tinkbig · 04/08/2011 16:30

hi ladies

is cooler here today thank goodness

180 - Grin

treedelivery · 04/08/2011 20:37

120 - SmileGrinSmile

took my 2 swimming today, I've never taken them together on my own. I'd forgotten how much I dislike swimming!

Hope the pushchair sells for you DOG. My car was £280 nicely swallowing the money dh had got for selling some special cycle wheels. he sold them so we'd have money for weekend treats in the holidays...aren't cars a drag?

stripeywoollenhat · 04/08/2011 20:53

hello all

dog - hope someone buys your phil and ted - we're still wondering what to do about pushchairs, but i'm sure the answer will come to us, probably in an exhausted haze in mid december...

tree - good to 'see' you. impressed with potty training progress - c adamantly refusing to co-operate on that front so far. and very happy to hear about the decommissioning of the h-bomb.... (i mean sleepwise)

180 - Grin - but you may want to look away now as i may have a few minor whinges about flippin' pregnancy to get out of the way before i'm done...

boiling in dublin, but in a dull, damp way. we've had a procession of guests for the last week or so, and it has coincided with my having a crash in my iron levels: who know you could feel that bad? i know i had iron problems with c and should have expected it, but with c it kind of crept up slowly so i thought i'd have plenty of warning if i had to start taking the hideous iron - nope, i felt like a building fell on me last friday afternoon and could barely move till about yesterday. iron seems to be kicking in now, just tired. but have replaced it with really aching ribs/abdomen...

that's quite enough pregnancy whinging for one day, i guess (unless you are poor dp)

all well else, have timetable for course so will be adjusting c's nursery schedule shortly. am feeling some trepidation. and dd2 seems a right lively one, she's breech right now, using my bladder as a trampoline...

Teaandcakeplease · 04/08/2011 22:09
Wink

Ahhh Stripey I never enjoyed pregnancy at all. Glad the iron is helping now x

stripey You may want to look away as I'm going to whinge about 2 month old...

Well, both really. Today, I just wanted to quit being a mom. I actually said it outloud. "That's it! I quit. I can't do it anymore" and text DH too. He replied "Can you wait till we find a replacement?" which made me smile a bit, but really, I was at the end of my rope. Day started with DH parking motorcycle in front of car and it was on double stand so I just couldn't move it. I rang up to him and he said "Can't you just run around the fucking block or something." No. I need to get out. Running around the block just doesn't cut it. I asked him to come and move it and he said "What. With the two kids?" Man, wish I could use that excuse everytime something didn't get done around the house. 'Oh no, no laundry done today. I had the two kids. No dishes today, I had the two kids. Oh no, no blow job today, I have two kids. Anyhow, just set my day off and I had to get the course outline done and it was just a very demanding day between the girls. DD1 has taken to slapping and biting DD2 every chance she gets. WTF. She's never been like this before. I can't leave DD2 unattended anyhow, as she loves hugging and rolling around with her, but now this. Hope it passes.

Anyhow, that's my whinge. Carry on. As you were. Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 05/08/2011 08:41

GA DD used to hurt DS in the earlydays. I used to just put her in her room after saying in a bored tone "no hurting your brother" for a time out. No big discussions afterwards about it, no fuss etc. She grew bored and stopped. To begin with I got very shouty etc and it escalated. It was hard for her as DS was a velcro baby and she'd gone from having me all to herself to having this baby constantly needing me. But she was only 17 months when he was born. Of course this may not work with Vi but I do sympathise x

Hope today is a better day for you.

Toddlers are hooligans aren't they? DD2 beat the whatsit out of big sis. I keep hoping dd1 will snap and give her a good thwack (as we would all dearly like to do for a nano second...or is that just me?)

DD1 was never ever like this, I never ever needed to tell her off or channel her energies elsewhere or any of this bull. Harumph. There was I thinking I was a parenting Goddess Grin

My sympathy GotArt. have you thought of just pissing off and leaving DH to it for a day? A friend went back to work and her dh suddenly shared the childcare 50/50. She said he was 2 days in and suddenly all the odd jobs to help with the kids were done, the cars sorted etc etc. He suddenly really got why all this stuff matters - when he too was almost reduced to tears because the door wouldn't hold open to let the pushchair out. Y'know, crap like that. Made me laugh when she told me. It's so typical of 'men'.

