40 I have baby sensory on tuesdays so can't go to the chelsfield group Hmm Sad . I would have to hunt you down if I went though, and now you're all famous and been on TV I'd know who I was looking for Grin Grin . Oh, and if I did pre school stuff it would be week day not week end - save week ends for the older ones Grin

hv just been and gone. she came for a visit as think she was worried re: pnd. Turns out I must be OK as she said she won't come again unless I ring her to come. I asked her re: pre school cooking things and she said fabbo idea..but then she had no idea there were already at least 3 people doing the same thing in the area Hmm byron tis lots of outlay though as have to buy equipment/public liability insurance/crb check/advertise/set up a company (I assume), plus I'd have to give up my job so nothing to fall back on Hmm.

ledkr when are you next seeing pil? only 2 week ends till they're off on holiday isn't it? I'm being pestered for this week end.

40Weeks · 07/07/2011 11:41

Also mean to say Hubbard well done on potty training, have done ds2 in the last month. He is great and only had 2 accidents, was well ready but WILL NOT, I repeat WILL NOT go for a you know what (shite) anywhere but the nappy. Or carpet [grimace emoticon] Weirdo! Any advice anyone?

Four4me · 07/07/2011 11:57

Hi had a quick read through am still having tooth problems. On a new antibiotic as amoxicillin didn't work. Ow ow ow. They think my jaw bone is infected. One night I felt like banging my head on the work tops, I have NEVER felt pain like it and i've had four normal births. They were nothing compared to this!

reastie I think it is a great idea. There is the potential to make your business different to others. Kids parties are one idea, mummies are always looking for new ideas and home make up ones are all the girly rage here at the moment. You could go to them, maybe in their village halls etc take all your kit there. Being more mobile then the competition may help. Most halls or community centres have ovens etc. My friend has a lovely cooking/kitchen equip shop and she has started doing demos on an evening (a bit like Pampered Chef if you've heard of it) she does local WI groups and also parties in peoples homes. More with goal being selling equipment but ykwim. If you still aimed at kids I think there would be loads of demand.

tarlia take care, parenting is a rocky old road and no one finds it easy all the time. Don't delay asking for help. Hugs.

Jane hope you are ok?

All kids well here. Archie is totally laid back cutie. But boy do four kids produce loads of washing and eat loads of food!

wiggle how are hols going? The boys break up in three weeks and I flit from looking forward to it then to being totally overwhelmed with how full on it will be for six weeks. I'm bad enough now at keeping up with this thread. I think I'll just come back in September when they go back to school and need a massive recap of everyones news.

Took a cute pic of A at the weekend will upload it when dh remembers to bring camera home from work. Arrrrrr

janedoe25 · 07/07/2011 12:26

4forme im ok thanks. Sorry to hear your mouth is still hurting, hope it gets better soon x

ledkr and the word "normal" in the one sentence, wow i never thought i would hear that (joke)Grin

40weeks how old is your ds? i had a mindee who would only pooh in a nappy, NEVER in the toilet or potty! It's a fear of letting it go iyswim. I used to tell her it goes in the loo and flushes away to feed the fish! I will try and remember the name of the book for you.

40Weeks · 07/07/2011 12:35

Yes reastie I meant i think it would be great for older ones as well, esp as you can teach them about healthy eating, calorie control etc, would be excellent.

Don't leave us til 44me we will have gone grey by then!

40Weeks · 07/07/2011 12:37

Thanks Jane we make him watch as we flush it down the loo (sorry if tmi everyone) and amazingly enough he just did a bit of one in the potty (must have seen what I'd written) so I gave him a big big and a treat and made him ring daddy but a book would be great if you do remember x

Four4me · 07/07/2011 13:13

40 ha ha brings back memories waving down the loo! Won't be long before I start all over again. Your ds will suddenly click!

Am waiting for Imogen to wake up. Why oh why do babies/toddlers always sleep for ages when you need to get out the house and wake when you have loads of time to let them sleep. I am supposed to be at my friends house at 1.30 and it is half an hour drive away. She is snoring away. Me and Archie are just sat waiting. I hate waking sleeping children. Wrong wrong wrong!

reastie · 07/07/2011 13:22

44me poor you re: tooth - infected jaw bone sounds terrible Shock

raining here, which is a shame as originally I planned to go shopping for shoes/jacket for my christening outfit but then since alice was in a bad shouty/winey mood I thought I might just take her for a walk but now I can't with the rain :(

Feel very Hmm about this potty training talk - I have all this excitement yet to come. Still - isn't wiggles the potty training guru Grin ?

Does anyone else feel like they have no get up and go and a constant pile of boring things to do (in my case ring bank, send back photocard for driving liscence etc etc). I feel like I have so much boring stuff to do and never quite get it done and I'm sure pre baby I didn't have so much, or maybe I'm just doing it slower/putting it off Hmm

I keep forgetting to say Envy to hubbard re: cake decorating course. I'd love to do one of those (can I hide in your hang bag and come too Wink ).

