Forgot to say I tried Noah sitting alive today. He was leaning right over him legs, I turned to get the camera and he face dived into the carpet. He wad nit a happy boy and got me back a few minutes later by being sick all over us both!
Debka, thanx fir asking about Noahs naps. He tends to nap fir 30/45 minutes four times a day, but I am o much more relaxed now ad I've realised that if he doesn't nap well it isn't the end of the world. We had two naps together today and I have to admit it was bliss. I'm so in love with him!
Am thinking of meal planning again, I dud before Noah was born but it was so hectic that I stopped. I've been keeping receipts from food shopping to see exactly what I'm spending our money on. I think the problem is that whenever I go fir a walk with the boys we end up in the supermarket! I popped to Tesco the other day to use some baby food vouchers and spent £60! Dh would go mad if he knew, and I don't even know what I spent it on! Whoops!
Anyway I'm off to meal plan then im off to bed! Love to all

Deliaskis · 06/07/2011 20:35

For any meal planners who are interested, Sainsburys have been doing 'feed a famnily of 4 for £50' thing again, 7 breakfasts, lunches dinners etc. It's not perfect and no way would I do it word for word for a week, but I like sometimes just getting ideas/inspiration for cheap meals as even though I love cooking and can cook loads of things, I just sometimes run out of RAM in my brain for thinking about it!

Dx

wigglesrock · 06/07/2011 21:04

reastie how's Alice getting on tonight?

ledkr how was Dilly today?

Meant to ask debka Sabines' cough any better?

Can you tell the Apprentice is on and I can't bear to watch Grin

janedoe25 · 06/07/2011 21:08

Ha ha me too wiggles My dude is away until friday im tres bored!

wigglesrock · 06/07/2011 21:11

I know jane we seem to end up cringing at the same time every Wednesday, and its on tomorrow night as well!!!

reastie · 06/07/2011 21:22

jane it might give me an arm workout you say? what an added bonus Grin

wiggles I haven't been to any baby groups yet Blush . baby massage just finished so only have baby sensory and have 2 months until we start sing and sign so looking for 'exciting' things to fill our time with Hmm

deb I'm thinking of either going back to work or going self employed and doing childrens fun cooking classes/workshops. It's something I wanted to do when I was teaching, feels like if I'm going to do it this is a good time but it involves alot of risk/leg work/upfront costs for insurance etc. Just had my new GCSE group list through and it's a very challenging group that's really too big for the faciities in my teaching room. That's the second year they've done that - I get Angry that the powers that be try and pursuade all the really low ability/challenging students to my subject thinking it's easy when it's really not and I have to get them through Hmm

I think our prob food budget wise is I have a spesh diet and gluten free food is soooo ££ and also I do'nt cook home made quite so much as I used to as I can't do it and look after alice too easily (unless I plan the day around being organised - must do better). Seriously it seems like we get an order about every 5 days and every time it's nudging £80 - £100 Shock Shock . I think I am single handedly keeping sainsburys in business Wink

ems you tried noah sitting alive?! Wink

wiggles alice is lying next to me and I'm in bed watching apprentice so things not going great. Lots of huge screams earlier which nearly made me cry trying to leave her [sob] . Holding hope that in an hour I'll be tucked up and asleep though [hopeful]

reastie · 06/07/2011 21:24

jane and wiggles i'm multitasking and doing apprentice and mn Grin

wigglesrock · 06/07/2011 21:49

reastie I've never been to one either, but my Mum and her group of grannys (oh the shame) frequent them on a regular basis. Think Mum can't wait to start having A on a regular basis - she has Olivia on a Wed morning but Olivia starts nursery in Sept. Remember you talking about setting up on your own on the pregnancy thread.

Had a giggle at ems and Noahs' sitting too!

janedoe25 · 06/07/2011 22:02

reastie can you put out feelers to see if you would get enough business with the kids cookery classes? You should ask the mums at baby sensory if its something they would be interested in? I'm watching some crappy film on e4, think its called epic movie, a spoof of Narnia.

wigglesrock · 06/07/2011 22:17

reastie you know what would be really popular in my very humble opinion, cooking classes with pre-schoolers, I know a lot of mums love baking with their children, I am obviously the exception Wink but I would go if I didn't have to do it in my own home! Mine love baking buns, cakes with both their grannys, I'm very lucky (?) that we live near our parents and they get to do that, but so many people don't have that kind of support. Besides my mums granny circle would love to do something like that Grin But it would be a very big commitment both financially and time wise!

I did Home Economics (not sure if its still called that) for GCSE and you're right us that weren't scientifically very strong were steered towards it as it counted as a science, I am proud to say that I was bloody brilliant at it Grin. Maybe not so much at the practical side but the theory side was my secret weapon!! Hope Alice settles for you.

jane I have got sucked into sitting up late watching crappy films all week Grin. Did you get mindees for the summer break or are you on your hols?

janedoe25 · 06/07/2011 22:32

wiggles i am on my hols! No kids until august, im already bored out of my mind......

