jane hope you're OK. Will you let us know how things progress with your ttc/wedding if/when you can? I know we all think about you lots. I can't begin to think what you'e been and are going through.

deb how did the craft fair go? know there - it's only about 15 mins from me Grin - I just gave you a little wave in that direction Grin

d I cant justify the expense of a macbook either Shock Hmm . i blame all the white lights and friendly staff in the mac store - they made me do it Wink

can't blame my old comp for my typos though - pay a grand for a laptop and you'd expect it to write everything for you surely Wink

40Weeks · 03/07/2011 16:00

A grand. Omg. I thought my third new pair of shoes was an extravagance! Nice one. Nothing like a shiny new gadget!

How is my fellow hungovee, Byron ?? I am still on a shocking state. Deffo the fags ledkr

I think I need macdonalds.

more importantly, Jane hope your are ok - is it possible that the break from the thread is to make more time for ttc!? whatever the reason, hope you are ok and know we are all here for you when you need us. Take good care xxxx

WeAreBorg · 03/07/2011 18:14

Er Deb why were you in Siberia? Are you a spy? And brave enough to have dentistry there too!
Jane hope you are okay, will miss your David Attenborough style knowledge for a few days, hope you look after yourself.
ledkr Dilly is hilarious, I love the idea of her lifting a bum cheek up for a sneaky pump
Wiggles please give us a quote from your girls each day, they cheer me up! Just out of interest how bad was the non-sleeper? Nate not great at all so just curious to see how bad they can get?! DH tried to "help" this morning by getting him up at 5 when he was just chatting, leave him FFS!

Four4me · 03/07/2011 18:21

Oh i hate hangovers poor you. Love the drunken fun and am an 'oh sod it' drinker and always totally overindulge then don't drink for months!!

Jane lots of hugs. We are all here for you if/when you need us. Thinking of you both lots. You'll have do an occasional wedding update esp for reastie !!

Tadjenny we live in Boroughbridge just north of Tadcaster (near Ripon if you haven't heard of it), in fact a friend that lives in Taddy popped in yesterday. Thought of you!!!

Well the tooth is slightly better but am on day 3 of antibiotics so bloody hope it is healed soon. It has been soooooo painful.

Laughing at mardy girl stories. The boys aren't too bad just very boustrious sp?. Got it all to come with Imogen, she isn't 2 till september and already looks at me as if i'm ruining her life!!

ledkr · 03/07/2011 18:46

Borg i think dh casued d's early waking by doing that helpfull ill get up thing.
God she's been a right moaner the last few days, only happy when asleep, when awake seems only happy for a few moments then moans again, tried everything today,am going to put her to bed now cos i figured she's up at the crack of dawn anyway,we can have a bbq in peace then and some cider haha. Trying the travell cot tonight lets hope it doesnt put the kaibush on things.

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 19:02

40Weeks and Byron how are you both feeling?, counting down the hours until bedtime Grin

WeAreBorg Olivia just wouldn't sleep without me, the first year I really fought it, tried everything - early weaning, special clocks with eyes that opened when it time to get up etc, left a vest, top that I had worn in with her. She wouldn't go down to sleep unless I stayed with her, would sleep for 2 hours or so, wake up screaming for me, Mr W just wouldn't do, I would settle her and she would wake up 1 hour later and do the same thing. I ended up sleeping in her bed for most of the time Sad.

At about 18 months and I felt so exhausted and like a really crap Mum, I just relaxed and brought her to bed with me (it helped that Mr W is away for nights 2 weeks out of 3!!) It was like we were both different people, she slept right through, I slept. I tried controlled crying quite earlier on, feckin' awful. I would ask her "why she needed/wanted me?", she told me "she loved me and wanted to stay with me" - not much I could say to that Grin When she was a bit older, just before 3 she would go down in her own bed, wake up and come up to us, the week after Anna was born she started taking herself off to bed and sleeping through on her own, she still comes up, if we are not up by the time she gets up. Anna is still getting up through the night but its different, I can tell Hmm

Well, had fab time at Aquarium, the girls love it, I'm a bit meh, seen one fish, seen them all, but they've always loved going, Anna liked it too and I managed not to strangle my sister - result Grin

Four4me glad teeth are feeling better Grin

jane talk soon xx

tadjennyp · 03/07/2011 19:18

Jane - we're always here when you need us. Thinking of you. xxx

Boo to hangovers - can just about manage 2 beers now!

