Beautiful countryside tree but the house would need some tlc. Could you afford it? Grin I think I'd be too freaked about spiders living in the country [wimp emoticon]

I can afford the house and perhaps 3 or 4 pots of paint. Do you think that would do it? Grin

I could deal with the isolated country because it's near such a great little market town. I like it there, and we would sit int he garden and watch the steam trains go by. Lovely.

Teaandcakeplease · 28/08/2011 20:35

Oooo that does sound lush Envy

Sadly our own house isn't fit for sale nor likely to sell even if it were. Nothing in our town is selling, except the semi detached 3 beds in the small traditionally well respected area. Our town house in the somewhat soggy end has no hope. Hey ho.

T'would be lovely though. We'd be game for the improvements too. Convert the loft......day dreams Grin

Ooo, you'd disappeared off my threads again you elusive bunch!

Had a good BH weekend here. Took the dcs out to a fantastic Museum in Coventry yesterday called The Herbert. Its really interactive and best of all free to get into and only 50p for parking in the closest carpark on a Sunday. We did pay for our lot to go into the BBC Walking with Beasts exhibition though and they all loved that. They do lots of free family workshops and exhibitions and this weekend had a cool den and sensory type room for the dcs to let rip and play in, which they all loved. After that we went for a rather chilly picnic at a country park and they all had a wild time on the adventure playground, which due to the weather (and time - it was 5.00pm by then) they had all to themselves.

Today we have had a slap up, Sunday-style lunch with home-made apple and blueberry pie and fresh custard (all accounted for within my calorie planning I might add ) and I've been chilling out while dh and the dcs wash our three (yes count them three) vehicles. Ridiculous - only dh can drive, but we have the camper, our car and dh took delivery of his company car a couple of days before our holiday. We are intending to sell our own car, but haven't got around to it yet.

I have had quite a few horrible neuro symptoms this weekend, hence the resting today. Not sure what's caused it, but hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it soon. My neuro appointment has come through for 6 October, so will have to wait and see what they say.

Only downer this weekend, other than that, has been the ridiculous uniform shop that phoned this morning to say our order for school jumpers is going to be delayed until the week after next. Hmm Great, the only thing they sell that our school insists the dcs wear and they've blummin well sold out! So it looks like my boys will be going back to school in their faded jumpers from last year, rather than bright shiny new ones for the first year ever. I love seeing them all spruced up for their first day back at school as well. Sad

tinkbig · 30/08/2011 21:36

tinkbig · 30/08/2011 22:20

hi mm do u know if i am elegible for job seekers

dh earns £44k

moosemama · 31/08/2011 13:35

Hi Tink, sorry I don't know much about it, but afaik if your partner is earning anything over the minimum wage you wouldn't qualify.

Actually, just found this and this so it looks like you can't claim if your partner works over 24 hours a week.

GotArt · 02/09/2011 06:03

Tree nice pipedream. DH and I have been looking at houses. I look at ones that cost up and over a few million then realize, if I had that kind of money to spend on a house, I would build it! lol.

I've got an office. All of a sudden it seems real. Start work next week. Eek.

tinkbig · 02/09/2011 16:25

quiet on here ladies!!

week has gone quick here!! cant believe that dd1 is back at school tues

GotArt · 02/09/2011 19:16

Hey tink

hackneyzoo · 03/09/2011 16:40

Really dull rainy Saturday here spent....doing laundry, finally plumbed in the washing machine.
Popped into town and blitzed h and m with the kids, got a few bits for them and for me for once. Thats been about the highlight so far.
Have knackered my neck from painting the ceiling and am wandering if it is too early for a medicinal Wine

tinkbig · 03/09/2011 19:16

hi gotart

hi hkz

cloudy dull wknd here

going to start betteware Grin hv books all ready

had a quiet day otherwise

moosemama · 03/09/2011 19:54

Evening ladies

Cloudy here, but warm and muggy.

