That's helpful to know, any others want to tell me also what they're 2 year old is doing sleep wise. I skipped his nap yesterday and he slept from 6.30pm to 5.40am but is already asking for a nap Sad But he was desperate for sleep so I put him down at 6.15pm

I do like those types of clocks, I have one on my Amazon wishlist but I'm too brassic to buy one right now, even 2nd hand. So many costs coming up with DD starting school.

dd2 missed her nap yest too much going on with nana and grandad shefell asleep at 7pm was so past it

GotArt · 31/07/2011 16:27

Tea I think you've got to keep him up with an activity till 7.30.

Teaandcakeplease · 31/07/2011 16:39

If he has a nap? Or regardless?

OP posts:
Teaandcakeplease · 31/07/2011 20:34

Well after a 30 min nap today he actually went to sleep after much faff at about 7.15pm in the end. I always end up by tomorrow or Tues back tracking and returning to naps and usual bedtime. I must must must try to keep going at a change a little longer. Just too knackered, in his tired state today he was playing very nasty with others though. So much snatching, shouting, pushing etc. Sad

OP posts:
GotArt · 02/08/2011 16:06

Regardless. After dinner activity to keep him going till 7, then bath, then a digestive and book and night night. Grin

How's he eating in terms of proteins to fibre?
Digestives are great at staving off hunger a bit; he may be waking cause his body is telling him that he is hungry.

LOvely day at Beacon Hill Park yesterday followed by DD's first ice cream cone. Its amazing how many people you notice wearing white as you watch your child concentrate on their chocolate ice cream cone while walking. Grin

tinkbig · 02/08/2011 16:43

HI ladies
far to hot here today

Teaandcakeplease · 02/08/2011 21:17

DS seems to eat like he has hollow legs Wink Bedtime usually involves milk here and a story. Tonight he wouldn't settle to sleep for toffee, went off 10 mins ago but it's sweltering here. He also wouldn't eat his dinner tonight at all and then kept saying he was hungry, I'd offer him his dinner again and he'd say "no, don't like". He does like it - usually. Even offered a banana 30 mins ago (after many a time of reoffering dinner) and he clutched it and never ate it. In the end he got a slice of bread and butter I think he has a dodgy tummy though, thinking about it, as his stools have been super soft today and lots of!

I've returned to offering a nap if he seems tired and putting him to bed later. He wakes early no matter what I do it seems. So no point in getting my knickers in a twist anymore. I can't have things the way I want them right now with both going to sleep nice and promptly, at the same time and having a whole evening to myself Wink It's good for my selfish nature to be challenged Wink

Your day sounded lovely GA. Yesterday we went to Ruislip lido and today King George Park in Bushey. So lots of paddling in this hot and humid weather here.

OP posts:
GotArt · 02/08/2011 21:30

Right now Tea it doesn't help that its hot where you are. I can't sleep when its hot, I can't expect my little ones to. Wink Do try a digestive with milk at bedtime though. I've recommended it to a few friends with success. Grin

We went to Tumblebums today and a mum told me that another mum there called DD a mini bully! Shock The mum that said it was having issues with DD trying to play ball with her DD as she kept throwing the ball to her and she wasn't catching it. Just sort of standing there. DD was just trying to get her play. She also was trying to get her to jump in the bouncy castle by holding her hands and the mum thought DD was pushing her. I saw it all and know that DD was not being a bully. She was just trying to get this zombie kid to play with her. I'm sure the mum had a few things to say after we left as DD had a screaming fit about leaving. Blush Grin Whatever, really. I was more shocked about the gossip... I don't know either mum; the one that called DD a bully or the one that told me.

treedelivery · 02/08/2011 21:33

hello Smile

I haven't caught up properly, but Moose am I really glad to hear your ddog is ok. Great great news. And well done on the weight loss!!

I've lost 7 lbs, but probably put it all on in the last week. Have had many takeaways.