Update on my cooking thing - found FOUR people/companies doing a very similar thing in my area - BUT they seem quite busy/fully booked as if there is demand AND they charge massive prices like £20/25 per 2 hr session - if I could do something like that I'd only need 3 sessions a week with half a dozen children to make it worth my wild Grin

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 13:25

ledkr i keep losing posts, having logging in issues too, I mean how in Gods name am I supposed to be judgey about baby names if I can't share my always right opinion. Hope dentist went ok.

reastie think the party idea for school age kids is great idea of Four4mes' all the hairdressers round here do "pamper" parties for 6+ and they're all the rage!! Nail painting, crimping hair etc. We'll have you rivalling Alan Sugar next.

Four4me hope mouth starts to feel better, holidays not going to badly, although my mum and dad bought Sofia a big slide for her birthday so they've been out the back for the past week, although raining constantly here now, so they're upstairs listening to their mini disco CD from holiday, I have a horrible feeling they're about to come through the ceiling any minute.

40Weeks we had musical beds here last night too Shock it was very warm and Olivia couldn't sleep and Anna thought it was playtime at 3.30am!! Had to have a swift word, she also refused to have her morning nap but is asleep now Grin

reastie · 07/07/2011 13:46

nail painting for 6 years olds??? Shock [faints]

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 14:01

Afraid so reastie Sofia's had her toenails done since our holiday, of course she likes it for about 5 mins then wants it off again, she's also a dab hand with a mascara wand Wink We are in the middle of an ear piercing debate at the minute Shock, see what joy lies ahead of you and I have this times three [pass the gin]

ledkr · 07/07/2011 14:43

Sorry have only skim read so will look later.Dentist was fine, they are so good in there the girls have Dilly and she is a total charmer gummy grins all round,44me i had that dry socket thing years ago followed by bone infection its a total nightmare, have you tried syndol?you get a bit stoned on them but you could take them when dh is around, work a treat.

All you wwatchers im on a thread now they seem nice and its great to have the advice of people who've done it for ages, it here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1253422-Weight-Watchers-PP-Rain-Rain-go-away-as-we-are-waisting-away?msgid=26303235#26303235

reastie pils have been invited for Saturday only in 3 weeks, then dh announced that he has work on the sunday morning so i told him to either get it off or they cant come,im spending all day sunday entertaining them.Am dreading it tbh but will try to be nice.

mizk was it you who is scared of luther,i was a bit paranoid too,i thought the face licking psychopath would come and get me,i have all my doors locked now when im here.

wiggs How ever long do your kids get off?Els doesnt break up until 3 weeks,i cant wait, all that help and no uniforms and packed lunches,am soooo looking forward to the summer off for the first time in 9 years.

Ok then, comrade gina Ford sayd early waking and sleep probs caused by baby going into too much of a deep sleep when the go to bed. This makes total sense as Dilly is practically in a coma at bedtime. So yesterday i forced a later nap at 4-4.30 then rice and bottle then bath at 6.15 and bed at 7,because she had the sleep she wasnt absolutley knackered so it was a bit more difficult to get her to sleep but once she did she slept till 7!!!!! woooo. she even woke at 5 but went back off,im hoping ive crackd it,i feel so much better today i was finding it so hard to be awake from 5 every day.

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 15:00

ledkr see that's exactly what Sofia did, she would have slept 2.30-3.30pm, bit of food (porridge) then sometimes she would split a bottle, a little before bath and the rest after and she was a champion sleeper!!

The schools finished 30 June and back 31 August, we don't get as long at Easter, October or May as you. Not doing the 2 seperate school runs has been bliss, it'll be easier in September because Olivias' nursery school and Sofias' school have the same start time, Sofia gets the school bus in, so I can drop her at bus stop then drop O to nursery.

suzym1984 · 07/07/2011 15:59

ledkr I was just about to post the same thing! Ive been reading a sleep book and apparently over tiredness is the main cause of early waking. Going to try Harry with an earlier night tonight, as we had a scream fest at 4.30am! Bedtime is usually 7.30 so might try for 6.45 and see what happens!

reastie i think you business sounds good and I would love to go to those classes!

Tried H with cucumber in the mesh feeder today, his face was a picture!! Not sure he was impressed haha!

ledkr · 07/07/2011 16:44

suzy there was a moment last night where i thought blimey id rather she was knackered but on the whole i think id rather a bit of bedtime drama than 5am.She has been really sweet today too,she was tres grumpy with the early morn.I took her to town in her buggy not pram and she loved it,cafe nero are very baby friendly, nice changing room and also special flasks with a container to heat up your bottle. There was Mummys group in there wiyth babies about our babies age,i was on my own and felt all friendless,i felt like saying "i have friends you know, hundreds of them on the internet" haha i was trying to spoon feed Dilly porridge and then whipped out my bottle, they were all bf and i thought they might judge me,talk about paranoid Grin

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 16:54

Well what a difference a week or so makes, gave A some baby rice this afternoon, she was very meh about it last time, I'm lucky I survived with my hand intact this time, oh and she was so pleasant when she realised it was finished Shock.