wigglesrock · 06/07/2011 22:37

jane I've some cupboards you could clean Grin actually scrap that I've a whole house if you're really bored!! Night, night all, hope we all get some sleep, its absolutely pelting here so fingers crossed no early morning sunshine to wake the girls Grin Oh I'm an evil Mum x

hubbard86 · 06/07/2011 22:45

i could never get into the apprentice. Currently watching desperate housewives and doing some crochet which is boring me immensly but my hands are really fidgety today.
I'm doing some sugarcraft and bakery lessons in september. Just evening classes but i can't wait to do something for me as i've been a sahm for nearly 3years.
My pnd remained undiagnosed for 18months it's when i sat on the kitchen floor and cried telling my dh him and ds would be better off without me and i wanted to join my dad that made me get help. I urge anyone with dark thoughts to go to the doctors as it can only make things easier.

tadjennyp · 06/07/2011 23:01

I second that hubbard, noone should feel ashamed about asking for help. I'm trying to do some quilting atm as dh is always working. Don't think I will get too far without my Mum being around to ask though. No, must have positive thoughts...

janedoe25 · 06/07/2011 23:07

Your alright wiggles i have some needles to poke into my eyes! Grin

Raining here too, has been all bloody day!

Hi hubbard and tad

hubbard86 · 06/07/2011 23:35

hi jane Grin

tadjennyp · 06/07/2011 23:50

Takes dcs to playdate...can't be arsed but the dcs will be happy! Sends sleep vibes to all babies.

debka · 07/07/2011 07:40

Just had THE BEST night EVER!!!

I went to bed at 9 and didn't get woken until 3.45!!!!!!!!! Then she carried on sleeping after her feed until 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm taking my girls to IKEA every day from now on! Grin

delia Grin at spooking babies out by taking them in their bedroom early- I did that last night- had to get a clean babygrow out before bath and she was tres disappointed when we came out again!

o dear- bad mother award goes to me- just had another tumble off the pouffe :( but this time head first and backwards Shock she wiggled her way backwards and disappeared! Seems to have survived.

Still coughing....

reastie · 07/07/2011 07:41

wiggles the pre schoolers thing was actually my secret weapon in my business plan Grin . They have a couple of small companies in the area with literally 2 oe 3 people running them doing similar things but they both seem to be doing really well and expanding (one has even just had a big purpose built kitchen area built so they can't be doing too badly can they) so it's just if there is more space in the market (which I think there is as one of the companies is a bit further away that I will be and the other only does pre school at week ends). involves so much thinking though and finding a good hall somewhere to run it from and possibly hiring someone to help as I can't see how I can run a class AND watch the oven if cooking things etc. I think this could be a really amazing sucessful business I'm just not sure if I'm the person to do it. It doesn't help that DH isn't very supportive of the idea at all and just wants the easy option of me going back to school, but, at this point I'm so stressed at leaving A with mil. At least doing my own stuff would mean either on a week end when DH around or on a day when my mum could look after A.

Sorry, that was an epic post on boring matters to everyone else.

fwiw does anyone here think they would go to a food/cooking class thing with pre schoolers if you have any or when our los get that old?

reastie · 07/07/2011 07:44

x posted deb excellent work on the sleep ( Envy ) and Shock at the pouffe incident.

debka · 07/07/2011 09:08

reastie shame you're an hour up the road, I'd LOVE to do that sort of thing with you! I've never heard of anything like that round here, what are the names of the companies already up and running?

When did Alice get to sleep in the end?

reastie · 07/07/2011 09:24

deb darn it - just found another company starting up for october doing very locally EXACTLY what I want to do Angry . Here are the other two ones though for you www.littlestirrers.co.uk and www.cookieskitchen.co.uk . Maybe not such a good idea after all (or such a good idea it's already been taken) ... Hmm . Last night not good with alice - less said about it the better Wink

blimey riley I've got terrible cramps again. Been stuck in bed the past half hour Confused .

40Weeks · 07/07/2011 10:41

Hello

I have been lurking but there has been sO much chat that every time I refresh, another page appears and I forget all the other stuff.

Hey tarlia I can only second what the others have said, and hope that coming on here has helped. You are definitely not alone!

reastie there is a toddler group I go to in Chelsfield on a tues, they have a baby corner and its only £1! Not sure if it's what your looking for as not specifically for babies....tues morn at 10.30-12? Great idea about he cooking although if it's weekends then why not do older kids as well? Most preschool stuff is during the week.

Can't believe some of the babies are sitting up! Mikey is only just rolling onto his front.

I watched The Shadow Line too, bit depressing but very film noir

Mikey is grizzly today, bad night of musical beds at the 40 household - without the music of course Sad

debka did I mention that cake looked FABULOUS? Clever girl

Can't type anymore as M is grabbing my hands and wriggling and whinging so have to dash

byronicheroine · 07/07/2011 10:48

Catching up while baby naps and I eat lunch - is that multitasking?
reastie I think it's a great idea, and I would definitely go in a couple of years - such a shame others are there already. Maybe there's a gap in the market for you too? May be worth a try, if you hire somewhere there's not much outlay...
Also thinking about back to work, although if DP's job doesn't improve we may be moving soon... The thing is, is that childcare would take literally most of my earnings from a legit job, but if I do 'privates' (that's lessons, ladies, minds out of gutter please!) I can earn more if DP takes the baby a couple of evenings than working full time and paying for childcare. I like being a SAHM anyway, but realise it's a good idea to have something else going on, for our relationship more than anything else!
Ouf better go, K is moany and muffins are in the oven (thanks for a family that have given us soooo many toys 'n' stuff :) )

ledkr · 07/07/2011 10:50
