Reastie, what is Alice's daily routine? Write it down for us and maybe something will pop out to one of us.
Hope you've all enjoyed the sun today. Me and a friend took Noah on the Pier today, he wasn't really very impressed, just sat in his buggy all chilled out! Was a fab day though! Dh is away all week, but at least I get the bed all to myself. Gonna head there now and stretch right out onto his side!

wigglesrock · 04/07/2011 20:57

ledkr well done on the weight loss, looks like you have a water baby Grin

How's your sister? I spent this afternoon with mine, while she bought some maternity clothes. Thought I might be a bit Envy but not a bit of it, looks like I have lost some of my broodiness. Anna was a bit of a nightmare to put down tonight, she's very chatty at the minute, gurgle, gurgle, squeal, squeal Grin

suzy Hope you feel better, I never used Hipp Organic formula but used their jars with the other two, they loved them.

Hope you're ok reastie?

reastie · 04/07/2011 21:00

hi all thanks for hopeful wishes which i read to a backdrop of piercing screams - things not too good again! am in bed with her watchng some awful antiques quiz show

deb keep forgetting to say i love the cake/. i could never do anything like that. baking i can do but icing im useless at

ledkr are you nice and brown? it was hot here too. wel done on the weight loss Envy

im contemplating an ikea trip soon for a lampshade - will prob come home with a car full of stuff i never knew i wanted/needed

reastie · 04/07/2011 21:17

ems we don't have an exact routine as such but follow baby whisperer esque routine of feed activity sleep. Her daytime naps are sporadic - sometimes she'll sleep for an hour or two a couple of times in one day and a couple of small naps also and other days she'l only have half an hour every now and again. very spprox she feeds at about 7am, 9:30, 12, 3, 5, 7:30, 9:30. I try and put her for a nap as soon as she looks tired and have varying sucess on the sleep front - this afo I left her screaming her head off as I knew she was tired and had to sleep and was fed/clean nappy. I nearly cried though it was that bad Blush . She does with some consistency have quite a long nap in the mornings - usually about half an hour to an hour after waking up in the morning she'll get really tired and go back to bed and will usually sleep then for a good hour or 2. I never wake her from a nap unless I need to get her fed to go out somewhere or need to put her in her car seat or sth. Not sure if any of that helps or if it'll just confuse people!

wiggles is your sister suffering with the sickness like you did?

ledkr · 04/07/2011 21:32

emski can imagine Noah chillin,is he less of a clingon these days.
8wiggles* she's feeling very sick.I swing between being really excited for her and Envy that she' stealing my baby limelight altho i know that is ridiculous. She has been texting me for advice tho which is nice.
My Mum annoyed me today when she was telling me how she felt sorry for her cos of sickness but didnt ask about Dilly grrr, lol.I am not broody tho,not at all.
Am having anice time with dh at the mo,the prozac has kicked in and im much less narky.
reastie in my extensive research to try and stop d waking at 5,i have noticed that people say make the morning nap later and shorter. Also there is alink with poor sleep and babies going too quickly into a deep sleep when put to bed,its suggested that they go to bed earlier and not so tired,i tried it with Dilly but she flakes out as soon as she finishes her last bottle so always goes down asleep.
Is she waking at the same time exactly?Habitual.Baby Whisperer says disturb them about half to one hr before the habitual wake up time, dont wake them just diturb them to bring them part out of sleep and disrupt the habits.

wigglesrock · 04/07/2011 21:41

reastie I heard that can work very well, like ledkr suggested, gently disturbing Alice about 30 mins before she would usually wake up, just shift her sleeping position, it can restart the sleep cycle, I think!!