Stripey - glad the iron is kicking in. Are you having orange juice with it too? Floradix is nicer to tolerate. You sound a bit post viral, have you had a low level bug?

Anyone know anything about violin shoulder rests? DD1 isn't playing in a good position with her little sponge, so I think I'll get her a proper rest.

tinkbig · 05/08/2011 11:12

stripey - hope iron works
gotart - sorry for bad day!!! hope today is better
toddlers can be a pain
girls r awful at mo in hols world war 3here

stripeywoollenhat · 05/08/2011 11:48

gotart - sorry to hear about sibling stuff but i am sure it'll stop pretty soon - tea's response sounds pretty good. this is all ahead of me, isn't it...? sure today will be better.

tree - no advice on violins or any other musical instruments: musical i am not. c says "don't sing, mummy" every time i join in with such activities. she does not say that to her other mother.... i'm taking ferrograd c on midwife's advice: so far, no discernible digestive disturbance. i was wondering if i had a virus as well, i just felt so crap, but in any case, much improved.

tink - sorry about ww3, hope they settle down.

mini boden catalogue came in the post this morning. not so sold on the adult stuff, but their children's clothes are pretty nice. shame they are also stupidly expensive.... still, c has asked for some red trousers, so may allow credit card a day release....

treedelivery · 05/08/2011 13:17

The new season is lovely isn't it - am thankful that the uber bright colours don't actually suit my gals much. Saves me a fortune Grin. I got dd2 a tshirt with a cat on in the sale and the cotton is amazing, it's almost brushed. So cuddly. If they had a long sleeve one of those I'd buy those for sure.

Girls having holy hell on today, despite colouring, paddling pool, sand pit and dvds. Storm clouds and rainy wind gathering, maybe a decent storm would clear dd2's mood! Little whatsit.

treedelivery · 05/08/2011 16:11

dd2 just did a huge poo in her pants. Then a tiny wee in potty. She's delighted with herself HmmGrin

GotArt · 06/08/2011 04:21

Focus on the poo in the potty. Grin lol

Thanks.. today was better. Went to beach, not too busy, we got a perfect spot right at the water in the shade and DD2 slept for the most part, so was able to build sandcastle cities, which DD1 promptly stomped or drenched. Grin Came home, naps all round. After dinner, we were going to go for an ice cream, but the traffic jam was something else, so I detoured to the grocery store and bought ice cream and some cones even. We ate on the balcony. It was nice.

Those bad days just seem to take forever get through. Grin

tinkbig · 06/08/2011 18:36

tree good luck

gotart glad day

bought last bits for hols today and have more or less packed

i spent loads with boden when dd was smaller used spend £30 save £10 or something like that do luv the colours

180 · 06/08/2011 20:12

Hello, still lurking on mn a bit as no af and no bfp... wtf?

glad so see boden is still a topic of conversation Grin

gotart.. have you got the siblings without rivalry book? I found it fab when DD kept creating lovely red scratches on H's head whilst pretending to be kissing him (she was 22 mo at the time the little devil).

180 · 06/08/2011 20:16

oh and hkz we are having curry with your pickles tonight Grin.

hackneyzoo · 07/08/2011 10:31

Oh 180, how I miss you and my pickles! Grin Test again after the weekend maybe...do you have all the symptoms? Have you used a posh digital test? I didn't get a BFP on the cheapo one I did but I did on the ridiculous digital one.

GA Have no advice about the sibling rivalry...mine were ok when the baby was tiny, it's just now they beat the crap out of each other.

Tree, can sympathise with the poo pants! DS has got the hang of weeing on the loo, but pooing is a different matter...I really can't deal with his pooey pants, have started just chucking them in the bin...ewwww. I was thinking of making a day trip to york when DD is back at school if you fancy a northern meet up or a coffee in Betty's.