Grin at ledkrs I have lots of friends, you know, I just can't see them Grin

Sofia has just announced they are playing a game where Olivia is her servant, tears before bedtime me thinks Grin

suzym1984 · 07/07/2011 17:36

going to try it tonight ledkr so will let u know tomorrow! I have even been considering bringing back the dreamfeed, but not sure if that a bad move at 5mnth old?! Did dilly enjoy the pushchair for the Oyster? H loves it!

wiggles H loves the rice so much he shoves the spoon in so far it makes him gag...hilarious to watch!

Emski76 · 07/07/2011 17:48

I dont manage to get on here for one day and look how much you chat.
Reastie, fab idea about classes, I know Ben would love it. Someone was doing it in a little cafe herebut we couldn't do the day, its such a fab idea! I really wish you loads of luck and success with it.
Ledkr, laughing at your friends but their on the Internet. Isn't it funny how groups of mums can make you feel a bit like that!
Took Noah to doctors about his congested nose at night. He seemed to think its just the end of his cold. Was a nightmare last night tho, I was up quite a few times comforting him because he couldn't breathe! Hoping it's better tonight, although dh is back from his week away later so I can lie in a bit in the morning!
How awful did it sound, let Noah sit up alive?!! I did mean alone, honestly!

reastie · 07/07/2011 18:01

ledkr I mean this in the nicest way poss but it's really comforting to hear a ff mum worry about being judged by lots of bfers when out and about as I always feel completely the opposite and didn't realise the thing went both ways (we'll never win will we Wink )

lol to ems - glad we finally cleared that one up Grin

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 18:14

emski In my befuddled state last night I actually couldn't think what you were trying to say Grin sit up alone makes much more sense!!

suzym Anna threw a right strop when it was done Blush, the other two thought it was hilarious.

ledkr · 07/07/2011 20:13

I wasnt realy being judged at all i was just ALL ALONE AND SAD. Me judged?blimey if i worried about that id be long gone Grin
I am going on my mn meet Saturday,im quite excited, get orf is one of them and i always find her funny, they seem a nice bunch,im amongst drinkers and faggers too.Im a bit worried that ill know some of them already from out and about, the school or work.Should be a right laugh.
Yeah i was like "what is sit up alive?" Am i missing something.
Am i the only one who's baby hates solids.D just doesnt manage them,i know she's still only 5 months im not sure if its her cleft, ill ring the cleft nurse tomorrow.

debka · 07/07/2011 20:14

ledkr interesting about the deep sleep and being overtired, hope it works again tonight for you.

OK may be a little TMI but S did a poo this morning and it was all mucousy so I'm wondering if her cough is just her trying to clear mucous running down her throat. She's a tiny bit snotty but nothing dramatic. Sorry to keep banging on but my sister and I had asthma so badly as children they didn't think we'd live past the age of 5 Shock, so I'm constantly watching my girlies for any possible signs.

Anyone else have the thing when a relative asks how old your baby is, you tell them then they look into middle distance and count on their fingers and say, O yes she is 5 months isn't she! FGS I'm her mother and I can count!!! My stepmother did this today, we visited her and my dad in their new house, it's only the 2nd time she's seen S (lives 1/2 hr away).

debka · 07/07/2011 20:19

ledkr Bina is not bothered in the slightest about solids either. Is there any reason why you need her to start now or can you hold off a few weeks?

wigglesrock · 07/07/2011 20:30

ledkr Anna has had a few tastes of things and wasn't that enamoured, as I said earlier she went mad for her rice today, but she'll probably ignore it tomorrow. I'm sure you're looking forward to Sat - we'll want all the details Wink What ya wearing? to Sat night obviously, not right now, that would be a bit creepy Grin

debka my mum does that, if we are out together and she bumps into one of her friends (she has a very busy social life dontcha know!!) and they ask something about the girls, she'll just answer away whilst pretending I'm not there Hmm Must be worrying about the asthma, very unknowledgable re asthma, can you get the girls checked or do you need to wait for symptoms?

ledkr · 07/07/2011 20:33

Um,good question deb,i started it cos i thought she was ready and would help her reflux, also they are best weaned a bit for the cleft op cos cant suck after for a bit, however her op wont be until after 6 months and she is clearly not ready is she duh so ill leave it a while, she is enjoying finger foods tho ie farleys rusk but then who wouldnt Grin
Mucousy pooh is moor likely to be something you ate id guess,a small amount of snot would be broken down by the gut.Asthma cough is dry and worse at night in children i think,i can understand youe concern but these days the treatments are so much better for it.Is her cough a habit do you think?Have you seen hv or gp.
Oh yes meant to mention,i have not seena hv since dilly was 6 wks, she has a cleft palate and was such apoor weight gainer she is on special milk, does anyone think that is disgusting cos i do.If she tries to come now ill tell her to f$*k off