Sister is feeling sick and has been sick a few times, but not every day and is starting to feel better. Although she is very tired, I tell you this, wouldn't like to be keeping her in groceries, spent yesterday and today with her and almost ate me out of house and home Grin

reastie · 04/07/2011 21:44

led tis v hard making morning nap shorter as I can't keep her up much longer or she goes over tired and if I wake her up early (by opening curtains) she's still tired so really moany and cry-ey Confused . I see the logic though. I've tried putting her to sleep at different bed times but without fail its always about an hour after she falls asleep she wakes up screaming and screaming etc. Maybe she hasn't worked out she's in bed for the night then

reastie · 04/07/2011 21:51

ok - so starting wednesday I'm opening the curtains earlier than when she usully wakes up and see what happens over a few days (not tomorrow as have to get her wide awake for baby sensory so timing naps carefully Grin

feel like i'm getting a cold grr Sad

wiggles and led when are your sis' due dates? would be funny if they shared the same date Grin or if they were both on the same an mn thread without knowing their sis' were on pn together Grin

ledkr · 04/07/2011 22:04

I think you move morning nap 5 mins at a time.I was thinking of you disturbing her half an hour before the nightime nonsense begins.
I am yet to try it as 4am seems harsh for us all and a bit risky.
She is at the opposite end of the travel cot and is wearing a bundler(nighties with gathered hem) she looks like the baby Jesus Grin
is Sis is due 25th Feb i think.

ledkr · 04/07/2011 22:05

Wiggs, you been busy on the threads today, wasnt that sweet about the adoption,i had a tear in my eye.

wigglesrock · 04/07/2011 22:09

I know ledkr, tv is shite Grin, my sister is due 24 January. Lovely to hear good news on adoption thread. Mr W cousin has been through hell and high water re adopting and I love to hear good news.

tadjennyp · 05/07/2011 01:43

Fourth of July scorching hot and still more than four hours to go till the fireworks! Hope all babies are sleeping soundly now. S is napping and A & E are out at a friend's so have a few moments peace and quiet to get on!

reastie · 05/07/2011 07:43

ledkr I'm sure you said you went to visit work a week or so ago (unless I imagined it) any annoying collegue update? and Grin to baby jesus dilly in her white gown

tad hope the fireworks were worth waiting for Grin

ledkr · 05/07/2011 08:10

yes i did,she wasnt there as on mat leave but.....i saw her yesterday walking along the rd and she is very fat, very. She was pushing an ancient buggy-wonder if the pild gave it her-and stuggling with the parasol.Looked wholy stressed.I was a bit Grin and then Blush at my lack of new Mum solidarity.

ledkr · 05/07/2011 08:11

How was she Reastie?A i mean

suzym1984 · 05/07/2011 08:48

ledkr do you think that waking thing would work with Harry? He wakes at 4am ish every night, cried until I go in and rub his tum, then back to sleep til 8am! So perfect apart from the 4am funny business!

Still feel rough here, god knows whats wrong! Goin to try and have a lazy day

Think I might go to asda and buy one of those mesh feeder things, anyone seen them? I think H would love to bite and suck the food, and I dont need to worry about choking!

wiggles thanks for the tip about the jars

Oh and anyone who has the oyster pushchair did you know you can get a feeding tray that attaches to make it like a highchair when out and about? Might come in handy when babas are eating properly. It even has a little space for their bottle/beaker very cute!

suzym1984 · 05/07/2011 08:48

ledkr what time was dilly awake today?

reastie · 05/07/2011 08:52

ledkr don't be too rude re: annoying col putting on lots of weight - remember you are in the prescence of someone who still has over 3 stone of pg weight to shift Blush Shock Sad Confused . She was average last night - not good but not terrible - there were no midnight manic paces of the garden to get her to sleep this time Hmm . btw your sis' due date is alices bday Grin

ledkr · 05/07/2011 08:57

I think im not good authority on sleep any more, dilly woke at 4.55 and we ignored her till 5.40,i have to struggle to stay rational now i wont pretend im not fed up.
Where did you see the oyster tray im def up for that sounds handy.
Im off to asda now what does mesh feeder do?