Nothing exciting going on really. Been to the camping shop where the dcs played in the tents and dh and I drooled over the £1000 canvas ones! Grin

Am still dieting and shredding, not losing any lbs to speak of at the moment, but the workout is obviously working, because I've lost 2.5" off my chest, 2.5" off my waist, just over 1" off my hips, 1" off each knee and bits here and there across the rest of my body. When I started dieting I was wearing a size 16 that was too tight and I really should have been in an 18 - tried on my slimmest fitting 14s today and they are loose! Grin

Mind you - level two of the thirty day shred did nearly kill me this morning. My own fault, I did levels 1 and 2 yesterday, then didn't sleep and did level 2 again this morning. I'm exhausted and will be trying not to do too much for the rest of the weekend. Am so scared of being as ill and weak as I was for the first half of this year.

Boys are back at school on Tuesday, lord knows I love 'em, but I am soooo looking forward to some peace and quiet - 3 dcs and not one of them ever stops talking. My poor ears need a break!

Good luck with the Betterware Tink.

tinkbig · 04/09/2011 14:29

tinkbig · 04/09/2011 14:31

have put orders with next Grin
a new jumper for me my other one is falling apart
boots for gilrs
and sheep slippers for me

moosemama · 04/09/2011 15:08

I know what you mean Tink. My boys think is hilarious and like to do very bad versions of the moves whilst saying "look mum its easy". Hmm Those plank moves are killer - my poor shoulders!

Hope you get some orders on Tuesday. I need to come up with a money making scheme for Christmas too. Haven't got around to making clothes with Mum yet, but maybe its something we'll be able to do once the boys go back. Only thing is, I have ds1's statutory assessment application to prepare and we will be settling him in with a new teacher, so its likely nothing much will get done during at least the first half term.

GotArt · 05/09/2011 00:35

Ah, yes moose. When your body starts to tone up, transferring fat waste to muscle and muscle weights more than fat... I keep telling myself that to feel better. lol Grin at lost inches too. You're doing great!

I am desperate for new clothes. I start back to school Tuesday. EEK!!! I just keep reminding myself to only think of Friday's class... that's all I need to think about.

I've been thinking about Christmas season as well. The top of the list is stockings for the four of us. Baking for MamaGroup. And anything past that is butter. Grin

moosemama · 05/09/2011 10:09

GA, I've been thinking about Christmas as well. I want to get in early this year, as I enjoyed making my own gifts last year, but it was all a bit last minute and stressy in the end.

I think I've missed something somewhere - are you teaching or being a student?

I coped a bit better with the dreaded planks this morning and recovered from the whole workout more quickly, so hopefully I'll stop being in so much pain soon. Problem is, I'll just get good at level 2 by the end of this week and will have to move up to level 3 next Monday. Hmm

tinkbig · 05/09/2011 11:33

hi mm Grin

u sound very organised with Christmas!!

stripeywoollenhat · 06/09/2011 11:14

hello everyone,
hope all returns to school/first days are going smoothly and that everyone is well. moose, good going on the weight loss/toning. ga - hope job goes well - have you started this week? tink, hope the betterware makes you some christmas cash (christmas! argh)

am taking a quick coffee break from the day of steam cleaning that lies ahead of me: yes, the cats have brought home a flea infestation.... can't really be doing stuff with chemicals at 27 weeks, so steam and a bit of bleach it is. i know it's my fault for forgetting to treat them, but i feel like rehoming the pestilential flea-bags this morning. and it's really upsetting that the fleas have mainly bitten c, she's all itchy, poor little girl.

she's at nursery today, where she's having some sort of problem with a horrible little thug boy in her group: more or less the first thing she said to me this morning was 'x not hit me today?' i had a chat with one of the women there this morning, who - i think accidentally - let slip that he is a bit of a horror boisterous. i'm really not sure how to handle it, apart from letting them know that she's a bit worried about him? in any case, he's apparently going to be away for the next few weeks, so that's something.

best get back to the steaming - the fun is improved, let me tell you, by my aching pelvic bone.... oh, i hate my cats today.

hackneyzoo · 06/09/2011 11:19

Mornng everyone, just about to go and pick DD1 up from firsy morning at reception, 120 and Tea, hows it going with your DDs and thier first days? DD1 seemed fine, which is hardly surprising after 6 weeks of me and DS for company! I did weep though!

Tink, whats BETTERWARE? Moose, whats 30 day shred? Confused Blush

Tink, I wear, jeans or leggings under skirts, I have a few pairs of kind of baggy trousers/ hareem pants from the toast sale too, I love them but DD and Ds insist I look like a clown in them Grin

Am impressed with all the xmas organisation GA, when arew you starting new job?