Tea - h bomb isn't being put to bed for her afternoon sleep anymore Sad I soooo miss it. So does she, she asks to go sometimes. 'Warm bot bots' (bottle of numpt (milk)) Grin. She goes off to sleep at 6.30 or 7 ish in about 10 mins. If anyone remembers it used to take us a good hour to 3 hrs to get her down, so this is a huge improvement.
So I'd keep going with the full day and eventually he may sleep later - or he may not and always be an early bird. In which case I guess you'll all have to go to bed mega early maybe? If H wakes early she shnuggles in our bed and reads books and has a little potter about. She mooched from 6 until 7.15 today! Would he watch a dvd on a little tv in your room while you doze on?

We are potty training a bit, she's great in the house, haven't really tried out and about yet!

Have loads of general on going news, but need to read properly and get back intot he thread . Hoping to be back properly!

Congratulations on the house move HKZ

Teaandcakeplease · 02/08/2011 21:35

Ha! If she thinks your gorgeous Vi is a bully, she is seriously sheltered. Let my DS rip and she'll see Vi is one lovely personable friendly girl! She's going to make lots and lots of life long friends as she grows. DS would've shoved the zombi kid over I suspect Sad It's a stage, it's a stage. Hope he improves soon.

Teaandcakeplease · 02/08/2011 21:38

Ahhh bless little H. No longer a bomb Wink I knight you Madam bot bots Grin

So nice to hear from you.

No tv in my room at all. He seems to stop start videos/ dvds when he gets bored and put something else on right now.

Envy at more talk of potty training success

tree Advice on going out and about without a diaper on; scout out the washrooms before you do anything. Once, we ran all over hells acre's to the washroom at the mall. We made it, but just. Grin

Tea Speaking of digestives, I think I just ate 6 of them! I think, cause, quite frankly, I lost count. Blush

DD2 is proving to be a great little sleeper. Wakes only once at night (put down between 9.30 and 10) for a top up around 4am and for the last 4 days, has slept from 10.30 to, well it 2pm now, so soon she'll likely wake. I can also put her down awake and she nods off herself. Now to just get her to sit with her Dad and we'll be perfect. Grin

tinkbig · 03/08/2011 07:50

tea having problems at nite with the heat here too!!
have had to put dd2 in our bed last few nites her room has been 30 plus degrees c , plus she hasnt seem right anyway think teeth
r room is downstairs so much cooler
dh away back today with dd1 so will hopefully be sharing with him tonite instead of dd2!!

treedelivery · 03/08/2011 12:49

You should all move to the east coast. Cool breeze here Hmm. I am always looking at houses in towns inland, I need outta here!! Too far from a city and too many freaking seagulls. They have woken me every single night about 2am Angry
I am as soft as they come but even I can see they need culling. When we bought htis house 3 years ago there were none at all, now they are so so so loud.

Off to shower and try shape myself, have to go collect my ladies from my mum. They had an overnight stay. Not enthused about 3 hrs in the car in the heat, but well worth it for an overnight break. The dd's had a day at a huge maze yesterday, and are currently off to the river with mum's dog and a picnic.

Tink- whoo that's hot. Tea is your flat warm too? Maybe a positive to this draughty victorian house with big windows everywhere is that we dont cook. Mind you our fuel direct debit has had to go up to £180 per month!! Takes chernobyl to heat the place.

Cheers GotArt. On the loo front, our town is famed for a lack of loos. Which is another reason to keep putting the nappies on out of the house Grin Plus I have spent so many years with dd1 in toilets trying to push out poo, that the idea of using them now makes me shudder!! Never thought I'd see the day, but I may just buy a portable potty. I never understood them, but the thought of a horrible smelly hot public loo, waiting in line and all that.....bleurgh.

Am loving my Madame Bot Bots name Grin

Had to lol at the 'bully' snipe. DD2 thinks nothing of giving a child a good kick or a swipe if they dare to go on a slide she considers hers. That woman would have called the cops if she came across my dd2!! Crazy lady.
