deb don't worry dd is not having any proper food yet either! Have bought some baby rice but not bothered trying her on it yet. I think the mesh thing might be worth a go as she shoves everything into her gob nowadays so we'll see.
Sorry no opinion/knowledge on cough - does she still have it?

suzy I can imagine it being a pain to clean, I bought a juicer ages ago and only used it once b'cos I couldn't get the bloody thing clean after!

delia I sometimes wonder what would happen if I left dp in charge of dd for a day and didn't make bottles in advance, leave instructions Wink etc etc. I tmight be interesting to see but would prob result me being grumpy Grin

debka · 05/07/2011 20:44

wiggles Grin at buying Greece!

Keep checking the website but I don't think the results will come up for ages, and I want an early night- I'm never going to be able to sleep, am I...

ponyo yes she's still coughing, I've been googling asthma and trying not to worry... such a bugger she's off the EAT study or I'd have called them. I think I'll wait a few weeks and if she's still coughing I'll take her to the GP.

Deliaskis · 05/07/2011 21:08

suzy I know you asked Ledkr but in case you're interested, I started C on a bit of solids as the Dr said it might help her reflux, and I have always struggled to get larger quantities of milk in her. So I am basically doing bottles, then the milk she won't have, I mix with rice, so it's just bits, but basically I only offer it 3 times a day, so morning bottle 7am finish milk up with rice before about 8am, next bottle 11am finish milk up with rice before midday, afternoon bottle 14.15 ish, no rice, 17.00 small bottle (she only ever had 4oz at this time) and this is the only one where I do rice as an 'extra' i.e. not just to finish her normal milk, and then bath and bottle only at 18.30. So I suppose it's roughly breakfast, dinner and tea. It is quite tiny amounts though so I don't think it is making a difference to her appetite as such, just makes her more comfortable.

I have to confess I have also tried her this morning with porridge and a bit of banana yesterday. She loved both.

I feel a bit Hmm about having done this before 26 weeks but she is is much more comfortable. She literally can't keep any more milk down, but add a bit of rice and she wolfs it down, grins, opens her mouth and grabs the spoon etc. so I'm not pushing her to have it IYSWIM.

Will stick to rice, porridge, and veg/fruit until 26 weeks.

well, to all those reading my baby sensory updates next week is a rock and roll spesh Grin

WeAreBorg · 05/07/2011 21:15

delia and suzy sorry you are feeling down, like the others say we all have crappy days, I have spent many a day in tears. I suppose if the feelings are persistent each day over a couple of weeks, and you have trouble sleeping (difficult to tell with a baby!), eating, losing interest in everything and not enjoying your baby then it could be PND. I have to say I sometimes feel ridiculously happy and totally in love with Nate, but when he was having very bad sleep (woke me every 30-45mins each night for 5 nights, then 1-2 hourly for a while) I cried every day, didn't post on here, avoided my friends etc. and I can see how it could spiral from there and that was only after a few weeks of sleep problems. reastie I completely sympathise with your month of torture! I'm not quite sure what I'm writing about now, or what my original point was, but keep posting, keep talking to friends, mum, and like the others said if things seem to be no better than GP (perhaps book a double appointment at end of surgery to have proper chat).

We don't have a daytime routine, I've always wanted to get out in the day so never had one and I don't have the motivation to follow one. We do have an elaborate nighttime routine though, and I do go a bit mental if we are late for bedtime. Saying that, I've always thought I was quite laid back but I don;t actually trust anyone with DS at all, and like delia said, I'm worried about going back to work as I'm sure nobody else can spot his tired signs etc. (even though all babies do the same things basically!)

I am remaining in the non weaning goody goody waiting till 6 months faction of this thread. So there.

Wiggles why is your day poo? We had a poo day but just in the sense that Nate plopped all over himself yet again, laughed and giggled, rolled in it, tried to put his pooey hands in his by now pooey mouth, while I tried to pin him down. We both ended up in the shower.

Debka must have missed your cough query. Is it a proper cough or a fake cough a la Nate's current thing? How long has she had it?Any wheeze, any problems feeding? Any other symptoms like runny nose etc?

