See y'all.

moosemama · 16/08/2011 12:28

Hello all

Back from hols yesterday and so lovely to see all the chat on here. Welcome back everyone. Grin

Holiday was an unmitigated disaster and not one I'd like to repeat, but I still managed to lost another 2lbs over the fortnight, so that's 23 lbs overall. Have just over the same amount to go again though. Hmm

Just tried to catch up, but it all went in one eye and then out of my brain. Confused

I did manage to retain a little bit, first of all 180, sorry you didn't get the positive result - hope you are ok and look forward to hearing happier news from you very soon.

Tree - haven't had chance to read your doggy thread yet - a nudge in the right direction would be handy though, as I don't get on here as much these days.

MissJ, I was down your way-ish yesterday. We stopped for ice cream sundaes in Hay on Wye on our way home and then had a makeshift tea in the camper.

Not much news from our end - other than that the dog seems ok, but has to go for a check-up this week. She was happy enough to spend whole days on the beach, swimming, walking and chasing frisbees after she had her stitches removed free of charge by a lovely vet we found in the local town. There's a small chance the infection could reoccur, so we have to check her all over her head, neck, chest and front legs every day or so in case any new lumps appear, so we're not out of the woods yet, but its looking hopeful.

Took my old girl's ashes up to the point on the beach where we used to walk together and sit and contemplate the waves and basking seals and scattered them there. Had a good cry all the way there and back of course, but feel happy that she's in her favourite place along with our other dog and most likely my Dad and a couple of his dogs as well come to think of it. Smile

Rrrrayray · 17/08/2011 18:54

Well.... i have to say i'm actually rather pleased chat has slowed down somewhat on here. Maybe, just maybe i'll be able to keep up on it.

180 - is my memory failing me, or have you changed your name? I'm trying to place you..... please dont be offended, but memory isn't at all good.

Tree- totally sympathise with your on going poo issues. While Esme and i were in america she didn't go for 10 days, completely unheard of for her, is daily as clock work. The Doc out there perscribed an Enema (sp?) which although wasn't pleasant did the trick quickly and sorted out the issue so we enjoyed the rest of our time in the states.
Missj- How is life with 2 bambinos?

Moose- Sorry to hear trip not so enjoyable. Impressed you managed to loose weight on holiday!

DH is bathing Esme so back to create more hair clips & tinker with website.

treedelivery · 18/08/2011 10:45

Hey Moose welcome home. DId you enjoy the holiday, how was ds1? Hope you got a little r&r. Good news about doggy. Don't worry about my doggy thread - it is a big NO to a puppy! My mum's labs had pups and dd1 is desperate for one.

Ray - dd2 is up to 6 days now. She's clingy, some what bipolar and utterly draining. Had soiling today so have high hopes...

Don't dare go out until 'it' arrives. Pain in backside as I'm nights tomorrow so no outside world until Monday now. Sigh.

We went to castle howard Tue and had a great day. Cost £50 and that was with a picnic!! Shock Odds and sods cost a bomb. Poor dd1 has had really bad hives ever since. They are everywhere and very big and angry. She has 2 anti-histamines and lots of scratch marks.

Ray - 180 was 120 was 4littlefeet. She of brownie fame Grin That's right isn't it?

DD1 is going to legoland ths weekend with nanna. They are staying in a lovely lovely hotel. Am Envy. Then we have an outdoor play of wind in willows at a walled garden about half hour away. Holidays flying by in a blur of large credit card transactions.

180 - sorry for af!
hi rray andmiss j great to hear from you both

treedelivery · 19/08/2011 15:52

Hello Tink. The campsites are very good for the kids aren't they? Where did you stayed, we stayed in Frejus on Cote D'Azur. Now there is a nice spot - what a lifestyle those people (with money) have.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I have £400 until payday. This is for one week holiday spending money, car hire, airport parking, plus living in the meantime. HmmHmmHmm Better ring bank for overdraft, although I won't be able to pay it back until DH gets a job in...er...approx 2014. Oh dear.

DD1 has just zipped off with her nanna in my old MX5, with t he top down, heading for 2 nights in Winsdor and 2 days at legoland. They are staying at hers tonight (about 50 miles away from me) and then gettign the train - tube - train tomorrow. God help them, my mum is hopeless at that sort of thing!!
Am slightly Envy, as I am heading for a couple of hours sleep before nights. Oh well. They loked so happy, zooming off in my old lovely caar. I love that car, dd1 and I had some great japes in it before dd2 arrived.
They are staying at a hotel called Beuamont Castle, which looks totally ace on line. It was £85 a night, but appears to be somesort of plush country hotel! More Envy as it has kids disco etc etc.

Well, have lovely weekends everyone. I hope these nights are calmer than last week. I'd like no child protection issues and no staffing issues and no run on rooms and no shoulder dystocias. Those are my requests Grin

moosemama · 19/08/2011 16:40

Hello folks

We did sort of enjoy some of the holiday thanks Tree, but our best mate's gf made it very hard to enjoy the second week and ds1 was - well, very autistic at times. Dh's Mum was taken ill and hospitalised while we were away as well and no-one thought to let us know until two days after we got back. Hmm

Weigh-on on my weightloss thread today and I've lost another pound since Tuesday, which was a lovely surprise this morning. 24 pounds down - about a gazillion more to go! Grin

Dd will have a blast at Legoland - my 3 absolutely loved it and keep asking to go back. Such a shame you can't go with her though. Sad

Where are you off to on your hols?

Will send vibes for a night quiet shift for you.

Tink - great to hear you had a lovely holiday - hope you have some sunshine today to make up for the grotty weather on your return.

Teaandcakeplease · 19/08/2011 19:33

Oh oh my first ever thread I began has been moved into classics! I'm not entirely sure my comments helped it get there but the other funny ones have... Smile

Cool Tea! I saw it but hadn't time to post. Respect!

Glad you had some nice times Moose, but sorry to hear about your mum and the bf's gf. Is your mum ok?

They got to Legoland and the hotel ok and had a lovely journey down. DD was playing with other children on the same mission - I packed her some pick-up-sticks and they went down a storm. So that's nice. The hotel has a big bouncy castle etc etc so that is also fabby. It's raining at legoland but hopefully it won't spoil the day, besides they have all tomorrow now after booking an extra night. So much nicer takes the pressure off.

The vibes didn't work I'm afraid, t'was an odd, complicated, busy and bit of a sad night really. Hopefully tonight will be easier on the brain and legs - we worked 8pm to 5am with no food and just odd cups of tea. So why I have woken up after just 5hrs sleep I have no idea. I'll feel pants tonight. Ah well.

Moose that is such a lot of weight, you must be pleased to bits! Mine is 9lbs and I am really amazed at myself Grin so well done you!!

Hols is Majorca - can't believe we are going. A week on Monday!! We just sort of booked it and now it's just sort of here. I'm so excited.

GotArt · 20/08/2011 16:19

Nice Tea

Nice moose on weightloss Envy

ray Saw the site on FB; good work.

Tree We just spent the last 2 1/2 years struggling and moseying along... so looking forward to going back to work just for the cash flow.