Stripey, its reassuring to know that other peoples DCs ask them to stop singing too, I have to admit I can't sing a note, but it still hurts my feelings to be told to stop with such conviction! Hope you are feeling better and your iron levels are picking up.

Waves to Tea, Tink, Moose and Dog and all...

Well, am loving newcastle, staying with ILs which is ok, they have a big house so at least we aren't on top of each other. Being so close to the sea is great, lots of dog walks and days on the beach so far, although the weather seems to have reverted to type again.
Still waiting to exchange onthe house, should happen tomorrow, uber stressful. Went to a fab wedding yesterday, in the shadow of Tynemouth Priory in the old lifeboat station, there was a real storm blowing out at sea and it was lovely being inside overlooking the water. Made the mistake of wearing a dress that was impossible to BF in without taking it all off. There were only two toilets and about 100 people, so had to do really brief breast feeding stints....grr. ANyway, DD2 was a star and charmed everyone and managed to get GPs to look after DS and DD1, so an almost childfree, very pleasant evening. The groom was a musician and the bride a ballet dancer, so there were some amazing musical performances from the guests...it was all very romantic.

Right, off to sainsbos and, if the rain holds off , (I don't think it will) a bbq.. Happy SUndays.

tinkbig · 07/08/2011 11:34

morning

treedelivery · 07/08/2011 13:36

hey there

T'is nice to be back on thread. Is Moose on her jolly holidays?

HKZ - would be very very up for that! Exciting! Am happy for you being back in your happy place in Newcastle. What sort of house have you chosen? If you tell me it's one of the those huge terrace Jesmondy types I may go Envy. Loved that area, although I lived Fenham when a student. Loved that too! had a vegetarian funky cafe at end of my street and a great asian supermarket. Happy times.

treedelivery · 07/08/2011 13:38

btw am child free today, they are having 2 nights with their nanna. Bliss. On couch in pj's with little laptop, tv remote and ignoring house work and ironing Grin

treedelivery · 07/08/2011 16:30

Hope you get the news you want very soon 120-to-be-180. everything crossed for you x

when you next see it/open that box/stray in to unpacking hell...if you want to send me the card for Edgar I'll happily take over and get it sorted. I know you have a tonne on.

I'm sorry that hasn't got sorted yet everyone. Life just ran away with me in spring/early summer. Hoping to be back to my usual leafy tree from now on Smile

tinkbig · 07/08/2011 17:10

off tomorrowGrin

oh boden i was obssessed before
have had a look on website Blush
next month going to order her 2 pairs of coloured jeans, velour hooded dress and 3 tops plus some stuff from next

hackneyzoo · 07/08/2011 19:13

Oh tree, sadly not a huge jesmond pile...a more modest heaton terrace...here Enjoy childfree day and lets come up with a date in Sept some time. Went to metro centre today; shopping heaven or hell, can't decide. Only had enough stamina to make it as far as House of Fraser.
Right, kids to bed time

treedelivery · 07/08/2011 19:39

Cardigan Terrace! brings back memories. House is lush, I love it. You have joined me in hoovering hell though Grin lots of stairs like me. The wood and the entrance are very lovely. It's very light and airy too. And in a truly great city with fab shops and countryside everywhere and an airport and so much to do!!
Have an Envy. In fact, have EnvyEnvy.

180 · 07/08/2011 20:47

Hi all, hz house looks great and fx for you.. waiting is hell! If you go to House of Fraser again, look at the phase 8 sale.. got some fab frocks and tops there last weekend (at the exeter one). Very jealous of you guys going to Betty's.. I was brung up on that stuff I was... cinnamon toast, toasted tea cake, and my Daddy even bought me Betty's birthday cakes!

Feeling sick as a dog here. Still not tested after two mega early bfn's last week (could tell i was preggers within a couple of days so thought tests would work duh). Didn't have sickness with either of the others so what on earth is this new kind of hell?

Stripey and Art you will not put me off... am mega broody! I blame hz personally..

DP is being really funny as I can tell he is excited but at the same time bloody nervous about what three means. Once I have a BFP I think it will start to hit me too! What on earth are we doing?!