Never made into the centre of Boroughbridge, 44me but always stopped at the Morrissons to fill up on the way up north to dh's parents! Lovely part of the world.

Sorry the sleep vibe didn't work - will be trying extra hard tonight.

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 19:49

WeAreBorg just incase I scared you,Grin just to say, I do wish I had been on Mumsnet for that time, loads of advice and the feeling of not being alone re poor sleeping would have been a huge help Grin The babies are still so wee at the minute that its hard to tell if they're not sleeping for a reason or if they're just being awkward buggers Grin. Oh and just for you - Olivia insisted on being called "peanut butter" on holiday, not as a nickname but as an actual name Hmm Do you think she's been reading the MN baby names section and has realised that she has the most popular name in the world ever and therefore has parents lacking in originality Wink

40Weeks · 03/07/2011 19:50

Feeling better at last thanks wiggles wow it really was a corner, can't remember last time I felt that crap. Dh stepped up though and has beenvreat with boys so I could rest and feel shite in peace. Meant to say, my Dads a Belfast boy, well Co Down actually. Been there a few times as a kid. Glad the girls enjoyed the fish

Glad the tooth is getting better 44me, poor you

Bloody hell M just won't settle tonight, he is whinging, will try and pop back later

40Weeks · 03/07/2011 19:58

Corner? Corker more like!

Emski76 · 03/07/2011 20:16

Those with hangovers, hope your feeling better. The most I can manage at the moment is two glasses of wine and my head spins!
Four, hope your tooth gets better soon, no pain like it, apart from labour pain that it!
Wiggles, when Ben was a bit younger I would call him Monkey, he then turned around and started telling everyone his name was Ben Monkey! His friends at nursery call him it and he even told his swimming instructor that was his name. I really think he believes his name is Ben Monkey! At the moment his fave game is he plays the daddy dog and you have to be the puppy, I had to run around the garden chasing a ball the other day and barking!
Wiggles, that must have been really hard with Olivia especially with the reason she gave fir wanting to sleep with you! Glad you all enjoyed the fish!
Reastie, hope your enjoying your MacBook.
Dh took the boys to the in laws today and I visited my mum. We bought a plant for her to have in her garden, in memory of my grampy, as he's being cremated and my uncle is sorting the ashes. She cried because she didn't know where she could go to think about him, now she can sit in her garden and talk to him whenever she wants.
Noah is doing well apart from very dry skin and excema on his back and elbows, we believe he, like me and Ben, may have sensitive skin so have stopped using any bubble bath or lotion on him. He's also had loose poos
since Weds, he's going more than five times a day and has a really sore bottom. Not sure if its a bug, the food I'm giving him or teething. Ben always got a bad tummy when he was teething.
Anyway hope your all well, must go, dh wants to watch apprentice on sky plus.

Emski76 · 03/07/2011 20:16

Wow, I think thats the longest post I've ever written!!

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 20:30

emski lovely idea for your Mum to have her own place for your Grampy.

Mine get runny poos when they teeth too, although after Annas' initial red cheeks etc a few weeks ago, we've had no further signs. Lol at Monkey Ben, Sofia and Olivia play dogs too, what's stranger is that we have a real dog at home Grin which I think is sneaking up to Olivias' room at night if I forget to close the living room door Hmm

byronicheroine · 03/07/2011 20:55

Am in bed still again and hoping I feel normal tomorrow. Did I really use to do this every weekend? How did I do anything else?
Fry ups and flat coke (or orange juice and lemonade if you can get the nice girl to make it for you) does it for me - any tips 40 ? hope you've made it through.
Will reply properly tomorrow

debka · 03/07/2011 20:59

Hey there all,

Just checking in to say hi :)

jane hope all's ok.

S has started doing this annoying cough LOADS- anyone have any idea what it might be? She seems healthy otherwise. Am worried about asthma, I had really severe asthma as a child and was hoping my girls had escaped.

Will try and post a pic of my cake (can you tell I'm proud?) and Imy and the chocolate fountain on my profile.