suzym1984 · 05/07/2011 09:13

the oysterv tray was from kiddicare, bout a tenner I think.

the mesh feeder you put soft food in, e.g fruit or cooked veg and they suck it thru the mesh, so no big scary lumps in their mouth. a friend has one and puts ice in when her LO is teething

wigglesrock · 05/07/2011 09:34

Morning, I've seen the mesh thing in Tesco, Mothercare etc, wonder of all wonders we all slept until 8am Shock Anna was still up for her feed at 2.30ish but I think this is the latest anyone in this house has slept for about 6 years Grin

Weather is dreadful here, absolutely pelting, Mr W is taking Sofia to the cinema this morning, Olivia doesn't want to go, she wants to stay with me, I think she's scared of the cinema but doesn't want to say!!

suzym1984 · 05/07/2011 09:59

wiggles i slept til 8am too....was lush! Harry did his 4.30am funny business so apart from that a good night! I dont actually know what time he wakes up as when I go in he is always awake and just rolling in his cot, he could have been up for hours and is always ready for a nap after an hour, so probably has been!

reastie · 05/07/2011 12:28

wiggles I bet you are mega Grin at waking up at 8am. Weather here hot but apparently the rain is heading from you over to here in time for the afternoon Hmm . They had a baby cinema thing at my local cinema where they show films every week and encourage people with babies to come and I keep thinking about going but not sure if alice can sit still for that long...mind you, she does love the tv, maybe she'd like the cinema even more

back from baby sensory. Not alltogether sucessful after accidently treading in some form of animal poo at some point between the front door and the car Shock Hmm [holds nose]. Managed to stink the car out as didn't realise until we were driving [gag]. Today we went into space at baby sensory Grin . Rather perculiar bit where we had loads of blow up beach balls (which apparently were planets to fit in with the space theme Hmm ) and had to roll them between each other as we went into space, all to the bucksfizz number 'making your mind up' in the background Confused Wink . Overzealous mums yet again throwing the balls at people instead of rolling gently Shock - had to duck to avoid a couple Wink . Back from space now and in bed with bad cramps - think it's coil related Hmm

americanexpat · 05/07/2011 12:36

8am Envy

L started fussing at 5.30 again, had a strop and put him in the swing until 7.30. He's nearing 3 hours on his nap so I suppose it's time to wake him. I had a 2 hour nap myself so I'm feeling a bit more refreshed after being up half the night with him.

ledkr - well done on the weight loss. I'll be dragging myself back to Weight Watchers in August Sad. I got some WW crisps at £land too - I've got to eat 2 just to make a normal sized portion! Grin

Deliaskis · 05/07/2011 12:49

reastie your baby sensory sessions always crack me up. Space theme, fine, beach balls, I can see how they're like planets, fine, Bucks Fizz making your mind......UP...completely random!

Friend came round this morning just back from hols, baby has had chicken pox and although they are all scabbed over and past the contagious stage I am still a bit Hmm about whether C could get it. Am just being PFB I think though. This is her 3rd baby and she knows far more about it than me and I know she wouldn't really put C at risk if there was one.

Was a bit Sad yesterday for no reason in particular, hormones I guess. No idea where my cycle is up to so not sure if it's PMT or ovulation or what. Was also minging hot sticky weather here so that didn't help. DH was a bit blue too. We were saying this is the longest time we have ever been without a holiday, we both need a break.

Am a bit worried that I might be getting slightly anal about C's routine. She is really quite good on days where I am 'in control'. When things go 'off-piste' routine wise (e.g. if we're out etc.) then everything just seems more difficult somehow, and I end up not enjoying it that much, and wishing I hadn't bothered. Feel a bit crap about it really. I never meant to be a routinazi, it just kind of happened like that, but now I think I'm at risk of letting it stop me doing stuff. Ho hum, back to work in 6 weeks so I don't suppose it will matter then.

Hope you're all having a nice day.

Dx