Sorry have forgotten all the other posts other than the last few, chatty here today isn't it!

WanderingSheep · 05/07/2011 21:34

I can't type either Hmm

Debka I'm a bit Hmm about weaning before 26 weeks too

I've hated doing it so early this time but Lottie has been so much more settled, I've just been sticking to baby porridge until she's 26 weeks and she's had a little bit of fruit puree, I'm just giving her a little bit each day

We waited a bit longer with DD1

just been nosing about on mn and seems lots of an/pn groups have a group on fb. have no idea how this works or if everyone else here is on fb but anyone interested in doing this? am fully prepared for everyone to tell me to bog off

OP posts:

janedoe25 · 05/07/2011 22:05

d and suzy sorry to hear you are both having a rubbish time.
ledkr yay with the weight loss!

hi to everyone else, hope you are all well!

reastie im on FB (way too much Blush) Hope A has settled for the night.

wigglesrock · 05/07/2011 22:06

jane Grin Grin We have our claws into you now, you will never escape!! Said in a slightly menacing way - taking tips from the deletable Luther.

janedoe25 · 05/07/2011 22:11

wiggles i don't do Luther although DF loves it. How are you?

wigglesrock · 05/07/2011 22:17

jane Blasphemy, blasphemy - doing well, girls have been off school for almost a week and we're all still speaking so that's a positive Grin Apart from my fab hair which will lose all its fabness in the morning all as normal. Sofia still being a little teenagery for my liking, Olivia still insisting on wearing nothing but pants and dress up high heels (channelling her inner Britney Spears Shock) and Anna doing really well - starting to sit up and babbling quite a bit!!

, but how are you?

tadjennyp · 05/07/2011 22:25

Hello all, super duper hot here as my Anna would say. Fireworks were cool last night, thanks. They set them off from a dormant volcano in town and some of the hill caught fire afterwards. Happens every year! Shock

Sorry to all those feeling down. I always found piling the baby into the pushchair and going for a nice long walk helped, especially if it was out into the countryside and there was fresh air and nice views etc. Exercise alone produces endorphins and peace and quiet is very good for you.

Also into the wait until 6 months group, I hope. Mind S is still feeding every 2 to 3 hours during the day which feels a bit hard going somehow. A is having her tonsils out on Friday and we haven't decided who is going to stay overnight with her. I'm not sure I can pump enough milk off for him and she's Daddy's girl anyway. I'll be there when she comes round from her op though. What would you girls do?

hubbard86 · 05/07/2011 22:26

sorry not been on for a while as have been very busy potty training my son.
I hope all you ladies feeling low start to feel better soon.
Not much to report apart from freya rolling over, more by accident than anything else she was so suprised. I'm up for a facebook group. I also spend way too much time on fb am a little addicted.

janedoe25 · 05/07/2011 22:27

Ha ha my little borther went throught the same stage as olivia! He is thankfully out of that now and very embarrasses when i remind him (he is 17). Grin

Honestly wiggles, i dont know how i am. The past fortnight has been a toughie, but i will get through it. Family and friends have moved on but i can't, im still here.

tadjennyp · 05/07/2011 22:27

Hello Jane! Hope you are doing well. I haven't seen this Luther - is it worth tracking down on the BBC America shop?

janedoe25 · 05/07/2011 22:31

tad i would let dh stay with her, as you said she is a daddy's girl and you will see her before and afterwards. Hope you are ok.

hubbard how did the potty training go? ohh a fellow FB addict Grin

wigglesrock · 05/07/2011 22:32

tadjennyp Grin at super duper!! How old is A? I had my tonsils out when I was 6, I can't even remember who was there, no-one stayed the night and it was when you had to stay in for a week re tonsils Sad but I do remember how relieved my mum was after I had them out!! I was very ill with sore throats as a child, constantly on anti-biotics.

hubbard I assume its ds you're potty training not Freya, otherwise you're putting us all to shame Grin

tadjennyp · 05/07/2011 22:33

There is no timetable on grief and comparing how you feel to how others feel isn't worth it as you are Zoe's mother and always will be. Hugs xxx

janedoe25 · 05/07/2011 22:34

thanks tad