Emski76 · 03/07/2011 21:08

Debka, that cake looks amazing! You are one talented lady!

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 21:14

Great pics debka, love the butterflies on the cake!

byronicheroine Before I had dd1, I used to go out for drinks after work on Friday, head out on Saturday evening and manage to make it to the cinema on a Sunday, not sure how I did it or afforded it Grin Now one sniff of a wine gum and I'm useless!!

americanexpat · 03/07/2011 21:22

jane - I hope everything is OK, of course we're here if you need anything.

Sorry about the hangovers, 40Weeks & byronic. Hope your partners gave you a break today!

Emski - what a lovely thing to do for your mum.

Lovely warm sunny day today, I sat in the garden and got a bit pink, had to dig out the holiday suncream! We went for a walk which L slept through, apparently he needs a good long afternoon nap when getting up at 5. Hmm Yes, up at 5 again. DH got up with him and put him in the swing where he slept until 7.30. Tonight we spent more time in the garden before bed, I fed him out there (he fell asleep), about 30 minutes in all. Fingers crossed he makes it until at least 6 tomorrow morning.

ILovePonyo · 03/07/2011 21:29

Bloody hell deb you made that cake?! Very impressive, you should go into business! Love the pic of Imy, what is she trying to shove into her mouth (apart from choc)? Grin

jane hope you are ok and if/when you are ready to start posting again will be lovely to hear from you, look after yourself xx

emski I call dd Anya monkey! The plant sounds nice for your mum, good idea. Hope you are ok with everything thats been going on :)

wiggles Shock at Olivias sleep (or lack of) - I had wanted to ask you about that too. You got through it though! Aquarium sounds good, I am a bit of a fish geek and am already planning to take dd to sealife for her 1st birthday (yes really) Hmm

Four4 really feel for you with the poorly tooth, glad its getting better now.

Hello everyone else, can't type too much as my eyes are stinging from dp cooking onions Hmm but went to wagamamas with friend earlier today and dp put dd to bed, was v nice.
Also went to bbq yest where dd was a hit, but we were only people there with child, I felt I might have been talking about babies too much but then people ask don't they?! Maybe I am one of those boring parents where all I can talk about is my child, oh well Grin

Four4me · 03/07/2011 21:37

debka you are very clever.

emski that is a lovely idea for your mum. Life can sometimes be tough. What is it about little ones playing dogs! Imogen has just starting the dog games. Luckily Joseph and Thomas are happy to crawl around barking so I don't have to join it!

We have been at the village BBQ today and poor little Archie struggled with the heat. He ended up in a nappy on a blanket in the shade. Old ladies cooed over him all day. He is well crashed out tonight, i had to wake him for his last feed at 7, must be the day long fresh air.

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 21:52

ILovePonyo I know, but A is proof that things got better Grin, besides now I can run the world on 2.5 hours sleep Grin

Four4me Your children have beautiful names, Joseph and Thomas were both on my boys shortlist!

ledkr · 03/07/2011 22:10

Well she's settled and laying like a star fish in her new big sleep space.I wonder what the night will bring. She's been a right little whinger too,i gave her some calpol at bedtime cos she was a tad warm but then its summer so what is normal?

Ella was playing with alittle girl a few yrs ago during a day out.The little girl and her parents came to say goodbye to her when they left. "bye Charlotte" they said. Ella looked sheepishly at me and mumbled "im called something different today" twas tres funny,i didnt oust her tho tempted. She aslo used to tell people i was pregnant and that she had a baby sister. Be carefull what you wish for Ells.

Four4me · 03/07/2011 22:15

ledkr that is hilarious about Ella.

wiggles we have both excellent taste in names! When I was expecting Imogen we had Olivia on our list and my friend nicked it. Also on my Archie list we had Anna/Hannah!

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 22:21

Grin Four4me

Anyone else watching Stolen on BBC1?, can barely watch Sad.

ledkr · 03/07/2011 22:31

Im watching it wiggs awfull, have some experience of it working in cp but mot a lot. A few yrs ago a lorry container was found full of young boys all from Iran, they were all told to say they were 14 and a half, some were about 20 tho. Dh had them all in the cells and i had to find them all safe houses,it was a strange night.
